For the taller folks, keep in mind there is less headspeace for anyone over 5'9" but we made it work. the backyard is either a grassy hill or rocks. I say this because if you have younger kids who might want to play catch or kick a soccer ball, the best spot is on the front grass. Lastly, the house sits on a main road. While not highly trafficked, it still had some big pick ups and cars flying down the road. Friends sleeping upstairs said they were warm but had to leave the windows closed when sleeping because of the noise. All this being said, the house was nicely appointed and very comfortable for us. We were within 15 minutes of the state park which was great. The owner was very kind and responsive to any questions we had. Would definitely stay here again if we are ever back in the area."

This beautiful place has the master bedroom with queen bed, open kitchen and livingroom, and bathroom with tub/shower and washer/dryer on the first floor.

The loft upstairs has two twin beds in the first bedroom and a Queen/single bunk in the other bedroom. The loft bathroom has a shower.

All rooms have overhead fans and some extras.

Surrounding roads are ATV permissible.

The second floor has a queen bed and two full size beds as well as a couch and seating area with flat screen TV and DVD player to get away. Cabin sleeps a maximum of 6.

Yet the hosts told us that they would replace it before or right after we arrived. We thought wow, that is very thoughtful of them to place such importance on a coffee marker which wasn't a big deal to us. Then when we arrived I understood why the host placed such importance on that coffee maker. The cabin's set up was awesome. The inside decor made you feel like you were are home......nice and cozy! The property was great! Even though you are near the road it was nice and quiet. From the swing on the front porch to the fire pit set up a short distance from the cabin. The place was a slice of heaven. You got to stay here!!!! I want to thank the hosts for their generosity and hospitality from my family to theirs. Thank you so very much!"

The Cabin is equipped with a whole house Generac emergency generator. No mater what the weather conditions, you will always have power!!!

Summer rentals are a minimum of 5 nights. Time is allotted for proper cleaning between guests.

Our cabin sits atop a hill overlooking the surrounding landscape. Very private and secluded with natures beauty to relax with. Watching the birds fly as you look down at them is unique. The big sky giving you some breath taking views. 60 acres to hike and see the wildlife not to mention some of the best sunsets that you’ll ever see

Plenty of space for parking or tents. Also upon request a visit to the horse barn for a close up encounter with the horses for those that may be interested
Other things to note
It is recommended that guests bring drinking water. The lane to the cabin is steep and a little bumpy so vehicle ground clearance is recommended. During the winter months 4 wheel drive may be necessary. As we have in a handful of times we offer parking and assistance to get to the cabin in extreme cases at no extra charge. The cabin is heated with a wood burner (firewood provided) and a supplemental propane fireplace in the bedroom.

Kayaking, fishing, and swimming just steps away from our front door. If you love the outdoors, this is the place. Off grid but with gas heating, stove, lights, and fridge. Running water from our outdoor sink brings in fresh spring water from the creek. Plenty of room to cozy up around the firepit. And our outdoor privy is close but not too close to the front door. Guest Access
Guests will have exclusive access to the entirety of the cabin, including the deck, the surrounding outside area, and the parking spot. Guests are welcome to walk around the property, enjoy the walking trail, and use the other common yard areas as desired, while respecting other guests.

Alpine Abode is one of five cabins located atop Heartwood Mountain, a beautiful local ridgeline overlooking the local forest and game lands of the PA Wilds. While each cabin offers privacy, you will have neighbors, though this will in no way detract from your nature experience.

Things to Note:
• Pet fee must be paid prior to arrival and noted on your reservation.
• Winter Message: 4WD or AWD is strongly recommended in winter (Dec–March) due to snow. Roads are plowed and salted, but conditions can vary.
