This tiny A-frame cabin is 280 square feet of pure coziness. An all electric unit provides the heating and air conditioning. It offers significant privacy but is still walking distance to at least 15 restaurants and is less than three miles from public parks where there is availability for tennis, pickleball, basketball, disc golf, sand volleyball, walking and running.

The living room is so cozy you don't want to leave. Look over the wall to wall bookshelves with a focus on nature, gardening and living off the land. Get out the games and puzzles and take over the dining table. Cuddle up by the wood burning stove. Wonder what it was like to live here long ago.

The kitchen contains all the items you need to stay in and make your meals. We stock it with the basics for meal prep in addition to coffee, juice, farm fresh eggs and bread. If you need a particular item, we can make sure it is there before your visit.

THE BATHROOM
The bathroom is attached to the back hallway. There's a shower stall, toilet and sink. There was no bathroom when it was originally built.

OUTDOOR SPACE
Both porches have rocking chairs for taking in the scenery. Relax with your favorite drink and watch the clouds roll by and whatever animals wander out of the woods and into the meadow. Fireflies grace the meadow in the summer.

Once you step off the porch, you have roughly 60 acres of woods to explore with walking trails by the creek, by the pond and to the river. Fishing allowed in both places. There is a rustic, outdoor shelter by the pond with a large fire pit and picnic tables. There is an old tool workshop overlooking the pond.

On your walks, visit our old church event space and library, The Portico, where you can study and use the Wi-Fi. Laundry facilities also available at The Portico.

You have the entire to cabin to yourselves. Our own home is also located on the property, further down the driveway, not visible from the cabin. We are around to assist you with any needs. Wi-Fi available nearby on our property, in The Portico.

Finding it was very easy and Lee and Amy were so kind to meet me and show me around when I arrived. Every detail of the cabin is thoughtfully curated to give you a feel of leaving the stress and rush of today behind for something simpler. If you're used to big luxury cabins with high tech and modern amenities, this is not it. But what you do get is a time for quiet connection with yourself or partner, a chance to rid yourself of distractions, and a step toward peace and serenity. I enjoyed cooking on the little kitchenette stove and eating breakfast on the porch while I watched a family of 7 or 8 deer play in the field. There's an easy walking path around the property that gives beautiful views of a pond. At night you can step outside and practically touch the stars on a clear night. Take something warm to sleep in and some thick socks or house shoes to keep your feet warm at night in the winter. There are fun little towns all around to visit and it's not far from a lot of historical sites. This was my favorite place to vacation so far. I will definitely plan to be back. Many thanks to Lee and Amy for their kind hospitality and ease of communication."

The private guest suite is located on the lower level of our home. Walk around the front of the house and through the honeysuckle archway to the secluded garden and patio area with a private entrance with keypad entry. Upon entering, you will see a small dinette set and a cozy and colorful living space with fireplace. Down the hall is the queen-size guest bedroom and around the corner is the breakfast kitchenette and full bath.

We have a flock of 4 backyard chickens on site behind the rental property. The chickens will remain in their coop during your stay. Please feel free to go say hi to them! We do not have any roosters, so there's no noise save for a few happy clucks.

NOTES:

- It should be noted that we do occupy the home in the floors above, along with our two children. We value your privacy as well as our own. We've created the space to allow you to feel as much autonomy as humanly possible. Should you need anything at all, we are only a call or text away!

- BREAKFAST KITCHENETTE: There is a refrigerator, a microwave, a toaster, and coffee goodies provided for you! We do not have a stove or oven and no kitchen sink. We will provide a "bus bucket" that you can place dirty dishes in and place outside so we can clean them and return them to you. We have provided dish soap and sponges for cleaning cups and plates that have been wiped clean in the bathroom sink.

- KIDDOS: the guest bedroom can also accommodate an infant or small child sleeping in a portable crib. (pack-n-play not provided)

This adorable split-level cottage-style home is located in the heart of downtown Watkinsville, Georgia, and is the perfect rental home for your Georgia game-day weekend, a weekend trip or visiting for the holidays. You can avoid the traffic on gameday weekends and take an Uber or Lyft directly to downtown Athens or Sanford Stadium! With three unique bedrooms and three bathrooms (two full), this house can accommodate families or groups of friends. There are two artistically designed bedrooms upstairs, one featuring a queen-sized bed, the other featuring a queen-sized bed with a lofted twin bed, both with adjacent bathrooms. The third bedroom is downstairs near the common areas and features a double/twin bunk bed, and a half bath.
Both full bathrooms have a tub/shower combo and there are linens and towels available for use.

When I first pulled into the drive, it was like visiting my grandparents house with flower gardens, white picket fence in the back, large yard and vintage outbuildings. Plenty of outdoor seating on the deck plus a screened in porch. As you walk into the house, the kitchen is nicely furnished with a vintage feel but modern conveniences. The Hardwood floors are beautiful and there are antiques but also comfortable furniture that give you the best of both worlds. Renee, the owner was in contact immediately to make sure I had everything I needed. Watkinsville is a beautiful, quiet town with great restaurants and shops, but the countryside is absolutely incredible. It's only about 12 minutes to Athens, if you need anything more. - "We absolutely loved our day! David and Becky the owners are so friendly and accommodating! This house was perfect for our younger kids to go swimming and enjoy the outdoors. For the adults we mainly came so we could set up a tailgate at UGA. We also had the grandparents with us. The house is close enough to the university that people could easily make runs back-and-forth or if they wanted to leave the tailgate earlier they could just come and eat and head back to the house, and continue doing this wonderful retreat. But I honestly cannot say enough about the owners. We met them once we got there, and David continued to reach back out anytime we needed anything. He truly made this day. Absolutely perfect for us! Keep in mind that this house is a lake house in a quiet wooded area. There are some spiders and bugs that are unavoidable, especially around the pool area. But that’s totally expected given the setting. My youngest one absolutely loved looking at the spiders outside lol. The rooms in the house are huge! And the closet space in each room probably could fit a small air mattress or pack and play for infants. We will definitely be coming back again!"
