- "Our stay on this luxury boat in Milford Sound was absolutely unforgettable—easily a 5-star experience! The highlight was being on the water after all the tours had left, giving us an incredible sense of peace and exclusivity. Waking up surrounded by majestic mountains, with the soft sounds of nature and the peaceful morning mist, was simply magical. The wildlife sightings added to the charm, making every moment feel special. The food was outstanding, with each meal beautifully prepared and delicious, and the service was impeccable—attentive yet unobtrusive, ensuring we had everything we needed. To top it off, the beds were incredibly comfortable, allowing us to rest and recharge in total luxury. This experience in Milford Sound exceeded all our expectations, and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect stay. Highly recommend!"

- "The cabin was not stand alone. The map suggests that it may be divided into two however there were at least 4 single rooms attached to ours which were not sound proofed, so could hear everything from the other rooms. The bbq was rusty and no foil provided so was not able to be used. The room was not clean with cobwebs everywhere which were old so had not been dusted. The table inside was hanging off the wall so was scared to put anything on it and you couldn’t sit outside because of the Utes tearing up the dirt road covering you in road dust. The linen was clean but the bed was awful with hard springs, neither person could move without the other person jumping all over the place. The shower was however amazing. "

Ever wanted to experience a geodesic dome? Less than 2 hrs from Auckland you can escape to this rustic glamping dome in a rural setting near the coast. Situated on top of a hill, there are amazing rural & sea views, thousands of stars in a clear sky, with outstanding sunrise and sunsets. The dome contains a gorgeous bedroom, lounging space, & adjacent entranceway. Nearby is your own outdoor composting toilet and luxurious shower.
To note:
We are still working on this set-up, so it is fairly basic and not yet landscaped. There are also some finishing touches that we would like to add to the domes (e.g. more plants & an outdoor bath!), but for now the basic glamping amenities are available at a discounted price, so please bear with us! This is a rural property and this means there are bugs around the place like flies, spiders, slaters & occasionally bush cockroaches. As we are an Organic property, we don't spray any poisons. If you don't want a bug inside, please pick it up & put it outside, or ask us to come & remove it for you 😊
Dome rules:
This is a fully off-grid property so we absolutely cannot use electric heaters here, as we will run out of power. Please dress appropriately, make use of the robes, diesel heater & the hot water bottles. If you need more blankets, please don't hesitate to ask. Please wash your dishes using the water at the sink to fill up the kettle and heat the water so that you can clean them properly. Wipe them & put them away again, & leave the kitchen as you found it. No shoes inside the dome please, you can leave them in the entranceways. We also run off tank water, so please keep your showers to a 5 minute maximum, otherwise we will also run out of water. We love it that you can bring your fur babies, but please keep dogs off the furniture & rugs, feel free to roll up the rug if you don't think that you can keep the dog off it. Dogs to be on leash outside at all times & please pick up any dog poo, we have poo bags if you need.

- "Kids loved and Had so much fun! Recommend to everyone " - "Its ok but alot of stairs and smelt very stuffy. Master Bedroom lights didnt work but great kitchen/appliances. Certainly a novelty." - "The surrounding is beautiful and close bye everything where we came for. Many lamps didn’t work. There were no pictures of the 2 sleeping eras below in the ship on the information site. They had no comfort and had not a pleasant smell, what keep some of us awake. All in all much too expensive what we got!"

Create moments & memories with your loved ones at this unique glamping site centred around exploration and connection. It is located in an idyllic rural setting 15kms south of Tauranga, 20kms south of Mount Maunganui & 40kms north of Rotorua making it an ideal pied-a-terre to explore the area.
Please note this is an off-grid glamping site without 240v electricity or Wi-Fi. We are with One NZ and have good phone reception and mobile data, although there are a few unstable areas on the main road.
We have one bell tent with two beds (a queen & a king single), an outdoor kitchen and bathroom and a separate toilet. Additional bedding could be provided for 2 little people upon request (choice of baby crib, child bed or Kathmandu camping bunk beds).
The fridge is solar powered, the toilet is a composting unit, the lights are LED and solar powered and the shower and bath are exposed.
You'll need to cook your meals and boil your water on an LPG BBQ. We provide quality bedding, towels & linen as well as the essentials for you to cook & enjoy your meals including salt, pepper, oil, vinegar and marshmallows for the fire pit. You'll also find tea, coffee, sugar, milk & cereals for a light breakfast.
We provide a power bank so you can recharge your phones and other devices charging via USB as well as reading lights, fairy lights, a torch, an umbrella, hot water bottles and blankets. There is also an outdoor heater and waterproof gazebo.
We recommend you come prepared with layers, waterproof jackets, head torches and any other gear you may need to enjoy your outdoor experience. Please note that there is no heating inside the tent.
The glamping site is at the start of our property. You may need to manually open & close the wooden gate that marks the end of our neighbour's property & the start of ours.
Unless you prefer to be greeted, we will let you check-in on your own.
You are welcome to go for a walk further down the driveway and explore the valley where you will find glow worms at night. Gumboots are recommended year round.
Please note however there is uneven ground, bees and we have two German Wirehaired Pointers at home. Their names are Spencer and Baxter. They are friendly but energetic family dogs that tend to be both curious and protective. This is the reason we prefer you to let us know if you are going to go for a wonder and explore our property. Chances are, they will find out and bark. After the first acquaintance, they are incredibly friendly and playful.
We enjoy meeting our guests, however we respect your privacy & choice regarding the level of interaction with us. If you need assistance or just want to say hello, feel free to reach out, we live a couple of mins walk down the drive.
Oropi is a lovely rural suburb south of Tauranga prominently occupied by kiwifruits & avocado growers, farmers and lifestyle blocks.
Our property is surrounded by kiwifruit orchards and their typical high hedges which protect the crops from the wind. There is generally no activity day to day, but there are times when machinery is working on the various fields including weekends and public holidays. There is unfortunately no way to predict when there will be activity.
We share our driveway with the orchards and one neighbour. Please drive slowly past their house. Kids and animals are free roaming on their property.
A car is preferable to get around.
We believe it is not safe to walk or bike on the main road due to the speed limits up to 100k/h. {*Noting that Oropi Mountain Bike park is a few mins away and within cycling distance but our recommendation is to drive and park at the facilities provided}
Taxis and Ubers are available but not recommended.
It is recommended to arrive during the day to familiarise yourself with the site and amenities, especially if you have never glamped or camped before in a remote location.
Our accommodation warmly welcomes well-behaved & clean dogs, providing you are confident they will not show any aggression towards kids and other animals, are responsive to your commands and will stay within your eye sight at all times. We have nearby chickens & a very active bird life so we ask that guests ensure their dogs are not prone to chasing or harassing poultry & other birds.
Please understand that our priority is to maintain a peaceful and safe environment for all guests, including our resident wildlife and nearby livestock. Any damages caused by pets will be the responsibility of the owner. We strive to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay for all our guests, both human and canine, and appreciate your cooperation in making this possible.
- "We had such a great experience staying at this gorgeous yurt. The hosts made everything so easy and so many extra touches that made us feel special! What a beautiful, serene and relaxing spot to get away and experience a new form of glamping in yurt. Highly recommended and would go back in a heartbeat. Thanks so much!"

Experience New Zealand in true local fashion, a unique live-aboard holiday spent sailing the stunning coastline of the Abel Tasman National Park.
This off the grid experience includes 1 nights accommodation and 2 days of activities and your private skipper as your host. Longer stay options available should you choose to. Departing 10am Day 1, return 4.30pm the next day.
Departing Nelson waterfront, sail across Tasman Bay, toasting to the sunset, bound for the National Park. Your Skipper with excellent local knowledge is your personal guide and host and can customise your itinerary to suit you.
Enjoy the stillness and the quiet of The Park when the day trippers have departed. Experience the early morning chorus birdsong.
Choose to get dropped off in The Park and go for a walk along one of NZ's Great Walks, through native bush, with your catamaran greeting you at your desired pick up spot.
Or spend your days sailing, fishing, swimming, beach strolling, snorkeling, viewing NZ fur seals, marine and bird life and making use of the Stand Up Paddle Boards and Kayaks found on board.
Jamarh has 4 large guest cabins. The forward two queen size master cabins each have an ensuite including toilet, handbasin and bath/shower. The aft cabins each have a double berth and separate single berth. There is a separate crew cabin with both internal and deck access.
Jamarh has large open deck areas and is easy to move around. Large flat fore decks and trampolines are great for soaking up the sunshine or viewing the water or dolphins beneath. A roomy sheltered cockpit area allows you to comfortably get out of the sun or wind but still be fully involved in what's happening.
As this is a self catered tour, plan to bring along your own food. You will have use of the well-equipped galley (kitchen), including basic pantry supplies, tea and coffee. Please note it is customary that you provide the skippers meals during your stay.
Special conditions:
Public Holiday surcharges apply - please enquire.
Meals/catering costs not included in advertised price.
Extras: Linen (included); NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave.
NOTE: Other options are available so if you would like something different to the above just send an enquiry.
- "Our family of four (kids aged 9 and 6) spent three nights, four days aboard Jamarh. We had such an incredible time sailing, swimming and exploring the beaches, flora and fauna of the Abel Tasman. We chose to have our trip catered which I highly recommend. The food was plentiful and delicious and allowed us to truly relax and enjoy our time. Martin, our captain, was delightful: extremely capable, knowledgeable and genuinely the easiest person to get along with. Jane-Maree made booking and planning our trip a breeze. She even swooped in to recuse us when we thought we had missed our bus from Nelson! We simply cannot recommend this experience highly enough - it is not to be missed. We are already thinking about coming back next Christmas to sail the Marlborough Sounds and D'Urville Island. Thank you Jane-Maree and Martin! Felicity & family"

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. The off-grid cabin over looks a pond, with birds present all year round. It is double glazed and fully insulated with kitchen, dining and sleeping areas, making it a comfortable self sufficient space for two people. Children or friends are able to pitch a tent(s) on the 'lawn'.
The decor is quirky, with a strong animal theme evident throughout.
The shower, composting toilet and an outdoor kitchen complete the space.
Enjoy your adventure!
The space
The decor is certainly quirky - you will be greeted by the Parking Duck on arrival. "Ducks" continuously swim in the pond, overlooked by pukekhos and even a Kereru (who also watches over you as you laze in the hammock). Birds also surround you while in the toilet. Inside animals feature on the backsplash, plates, drapes etc.
The cabin is set up to accommodate two people comfortably. However, there are extra plates. cutlery etc to ensure a much larger crowd can be catered for. The large decking area and outdoor table ensure everyone can get together.
While the cabin has all the amenities for self sufficiency, it is totally off-grid with only basic power facilities. There is a fridge, icebox, radio, lights and you will be able to charge phones and laptops. No hair dryers or electric toothbrushes etc please.
Extras may camp on the front lawn (still a work in progress). With the outdoor amenities available to them at any time.
Dogs are welcome, however not in the cabin.
Guest access
Guests enter from Norfolk road just 2ks from SH2, and access the cabin down a track which has been upgraded to ensure easy drive for smaller vehicles.
I like to greet all my guests and show them how to use the amenities. While an information sheet is in the cabin, I find showing is much better than telling.
You are welcome to explore the farm, wander to the river, look at the animals or just sit and chill.
Other things to note
The cabin overlooks a pond and near the river and while it is a lovely setting, does pose potential risks for young people.
The Wairarapa is known to be dry over the summer months and a total fire ban is put in place each year.
You will note earth works as you drive down to the cabin. These are on my neighbour's place. Work is not done every day, weekends or holidays and must finish by 4.30.
- "Peaceful and quiet. Would recommend and be going again soon" - "Perfect relaxing and private location.Really enjoyed our stay was just amazing!...will be returning again soon for another stay."
Welcome to The Yurt at Ōraka, a romantic haven nestled above picturesque Colac Bay. Built as a place of connection - with nature, yourself and loved ones - our yurt is the perfect place to reset and relax. Star gazing enthusiasts will delight in the view of the night sky from the deck (and the outdoor bath!).
By day you`ll enjoy the stunning views across the bay. The Yurt at Ōraka is a unique and magical getaway that will make you feel closer to nature and to each other.
The yurt features a comfortable queen bed, an indoor fire, a wood-fired bath, and a separate kitchen and bathroom. The project is all about connection - to nature, to self, to the people with you at the yurt - hence no internet and the re-wilding of the garden.
Due to the nature of the section and amenities, this property is not suitable for children under 6 years of age.
Much like a tent, the yurt brings you closer to the elements outside - it can be noisy in the wind and rain but you will be perfectly comfortable inside!
