- "Had a great time here! The house is amazing! We ooh'd and aw'd over how clean it was! It was so quiet and peaceful! The kids loved the game room and so did we. Every game you could possibly imagine. We 4 wheeled, played in the creek, went on a few outings, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! One bed could use a topper but Stacy is already taking care of that. Having the washer and dryer was so handy and she is very thoughtful in what she supplies. My dog loved the bones. Views and deck were amazing! Wonderful time; would stay again! "

The gravel road entrance to our 7-bedroom home is located approximately 8 miles south of Showdown Ski Area and 150 yards south of the green mile marker #21 on HWY 89. Our address is 25 Smokey Mtn Circle, White Sulphur Springs, MT, 59645. Many miles of groomed cross-country skiing trails are located at King's Hill also 8 miles away. Approximately 300 miles of snowmobile trails or ATV trails in the summer are accessible directly FROM OUR HOUSE. Our next-door neighbors recently started renting snowmobiles in the winter and ATVs in the summer. They even have an optional guide service available if you choose to be guided on the trails in the forest surrounding our house. Please ask Dave for more information.
We have many elk/deer hunting guests (for both archery and gun hunting) returning year after year because we are located in the middle of some of the best Elk & Mule Deer hunting in Montana. You can either walk directly from our house into the National Forest or drive a few minutes to your favorite spot nearby. Several of our guests have gotten a trophy 6X6 bull elk on their first time hunting in the forest surrounding our house.
For the fisherman, we have a small trout stream within walking distance or you can drive 10 minutes to Newland Creek Reservoir (plus 2 other reservoirs are a little further) or you can also drive to nearby streams like Belt or Moose Creek, or major Blue Ribbon rivers like the Smith, Missouri, Madison, Gallatin and Yellowstone for great rainbow and brown trout fishing. Local fishing guides are available on a neighboring 100,000 acre working cattle ranch with over 30 miles of fishable rivers and streams on the property (names and phone numbers can be provided). Or you can be guided on the major rivers listed above. There are 3 major reservoirs on the Missouri River (including Canyon Ferry Reservoir which is only 50 minutes away) plus Holter and Hauser Reservoirs all have some of the best walleye fishing in the US (up to 20 lbs.) plus rainbow and brown trout fishing as well.
The National Forest surrounding us is also great for 4-wheeling, mountain biking, hiking, and bird/wild game watching. Stargazing is also incredible from our backyard as the lodge is located at 6200 feet above sea level and there is NO light pollution so the stars are brighter than you have ever seen before. Just 20 minutes away to the north is Memorial Falls which is only a short hike from the parking lot off HWY 89. A must to do is soak in the mineral hot springs pools in White Sulphur Springs just 1/2 hour away.
The lodge is a great place for family reunions with plenty of space in the main lodge room to spread out. A foosball table is also available in a separate room or you can choose from the many board games available or pick a book from the huge library. There is both a large screen TV in the main living room and in the master bedroom with DISH satellite hookups plus 2 smaller TVs with kids movies are also available.
We have had people use our large home many times for 3 and 4 generation family reunions, a small wedding and wedding reception, 50th wedding anniversaries, quilting and scrap-booking groups, church groups, etc. It is a great place to use as a base location for your vacation to tour both Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks which are 2.5 to 3 hours away.
The lodge has 1 king bed in the master bedroom w/private bath, walk-in closet and love seat. In addition, there are 5 queen private bedrooms and 2 twin beds that all share 3 bathrooms. The main lodge room has fully stocked gourmet kitchen with 3 dining room tables that seat up to 8 people each, 2 large gas grills are available for your BBQ needs, plus all linens/towels and bathroom supplies (shampoo, conditioner, lotion, hair dryers, etc. are provided, just bring groceries. Wood burning stove is available for your use with split provided wood in the over-sized double garage. Paper products and many spices are also available in the kitchen pantry for your use.
Outside in the back yard is a fire pit that you can build a fire to sit around to enjoy the cool evenings and tell your favorite stories or roast smores for desert. Some outside lawn furniture is also available for your use and enjoyment as well. Because we are located in a forest, we have little to NO LIGHT POLLUTION so star gazing is absolutely amazing. You can see so many stars and the Milky Way is as bright as you will ever sit it anywhere. If you have never seen the Aurora Borealis, we are a great place to try to see it. The internet says the best places to see the Aurora Borealis offer little to no light pollution, clear skies and no precipitation. THIS IS US in our back yard.
There are many great restaurants in White Sulphur Springs like the newly established "Jawbone" open evenings Thurs. - Sundays has a great variety with an excellent chef and staff. We are there and had one of the best meals ever including places like Denver and Phoenix. Then "Bar 47" which is open for lunch and dinner has some of the best food you will find anywhere including some really great steaks from grass-fed Montana grown beef. There are also 4 great places for breakfast and lunch also downtown WSS. Then there is Stage-line Pizza where you can order one and eat in while watching a movie on weekends or carry out your pizza and eat it next door at the new brewery that has lots of great tasing beer.
There are 2 great little grocery stores in WSS that have some of the best beef grown locally in our area of Montana that you will find anywhere in all the US. In case of a medical emergency, we have a very good local hospital with great doctors that hopefully you will not need to use but it is available if needed. A local pharmacy is also available in the grocery store at the east side of WSS on the north side of the street. Our little home town has everything you may need, including a great mechanic for any car problems that also runs a tow truck service if you should ever need it.
- "Our group was 17 people from ages 9-71. We had a great time exploring the area around us. The home was big enough for family games and also for getting in a corner and reading a book. The home was very well stocked with kitchen things, I don’t think there was anything we didn’t find. The local people were very friendly and giving us suggestions what to do." - "Beautiful location everything was just as advertised. Plenty of space, very clean. Host was ever so friendly and helpful. Would stay there again in a heartbeat!!"

The place was clean and quiet and close to the hot springs." - "Conveniently located in walking distance to hot springs, brewery and dining. Very clean and warm on a very cold wintery weekend! Perfect size for 2-3 adults" - "We loved this apartment. It was within walking distance to everything we wanted. About a block from the hot springs, bars downtown, and a great bakery for breakfast and coffee. Very clean and well managed. The only thing we didn’t LOVE was the bathroom. Our knees touched the wall when using the toilet and the shower head isn’t adjustable so I felt like the water was either blasting me in the back of the head or in the face the whole time. Toilet is great for a very short person, shower is great for a very tall person. Overall, I would stay here again."

The kitchen is equipped with an electric range, microwave oven, Keurig coffee maker, and of course a refrigerator with freezer. The dining area features a large dining table with room to seat 6 people. The living room features a brand-new couch and recliner, perfect for relaxing after a long day on the ski hill, or to rest your feet after a day of fishing or hunting. Or you can sit back and kick on a movie on our 65’’ tv. The cabin features Hi speed Wi-Fi, You Tube tv or feel free to log in and view your own streaming service. Cell service is minimal, but it is there. We recommend logging into the wi-fi to make your phone calls.
A recently remodeled bathroom is also stocked up with plenty of bath towels and wash cloths, there’s nothing worse than not having enough towels for everyone visiting, but there’s nothing better than a hot shower after a day in the outdoors.
The Property
The property consists of 2 acres in a secluded mountain subdivision. This means the only traffic you will experience are the mule deer and turkeys that make a daily visit as they pass through the property. We have a fire pit that sits just outside the front door and overlooks the entire property. This is a perfect spot to BBQ or just take in the scenery. Speaking of scenery from the fire pit you can look across the valley at Belt Park the gateway into the Little Belt Mountains, or turn around, just behind our cabin are some of the best views in the area of beautiful rock formations that make this area so unique. The BBQ is in the shed just behind the cabin.

Whether you're relaxing by the fireplace, soaking in the hot tub or exploring the great outdoors, you're sure to make fantastic memories with a stay at our place.
Our cabin sits in the heart of the Little Belt Mountains, surrounded by the Lewis and Clark National Forest. Our cabin is great for family gatherings, a couples get away or hunting buddies to use as base camp. The cabin is 20 miles from Showdown ski area and also Silvercrest Winter Rec access for XC skiers. There is plenty of hikes to be done or 4wheeler and snowmobile trails to ride as well. Hunting, rafting and kayaking are also activities that take place in our area.
Our outdoor patio is a great place to sit and soak in the views, have dinner or enjoy a cup of coffee and watch the sunrise over the mountaintop.
Our property sits on one acre so there is plenty of room to run or play outdoor games.
- "Only issue was vehicle access to the cabin due to the steep approach and accumulated snow. No big deal, though. Great rural location." - "We all enjoyed our stay. It accommodated 6 adults after a day at Showdown Ski Hill. Beautiful scenery." - "Nice place." - "We only spent a couple days here but they've been our first couple days as husband and wife! The little lights all over are such a cute touch! They provided games and coloring books and it was lovely! I think my only complaint is that it creeks and groans whenever you move so sometimes it sounds like there's someone in the house when there's not - but thats to be expected of a log cabin! Overall it was a magical stay!"

Relax in privacy at this peaceful rural home. View abundant wildlife and enjoy the seasonal serenade of sandhill cranes, pheasants, turkeys and Canadian geese from the covered front patio. Surrounded by boating, trail-riding, hunting, and angling opportunities.
- "My daughter's and I and my mom had a great experience here at Deep Creek. This was a perfect accommodation for us on a quiet ranch property in the hills. The property is located on a main highway and is easily accessed. Only 8 miles from Townsend which has a some good options for groceries and supplies for outdoor recreations. You can't beat the view from the front porch. We watched deer and antelope graze on the hills. The home is cozy and well equipped including Starlink internet service. I would recommend connecting your phone immediately upon arrival as the actual cell service at the location is weak. The yard is beautiful. The grass is watered and lush and the property is landscaped with ornamental crab apple trees which made for an amazing backdrop for family photos. Troy is very responsive and was pleasant to work with during our stay. Long story short, wonderful memories were made here for me and my family and we will definitely be back to visit Deep Creek Ranch. Thank you Troy and family! Ben, Olivia, Savannah, and Miriam"
