A beach cottage, as close to the natural habitat as possible in Cape May Point, a TRUE BIRD LOVERS PARADISE ! Only one property is between this home and the Alexander Avenue Beach access with wonderful views of the Delaware Bay, Sunset Beach and the Cape May/Lewes Ferry path. Open floor plan on level one with dining area, living room, kitchen with an island and one bedroom (queen)/ full bathroom (tiled shower stall). Second floor offers spectacular Delaware Bay and Sunset Beach views with a deck, two additional bedrooms, sitting area with a queen size sleeper, bathroom with soaking tub. One bedroom has (2) Twin Beds, Primary bedroom (King Bed) has a small space attached with a twin day bed that offers additional sleeping arrangements. "Cambridge Cottage" is the perfect location for your Cape May Point get away. Come and see why Cape May Point is the county's best kept secret. Less crowded and noisy than the city, it is a quick walk to beautiful ocean beaches, bike riding, nature trails and it has a park and lake down the street. It is peaceful, with little traffic and very walkable.A couple of blocks away is the new Cape May Point Science Center housed in the historic St Mary's and offering interesting programs from all ages.

The cottage retains it's original classic 1940s charm with all the modern amenities to make your stay comfortable and relaxing- central A/C, ceiling fans, fully heated for colder days, high speed internet, brand new 40" smart tv with cable channels, open kitchen/dining room with newer appliances, new sectional and sofa, there is 1 walk in indoor shower and a second large outdoor shower with attached changing area (hot and cold water), BBQ and outdoor table are right outside the kitchen which makes outdoor meals convenient.

You have your own private house and backyard that is all yours and not shared with another unit. It is light and airy and provides everything for a comfortable, enjoyable vacation. The cottage has a driveway that provides off street parking for 3 cars and there is additional street parking, if needed.

This historic home in quaint Cape May Point, named Song of the Sea, is one of the "Five Sisters" - five identical cottages built at the Point in 1875 by Dr. J. Newton Walker, son-in-law of Sea Grove (former name of Cape May Point) founder, Alexander Whilldin. This is your perfect vacation spot just steps away from the beach. Stroll down the quiet street to Surf Avenue where a sandy path leads through the trees and up over the dunes to a wide white-sand beach with the Atlantic Ocean on the left and the Delaware Bay on the right. Lifeguards protect the beach in summer. In the evenings, watch spectacular sunsets as you relax on the beach.
The property has its original hardwood floors, large walk out windows, wrap around screened porch with wicker chairs and porch swing, and open 2nd floor deck. Be aware that the stairs to the 2nd floor are original and are steep. Use both railings as you go up or down.
This 3 bedroom, 2 bath home can accommodate up to 7 people (six adults plus one child), and features a fully-equipped kitchen, dining area, five individual mini split wall air conditioners, washer/dryer, street parking, fenced in back yard with outside shower, gas grill and patio seating area. Comcast cable and internet are supplied for your entertainment. You can easily walk to Pavilion Circle, a grassy park in the center of town where people gather to play volleyball and children's games during the summer season. Watch birds and butterflies during the fall migration. You can walk or bike ride to Cape May Point State Park where there are walking trails, a double deck bird observation platform, guided tours and informative hawk demonstrations (in the fall season). The 1859 historic light house is still in operation. If you want a challenge, climb its 199 steps to be rewarded with stunning, one of a kind views, of the beaches, ocean and town. Walk to the Cape May Bird Observatory to stroll the birding trails behind the building. Inside is a great resource of birding information plus shopping for your birding needs. Lily Lake, in front of the Bird Observatory, hosts many bird and aquatic species.

The host is easy to communicate with and the house has a detailed information book. There is plenty of room inside the house and a backyard, a screen porch, and an upper deck for stargazing. The house sleeps three comfortably with a an open airy high ceiling and you are right in the middle of Cape May Point's prime birding nature area. We are nestled away down a bamboo lane, our cottage has a murphy bed on first floor and a loft bedroom plus a huge great room with a renovated kitchen and A Birders and nature lovers alike will not want to miss spring and fall at the bamboo cottage.

There is a private deck with its overhead pergola and gas grill. You just need to get on your bike and head down the road about a half mile to Cape May Point State Park to a private cove and beach. A private stay at the shore on a tree lined street.

Two year old granddaughter loved the cherry tomatoes and blueberries in the yard. Good outdoor space, although more mosquitoes than expected as we were closer to the lake than we had stayed before. This 1920's beach bungalow updated in the 1960's, third generation in the same family owned by three sisters and a brother, centrally located in Cape May Point on the flyway for migrating birds and monarch butterflies. The high peaked ceiling of the open floor plan living/dining room with a galley kitchen to one side make this 465 sq. foot house feel spacious and cozy at the same time. With two small bedrooms, each containing a single/twin bed and a full-size futon sofa bed in the living room this welcoming house sleeps four persons. Two porches on either side of the house, an outdoor shower, and a gas grill outside of the kitchen add outdoor living space in the incomparable township of Cape May Point.
The large living room window overlooks Pavilion Circle Park. When the outdoors beckons the house is two short blocks to the beach on the Delaware Bay with life guards during the swimming season. A two block walk in the other direction take you to Lilly Lake, otherwise know as "The Duck Pond." A mere half mile takes you to Cape May Point State Park and it's nature walks. The Victorian City of Cape May, with it's restaurants, shopping, historical attractions, ocean beaches and night life is just over 2 miles away.

LAYOUT: The house has an upside-down layout, with 4 bedrooms on the 1st floor and the kitchen, living room and dining room on the 2nd floor. There are two, brand-new full bathrooms; one on each floor. Downstairs has a bathtub and shower; upstairs has a shower only. See photos for floor plans.

Coral Pines is one short block from the beach and is situated on a large piece of property. It has a fully equipped kitchen and an open floor plan. You can see the beach entrance from the front walk. The master bedroom, on the second floor, has a private sitting area for watching television or reading and a private deck bordered by pine trees where you can look at the stars at night. During the day you can lounge on the deck instead of heading to the beach with the rest of the group. There is a den on the first floor where there is some privacy to read a book or check email while others gather in the spacious, sunny living room. The backyard is accessed from the den and is very private. It has a patio with patio furniture and a gas grill. You can actually bird watch from the back yard. You won't be spending much time indoors. When you're not on the beach, you can take a short stroll or a bike ride to the Lighthouse and the State Park. Bring your bikes - the Point is bike heaven. Cape May Point beaches are beautiful. You can walk along the beach to the famous concrete ship or go in the opposite direction for a walk to historic Cape May.

This historic Painted Lady circa 1879 retains her gracious room and window proportions to catch ocean breezes. The first floor is never rented on this over-sized lot with award-winning flower beds providing beauty in spring, summer, and fall. Enjoy use of a gas grill. Read a great book on the traditional open veranda with wicker furniture.

Experience the ambiance of the Victorian era with vintage furniture and room details. The master bedroom has four tall windows for ocean breezes, a traditional dresser, and dressing table. The sitting room has a new lounge sofa, a comfortable armchair, flat screen TV, and two windows. The kitchen is a large eat-in kitchen with three tall windows that catch the cross breezes. Each room has a mini-split for air conditioning or heating.

Enjoy the Victorian bathroom with a large claw foot tub for delightful soaking. And for those who like showers, there is an enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold water.

For sleeping arrangements, the master bedroom has a queen size bed; the sofa in the sitting room may be set up as full/queen size bed; and there is an inflatable twin mattress that can can be set up in the sitting room or in the kitchen. (But don't forget to bring your own bed and bath linens.)

The upstairs rental unit has a separate entrance.

Centrally located at the Point, simply walk a block to the Circle, the Post Office, or a beach entrance. There is a guarded beach at the foot of the street.

On the other side of the kitchen is a laundry area with high efficiency washer and dryer and another full size bathroom and the 2nd den. On the third floor is the master bedroom which is open and overlooks the great room below. It has a queen size bed, desk and there is a cozy sitting area, great for curling up with a book, a full size bathroom with a large soaking tub. The third outdoor area is a porch off the master bedroom. This is an amazing opportunity to rent in a very desirable neighborhood that is very close to the beach. We have a no sand in the house policy. Everyone must use the outdoor shower after coming from the beach.

• Feel free to use house phone for local and unlimited long distance calls at no charge. No international calls please.
• Trash and recycling pick-up on MONDAY. Leave barrels at curb on Sunday after 3 PM and no later than Monday 5:30 AM. Replace barrels beside porch after pick-up, NO LATER than 7:00 PM Monday. The borough actually issues tickets if trash containers are put out too early or removed from curb too late. All paper, cardboard, cans, bottles, and plastics 1-7 must be recycled in the large RED barrel or red tub (single-stream mixed recycling). You may be taking out previous tenant’s trash, but someone will be doing this for you. Thank you!
• Cape May Point also has a trash and recycling drop off center, if you have more trash than the containers can accommodate. It is open Wednesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. until Noon, and on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. It is located on Sunset Blvd, on the left side of the road leaving CMP and driving towards Sunset Beach.
• Cushions for covered porch furniture are in entry closet.
• Mattress cover and pillows for ground floor futon are in the first floor bedroom closet. (The bedroom with the queen bed)
• We have a tankless water heater so hot water takes a long time to start. Don’t give up, the hot water will come.
• Please hand-wash wooden utensils and knives with wooden handles.
• Whirlpool tub on third floor can be used, but the pump motor does not operate.
• Please avoid bringing sand in the house. Use outdoor shower when returning from beach. The shower has low faucets for just washing feet.
• Do not lower air conditioning thermostat below 73 degrees during high humidity, or the air handler will freeze and require defrosting
• WiFi available throughout house and front porch with Access Point SSID: “KNOX307” (2.4 GHz band), and “KNOX307-5G” (5 GHz band), WPA2 passcode: “capemaypoint”

• There are 4 full-season beach tags for Cape May Point on kitchen window sill. PLEASE return these when you leave or you will be charged for new tags which cost $100 each. Tags are required from Memorial Day until Labor Day. Children under 12 are free. Cape May city beaches use separate beach tags. Lighthouse Beach State Park is free, with hiking trails, but no swimming is permitted, just wading. Higbee Beach State Park (on Delaware Bay) is also free.
• If you use the outdoor gas grill, close the valve on the propane tank when done. The igniter may not work so use long lighter at right side opening to start. One of these lighters should be located in kitchen island drawer.
• Portable Bluetooth radio available on kitchen counter- hold blue tooth button to sync with device
• Cable TV available with premium movie channels as well and Blu-Ray DVD player below cable box – available downstairs as well
• Fire extinguisher on kitchen counter.
• Futon in sitting room next to kitchen is very difficult to open and close, so we have not counted this as bed space.
• Washer and dryer in closet next to kitchen. Use very little detergent as this is high efficiency. We simply pour the detergent directly into tub as it is difficult to access the dispenser cup.

When Leaving…
• Summer: Set thermostat to 75 degrees COOL with fan “on”. Leave all ceiling fans on “low” and bedroom doors open for ventilation. Close windows and lower shades. Leave sliding door to enclosed porch open about 6 inches for some ventilation.
• Winter: Set thermostat to 55 degrees HEAT with fan “on”. Leave all ceiling fans on “low” and bedroom doors open for ventilation. Close windows and lower shades.
• Leave door to washing machine open to dry.
• Turn off faucet for outdoor hose.
• Leave beach tags in bowl on window sill over kitchen sink
• Bathroom light dimmer switch on first floor should be fully off.

- "This house suited our need very well. We had two kids and four adults. There are plenty of bathrooms and bedrooms. The couch was a little annoying because it isn’t a full piece and the cushions slide apart. When you have a toddler all of their toys somehow end up in the separated part! Whenever we had a question or concern the property manager and the owner were helpful and immediately available. And the house is so close to the beach! We really enjoyed our stay."

You can see the beach entrance from the front porch or stroll right down to the park. This is the best location in Cape May Point. Beautiful old Victorian with a new, fresh clean, comfortable inside. Our beach house is super clean and we pride ourselves on that. It makes for really easy living, just how you should have it on your vacation. Come and enjoy 'The Mayor's House' and make some fabulous memories to last a lifetime.

Our children grew up spending summers here. Nestled in a sweet little neighborhood just one block from a beautiful park and one block to the beach path. A perfect spot to bike, walk, swim & relax.

Downstairs with lovely sitting room and kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. Only downside there is there is no ac in the kitchen, only a ceiling fan. But, definitely not a deal breaker. All other rooms have window ac units. There was a couple of things with cleanliness when we arrived, but Debi was fabulous and responded immediately to address this. The location is beyond perfect! Steps away from the beach and beautiful sunsets every night! Alexa is there for questions/music (there is a Sonos speaker, as well, but we couldn’t figure out how to connect). The only thing I would add are some knives for cooking. All in all, a fantastic week at the beach with a wonderful and responsible host!! Would 100% recommend!!"
