This beautiful house, built in the 1930s, was completely renovated in 2016. It is a designer house with a new interior, but with all the charm of a traditional Portuguese house. Every detail has been made with LOVE. It is located in the Banzão-Colares pine forest (Sintra), in a very private and safe area, surrounded by the beauty of Sintra forest. Wonderful beaches and many historical sites are very close. You can walk or cycle on the beach.
This two story house can accommodate 11 guests with every comfort. The first floor has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The second floor has three more bedrooms and two bathrooms. Three crib or infant beds are available upon request. There are two living rooms (one with smart tv), a dining room and a fully equipped kitchen.
The doors are open to the living room, with garden furniture, an outdoor dining table and chairs, a kitchen near the barbecue, surrounding a beautiful pool (8 X 4 Mts) WITH FENCE PROTECTION, with 8 sun loungers + 4 garden chairs with towels.
Heated pool on request (Pool heating: EUR 25 extra charge per day). Pool heating depends on weather conditions - usually possible from April until October.
We have an additional bike rental service. It's great to go to the beach and restaurants by bike.

Colares has mild winters, an ideal summer temperature which never gets too hot, the autumn is ideal too, is like a second spring.
One of the main attractions is the tramcar with a lovely journey that starts in Sintra (in Estefânia, next to the Sintra’s modern art museum), has a stop in Colares and ends in Maçãs Beach.

Another closest village is Almoçageme at 4km; here you find a rustic village with all of the typical narrowed streets, here you find coffee shops restaurants and food stores. Every Thursday morning there’s a farmer’s market, Saturday and Sunday all day.
The village is spread up the hill from the Atlantic Ocean. Adraga beach, was ranked as one of the 20 perfect European beaches’ by the Sunday Times.

On the first floor is the entrance hall, lounge / dining room, a suite with shower, 2 twin extra long bedrooms, a bathroom with shower, a fully equipped kitchen and another suite with shower.

At level 0, which is a continuation of the garden and pool area, we have a suite with a full bathroom, a second kitchen to support the barbecue and a games room with snooker, table tennis, darts and other social games for adults and children.

The exterior features a pergola with garden furniture, barbecue area with table and chairs for 16 people and a swimming pool (10 x 5 m), surrounded by wooden deck and lawn, with coverage for child protection. There is also a court for basketball, volleyball, badminton and mini-tennis, a sandy area for football, volleyball and Turnball, and a sandbox for children.

Finally, a loft with natural light and very colorful, which has four single beds, one double sofa bed and can accomodate other beds if needed. There is a corner for the little ones (with a small table and chairs, toys, etc.).

The Yellow House is ideal for families with play areas for everyone, allowing to enjoy both the beach and the mountains (both 2.5 km away).

When you swap through the photos you might believe that it can not be like shown but it actually is as beautiful. A beautiful garden with everything you might need for a relaxed stay for families but also for a young group like us (20 ppl between 17-18 years old). A badminton field, a basketball hoop, a table tennis plate and and and. One can find many bathrooms, two dishwasher, two kitchens. So there are no space problems. The house was clean and neat. About the surroundings: In a distance of 200m you get to a small supermarket but there is not that much else in Colares. But it just takes around 15 minutes to get to Sintra. And like 40 minutes to walk to the beach where we took a surf course which was organized by Paulo ( the house owner). Additionally I have to say that I haven't come across a home owner, that put so much effort in providing a good customer service. He helped us a lot during our stay, always responded to a question after minutes and organized stuff such as a surf course, a shuttle service, taxis and so much more. To sum up I (we) strongly recommend the stay at the yellow house."

Colares is a sweet, typical Portuguese village, located between Azoia and the enchanting town of Sintra, reinvested in by artists, antique dealers, local markets, friendly cafes, it even has its own winery! In the last few years, a more “alternative” vibe has started emerging, where local markets with organic produces are held regularly, as well as permaculture workshops, equestrian events, yoga retreats, alternative healing centres, and many cultural visits all being available nearby!

The beautiful beaches of Praia das Maçãs and Praia Grande are just 3 minutes’ drive away, and the historical town of Sintra (declared by UNESCO as World Heritage) with all its palaces and gardens is less than 10 minutes’ drive away. The picturesque village of Azenhas do Mar, perched on top of the ocean, is just 5 minutes’ drive from the property and Cabo da Roca, the most Western point of the European continent, a 10-minute drive away. Surfer's paradise Ericeira is within 20 minutes reach by car.

Walking distance from the house, you will find the traditional tram (dating from the early 1900s), which runs every summer’s day between Sintra and Praia das Maças; definitely a fun experience to try out!
Cascais is about 20 minutes away, and the bustling capital, Lisbon, just over half an hour's drive away. Alternatively, if you want a more “local” journey, you can also hop onto the train at Sintra and arrive in the hub of Lisbon, “Rossio”, 30 minutes later!

Other things to note
Arrival: Rent begins, unless otherwise agreed, at 16h. Should a different time be requested, the tenant must provide the estimated time of arrival to the property and My Friends’ Houses will do their best to meet these times. On busy days, the tenant may be kindly asked to wait a short time. In case of late arrival or delays, the tenant must notify us. The owner, representative of the owner or My Friends’ Houses, will be there to welcome the tenant, show the property and inform the tenant of all the necessary practical details.
Departure: The lease ends at 10h, maximum on the last day of the rental period unless otherwise agreed with the parties. The tenant must return the premises in the condition he/she found them with the furniture back in its original place, trash taken to the street, refrigerator emptied and the property generally tidy and clean. A thorough cleaning is performed after the property has been vacated.

Family-style Mediterranean-style house situated in the pine forest of Banzão, between Colares and Praia Grande.
Very quiet, relaxing and cozy pinewood area, overlooking the Sintra hills. The property has about 2,000m2 of fenced area, with a landscaped garden, lawn, 8x4 pool, BBQ, and covered porch with complete privacy. The property has private parking for cars and offers two bicycles for small trips.
Located 500 meters from the village of Mucifal, where you can find all the necessary trade, and 5 minutes by car from Praia Grande or Praia das Maçãs. There are several traditional food restaurants in the area.
We suggest the visit to the village of Sintra, with all its monuments, where you can experience the trip on the centennial tram, between historic farmhouses and palaces. Other places of interest we recommend are the picturesque Azenhas do Mar with its natural swimming pool, Praia do Magoito or Cabo da Roca. You can also choose to hike on foot, in the pine forest, in the hills, or in the Atlantic cliffs.
Praia Grande is an international surfing practice site, or it can also have a mode lessons in local schools. There are several golf courses within 30 minutes drive, Beloura, Belas Clube de Campo, Lisbon Sports Club, Quinta da Marinha, Penha Longa and Oitavos Dunes.
