The furniture is servicable but definitely been bumped around. I definately just need a place to sleep, not to impress and this place was just fine. Nice and quiet too. No loud street traffic. The shower was great, good water pressure, nice shower head. Cant tell you about the pillows, I bring my own. A/C worked good. Nice cafe to eat at , easy to walk to, on the corner. Jacuzzi was closed first few days, but did open . We did enjoy it. We didnt use the fitness room, nor did we have their breakfast. Desk clerk, Marsha offered suggestions on local dining, which was really nice and we did enjoy eating at : Bobs Bitchin BBQ, Dino's Bar & Grill, Ope Haus in Barneveld, and the Cafe on the corner from the motel. The 1700 sq ft house is a stones throw from a park with tennis and pickle ball courts and an amazing outdoor pool. It is a short walk (4-5minutes) to the Shakerag Alley Arts Center and the main High Street. Short hikes can be had within Mineral Point by climbing Merry Christmas hill. Close by places to visit include: House on the Rock, Governor Dodge State Park, Spring Green, American Players Theatre and more.

You can access all areas of the house and gardens, feel free to wander the wooded trails in the back and sit fireside at night under a canopy of stars! Work retreat: We’ve hosted several ‘work retreats’ during the week for people who want to escape the city and their office - message me for discounted rates when you book 4 consecutive nights, Monday to Thursday.
All Children: We welcome children staying at the house, a few simple toys and picture books are provided for their enjoyment, located on the lower shelves in the main lounge. Small children: Also, if needed there is a pack and play, and a high chair for a baby/toddler can be provided (Svan brand, wooden chair with tray and safety straps), please let me know 1 day ahead of arrival if you’d like to use it.

Floor plan: The upstairs bedroom has two twins and one full bed in it (As shown in the photos). Access to the upstairs bedroom is through one of the main floor bedrooms, via narrow stairs. This floor plan works best for friends and family groups who know each other already.

Exterior Steps: Mineral Point is a hilly place and like much of the lodging in Mineral Point there are exterior steps up to the house. This house is not a new build: the house dates back to the 1920’s and descendants of the original owners live close by. The house is welcoming, comfortable, and has lots of original features and charm. But it’s not perfect, if you are looking for an all modern experience this is not the Cottage for you.

Built in 1976, this Frank Lloyd Wright apprentice designed home is nestled in the rolling hills of the Wisconsin River valley on 30 acres of old hardwood forest and restored native prairie. Open floor plan living room, dining room and kitchen with soaring 18 foot ceilings, skylights and vintage wood stove. Sliding glass doors open to a 400 square foot deck suspended in the trees over looking the pond below. Recently remodeled kitchen and bathrooms. Kitchen with gas range, full size refrigerator, microwave, dish washer and stocked pantry. Outdoor gas grill. 2 bedrooms, each with a queen bed and full bath. spacious closets, linens and towels.
Half way between Spring Green and Dodgeville. Approximately 12 miles to American Players Theatre, downtown Spring Green and Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin. 50 miles to Madison.

Everything in the center of town is walkable, including Pendarvis and for us the wordlanders gathering.
