I enjoyed sitting on the patio taking in the serenity and appreciated the fireplace when the weather changed overnight. The bedding is a nice quality, as was the bathrobe. The dining room is lovely, ans is the choice of music, and my server, Adina was gracious and attentive, not hesitating to consult the chef with my questions. Adina gets high marks, as does the chef. My beef rib ragout was delicious. The only thing that wasn’t perfect was the toilet handle, which was loose and needed replacement, and what sounded like a vapour lock when I turned on the shower in the morning, presumably the room hadn’t been used in a while considering the season. The maintenance man seemed to take that seriously and said he’d look into it immediately. I was only there one night, but I’m sure those minor things were remedied. Otherwise, the toiletries were nice quality. They may want to consider putting bath foam to use in the jacuzzi, but even without it was very relaxing."

- "Stayed for one night on a family trip with my son. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Had a quiet night sleep even though we were close to the elevator. Breakfast is pretty standard fare but was plentiful. I also liked how they have a staff member serving the eggs/bacon/toast. It helped to speed up the process and keep people moving. We also took advantage of the pool and my son and I both liked how the air was nice and warm in the pool area and the water temperature wasn't too cold either. He stayed in longer than usual at other pools because he didn't get cold as quickly. The price point was a little higher than I would have hoped for this type of hotel at $193+ taxes for the night, but there isn't much else in the area. It was still worth it based on the experience. I didn't use it often but it seems odd that the cleaning staff didn't notice when they cleaned before checkin." - "We stayed while there was a hockey tournament in town. The terrace faced away from all the cottages and was wonderfully quiet and private. Bright, clean, quiet, private walkout basement studio with full kitchen and bathroom, pullout sofa for sleeping. Conveniently located north of downtown Peterborough close to Catharine Parr Traill College campus of Trent University and beside a recreational trail; walking distance to the river, downtown's bus station, grocery shopping. Car parking on street only.

The space
The guest suite is located in the lower level of the house, a walkout basement with a separate entrance through the patio door in the back yard. There is an outdoor walkway along the side of the house with 10 steps down to the back yard.

The main part of the guest suite is behind the rest of the house with nothing above it; there are two steps up to the guest bathroom which is located below the first floor of the house. The ceiling height is approximately 6'7" throughout most of the space, and 6' in the shower.

Guests may be sharing the back yard and patio area with the host for use as a meeting place while observing physical distancing measures. Patio furniture is typically available to guests in the summer months (June through September).

Self check-in with key in lock box next to the guest entrance in the back yard. Please confirm with your host in advance if you would like an earlier or later check-in/out time, subject to availability.
