The listing states there is internet; it does not state there is wireless internet. If like me, you assume that in 2023 "internet" means "wifi", be aware that there is no wifi, despite the fact that there is a wifi router on the nightstand. Kind of annoying, but as advertised. It's a bit far from all the Birkie festivities if you're going to and from Cable/Hayward, but a nice place to relax after the race!"

Charming private lake cabin "Barefoot Bungalow" located in channel between Hemlock and Red Cedar Lake in Barron County. Cabin comes complete with queen bed, sleeper sofa in living room comfortably sleeps one additional adult/child, linens, towels, flat screen TV with a selection of DVD's. Kitchen is equipped with stove, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, insta pot and all the necessary dishes and cooking utensils. In the fall of 2019 I added a common area for guest use which includes an outdoor kitchen equipped with a charcoal, built in gas grill , refrigerator, and a beautiful outdoor stone fireplace. Please note, the outdoor common area is shared by my other cabin. Private bedroom comes complete with a two person jetted tub if your looking for that romantic get away. Pack up your vehicle and explore this northern Wisconsin retreat. This property has a dock available for use to guests. You will find all you need to enjoy some R&R. The public boat landing is only a mile away, so bring your boat if you please. Fish cleaning house and kayaks are also available for guest use.

This lakefront cabin rental is located in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, and provides the perfect setting for a getaway in nature. The cabin features a full kitchen, two beds and one bathroom and can accommodate four comfortably. The open concept area has a queen-size and full size bed, dining table, love seat, chair, electric fireplace, and large flat screen TV with DVD's. Our condo's main level has two bedrooms and two full bathrooms. A third bedroom and full bath are located on the upper level.

For additional sleeping space, there are two sofa sleepers located in the unit as well. There is a large family room on the upper level of the unit with a desk, a large table, more seating, a tv, and a variety of books.

The kitchen includes a full-sized refrigerator, range, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker. Utensils provided, along with pots, pans, bakeware, and dishes.

There is a fitness room next to the pool area.

Things to know:

There is a restaurant at the clubhouse on the property. The food is great!

There is no elevator for this unit and it is located on the second level. You will need to be able to walk up one set of stairs to access the unit.

There is no BBQ grill on site for public use.

Names of all guests staying in the unit will be required.

No animals or smoking allowed. If we discover that an animal or smoking has been present, you will be responsible for additional fees.

The space
This 1,500 sq foot lakefront cabin sits on a private acre of forestland offering year-round activities for the outdoor enthusiast! The secluded drive through the rolling Blue Hills of the Barron County Forest offers a true “up-north” feeling as you arrive at the cabin.

Enjoy beautiful lake views from the backyard, evenings relaxing in the large screened-in porch, grilling on the deck, and making s’mores around the campfire!

We provide 2 kayaks, a 5-person pedal boat, and a 16-foot aluminum rowboat all free for our guests starting in Spring of 2022!

The living room has space to comfortably seat the whole family to gather around the electric fireplace and the smart TV. The fully equipped kitchen offers modern appliances and all the cooking utensils needed, space for 10 people to sit, plus a Keurig coffee pot and single-serve coffee maker (paper coffee filters and some K-cups included), new toaster, and a Ninja blender for margaritas and smoothies.

Summer months offer some of the best boating, watersports, fishing, hiking, biking, and golfing in the Northwoods! All three of the lakes have crystal-clear waters and provide great fishing for walleye, northern pike, bass, and panfish! Boat to various bars and restaurants on Red Cedar Lake. Plenty of open water to navigate in your boat with about 2,500 acres and 30 miles of shoreline to explore. Enjoy kayaking, pedal-boating, or taking the rowboat for a lap around the lake! Plus the 18-hole Tagalong Golf Course (located along the Red Cedar Lake shoreline) is only 7 miles from the cabin! Also, a great location for hiking with the Ice Age Hiking Trailhead being located only 3 miles from the cabin. Take your mountain bike a few miles north to the endless CAMBA off-road bike trails around the Hayward area.

The winter months provide incredible ice fishing (Hemlock Lake is a hidden gem). Plus, hop on your snowmobile and cruise down the back yard across the lake and you have access to over 250 miles of the best snowmobile trails in the Midwest! Snow shoeing and cross-country skiing on the lake, and Christie Mountain Ski Resort is only 15 miles from our cabin where you can enjoy downhill skiing, snowboarding, and tubing!

Guest access:
- We have a touchscreen keypad lock for contact-less guest entry.
- Parking is large enough for 3 or 4 vehicles.

Other things to note:
- New Dock with huge fishing platform, and two built-in benches, being installed Spring of 2024! Enjoy morning coffee or evening drinks on the dock with relaxing water views! We always see bald eagles soaring and diving for fish from the dock :)

- New log-cabin style King bed in the master bedroom!

- New log-cabin style dining room table and chairs, and log-style bedside tables, screened-in porch patio furniture!

- You are welcome to bring your own boat and/or jet ski and tie up at our dock during your stay.

- Propane is provided for the gas grill.

- Please bring your own firewood.

- Cabin is located ATV / UTV friendly road. Hop on your 4-wheeler and go explore!

- Cellular service is poor at the cabin. We have Wi-Fi for email, messaging, FaceTime, and we have a landline in case of emergencies.

- Shoreline at the end of the dock is murky and not great for swimming or jet skis. Because of the lily pads and water vegetation, it can be very difficult to get a jet ski (or jet propulsion boat) to the dock because the jet ski can get clogged up with lily pads / seaweed. Boats with propellers do not have this issue as they can power through the lily pads and seaweed by moving slow through the waters near the dock.

- However, the lake water is crystal-clear and provides excellent swimming locations once you take out the boat and drop anchor in deeper water, or pull up to sandy shorelines all over the 3-lake chain.

- Due to health allergies, no pets allowed.

- Ring Doorbell camera located on the front door of the cabin. That is the only recording / video device on the property.

- "Great lay out, clean, lots of kitchen items available. Main bathroom hand towels and wash cloths were left in dryer and not in bathroom. Come enjoy this beautiful fully furnished condo. As you walk through the security door at Tagalong resort center, on your way to the condo, you will go past the indoor pool, hot tub and gym. The condo with its open concept boasts a beautiful view of the Red Cedar Lake. There is a deck off the living room to enjoy and watch wild life in the water. The kitchen is fully furnished with every cooking item you could want. The living room has a flat screen TV and cozy fireplace. There are two bedrooms one on the main floor with a queen bed and master bath. The large second bedroom is upstairs with an open concept holding two queens and two twins with the bathroom between. The condo located in Birchwood is 25 minutes north of Rice Lake, 30 minutes east of Spooner and 35 minutes south of Hayward. There is always something to do In Birchwood year round, fishing hiking boating, biking, ATV, snowmobiling and cross country skiing.

This welcoming house offers AC, WiFi, iron, hair dryer, and more for your comfort. Our place is equipped for both long or short stays to make your stay one to remember. We would prefer no pets, but will consider on a case by case basis.

The bedroom includes a queen size bed, as well as full length mirror. A patio door welcomes you to the backyard area, complete with seating area and propane grill for guest use.
