Creekside is the perfect property for those that want some room to spread out. As you approach through the gate and take your first corner on the driveway you'll see the house setting near the edge of a bluff. The home is neat, modern and well stocked for your stay.

Go in, unload and get ready to play. The property has several smaller trails that are perfect for supervised children to explore. Search for the spring that appears out the side of a hill and disappears again into the ground. See if the kids can find the conjoined tree. A tree connected by a big root where one side is dead and the other flourishing. Find the fern gardens and take note how much cooler it is with the springs feeding the ferns water.

One thing you'll notice is the bridge across the creek, which incidentally never runs dry. Cross the creek and you're on a dirt road that loops or takes you to the lake which is approx. 7/10th's of a mile away. Of course you'll want to continue exploring the property before venturing away.
Walk up the steep hill or go back a ways and take the easy hill.....you'll come up near the deck that overlooks what one of our guests named "Fern Gulley". The walk back to the house area lights up at night, sitting on either of the two large decks is a purely a matter of choice.
There are almost two climate zones on this property. firstly you have the lower wet lands and then the drier upper woodlands where you'll actually find species of cacti. We have also been told by a number of bird enthusiast the viewing is quite impressive.

Creekside has room to store and turn a trailer on the "sound" coleche driveway.

We are located half way between Dallas & Houston, an hour north of The Woodlands and an hour east of Bryan, TX.

Come experience a Texas ranch the way it was intended - on horseback! Our cowboys will help you saddle one of our beautiful horses and allow as much instruction or assistance as needed for you to have a comfortable and memorable ride. Come cool off in our Farm to Market pool, for your private use at the ranch house Our cowboy pool is a 10' galvanized steel stock tank pool. It is 2' deep and perfect for adults & children to have fun and cool on in.

The house has an enclosed back deck where you will enjoy your morning coffee, a beautiful afternoon relaxing, and fantastic sunsets while watching the deer, cows, zebra and buffalo roam the exotic pasture and pose for amazing pictures. - "Awesome ranch with dogs, cattle, longhorn, horses, ponies, donkeys, peacocks, deer, birds, emu etc. and a baby kangaroo as well. There are more than 350 birds and animals. Animal lovers will adore this place. We went in December for 2 nights with family and friends. VRBO was great with booking experience. Some glitches with itinerary updates and chats. It was slow. Everyone had tons of fun at the ranch and house. Plan to take food or groceries if you don’t want to drive out again. Although, Centerville(city nearby) has got all that you would need. Check in is 4 pm, so try to reach earlier (especially in winter) to make use of the daylight.Susan the host, Ethan the guide and Cowboy are great. They are very humble and their hospitality was amazing. Susan got a taste of Indian ginger tea which my friend and his wife are experts. House is maintained well with all the amenities. Mornings are greeted by birds and deer which come near the house.. Myriad of activities feed rides, paddle boating, horseback riding, skeet shooting, miniature pony rides. These are charged as guide, animals and equipment are involved. Fishing (catch and release)can be done at leisure. You need to bring your own gear. The four big mountain dogs need special mention. They protect the ranch and the people inside. We have never seen such friendly dogs. Kids got immediately attached. Evening lights and sun are feat to the eyes. Nights are soothing with mesmerizing view of stars. We used the fire pit where kids made s’mores. We left in morning with a heavy heart and felt we could do more, spend more time the ranch. Since then, Once every few days we remember and discuss the activities and fun we had. We will be going back for sure sometime. Unforgettable experience."

This small piece of paradise sits in one of the most sought-after subdivisions on one of the most sought-after lakes in the state. The water is deep and calm. We were traveling with friends and family to a local Jack Russell Show. The area around the house was fenced in and was a great place to let the dogs play ball. The house is very nice. Something I could call home. I would recommend having mirrors in the bedrooms for the ladies to put on their makeup. Places in the bedrooms to put their suite cases on. Wash clothes - couldn't find any, and check the propane tanks to make sure the grill is usable and clean the grill. I hope we will be allowed back and we come to the Jack Russell Trial each year at this time."

Enjoy a front row seat to beautiful sunsets at the perfect getaway on Lake Limestone! The house features a large porch with a view of the lake, and inside, two dining areas, a large living room with sectional and sofa bed, four bedrooms and three full baths. You can sleep up to 12 in the bedrooms since two of them have bunk beds in addition to queen sized beds. There is room for two more on the sofa bed. Bring your own boat and launch at the public boat ramp a short drive away, then tie up at the boathouse on the property. Lake Limestone is not normally crowded, so you will have plenty of space to enjoy the water. Basic supplies are available with a fifteen-minute drive to Marquez or a five-minute boat ride to the marina.

Running Deer Retreat is a fully renovated cabin near Houston County Lake in a quiet and peaceful lakefront neighborhood. The gorgeous property is 4+ acres with beautiful soaring pines, abundant wildlife, hot tub, fire pit and more, all in a peaceful country setting. We even have a resident deer family that guests love to watch while sit and sip their morning coffee on the back patio. Inside you will find a comfortable and beautifully decorated interior with all the convenience and amenities you need for a fantastic vacation.

The property is over four acres of gently rolling meadow and pines located in the piney woods of East Texas. The outdoor space has a huge fire pit area, picnic table, patio w/ outdoor dining and grill. In addition, we have a super fun tire swing and horse shoe pits!

Inside we can sleep 6 with three bedrooms (extra 4th bedroom available for baby or toddler w/ pack n' play) and 2.5 baths.

There is plenty of bathroom space with two walk in showers. Guests are provided with travel size shampoo and shower gel in addition to emergency toiletry products in case they forget something.

There is a cozy front living room with a wood burning fireplace and a family room with a huge TV and foosball table - perfect for family fun and hanging out!

The kitchen is fully stocked and has everything you need including a COFFEE BAR, Texas-shaped waffle maker, slow cooker and electric kettle!

There is a family of deer that often travels or eats on our property. Guests love to sit on the patio with their morning coffee and watch the deer. They are very friendly and enjoy eating the salt block we left for them. Please do not approach them, but do enjoy their company!

This is the country - there will be bugs, animals and dirt! While our property is very nice, those things are present in this country setting.

- "This little cabin in the Middle-of-Nowhere-Texas was perfect. It was gorgeously decorated and so comfortable. I felt like I was at home with all the comfortable pillows and blankets. It was well stocked with more than enough paper towels, coffee, condiments, laundry detergent, fire wood, and so much more. The owners were very responsive and came quickly when we had an issue with the sink. Our kids loved playing on the tire swing, watching the stars, and hiking the property. An old, red brick building built in the early 1920’s, rebuilt and remodeled to a high standard. Come and enjoy luxurious bedding, high end linens and beautiful antique furniture. Each room can be rented, or you can rent all four rooms for family and friends. Please send me a message and we can discuss if you’d like to rent the downstairs for a rehersal dinner or bridal shower.
