I was charged a significant fee upon leaving as I moved two chairs to two different rooms to accommodate our needs and moved two beds in one room to a different wall in the other room :( owner has every right to the rules. I am not complaining about that. I read all the rules when I got there and all rules before discharge, but did not notice the furniture rule upon discharge. They're welcome to experience freedom, exploring the surrounding woods, fields and creek. If you can't trust your dog off-leash, don't bring it. If your dog can’t be a good guest, you both will be asked to leave. Our dog has been attacked by visiting pets and it won’t happen again. $65/pet/stay (payable on arrival) to ensure the comfort of our pet-allergic guests;
- Private septic systems are only designed to process human waste and a sensible amount of toilet paper. Anything else and you will create major problems for everyone, including yourself. Therefore, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING but the above mentioned should go down the drain. As proof we care about the comfort of our guests, we supply quality toilet paper instead of the recommended single-ply, but please use it responsibly;
- Living in the woods demands cohabitation with the living creatures whose home you share. Respect their privacy and avoid them, rather than killing them or destroying their shelters;

The tipi is tucked away in the woods on a 16 acre property where secluded forests envelope the maintained grounds. You will have plenty of solitude and space to hang your headdress, with a grill to cook the day's catch (or the butcher's steak) and a hammock waiting to be swung. Yes, it's true, we supply free firewood, and marshmallows as well.

We would like to point out that tipis were designed for use on the sunny, open plains. Since ours is in the shady woods, it will darken with age due to the acid from the trees, and because it doesn't receive the constant supply of sunlight needed to bleach them, like in the old westerns.

Guests are welcome to use the glider by our garden to catch the Wi-Fi. They are also welcome to utilize the fridge in the laundry room and to escape from inclement weather in the sunroom adjoining their bathhouse.

The tipi is in use all year but bear in mind that temperature appropriate clothing is required. Don't show up in winter wearing shorts and expect to be comfortable as it won't happen. Long underwear, caps, gloves and warm jackets are mandatory.

The meals we provide on request are not exactly cheap as the price covers visiting various local farms, fetching organic ingredients, carefully preparing food and serving it warm to the doorstep or bed of the tipi, at any time you like. But we promise our meals won't only fill the stomachs, without exception people remember them as some of their best dining experiences.

Our cabin A is located just one mile off of Hwy 21. They are just 2 miles from the Fort Davidson Civil War Museum and Park in Pilot Knob, MO. The property has spectacular views from a rustic front porch. It is perfect for a couples getaway, family vacation, or small business retreat! This property is very unique because it is located a mile from town yet it is very private. You can enjoy the sounds of nature, listen to the frogs, and the crickets and look up at the stars while you have great conversations with your loved ones. Sitting around the fire is also a plus while toasting marshmallows!
The four bedroom cabin has a modern kitchen with microwave, stainless steel full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, toaster, coffee maker and oven. The kitchen is stocked with pots & pans and cooking utensils. This cabin also has modern bathrooms plus central heating and air. Bedding and towels provided. Master bedroom has a king sized bed. Second bedroom has a queen sized bed, the third bedroom has a full-sized bed, and the fourth bedroom has a twin trundle bed.

The Olde Homestead just newly remodeled offers many amenities and is perfectly located in the country just on the outskirts of city limits with easy access right off Hwy 21 on a very short dead-end lane. A large deck in front, a patio in the back and a fire pit under the trees allow you to enjoy the great outdoors, gaze up at the stars in the night sky, listen to the sounds of nature and possibly see a deer or turkey. The garage is where you can keep your bicycles and it even contains a ping pong table equipped with the paddles and balls to play games during those rainy days.
This three bedroom home has been completely remodeled including new kitchen cabinets and appliances including microwave, stainless steel full-sized refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, blender and mixer. The kitchen is stocked with pots and pans and cooking utensils or use the charcoal grill outside. The house also has 2 modern and updated bathrooms. One has a shower and the master bathroom has a tub/shower combination. All new bedding and towels are provided. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed and the other 2 bedrooms have full-sized beds. The laundry room has a brand-new washer and dryer and a cabinet full of fun board games.

The house was pet friendly but you definitely couldn't tell there are ever animals in the house. It was great for our little dogs. And the backyard is fenced in...perfect. I noticed other houses in the area had firepits. This one did not but the property manager allowed us to bring one. The patio was perfect for a small firepit and there were plenty of chairs. The kitchen was fully stocked...crockpot, griddle, you name it. We are already talking about staying again. There were several local trails we didn't get to. If you stay, be sure to check out the fresh squeezed lemonade at Iron Dogs...1 block away, and the street tacos at Checos...1 block in the other direction. Stop thinking about it and book it already... it's worth it!"

- "My mother came into town for my 40th birthday and i really didnt want her sleeping on the pull-out or at a super 8. I looked into rentals and found this place just 2 towns over. Worked out great! Less then a mile from the grocery store, dollar store and convenience station. Few miles from downtown park hills with a couple small shops, few bar and grills, micro brewery and at times some food trucks. The house itself was just what i needed. One bedroom has an attached full bath and walk in closet which was perfect for my mother. Full kitchen, king size beds and a tv in each room. Has a little back patio with grill, fire ring with seating and fully fenced in yard. With it being a pet friendly home the floors are concrete, which makes perfect sense for easy cleaning if accidents happen, but be sure to bring slippers. Summers can get very dry. Please tend to your campfires and keep them under control. We ask that any off road vehicles stay on the roads. No off-roading. Please respect neighboring land. You are welcome to explore our property but mind the property lines. OnX maps is a good app to have to know where the next property line is. Lock gate when leaving. Have fun and enjoy the woods!

We loved the location, too, as it was close to numerous hiking trails and a few local restaurants, yet far enough away to feel secluded for that mountain feel. We would definitely book here again!" - "The A frame cabin is cozy and modern in the middle of a beautiful setting in the woods. Off the beaten path and also easy to find. The outside fire pit and lighting was so peaceful and lovely. The space is meant for 1 or 2 people. Small and cozy with a bit of a climb to get to the super comfy bed. If mobility issues it may be a problem. Will be back for sure!"

Hiking, mountain biking, four wheeling, horseback riding, fishing, boating and more can be found with a half hour drive. Johnson Shut ins State park is a natural water wonderland. Elephant Rocks State Park has wonderful hiking trails and there are many, many lakes and streams in the area.
This property is perfect for a family or group of folks. The Caledonia community center and barn are within walking distance for events, weddings, or family reunions. The large kitchen makes cooking and visiting easy and comfortable. There is lots of room for a game of volley or spike ball, several sitting areas for conversations. There is a screened in area for hot summer nights and cool drink.
Just down the road is Roma's Food and Drink which offers beer, wine, pizza, gluten free pizza, wings, quesadillas, salads, gourmet mac and cheese and pulled pork. Roma's is a great place to eat with your children. The outdoor area has games for kids and adults.
The Old Village Hotdog Shoppe has dogs galore and just to name a few, the Viking Dog, Plant Based Dogs, Spaghetti Dog plus nachos and salad. Visit Caledonia, enjoy the local color and food plus get a taste of history.
