Located in Big Canoe, an 8,000 acre mountain community, there are numerous activities like golf, hiking, fishing, tennis, swimming and fitness. Not to mention a first class restaurant, The Mountains Grille and Black Bear Pub that overlook the golf course and Lake Sconti. Outside of the community there is shopping, winery tours and State parks to mention a few. All the linens are new and the towels are Egyptian Cotton. The house is non-smoking and all the linens and towels are washed in an allergy free detergent.

This beautiful contemporary home was renovated in 2012 and offers a year round mountain view. With wood floors throughout, the home is warm and comfortable. There are 3 levels. On the upper level is the loft with 2 twin beds. It overlooks the living area and is perfect for the kids. On the main level is the entry with slate flooring, living room with vaulted wood ceiling and exposed wood beams and a fireplace, dining area, kitchen, laundry, screened porch, main outside deck and the master suite with a king size bed. All with wood floors. Downstairs is the terrace level with a bedroom with a full bed and a trundle bed with 2 twin mattresses. The terrace level also has 1.5 bathrooms and a family room with a large covered outside deck. There is uncovered parking for 3 cars. No parking is permitted on the road.

Big Canoe is an official Wildlife Sanctuary and as such each guest needs to respect local wildlife. Big Canoe is home to several species of birds including the bald eagle, quail and wild turkey. You'll also see black bear, deer, rabbits and squirrels. Guest should never leave food items or trash outdoors. If needed there are dumpsters close to the North Gate.

Off-site there is plenty to do in the North Georgia Mountains. Gibbs Gardens, Amicalola Falls, and the Tate House are all about a 15 minute drive. The North Georgia Premium Outlets in Dawsonville with 140 stores is a short 30 minute drive. "The Nest" is also convenient to Ellijay with apple festivals, wineries, and local antiques.

In need of an adventure try out the twenty plus miles of hiking trails that roll through creeks, waterfalls, and all of nature’s beauty. Just a short distance from Big Canoe is Amicalola Falls State Park which features an 829-acre state park home to the 729ft falls. Also located in Big canoe is a jeep trail that allows you to explore Big Canoe in a different way while in your 4WD vehicle. You’ll pass through creeks, old cabins and some great spots to have a picnic. Or join into the Open Play Pickleball offered several days a week.

THIS AREA OF GEORGIA WAS NOT IMPACTED BY THE HURRICANE. Everything in the area is open as normal. Nice and quiet, with miles of hiking trails. This chalet has GREAT views of Lake Petit and the Mountains. It is about as romantic and you can get! Wake up in the morning to the sun rising over Lake Petit. Completely renovated chalet. New everything and very nice. It is a one bedroom with one bath. The bedroom has a king bed and the couch in the living room is a sleeper that opens up to a queen bed (great for a child)! Bathroom has a new walk in shower. The kitchen is fully furnished as is the chalet. Just bring the food and wine and your set. The living room has a 54 inch Smart TV which is hooked up to a streaming device if you have Netflix or something like that. There is a 32 inch TV in the bedroom. This chalet is perfect for a couple wanting a relaxing getaway. The deck has a table that seats four and overlooks Lake Petit and the mountains.

This cabin sleeps two adults and one or two children, depending on age.

Big Canoe is a premier mountain community, conveniently located just one hour north of Atlanta, Georgia and metro area airports. Big canoe has tons of amenities! We have indoor and outdoor tennis Courts. The marina offers pontoon, kayak, paddle board rentals. The lake is stocked with trout. Big Canoe offers championship golf courses, eight outdoor and two indoor tennis courts, a world class fitness center with an indoor swimming pool, a stocked fishing lake with rental pontoon and fishing boats, and twenty plus miles for hiking trails. Big canoe has a jeep trail and is a wild life conservation area. Deer, turkey and other wild life meander around the property. The amenities can all be utilized by guests. GUEST rates apply.

Our cottage is located at the base of the mountain on Lake Sconti at Big Canoe, we are a 5 min. walk to Black Bear Pub & Golf Center and a short drive to the Tennis Center, Wellness Center and Waterpark. We are also very close to the main gate for quick access to grocery stores, local restaurants, wineries, and popular wedding venues. Location, location, location.
Our renovated cottage offers beautiful lake views, a fully stocked kitchen, new appliances, upgraded furniture, new W/D and two kayaks for your use on Lake Sconti. It sleeps 6 with 2 bedrooms and a loft, 2 TVs, free WiFi, indoor fireplace, firepit, gas grill, 2 Kayaks and 1 parking space.
If you're ready to experience nature at its finest, come to Big Canoe and stay at our lovely cottage at the base of the mountain. Quite time in the neighborhood is from 10pm - 7am Please be mindful and turn off all lights, TV's, fans, electronics, etc. when not in use and when leaving the property. The garbage facility is located at the North Gate (7506 Wilderness Pkwy). You can use your entry card to enter. Please do not leave garbage outside, as we are home to many wildlife creatures that we don't want to encourage to feed. Always be sure your car doors and house doors are locked due to clever bears. We love dogs, but we do have a two dog limit. (Fees apply). Please do not allow dogs on furniture. They must be well-behaved, clean and flea/tick free, non-chewers, and potty trained. There are several dog parks in Big Canoe where dogs can run, however dogs must be leashed everywhere else in Big Canoe or fines will be incurred. There is a $150 non refundable fee for dogs.
