- "Plus sides: next to the Donkey Sanctuary and the ability to cook for yourself. Now for the downsides. Where to begin? *Couldn't get into contact with the owner for check-in, arrival times, code to the key box or anything. Only after contacting Travelnest (the third company in charge of advertising the property) by phone on the day of check-in, I got a very short email from the owner about the check-in time (an hour later than advertised) and code for the key box. No apologies, not even his/her name. *After arriving at the park we had to search for #27. No map. No instructions in the instructions email. Finally after driving around for 15 minutes we found the “chalet”. Who in their right mind dares to call it that. It’s the middle apartment of three. Next to one looked like it could be used as a drug house. *Upon entering the apartment there were cobwebs everywhere and there was a very bad marijuana smell. The windows were left open. Guessing to try and air it out. *No sea in sight while it is listed as an ocean view! *Cutlery wasn't enough for four persons. *During the night, the flood light of the neighbors will shine in the bedroom, keeping you awake. *The smoke detectors were removed. The old location still visible on the ceiling *The shower had a hole in the floor resulting in water not draining properly and seeping underneath the floor (visible by just walking on the floor and water appearing through the seems). So all in all, would NOT recommend!"

Set in the rolling hills of South Devon The Chalet is a newly converted outbuilding with amazing views to the surrounding fields. It occurs a peaceful corner of our field and gives good privacy without being remote.

The Chalet has 2 double bedrooms one with a super king and one with twin beds. Each room has an en-suite bathroom with Grohe shower and Faith in Nature shower products.

The kitchen and living area is fitted with a cooker, hob, microwave, fridge and dishwasher and there is a Nespresso Coffee Machine with complimentary pods. The Chalet has its own hot water and heating system. There is a flat screen TV, and a selection of DVDs. The bedrooms have DAB/bluetooth radios. There is an internet connection although please be aware that as this is the Devon countryside it is occasionally temperamental.

At the end of the chalet is a private south west facing patio which gets the sun from late morning until sunset. A BBQ is available.

The Chalet is situated in Stoke Gabriel, one of South Hams' most beautiful River Dart villages. The river is a 10 minute walk away where kayaks can be hired. There are 2 village pubs, a restaurant and a cafe by the mill pond serving local ice cream. Twenty minutes by car is the sandy beach of Broadsands, whilst the popular Elizabethan town of Totnes, is a 10 minute drive away.

The area has many excellent walks and local National Trust properties include Coleton Fishacre and Agatha Christie's summer retreat of Greenway.

Linen and towels are provided. Check in is after 3pm and check out is by 11am. There is a minimum 3 night stay.

- "This place is perfection! Some places call themselves dog friendly when they actually mean dog tolerant, the March End Lodges are truly dog friendly. These lodges have a private enclosed and safe garden for your dog, they leave you dog treats AND a doggy blanket. The lodge itself is gorgeous, spotlessly clean, fully kitted out with everything you need and exudes a feeling of calm and peacefulness. We were even greeted to prosseco in the fridge and milk for those desperate for a cuppa! Under the sink they give you all the little things you’re going to need - dishwasher tabs etc - it just feels like they’ve thought of everything. The location is amazing, you can walk into the lively little village to two different pubs and a well stocked shop. You can also walk to Putsborough beach (about 40 mins) and then across the beach to Woolacombe. The hot tub was a gorgeous way to spend our evenings. We didn’t need to worry about our dog as he was safe in the garden. There was a really small issue with the hot tub one night and Nick was there in minutes to fix it! Customer service is here is second to none. We will be coming back - no doubt about it!"
