Logan Springs Ranch is 142 acres of trees, trails, creeks and springs. A beautiful property for hiking, fishing or just relaxing. There is NO hunting allowed on this property. The 2140 sq. ft. home sits on top of hill overlooking a 5 acre lake. The back deck and screened in porch offer wonderful views of the lake and property. Lake and 2 ponds for catch and release fishing. Trails throughout the property are great for hiking and exploring.

Two kayaks, pedal boat, and two person bass boat with trolling motor, along with life vests, are available for use.

Seldom do you find a property that offers access to 142 wooded acres with trails for hiking and a lake for fishing. The house was recently remodeled with all new appliances and top of the line finishes. It has two master bedrooms, each with a private bath and very comfortable king size beds. The sunroom has two sleeper sofas for extra guests. There are two big screen TVs so you can watch the game while the children watch cartoons. The covered deck allows BBQ in all weather and the screened in porch allows you to enjoy the outdoors without the bugs. There is a plant nearby that at times will have some level of noise. We have no control when those times are. You cannot hear it inside the house.

Wi-fi is available but may be slow. Service quality varies depending on the provider; Verizon works best. There is a land phone line with unlimited long distance to ensure reliable communication.

Deposit:
Very sorry for the deposit requirement. Due to some past issues, we had to implement that policy. The cleaning fee is for the house interior only. The deposit includes the exterior. We want to refund your deposit, so please return boats, life vests and kayaks to their correct stored location, put boat covers back on boats, no outside litter, no trash left on dock, in general follow the instructions in the booklet left for you and return the location to the way you found it please. Thank you very much for your understanding and support to keep the ranch nice for the next guests.

You understand that swimming, hiking and the use of boats and kayaks is at your own risk and that special risks may be involved with swimming, hiking and using the boats and kayaks. You accept full responsibility for any bodily injury arising from swimming, hiking and use of the boats and kayaks and hold owner harmless. You understand there are potential dangers that swimming, hiking and the use of boats and kayaks may present to children who are not carefully supervised, as well as the danger to any person swimming, hiking or using the kayaks if a person has health risks, or if a person swims, hikes or uses the boats and kayaks while intoxicated or using any kind of drugs or medication, or while pregnant. You agree to be fully and solely responsible for any accidents you may incur. You understand the risks discussed above and agree that you will assume all responsibility for yourself and for the consequences of those in your party. The private stocked lake doesn't require a fishing license and has an available fishing pier and mini-pontoon peddle boat with trolling motor. We even have basic fishing gear in case you'd like to try your hand at catching "the big one". You are welcome to stroll all around the lake if you'd like to do a little exploring or get a some exercise. There is a 1 1/2 acre fruit orchard with fig, peach and persimmon trees as well as blackberries, blueberries and raspberries you are welcome to sample if you are staying during fruiting season.

Guest Access:
Large horseshoe drive for easy entrance and exit - perfect spot to park your RV (no electric or sewer connection available).

You will enjoy access to the entire cottage and outdoor areas.

The Neighborhood:
The cottage is located in the most convenient area in town for proximity to food (fast food and sit down restaurants are less than 5 minutes away), shopping (Walmart is les than 5 minutes in one direction and downtown vintage boutiques are less than 5 miles in the other direction), and the railroad.

Getting Around:
If you're planning on visiting Palestine, TX, you'll probably want a vehicle. The city doesn't have public transportation. Ubers are available, but not that plentiful.

Other Things to Note:
The cottage is suitable for up to 6 six, which can include a family of 6 or 3 couples.

In an effort to maintain a secure premises, the home is equipped with two exterior cameras (one on the front door and one in back above the deck). The cameras are ONLY on the exterior, and there are NO cameras on the interior.

Our cabins are the perfect place to call home away from home. The quiet country setting of our cabins is a great alternative to traditional hotel style lodging. Our guests can enjoy strolling around our 23 acres, fishing in our one acre spring fed lake, watching the chickens free range or the cows grazing in the field.

The Lonestar Duplex offers two well appointed efficiency units. Each offers a Queen size bed, dining/sitting/work area, and kitchenette. The kitchenette includes all you'll need for a quick meal: 2 burner cook top, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and basic kitchen wares. Or if you're not in the mood to cook, we are also a Bed and Breakfast so our amazing home cooked breakfast may be available for an additional fee.
The bath offers a large shower and our hand made guest amenities; Soap, Lotion, Shampoo and Conditioner made right here at The Ranch.

The Lonestar cabin overlooks the lake; has access to the community firepit and BBQ picnic area. The Picnic area has a charcoal park-style grill and picnic table.

We are not the usual Bed and Breakfast in a Victorian Home. The Dogtrot House gives you the feel of a rustic cabin retreat with the charm of a B&B stay. The Dogtrot House has 3 private rooms, each with their own full bath, and The Pantry and porches as shared common areas.

The Shady Lady is our unique version of an Old West Style Brothel room. It’s a little shady and a little lady, and a unique and romantic stay.

This beautiful room offers a Queen size bed, sitting area with Victorian sofa, small dining area, individually controlled air conditioning/heating, satellite television, and free WIFI.

The full private bath has a clawfoot bathtub with shower; guest amenities include all
linens, hair dryer, and our hand crafted soaps, shampoo, and lotions (made
right here at The Ranch at Walston Springs).

All guests share the common areas of The Dogtrot House which include the breezeway, front/back porches, the garden area and The Pantry.

The Pantry is the kitchenette area located in the breezeway. It has a refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig Coffee Maker (coffee pods and condiments are provided) for our guests use. Other shared amenities include grill with picnic area in the garden and firepit.

Our delicious home cooked breakfast is included with your stay.

Don’t forget your fishing gear! You are welcome to enjoy our 1 acre, private spring fed spring lake. No license required.

In talking with our guests, we have learned that finding short term housing or furnished housing can be challenging, so we offer our cabins for Corporate Housing or Extended Stay. Nearby employers include: Texas Department of Corrections, Sanderson Farms, Walmart Distribution Center, and Palestine Regional Medical Center.

All of our cabins offer air conditioning, satellite television, and WiFi. All of our Cabins include basic kitchenware (Dishes, Cookware, Appliances, Etc) and linens. Most cabins are small pet friendly.

The spacious kitchen is a foodies dream with a gas cooktop, double oven and farm sink with granite countertops and overlooks the family room with breakfast bar (2 bar stools). This cabin can accommodate up to four guests with a Queen Size bed in the bedroom and Futon that makes a full size bed in the living area.
