Quiet lake with beautiful views from the outside patio or lake facing sunroom porch. Enjoy solid sand and rock base lake to walk out in the water and swim. Three feet deep at end of pier and 20 feet deep at swim raft. At night, sit on the pier and watch the moon dance off the water. Fish for pan fish from the pier in the early morning or late day.
Perfect for the grandparents, a comfortable Queen bed in the bedroom on first floor. Other three bedrooms are upstairs. Large bedroom on second floor has King bed and overlooks lake while sun comes up in the morning. Third bedroom has Queen bed while forth bedroom has a Bunk bed. The house fits up to 6 adults and 4 children comfortably. More than 3 families would be too crowded.

It seems no one is around and it is quiet throughout the week. Usually, the family of swans swim around the lake. Hummingbirds dart through the yard visiting the garden and feeders.

Children can find enough to do playing in the sand and water while you put something delicious on the grill and enjoy a drink in the beautiful breeze. Sit, watch and be amazed at what children can do to fill their time.

Paddle the lake in one of the boats and easily fine nature at work or sit and recall why coming to the lake is so important to family and friends.

Cottage On The Canal is perfect for those who enjoy kayaking, canoeing, fishing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, fall colors, or just getting away from the city. Located on a small canal that leads directly into Tichigan Lake, this house is on the water and only 350 feet from wide open lake. Tichigan Lake and the Fox River Impoundment combine for over 1,100 acres of navigable waterway that is perfect for waterskiing, wake boarding, fishing, and swimming in summer and ice fishing, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing in winter. Just a short paddle from the house is a swimmable lake with depths greater than eight feet and depths up to 63 feet in the middle of the lake. By walking less than 100 steps away from the house you can find dining and often live entertainment at The Watering Hole Bar and Grill. This cottage is ideal for 4 people, could sleep 5 or 6 in total, if they fit on the small pull out sofa featured in the photos. Relax by a fire in the private, fenced-in yard, or enjoy the lower level entertainment area where family and friends can play games or just relax and watch a movie. Located just 3.5 miles from the nearest grocery store and less than 4 miles to downtown Waterford, you can be away from it all but close to creature comforts. The canal is NOT ideal if you have a pontoon boat that is 8.5' wide or greater or 18 foot or larger ski boats as the canal is restricted by a narrow bridge and the canal itself is only 20 feet wide. It IS ideal for fishing boats, jet skis, kayaks, canoes, paddle boats, or paddle boards. Included with your stay is free unlimited use of two kayaks and one canoe, or bring your own fishing boat and tie up to the dock. If you just want to relax and look at the water then the deck overlooking the canal and the lake may be more your style. Bring your brats, burgers or hot dogs and grill out on the deck on the Weber propane grill. The canal may appear clean and shallow, but guests do catch perch, bass, catfish, and even northern pike right off the dock. Paddling through the tunnel allows for great underwater viewing of whatever happens to be swimming through! The house does have a Ring Doorbell at the front door for security and monitoring of the house.

To our new and especially, repeat guests: We have had some changes to our yard. Due to a sanitary sewer project we lost several trees leading to the lake. We took the opportunity to reshape our hill to allow for easier access for yard maintenance. We took out our staircase and now have a gentler sloping path to lake. This spring we hope to add an easier stairway with handrail also. For now we will be opening up select week long reservations for July, August and September. Pontoon rental may available at nearby Sportsman's Pub and Grub. Call ahead for reservations!

Dogs must be fully housed trained, are not allowed on furniture or in beds, and must be kenneled while you are away. There is a nonrefundable $25 per day for each dog. If you do travel with your dog please keep on leash at all times. If your pup likes to swim, please do not let wet or muddy dogs inside the house. Make sure they are clean and dry. Do not leave dogs in the house unattended. If you do have to leave your fur baby behind for any reason please bring a crate for him or her. Please clean up after your pup.

- There is another small cottage on the property near the road. This home is a private residence. Occupants will have access to their boat but will not use lakefront during your stay.

Basic first aid kit located in cabinet above refrigerator for your convenience. Use at your own risk and please keep children off counters and away medical supplies.

Upper deck presents a fall risk if furniture/railing is climbed upon. Please keep your kiddos in sight and safe!

Fire extinguishers provided in kitchen (under butcher block counter), in garage (on shelf outside door), and near grill (check the garbage can labelled 'grill').

As the stairs offer the only egress from the main living area, in the event of a fire, two escape ladders are provided (in the kitchen and master/queen bedroom) and can be used from any window or the deck. Be safe!

The exterior of the home and interior of the garage are monitored by video for safety, security and compliance with House Rules. Only registered guests may access the property 11p-7a. While we welcome and cater to small gatherings, please have any gathering that exceeds the maximum guest count approved prior to booking/arriving. :)

If you bring a boat there are several other good fishing lakes a few minutes away. Many good restaurants and bars close by if you don't want to use the full open kitchen. The cabin comprises two cozy bedrooms, each thoughtfully designed to ensure a comfortable night's sleep. The master bedroom is equipped with a california king-size bed as well as with a small workspace for those that require it. Guests staying at this cozy cabin have exclusive access to multiple amenities. Whether you’re taking time to fish off the dock, go for a peaceful kayak ride, or roast some marshmallows by the fire, be sure to plan some time to enjoy the relaxing nature the home has to offer. You also have full access to a TV in the main living space that is equipped with a Roku streaming device that will allow you to log into your preferred streaming applications. Be sure to bring your login info! Should you need to finish some work before enjoying some R&R, there is a small workspace provided in the master bedroom. This is a dog-friendly home. While we fully believe that pups are just as much a family member as anyone else, we request that you do not leave the pup home alone while you are out unless properly kenneled. Also, out of respect for all future guests, please ensure to pick up all pet refuse. Waste bags are provided in the bin next to the back door.

Tichigan Lake, spanning a vast 1100 acres, is a full recreation lake offering boating, swimming, fishing, and kayaking opportunities. Boats can be docked at the property, but due to a culvert, only pontoons under 8.5 feet wide and 18 inches tall and fishing boats are suitable. Larger ski boats are not recommended.

There is enough parking for 4 separate vehicles. Should you need to trailer your boat, the driveway has sufficient room.

Other items to note
- Please be aware that there are two Ring cameras on the property: one at the entrance and one at the front of the property, ensuring your safety and security. Both cameras use both video and voice recording.
- Please note that the stand up shower is on the smaller side.
- Boats can be docked at the property, but due to a culvert, only pontoons under 8.5 feet wide and 18 inches tall and fishing boats are suitable. Larger ski boats are not recommended.
- Take note of the exposed natural gas heater in the colder months, which can be hot to the touch. Exercise caution around it to ensure your safety.

- Please pick up after your pet outside. Waste bags are provided in the pet storage bin by the back door. While we are happy to offer a pet friendly vacation spot, it is important that future guests get to enjoy our back yard in a clean manner. An additional charge will be applied should we observe differently.
- Speaking of furry friends, please try your best to keep them off of all furniture. Having 2 pups of our own, we understand a good cuddle sesh is always great, but we just ask you refrain from the furniture and beds. An additional charge will be applied should we observe differently.
- Please use the dog leads with own discretion based on your dog's weight and activity.

On the Fox River around the corner from Tichigan Lake north of Waterford, we are located near restaurants, shopping, snowmobile trails, kayak rental, and bike trails. Perfect for the family who enjoys kayaking, tubing, water-skiing, fishing, snowmobiling, hunting, or just plain relaxing. We do not have a beach and swimming from our pier is not conducive because of the muck. There are sandbars on the river and lake for swimming. Your safety is our top priority. This is why we have a fire extinguisher on each level, Surveillance of the yard outside between the garage and the house, 8 smoke/CO detectors, and we sanitize all utensils and high touch surfaces.

- Please be mindful of our sewage system and avoid flushing anything other than toilet paper, as the city sewage by the lake is sensitive.

- If you're interested in a leisurely outing on the lake, we offer pontoon boat rentals at $200 per night (only for summer season).

Quiet lake area but also close to good food options and stores. Tres Locos Mexican restaurant is at the end of the block. Grocery store is nearby. Mile from public library and other restaurants. Lake access across the street is good for fishing and launching kayaks. Idle Isle Beach down the road has swimming, boat launch, playground, fishing pier and covered picnic area.

Perfect lake house retreat! This home just went through a major renovation in 2023 - it feels like a brand new home with upgrades throughout. It is a 4 bedroom and 3 full bath, ~3000 square foot home. It is large enough to sleep 12 comfortably and is located only 1 hour 15 min away from Chicago! 20 minutes to Lake Geneva, <20 min from Alpine Valley, and 30 minutes from Milwaukee. Great for families or a friends weekend getaway. We have almost an acre of property and over 50 feet of lake frontage.

Please keep in mind that this is my family's vacation home with our personal touches and effects. This is not a cookie cutter rental property nor a full time business. We ask you to take care of it like you would your own space, since we open up our doors to others when we are not using it ourselves.

*IMPORTANT* - Ring Doorbell on Property
We have Ring doorbell camera by the exterior front door of our house. It takes short motion activated video clips when someone walks to the door or comes down the driveway. There are no cameras elsewhere on the property.

We do NOT allow parties or special events at my home. We are located in a residential neighborhood and have this rule out of respect for our neighbors. Please no wedding inquiries.

Lake/Boat Rentals: There is one local company that rent boats. The lake is great for boating, swimming (there is a great sandbar area for hanging out - only accessible by boat/kayak), and fishing (especially in our bay or right off our dock, where it is shallow with greenery). Please note that there is *no walk in beachfront* from which to enter the water, so you'll need to do that by boat/kayak. Our boat is on a locked lift and is never included in the rental.

We are close to many family friendly and recreational activities such as petting zoos, nature areas, and golfing.

The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, cups, wine glasses, pots, pans, and small appliances such as a coffee maker, blender, toaster, food processor, and slow cooker.

Pets: Allowed on a case by case basis with extra pet fee and contract addendum.

Rates: Our base nightly rate is for up to 8 guests. We do charge $25/guest/night for guests 9-12. VRBO will automatically calculate these fees, but they are not very transparent about it in their current system, so I am including it here.

No smoking allowed in the home.

It was a little tricky for one of the families that stayed there, but they just turned up the white noise machine a bit for the kids. The shower in the basement also has low water pressure. This Area also has a electric Dart Board. From there you can enjoy the view out over the lake through the Glass sliding doors. Stepping outside you will find the Grill and the patio with some patio furniture. This property features a large backyard great for tossing a football or playing some-yard games. Located on a private road with the entire house having a view of the lake. The deck and patio are great for relaxing outside. The large master bedroom suite upstairs has a double shower and jetted tub overlooking the lake. The first floor bedroom has its own private bathroom and door to the deck. The third bedroom is off the living room and is great for kids. Long lake is a full recreation lake and has great fishing. If you bring a boat there are several other good fishing lakes a few minutes away. Great restaurants and bars close by if you don't want to use the full open kitchen. Great for a long weekend or a full week summer vacation.
