- "Ben’s place was great! Clean and conveniently located in the heart of a charming mountain town. " - "Great spot! And very comfortable. It had everything we needed" - "As advertised. Rustic but clean and stuff worked as it should. Being older keeping it up to date is of course a challenge so don't expect an outlet on every wall. You might even want to pack an extension cord and 3 prong adapter. Was clean, comfy beds and close to Yellowstone. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again."

Get away from the highway! Silver Willows "Sarva" cabin is located on the south side of Soda Butte Creek on four acres, getting you away from the traffic that runs through town. It features many of the comforts of home with a mix of rustic charm, and is a great home base for visitors to Yellowstone and the Beartooth Wilderness.
- Our sister cabin, "Ursa" (the Bear, VRBO #929453), is also available for rent on the property. Ursa is perfect for smaller groups, or you can rent both cabins. A stand of trees separates the cabins on the property, maintaining privacy for our guests.
This cabin is named for Sarva, the moose constellation of the Sami people, and is located on the western, wooded half of a 4 acre property.
This cabin is found in the small town of Silver Gate, Montana, 1 mile outside of Yellowstone National Park’s northeast entrance and 3 miles down the road from Cooke City. The Silver Gate/Cooke City area is popular with wolf watchers (the Lamar Valley is a short drive away!) and park visitors looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the larger border towns, as well as winter sports enthusiasts who come to take advantage of the recreation opportunities in the Beartooth Mountains.
Silver Willows is situated away from the highway on 4 acres of woodland bordered by Soda Butte Creek, which runs through the property on its way into Yellowstone National Park. The cabin sleeps up to 9 people on two queen sized beds (1 in the master, 1 in the loft) plus a queen sleeper sofa and twin bunk beds, all with memory foam mattresses. There is also a full sized futon. Please note that any guests beyond 6 people will invoke the $30/night (per person) extra persons fee.

- "We loved this home...great front porch, beautiful interior, and everything you could possibly need while staying in this VRBO. Morning coffee and happy hours on the porch each day. Just minutes away to the NE Entrance of Yellowstone Park and to Cooke City. Quiet, relaxing, the perfect, secluded location. Max responded to any questions I had and was so helpful. Can't wait to go back!" - "This is a place you will want to own. The attention to detail was fantastic. I asked the members of our group how they would rate the stay and all but the 9 year old gave it 5 stars. The 9 yr. old would see a buffalo walk on water and rate it a 4.9 because she figured the buffalo could not swim."

Grey Wolf Cabin is located on 1.3 wooded acres, and backs onto the Absaroka Wilderness. Its location is 1/2 mile off the main road leading to Yellowstone, so views in all directions are of pine trees and mountains. The cabin's main floor has a full kitchen, dining room table that seats up to eight guests, and a large comfortable living room with TV, DVD, stereo system, and gas stove. The master bedroom with a queen bed and en suite bathroom are also on the main floor, along with a second guest bathroom and utility room with washer and dryer. The large loft has two queen beds, a reading nook with a couch and game table. Additionally, the loft opens onto a private balcony with beautiful views of forest. What makes this cabin special is the large deck on the south side of the cabin for guests to enjoy. There is a large library of books, maps and DVD's pertaining to the flora and fauna of Yellowstone.
- "This was our first trip to Yellowstone and this was a nice, comfortable cabin. Many of the other reviews mention this also, the beds are very comfortable. Plenty of space for a family of five. Convenient location to the north east entrance of Yellowstone. We saw a lot of animals in the Lamar Valley - several grizzlies, two wolves, Buffalo, pronghorn, elk, and bald eagles. The cabin is also a five minute drive to get ice cream and souvenirs in Silvergate. We did that one day and they were very friendly and my kids really liked that. We enjoyed the artwork all over the cabin of the yellow stone animals and my kids also really liked the stuffed animals and wild animal toys. It made it feel like home and gave them something to play with. If you want to stay in the north east entrance area, I would recommend this place."

Relax in our spacious custom-built modern-rustic home. Bright and warm, each room in the Lamar is thoughtfully designed to frame its picturesque big-mountain views. Watch the sunrise on Amphitheater mountain while sipping your morning coffee in the breakfast booth, or relax in the inviting hideaway at the top of the stairs to watch the alpenglow at sunset.
Lamar Valley Cabins are owned and operated by Jeff and Karen Hogan. Jeff is an award-winning wildlife filmmaker filming for National Geographic and BBC who knows every corner of Yellowstone.
- "The cabin was beautiful inside and out and you just cannot beat the location. It’s like a mile from the entrance to Yellowstone and by staying at this location you get to drive in and out via the Lamar Valley which is the best part of the park for wildlife viewing. We saw almost every animal in the park along our drives. You can pick up some groceries in Cooke City and there are some food options nearby including the wonderful BBQ truck within steps from the cabin. We would highly recommend staying here while exploring Yellowstone."

Get away from the highway! The Silver Willows "Ursa" cabin is the sister cabin to Silver Gate's highest-reviewed rental property, Sarva ("The Moose," VRBO #316248).
This cabin is situated in the eastern meadow of a four acre parcel of land, bordered by pine and aspen trees to the west and north, with Soda Butte Creek a stone's throw away. Tall pine trees ensure privacy between the two cabins. The property is located on the south side of Soda Butte Creek, so you'll be away from the highway traffic that runs through town.
This cabin comfortably sleeps 4 (1 queen bed, 2 full beds), with an added raised air mattress available for a fifth guest. Please note that a fifth guest will invoke the $30/night extra persons fee.
Ursa is found in the small town of Silver Gate, Montana, 1 mile outside of Yellowstone National Park’s northeast entrance and 3 miles down the road from Cooke City.
The Silver Willows property is located away from the highway on 4 acres of woodland bordered by Soda Butte Creek, which runs through the property on its way into Yellowstone National Park. This cabin sleeps up to 4 people on a queen bed (in the master bedroom) and 2 full beds (in the loft), all with memory foam mattresses. It's a great option for smaller groups and families, while larger groups may want to consider the Sarva cabin.
Because the property is south of the highway, snowmobilers have quick access to the Bannock Trail and can ride directly from the property to the backcountry sledding areas beyond. In 2016 we added additional trailer parking areas on the property for those hauling in their sleds.
Whether you want to enjoy the wonders of Yellowstone, a quiet picnic at the creek or a snowmobile ride in winter, Silver Willows is the perfect getaway.
- "A fantastic property with all of the amenities! Just over a mile to the entrance of Yellowstone made it a perfect location for our family" - "I could go into great detail but to sum it up, this is easily the best host and one of the rare as advertised VRBO rentals we have ever stayed at. Max goes well above and beyond expectations to make sure you know what you are getting into, what you need, best airport to fly into, routes to take etc etc etc. He communicated with us early and often and seemed to genuinely care that we were prepared so we could have the best stay possible. Silver Gate and Cook City are amazing little communities with surprisingly good eateries. There is a trailhead at the end of the gravel road the property is on. Our best day there we never got in the car. We hit the foot trail that took us into the park for several miles and came out at warm creek about a mile from Silver Gate. That was an amazing journey. We would absolutely recommend this property or the one Max has next door."

- "The hostess kept us well informed of the local road conditions and NPS closures. Very friendly and helpful. Cabin was exceedingly clean and well cared for. Great accent pieces." - "Amazing!!! 11 star rating!! Handcrafted mastery. I spent hours looking at the details of the wood work and forgot to watch TV. Super cool, fresh, super pure drinking water. Super quiet and isolated but close to everything. The Widman's are fantastic hosts and we enjoyed a week on their property. Snowmobilers... we are located on Bannock Trail so you can sled-in/sled-out to all Cooke City trails!
This luxurious mountain loft sits adjacent to beautiful Soda Butte Creek, with magnificent views of Mount Republic from the deck. Radiant hardwood floor heating throughout the loft provides an incredibly comfortable living environment. With a spacious kitchen and living area. One private bedroom with queen bed plus two twin beds in open space (2 queen beds coming soon), a walk-out deck, and a roomy bedroom, there is plenty of space for 4 people, and you'll love the year-round creekside sauna and hot-tub. Yellowstone National Park is only a few miles away, but you don't have to go anywhere to see abundant wildlife... we have resident fox, deer, elk, buffalo, eagles, and yes... even an occasional bear. This location is so close to the Lamar Valley (the Serengeti of Yellowstone) and you will have much more opportunity to see wildlife and less traffic/congestion-this end of the park.
The Eagle's Nest is the perfect blend of a mountain get-away with modern conveniences and comforts. The bedroom has a queen feather bed, compression foam pad, down comforter and luxurious down pillows. The bathroom features a double sink and vanity, heated hardwood floors, bath/shower, and luxurious thick towels.
The fully-equipped kitchen opens to the dining and living areas, and combined with the vaulted ceilings, provide you a spacious open feeling. You'll enjoy the brand new range, stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffeemaker, toaster, and blender.
The heated breeze-way at the bottom of the stairs houses a washer and dryer. You can enjoy the big-screen tv with satellite service that also provides high-speed internet.
- "Great, clean property that is well furnished and well maintained. Close to Yellowstone which was convenient and Bear Tooth Highway." - "My son and I stayed in the loft while visiting Yellowstone during his graduation gift. The location meet all our needs and then some. It was clean; comfortable, well decorated, and equipped. Id certainly return and recommend others to it as well." - "Fantastic place. Wolves, bear, moose and elk abound in the Silver Gate/Cooke City part of Yellowstone and the Beartooth Mountains. There are beautiful mountain views from the back deck, and front windows. Some of the best native trout fishing in the world is minutes from the house. These include the Yellowstone River, Lamar River, Slough Creek, Soda Butte Creek, and the Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone. This is a summer rental only!
A great family day can be spent touring the famous features of Yellowstone or taking a day trip to Cody, WY to see the Wild Bill Cody Museum, a genuine rodeo nightly, a mock gun fight at the original Irma Hotel, good food, and many shops including the Sierra Outlet. Cooke City is 3 miles away for shopping, restaurants, ATV rentals and much more. But Silver Gate has quite a few sweet places too. The best time for animal watching is June and early July, while the best time for fishing is mid July through September. Hiking is fabulous anytime.
The house is clean, spacious and comfortable, with a large Great Room and fireplace, leather furniture, big kitchen with new black range top cooking surface and full size laundry with half bath on first floor. Second floor has two very large bedrooms with new carpet: One has two double beds and one single bed and the other has a queen bed and a single. This arrangement will sleep a family of six or 5 singles. Also, a nice full bathroom upstairs.
Outside there is a rear deck with gorgeous mountain views so close you feel like you can reach out and touch them. There is a grill and patio furniture for outdoor dining. There is also a very small stream in the yard which holds a few small native Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout. Very private yard.

It was an amazing trip that our family will not forget. We loved it!!" - "Marcia is the best host! The property was wonderful, as represented. Very comfortable. Clean. Beautiful setting. We look forward to returning."

We sat on the porch to enjoy the view. Kitchen was well equipped for a nice meal. We will be back. We enjoyed the wine. Thank you!" - "We loved staying in Cooke City. The cabin was everything portrayed on the listing and more. Wi-Fi was a great convenience since we didn’t have cell service in the area. We cooked breakfast every morning and enjoyed the beautiful mountain view which surrounded us. One day we took a stroll through the town and loved the old historic store just a couple doors down. We were within a few miles of the NE entrance to Yellowstone. We saw bison, bears, wolves, mountain goats, an eagle, an osprey, coyotes and foxes. The Beartooth Highway is a must for views. We experienced Yellowstone on horseback and loved it. I highly recommend the cabin and the area. We had a blast!!"

Wolf Crossing - Junction Cabin is large1 bedroom cabin in Silver Gate approximately 3000' from the Northeast Entrance to Yellowstone and approximately 3 miles from Cooke City on Highway 212 (National Park Road and the Beartooth Highway). This area is as close to Alaska as you can get in the Lower 48 States. Due to the elevation (about 7400), the temperatures are similar, the wildlife viewing is as good or better. There are even permanent glaciers above us high in the Beartooth Mountains. The small town and residents remind me of the show, Northern Exposure. It is remote, wild and rustic here. Also, a host is on site for information or to hire for hiking/fishing/hunting help - or to cater your dinner.
People who love wildlife and trout fishing (Clark’s Fork River and the numerous mountain lakes). This is the Park entrance nearest to the Lamar River Valley – and the Soda Butte Creek Valley – and the Beartooth Pass/Absaroka Wilderness area (outside the Park). We have had moose, deer, bear – black and grizzly in our yard. Wolves are often seen in the valley. (No, you don’t always see them. If you did, they would change the name to “Yellowstone Zoo”.) This is one of the premier areas of the world for wildlife viewing.
The cabin has a shower, a queen -size bed, a full size refrigerator, a microwave, a full size oven/stove, large kitchen sink and a coffee maker. WE HAVE SATELLITE TELEVISION WITH 150 CHANNELS AS WELL AS WIRELESS INTERNET FOR YOUR LAPTOP and free 48 state calling - via Star Link! No reviews here yet but we have 2 adjacent places with excellent reviews.
There is a general store in town within walking distance as well as the Log Cabin Restaurant and the Stop the Car Store and the Silver Gate General Store. In addition to Yellowstone National Park, we are surrounded by the Absaroka Wilderness as well as the Gallatin National Forest. Great hunting, fishing, hiking, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, kayaking and wildlife viewing abounds. This cabin makes a quiet and unique base-camp for a world of outdoor activities. We have pine martens and foxes around constantly hunting. I blame their laxness if any mice should appear.
- "Property owner was very friendly and always there to help with any needs. Place is clean and quiet. Nice surprise to be greeted by a family of deer in front of the cabin. Our plan this year was to be closer to Lamar Valley. The cabin is minutes away from Lamar Valley. Very convenient and relaxing for a quiet nature getaway." - "Clean, quiet, 1 mile to Yellowstone, amazing animal sightings- great and friendly property Manager!" - "Perfect in every way for us. The location to Lamar was what we were looking for. Actually the cabin is better than what the listing photos indicate. Loved having the full kitchen and washer dryer. The beds were very comfortable and bedding and towels were ample. The location allowed us to stay in Lamar late into the evening. WiFi was reliable and fast. Host was friendly and offered lots of suggestions on things to do. Highly recommend."

- "This little cabin is clean and cozy. The beds are comfortable and there are plenty of nice towels. It’s within walking distance to everything you need. Definitely a good value and I recommend it!" - "The cabin was just right and exactly as advertised. We spent two nights in the middle of a 16 day adventure. Second trip to Yellowstone, fished the Lamar River." - "Nice and clean and quiet" - "I stayed in Cabin 2 for two nights during the Forget-Me-Knot Festival in Cooke City on August 16 & 17. The cabin was quite spacious and very clean. I didn't use the kitchenette much, but it seemed to be well-stocked. It is close to everything but then, Cooke City is small. The nights I was there, it was quiet; the cabin is a bit off the main street that runs through town. I went to Yellowstone National Park two mornings and was back in time for the festival. The park's NE entrance is 5-10 minutes away. I would definitely stay at Elk Horn Lodge again!"

- "Really enjoyed the cabin. Great hospitality from the host!" - "My wife and I had a wonderful stay in this beautiful cabin. Everything was perfect. The cabin is very comfortably furnished and well stocked with everything you could need. Our plan when I booked this unit was to fish the NE part of Yellowstone but the Park implemented hoot owl restrictions on the area streams shortly before our trip. Despite not being able to fish as much as we had hoped, we still had an incredible trip. We can't wait to come back and stay a little longer. Communication with the host was great. Thanks, Jim, for sharing your beautiful home with us."

- "The cabin was nice. It has a kitchenette, so preparing meals was convenient. Cooke City is a very small town, with no cell service, and limited eateries and supplies. So we brought all of our food, including meals that we premade, and just heated up. We came to watch the wildlife in the Lamar Valley in Yellowstone National Park, and Cooke City is minutes away from the East end of the park. Which is a big plus. Our hosts were so friendly and helpful, it was wonderful. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again."

Communication was very clear with regard to checking in and Chris was wonderful to us. We also enjoyed hanging out around the fire at the store and visiting with everyone. We have stayed in Silver Gate several times and I hope people will flock to your wonderful town after last year’s flood. We will definitely be returning and appreciate the hospitality."
