Our home comes furnished to sleep 5, 1 king size, 1 queen, and 1 twin murphy bed. One full bath with main entrance and can also enter from master bedroom, detachable shower head and cabinet with soft close drawers and some toiletry items.

Just bring the food! The kitchen is fully equipped with coffee maker, dishes, utensils, dishwasher, microwave, oven, stove, refrigerator, toaster oven, griddle, blender, a kitchen island, pantry items, and washer/dryer. There is a propane heated fireplace, (Oct-May), a ceiling fan and skylight in the living room.

We provide Roku TV, so if you have a fire stick or any other streaming device/service, please bring it. Excellent WI-FI service is available, and we do get great phone reception with most carriers. Towels, pillows, blankets & linens provided.

Outside: deck off kitchen, backyard with fire pit, picnic table & propane grill. Deer wander onto the property daily, so get your cameras ready. They will pose for you, but please don't feed them.

We recently added 2 exterior cameras to monitor compliance with our house rules. One is located in the driveway, the other faces the deck. Any attempt at disabling, redirecting or obscuring the cameras is prohibited and will result in full forfeiture of the security deposit.

WINTER MONTHS: We're only about 15 minutes to Shawnee for the ski season. The indoor pool, sauna and steam room is open Sat. & Sun. from 12pm-4pm in the Clubhouse for our guests.

I saw about six or seven of them in the backyard and so I went onto the deck and I just talked to the biggest one and she literally came walking over toward me, at that point, I grabbed the Hunter’s mix of nuts and seeds and took it outside and was so pleasantly surprised when she literally came and ate out of my hand. Wow, the restaurants were not super close, it is in the mountains, we found some really nice ones to enjoy a couple good dinners And I actually ventured over the Dingmans ferry bridge for the first time. One of the bad highlights was the bed in the loft is at the very best on its last leg, and probably needs to be replaced after spending one night on the bed my husband has been in a bit of back pain to say the least. We wound up sleeping in one of the smaller beds on the first floor for our second night all in all it was a very nice pleasant stay and a very nice way to spend 24 years together as we cuddled on the couch. After years of marriage, literally reconnecting, sitting on a couch and cuddling, doesn’t happen very often. Had the weather been a little more cooperative. We are planning on going to Bushkill Falls and even going for some nice walks in the woods but but when it rains, it kind of puts a damper on your plans, but all in all a very romantic location with beautiful scenery and beautiful lake to look at and lots of little creatures to watch scurrying around the grounds"

The master bedroom in the upstairs loft has its own bathroom/shower and has a lovely view of the woods. The first floor offers two additional bedrooms, a full bath, and an open concept living area with rich knotty pine walls, gas fireplace, dining area and kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped, including Keurig, drip coffee maker and dishwasher. You’ll want to enjoy the finished basement that features a second TV, pool table, dartboard, game table, and plenty of games! There's also a washer & dryer available to guests. Spending time outdoors is a highlight of staying at the Chalet. The deck stretches the entire front of the house, providing day views of the woods, sounds of the running stream, and evening star gazing. Our deck features new seating & tables, a gas grill, and a new hot tub that can be enjoyed year round. And the large grassy yard is perfect for pets or recreation and features a fire pit with Adirondack chairs.

Our favorite feature of the property is the pond, which is a beautiful sanctuary just a few dozen steps down the wooded path. Sit and enjoy a coffee or tea while listening to the waterfall that leads to the stream, watch the birds, look for the bullfrogs at the water's edge, or see if you can spot a deer passing through the woods. You'll be amazed at how much time you can spend doing nothing!

Venture beyond the Chalet to enjoy all that the area has to offer. The charming town of Milford is just 15 minutes away with restaurants, boutique shops, the Grey Towers mansion, and the newly restored Milford Theater. The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area neighbors the property, and features over 100 miles of hiking trails, including 6 great waterfall trails within 10 minute drive of the Chalet. The park also offers canoeing/kayaking, swimming, cycling, cross-country skiing, picnicking, and fishing with a valid state license. Five golf courses and Shawnee Mountain Ski area are within a 30-minute drive. George W. Child's part is 1.2 miles from our home and just reopened with spectacular waterfall views - it's a local treasure open again after a 6 year renovation!

The first floor also has two bedrooms (one queen size and one full size) and one bathroom. The second floor master bedroom has a queen size bed, walk-in closet, and a 47” LCD TV and VCR. The spacious master bathroom rounds out the second floor, and has a sauna, shower, and whirlpool tub that fits two very comfortably.

The whole house has central air so even on the hottest days you can stay cool inside. The basement has a washer, dryer, pool table, and a small gym with 3 exercise machines.

I provide freshly cleaned sheets, blankets, and towels. The house is always immaculate because I have a cleaning service that comes right before you arrive.

- "This was a beautiful spot, very spacious and clean. It was extremely easy communicating with the host; and the whole stay was smooth sailing. I was able to bring my dog and he felt right at home. There was a beautiful backyard to hang out in, and some fun things like a pool table inside. The upstairs bath/jacuzzi was such a nice addition. It was nice to relax after walking around the waterfalls all day. I wish I would have planned better with food because the kitchen was really well set up and there weren’t many great options for dining out. Would definitely book here again."

Little Bear can sleep 4-5 in 2 bedrooms plus a comfy fold out couch. In warm weather a plush king size airbed can sleep 2 more on the screen porch.

The eat-in kitchen is stocked with everything you need to prepare meals. There's a supermarket 5 minutes away and the nearby town of Milford has some great restaurants -- ask us for recommendations.

The extra-large screened porch is perfect for a summer dinner party or lazing away the afternoon with a good book. Or make your coworkers jealous on Zoom -- fast wifi makes Little Bear ideal for a working vacation too.

- "What a great time we had! Everything we needed and more. Clean, quiet and great driving distance from Shawnee Mountain and local restaurants. Spacious and spread out! Fully stocked kitchen was great. Everything was great from start to finish. We are ready to book another trip back! Only wish we stayed longer!" - "Home was clean and set up ready for us to use. The master bed was comfortable and had plenty of pillows (bring more pillow cases) and there were two sets of towels in each bedroom (I use two towels for hair and body, bring more towels if you do same). Dogs enjoyed the smells of the neighborhood which is a woodsy gated community which reminded us of home. The TV had cable and house had internet all up and functioning. We would stay again if we are welcomed back."

The cottage is nestled among high hemlocks facing Dingmans Creek, which can be heard gurgling night and day. After duty as a stable and carriage house the barn was converted to living quarters sometime in the 1950s. It was renovated in 2001 and won Better Homes and Garden’s Home Improvement Contest and was featured as their cover story in October 2002. The guidelines for the renovation were to “preserve the irreplaceable.”

The lower level has two fireplaces. The one in the living room is wood burning and the one in the kitchen is gas. The walls and floors are primarily stone and the living room's vaulted ceiling is 30 feet high. The six skylights allow guests to enjoy sun, rain and snow.

The loft has a magical bedroom with windows that overlook the creek. The cottage was featured in Better Homes and Gardens, Good Housekeeping and Wood Beautiful. It was also used as a location for Hallmark Cards 2005 Christmas card collection.

OUR HOME:
We are located in the private 5-star gated community of Saw Creek Estates, where there is something for everyone! The community has so much to offer including an abundance of amenities and events that you will have access to.

Once you enter our home you are welcomed into the living room area, entertainment, dining area & kitchen. The kitchen is fully stocked with all your cooking and dining needs.

Our home also has a full supply of linens, towels, starter kit of toilet paper & paper towels, cleaning supplies, laundry needs, and basic toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, body wash! Towels for amenities are NOT provided.

Saw Creek has a great team of ski instructors who will teach you kids (or you) how to ski. Saw Creek also has members of the National Ski Patrol that help ensure a fun and safe environment. A great place for kids to learn and feel safe without crowds. Parents can enjoy the "Ski Lodge" in the Top of the World Restaurant and watch the kids. Open during the winter season on Saturdays & Sundays, from 9:00am to 4pm; Ski Hill Conditions Permitting (lift/rental fees apply; paid in cash at ski shop).
Saw Creek has a complete ski shop that is open when the trails are. They provide ski and snowboard rentals. The well-trained staff will fit you and your family with the correct equipment and adjust the settings for a fun day on the mountain. Need a good waxing? No problem. The ski engineers will maximize your performance!

-Top of the World pool is the primary pool within Saw Creek Estates. It is the largest and also offers a poolside Tiki Bar, snack bar and a full restaurant. Plenty of lounges to relax and enjoy the sun.
Mill Pond pool offers quiet setting with picnic tables and adjacent access to the beach, boating and indoor pool.
"The hidden pool", Mountainside offers a peaceful hideout for sitting around the pool and reading a good book or just plain relaxing.
The VIP pool is located in the "Heart of town" near the tennis courts, basketball courts, pond and playground.

The home has an electronic keypad lock on the door for ease of entry. The house also has a well-lit private driveway with room for about 4 cars. You will have access to the entire home except for one locked owner's closet. You can also enjoy all community amenities and events with 4 amenity fobs included in your stay.

- "Very good" - "We truly enjoyed our short stay in this wooded community. Not only was the interior one of the cleanest places we have rented, but the beds were extremely comfortable! Showers had good water pressure. Upon our arrival, it took a bit to cool down the living spaces, but the owners also provide extra fans in the smaller guest room which helped -after a while they were not needed. Evening rain prevented us from using the fire pit, but wood had been provided. The front deck is weathered, but still a nice place to sit outside and enjoy coffee. The house location is close to the road, however we barely saw any cars pass by. It is also a short drive to the Top of the World community restaurant & activity center, as well as a visit to nearby Bushkill Falls and Treeventures ropes course. The only thing other thing to point out is that taller folks may have a tricky time on the short-backed sofa. We always bring a higher back camping chair…just in case. Overall - it was a relaxing getaway!!"

This is a special home where you can be in nature, at the edge of the National Forest and listen to the sounds of the Sawkill Creek and yet walk into town to eat, shop, etc. It is less than .5 miles to Log Tavern Brewery and La Posada.

- "Went with my mother, sister, and two young nieces for a long weekend to visit the cemetery and the surrounding areas where our relatives used to live. I do not think that we could have picked a better location to stay. The location was the very definition of "Almost completely secluded while being right outside of town." It sounds cliché, I know, but we all thought while there that the pictures did not do the place justice. It was very open and spacious, our group never felt like we were tripping over each other. Our schedule was packed enough so we did not have the time to experience all the house had to offer, but the consensus was it would have been nice to have planned extra days to relax at the property especially because the outdoors of the property was so peaceful and well-maintained. The house rules were very clear and that made check-out a breeze; the host was very responsive to the few questions I had. Would not hesitate to return!"

The house was setup well throughout with everything you would need too cook and relax. First off, the house is place nicely in the development at the top of the hill. It's got a nice property with neighbors in sight but not too close. We didn't have any fresh snow but I bet it would be fun to snowshoe around and explore.We went in the winter skiing so it was nice to have a cozy place to come home too. If you are a skier or boarder, Shawnee is like 20 minutes away. There are a number of nice restaurants within 15 minutes if you really need to go out to eat. The private mountain is like a 2 minute drive away. It's a nice mountain with a nostalgic chalet lodge with nice local employees. The Ski Patrol team does a nice job interacting with all who come to ski and board. This local gem is a nice place to just take the family for some catch up time while avoiding the congested lift lines. We took 4 kids aged 9-11 and they had a blast skiing all day. Horseback riding is a nice break right up the hill from the ski lodge also if you need a breather. House-Each room has it's own thermostat so you could regulate the temperature for all parties. It's got 2 decks with chairs and space so I imagine relaxing during the other seasons is enjoyable. WiFi on site worked great and allowed us to check ski conditions at all the local mountains(5 within 45-55 minutes). Washer/Dryer setup is a nice add. In the summer we hope to revisit for a kayaking/hiking trip as the Delaware Water Gap, Forrest, and Bushkill Falls areas are in close proximity. Thanks to the owners as they made this an easy pick to return too in the future. 2/16 "

- "The place was great, huge space for all. A total of 3 bedrooms. Comfortable beds. The kitchen was immaculate so was the living room. You can enjoy your Netflix and Prime if you have an account. The owner (Gershon) was extremely accommodating and responded when we’ve texted him. The Falls are literally right there for viewing with a nice boardwalk and hill top for taking some cool photos. The deck in the back of the house is facing the woods and is perfect for your morning coffee! There is also a small creek if you go down the hill from the deck.

- "Going into this stay, I knew the house was tired so had adjusted expectations. It was perfect size for a family of three, comfortably warm in the cold weather, and had comforts of home (netflix, smart tvs, etc). The biggest downside was the downstairs bathroom - the tub appeared to be used/unclean since there were multiple pieces of hair in it. I couldn't find anything to scrub it down with, and also noticed the drain was slow/clogged when I attempted to clean it. I was also disappointed to see that there were moldy, used sponges left by the sink in the kitchen. I discarded them and bought sponges to replace them with that we left in the packaging. The back door has issues locking, which was a little bit unnerving but "worked" with the toe tap."

The house is situated on the block where the famous Blue Bridge is held. The bridge features views of the waterfall that hosts an amazing swimming hole for sunny summer days, which guests can access. A hiking trail can also be found just at the end of the bridge. The hike concludes with a beautiful view of the whole town.

**Ursa Major is at the top of a hill with a badly maintained dirt/gravel road. Use caution and drive slowly!
In winter the road is not always passable to cars without 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive. 4 wheel/all wheel drive is a MUST if you are planning a visit in snowy or icy conditions.
