- "Great stay in the Paradise Valley along the Yellowstone River." - "Wonderful! Didn’t want to leave! Cabin was absolutely perfect." - "Very clean and tidy cabin. A few things missing that were needed: shower gel/ soap, curtain over the bathroom window and front door window. We felt a little exposed. For a stocked pond, we didn't get a single bite in an hour. The main issue was the pond was not very accessible for the weed growth surrounding the water. There was only a few spots that we could get to to fish. Having a washer/ dryer inside the cabin was awesome!!! We were on an eleven day trip, so being able to wash clothes was fantastic. Overall, this is a great place to stay and relax. It is close to the park. We enjoyed our time here."

If you are looking for a relaxing vacation far from traffic and noise but still want to have a variety of activities to choose from, this is the place you want to spend your vacation. When you wake up in the morning and see the beautiful mountains out of your window, you will know why this area is called ‘Paradise Valley’. The view is breathtaking of the whole Valley!
There is a bakery, general store, post office and three restaurants within one half mile. Recreational opportunities include hiking, biking and Blue Ribbon trout fishing for native Cutthroat and Brown Trout on the world famous Yellowstone River. The Yellowstone River is only 1/2 of a mile from your front door! There are also several hiking and biking trails accessing the Galatin National Forest. In the winter, these trails can be accessed for cross country skiing. Bridger Bowl ski area is under an hour drive away. World famous Chico Hot Springs is only three miles away. There you will find a wonderful, large, relaxing hot pool which is drained nightly and filled with fresh warm mineral water daily. If you have any problem with achy joints, you will most likely find relief here. Chico Hot Springs also hosts a 5 star restaurant for which reservations are recommended. Our family raises horses and maintains pasture and grazing for clients. In the summer, you'll witness the everyday chores of a working ranch--irrigating, haying, fencing, etc. In other seasons, breeding and training horses take up good parts of the day. While you enjoy the peace and quiet of this agrarian setting, rest assured that it's a short ride to the amenities of town. We think it's the best of both worlds.

National parks, you may know, are not pet-friendly. We offer a variety of kenneling choices for dogs, and corrals or stalls for horses. Guests are free to keep their pets in the guest house, if they wish.

Children especially, but adults as well, are encouraged to enjoy our cats and dogs, collect fresh eggs from the chicken coop, watch as horses are trained in the round pen or as ferriers tack shoes on their hooves. It's a safe, fascinating environment, and a welcomed reprieve from the rigors of traveling.

We're happy to help you plan your days, in and around the Yellowstone ecosystem. Hopefully, you'll return home with an idea of what life is like on a ranch, as well as many memories of Yellowstone Park and "Big Sky" country.

THE SPACE
The guest house is clean, comfortable, and has all the basic amenities. The queen master is downstairs with a closet, dresser, and fan. The full bathroom with a stand up shower, vanity, separate toilet room is on the main floor.

The kitchen and living room complete the ground floor. The kitchen is fully equipped with a full size refrigerator, freezer, coffee maker, basic spices, oven, range, microwave, toaster, baking and cooking equipment, cutlery, glasses, bowls, plates, and more.

A view of the Yellowstone River consumes the east facing window of the living room. Two rocking chairs, a sofa, small ottoman and chest make a cozy seating area. Satellite TV programming and a flat screen TV make winding down at the end of the day easy.

Steep stairs lead to the loft with two twin beds, a small seating area, closet and fan.

The side room in the hallway has a washer and dryer for guest use as well as all veterinarian supplies for livestock.

The house shares a front space with horse tackle and feed. We provide a big crate for your dog should you ever leave them at the house to go into the Park or out to dinner. Dogs are never allowed unattended and at large in the guest house.

The wi-fi is fast enough to accommodate VOIP for communication or Verizon is the best mobile phone vendor for the area.

The upstairs has a king size bed and then a trundle bed with extra long twin and regular twin. A crib is available upon request.

A four wheel drive vehicle is highly recommended as it is 8 miles up a Forest Service Road to access the property.

In the 1870s 'Yankee Jim' built a toll road leading to Yellowstone National Park. In the 1880s, the Northern Pacific Railroad completed a rail line that competed with Yankee Jim's route, and eventually forced him out of business. This historic cabin, artfully restored, is along this route.

We spent almost every day of our trip in the park and it was great to be able to stop in Gardiner after a long day to get a bite to eat and a drink on the way back to the apartment. It was also great because it was about 10 minutes to Chico Hot Springs, which was perfect for a good soak after a day of travel and hiking. It was also close to where we booked horseback riding, which is a must do activity! This place has everything you will need and is so inviting the moment you walk in! This is a COMMUNAL property and it is each guests responsibility to follow our simple rules, be respectful & considerate of other guest.

Our TENT accommodations are thoughtfully designed for comfort but are still JUST TENTS with the potential to be hot during the day and cool at night, there is the potential for noise and a few bugs could get inside the tent.
We make every effort to keep these factors to a minimum but camping in Montana comes with some givens. If you are at all leery about staying in a tent please choose our A-frame accommodations.

The campground is located right in a tiny town and has a nearby outdoor music venue (the famous OLD SALOON) that frequently has music till 11pm. This is a great benefit for our guest if you enjoy that sort of thing and if you do not enjoy outdoor music then we encourage you to book either another accommodation or inquire about our Emigrant Cabins.

The campground property is not suitable for children under the age of 12 and we cannot make exceptions to our age restriction. Please view our family friendly units at the Emigrant Cabins.
