Welcome to the Wild Rose Cabin. We are nestled on twenty acres on the banks of the Yellowstone River in beautiful Paradise Valley, Montana – just 35 miles north of Yellowstone National Park and 14 miles south of the historic town of Livingston. Museums: Historic Livingston offers visits to three museums.
Geysers at Yellowstone Park: The mud pools and geysers at Yellowstone park are the largest and greatest number of hydrothermal features on the surface of the Earth. Old Faithful erupts approximately every 60-90 minutes. You can view the live webcam of Old Faithful.
Wildlife at Yellowstone National Park: The park has the largest population of mammals in the lower 48 states and offers views of numerous wildlife including elk, grizzly and black bears, bison, moose, wolves, trumpeter swans, pelicans, osprey (seasonal) and eagles.
Golfing: The Livingston golf course is a 15 minute drive from the Wild Rose Cabin.
Whitewater Rafting on the Yellowstone River: Yellowstone offers some great rapids for rafting with class I-V rapids for the beginner to the expert. If you’re a novice to rafting be sure to book a trip with a trained guide with one of the many local rafting companies.
Hiking: Paradise Valley and offers literally thousands of miles of hiking trails into the surrounding Absaroka and Gallatin mountains and Yellowstone National Park. The peaks of the Absaroka’s rise to more the 10,000 feet above sea level or more than one mile above the valley floor. Higher elevations offer spectacular views of the valley floor and surrounding area.
Fishing: The Yellowstone and surrounding rivers offer blue ribbon trout fishing opportunities. Anglers from around the world travel to the area for some of the best fly fishing in the lower 48 states.
Hunting: The area surrounding the Wild Rose Cabin offers some of the best big game hunting in the lower 48 states.
Horseback Riding: Many of the trails in Paradise Valley can be traversed on horseback. You can ride for an hour or an entire day with one of the many available local guides.
Archaeology: Artifacts from the Native Americans who lived in the area can be found at numerous nearby locales. Fossils of animal species from previous times can be found for the interested.
Rodeo: A rodeo is hosted in the nearby town of Livingston (16 miles away) in the days leading up to Independence Day (July 4). See cowboys from Montana and surrounding western states compete in riding bulls, horses, roping calves and more.

- "Great stay in the Paradise Valley along the Yellowstone River." - "Wonderful! Didn’t want to leave! Cabin was absolutely perfect." - "Very clean and tidy cabin. A few things missing that were needed: shower gel/ soap, curtain over the bathroom window and front door window. We felt a little exposed. For a stocked pond, we didn't get a single bite in an hour. The main issue was the pond was not very accessible for the weed growth surrounding the water. There was only a few spots that we could get to to fish. Having a washer/ dryer inside the cabin was awesome!!! We were on an eleven day trip, so being able to wash clothes was fantastic. Overall, this is a great place to stay and relax. It is close to the park. We enjoyed our time here."

- "We very much enjoyed the Emigrant Cabin we stayed in for three nights. It was clean, quiet, and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again and it was a pleasure to deal with our property's host. All communications were timely and efficient. The only bummer was that the bakery located next to the property was not open for two days of our stay. We were able to buy pastries on our last morning and they were fantastic. Also, the BBQ place next to the bakery was excellent."

Newly constructed log cabin. Decorated with Hand made pine log furniture and cabinetry. New queen Serta Posturepedic Mattress. 2 Queen beds and a futon sofa that opens into a double bed. This cozy little cabin can sleep up to 6 people. It is equipped with a microwave oven Keurig coffee maker and gas grill. You can spend some relaxing and sitting on the Covered front porch enjoying a fantastic view of Emigrant Peak. The cabin is Located 27 mile north of Gardiner the North entrance to Yellowstone Park. as just a few minutes from several fishing access to the Yellowstone of river. There is plenty of room to park your fishing boat.

The cabin was well stocked with everything we needed to grill a delicious dinner and take in the beauty surrounding us. There is a small general store a few miles from the cabin that had everything we needed grocery wise…or there are full grocery store options in Gardiner right outside the North Gate. We highly recommend this cabin and will choose it again on our next trip there."

There is no Uber, Lyft, or bus transportation nearby. We do highly recommend Miller Mountain Transport, a local private transport service for day trips or airport transfers.

Snow Plow: We assume responsibility for plowing our driveway to ensure clear access for you on check-in day. Any other plowing service required during your stay or on your departure is the responsibility of each guest. The HOA will take care of plowing the main roads and surrounding streets. Please plan ahead and schedule any snow plow services you may need during your stay or for your departure. Our recommended plow companies can be found listed on signage inside the house.

4wd vehicles are REQUIRED during winter months and carrying snow chains is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (car rental agencies can usually provide upon request).

Indoor fireplace is electric (not wood burning or propane).

In efforts to prevent the cause of wildfire, we have recently replaced the wood burning fire pit outside with a Big Timber Wood Pellet Stove. Starter pellets are provided and more are sold at the store nearby for approximately $8 per bag.

At first I was taken back by this but after I saw the property, it was well worth the drive! The property was spotless. There was plenty of entertainment and it was well supplied with paper towels, cleaning supplies, cooking appliances, etc. The owners of the property we easy to communicate with and kindly answered all questions. We considered it one of the best properties we have ever stayed in. Definitely a 10/10."

The campground is located right in a tiny town and has a nearby outdoor music venue (the famous OLD SALOON) that frequently has live outdoor music in the Summer till 11pm. This is a great benefit for our guest if you enjoy that sort of thing and if you do not enjoy outdoor music or are sensitive to noise then we encourage you to book either another accommodation or inquire about our Emigrant Cabins.

- "We really enjoy our stay at this campground! Very clean, cozy cabin!" - "We’ve stayed in a lot of small cabins over the years and this one is definitely one of the nicest. The inside of the cabin is actually quite spacious. The bed was very comfortable, and the restroom/shower building was immaculate. We were only there for one night but will definitely return for a longer stay." - "I understand this is a campground and that there can be bugs around, but the conditions are way beyond what I expected. There was dog AND human hair on the bed sheet, which means the bed sheet was not even changed after the last person left. There was a spider web right above my head, and dead bugs everywhere in the room. When I tried to enter the public restroom there were so many bugs around the door that I couldn’t open the door. Overall it was just a very bad experience, I felt like the property maintainer did not even pay an effort to try to keep the place clean. I’m sure not everyone’s experience is as bad as mine, but I’m just sharing this possibility so others can keep in mind that this happened to me during this stay. "

This Cabin along with our Cabin #2 (Airbnb 6297238) is situated on our small ranch of 49 acres. Hiking in any direction; Yellowstone 28 miles away; Chico Hot Springs 10 minutes away.

The space
This cabin is an immaculate retreat situated above the Yellowstone river in beautiful Paradise Valley Montana just 27 miles from the north entrance of Yellowstone Park. A front and back bedroom can allow "2 + 2" people and there is a loft which can sleep an additional person although it is more comfortable without going above 4 people. There is an efficiency kitchen and gas fireplace. Horses in the pasture next door, and everything you need for a wonderful mountain adventure and vacation. Friendly, clean, & peaceful atmosphere. We have Beach Towels available for taking to the Hot Springs as well as a small cooler. There is Bear Spray at the Cabin which is available for Guests to borrow so that they don't have to purchase a can and then find out that they can't take it back on the plane! This unique rough-cut wood frame cabin at the base of Tom Miner Basin can comfortably accommodate 4-6 guests. It is 15 minutes north of Yellowstone NP with easy access and parking. You can relax outdoors, with two porches and swing seats, outdoor eating facilities, & inside a sunroom with large south-facing windows.

After a day of exploring or adventuring, relax at this peaceful, people-friendly get-a-way, surrounded by a spacious lawn with views of Paradise Valley and nearby mountain ranges.

The space
Valley View cabin can comfortably accommodate up to 5 guests, with two bedrooms, a sleeping loft, and a second living area with a sleeping option. A queen bed is situated in the main upstairs bedroom, and twin bunks in the second bedroom are suitable for adults or children. A twin portable bed is available in the main-level sunroom and second living area. We will consider booking a group of six if they are happy to utilize a full bed in the sleeping loft (which can get hot mid-summer) or the very comfortable couch in the main living area. There is a full bathroom on the first floor and a half bath on the main floor.

The advertised base fee is for up to four guests. We charge $30 per extra person per night and can accommodate six guests in total as described above.

The main living area boasts high ceilings, rough-cut wooded beams, and framed pictures and photos taken by the owner, a Montana native. This open-plan area has an oversized comfortable couch and easy chair, a dining table for up to six guests, a smart TV, and direct access to the front porch and the kitchen. The cabin boasts numerous windows, including large southern-facing windows in the sunroom that summer renters can enjoy. One central wood fireplace keeps the main house toasty in the cool evenings of the shoulder seasons, and there is also an electric furnace.

The kitchen has complete amenities for your cooking needs. Includes dishware, silverware, glassware, cookware, full refrigerator & top freezer, toaster oven, oven, stove top, & double sink. Kitchen appliances include a drip coffee machine, food processor, microwave, & a range of bakeware.

The expansive lawn is well maintained, so guests must park in the designated parking area indicated in the written directions and map we provide. You will need to carry your luggage a distance of approx. 60ft.

Our cabin is a traditional rough-cut timber structure built as a much-loved and utilized second home and family holiday home. If this accommodation style suits you, it will be a fun place to stay and enjoy with family and friends.

We do not have air conditioning, but we do have fans, screened doors and windows, and blinds on all our windows. You can use these technologies in combination with each other to keep the cabin at a comfortable temperature. We provide information on how to do this if it is not something you are familiar with.

While we have screens and pest mitigations and ensure the highest cleaning standards, you are in a timber cabin in rural Montana, and every season, you may encounter odd critter or insect inside and out.

Paying attention to the strategies we outline to manage these environmental conditions, which we do as residents of the area, will make your stay more comfortable and relaxed.

You may be looking for a different experience, like a higher-end hotel suite or housing. If so, we recommend you look for accommodations built in a more modern style with modern materials. If you want to stay in a comfortable cabin in rural MT with basic modern amenities, we welcome you to our cabin in one of the most beautiful areas in the USA.

Dogs
We are a dog-friendly property and are delighted to welcome one dog per visit. This is contingent on receiving a guarantee from our human guests that they will ensure their pet is a considerate/low-impact house guest. We do charge a dog fee, as outlined in the cabin information.

Guest access
Guests have the house to themselves and can enjoy outdoor living on the two porches as well as the spacious lawn in front of the cabin. There is also an additional outside area between the cabin and the parking area on Grizzley Meadows Rd. The area on the south side of the property from the end of the wooden walkway is a private area and not part of the rental. Please do not go beyond the property boundary marked by the end of the wooden walkway and the two trees.

Other things to note
Update on access to YNP: There is now access to Yellowstone National Park (YNP) via the north gate on a much better road. While the Carbella bridge has yet to be rebuilt, access to the Park is still excellent from Tom Miner Basin. Without the bridge, there is an additional 12 minutes of driving to Gardiner, making it approx. 30 min in total. Half of this 12 minutes is on a scenic road where you can see pronghorn, mule deer, and possibly even big horn sheep, and the other half is on H89. Time differences in driving to Livingston or Bozeman are negligible. The base of Tom Miner Basin (where our cabin is situated) is still closer to YNP north entrance than any accommodations in Emigrant or further north.

The cabin comprises a large open-plan lounge, dining room, kitchen, and full bathroom downstairs. A stone fireplace separates the kitchen and living room areas. In the upstairs loft, there is a cozy bedroom and half bath.

The living area is spacious with comfy couches, blankets, distance sitting areas, and a flat-screen smart TV for relaxing at night. An office area in the corner has a desk, chair, lamp, and wifi that can be accessed throughout the cabin. The library shelves contain a range of novels, magazines, and books on Montana wildlife, nature, Yellowstone National Park, and other Southwest Montana outdoor adventures. A range of art is displayed on the walls, including the owner's photos (for sale on request) and art from around the world. Rugs cover the reclaimed wooden floors. A taste of Montana tradition is provided by taxidermied trout and elk antlers treated and mounted by the owner.

There is a kitchen with all the amenities needed to cook and serve simple meals, including a gas oven and stovetop, microwave, hand mixer, food processor, various-sized baking dishes, basic cutlery, utensils, plateware, and a coffee maker. The island is a good space for cooking, and the wooden dining table faces floor-to-ceiling glass doors for views of Tom Miner Basin and Yankee Jim Canyon. The tile on the kitchen island, countertops, and backsplash are from Dolores, Hidalgo, Mexico.

Behind the kitchen is a full bathroom with a claw-foot tub and rain-head shower. The stairs lead to the main bedroom in the cozy loft with a king bed and half bath.

For relaxing evenings, you can utilize the gas grill and eat at the outdoor table or sit in an Adirondack chair or one of the swinging benches on the wooden porches. If you want to stay in a comfortable log cabin in rural MT with basic modern amenities, we welcome you to our cabin in one of the most beautiful areas in the USA.

We are a dog-friendly property and are delighted to welcome one dog per visit. This is contingent on receiving a guarantee from our human guests that they will ensure their pet is a considerate/low-impact house guest. We do charge a dog fee, as outlined in the cabin information.

Note
The shed at the top of the driveway and away from the cabin belongs to the owner. They reserve the right to access it when needed and will be judicious about this. When possible, they will let you know before they access it.

Guest access
PLEASE NOTE: only 4WD or AWD vehicles are allowed up the short, steep driveway. 2WD vehicles need to be parked at the bottom, and guests must hike up the driveway.

Update on access to YNP: There is now access to Yellowstone National Park (YNP) via the north gate on a much better road. While the Carbella bridge has yet to be rebuilt, access to the Park is still excellent from Tom Miner Basin. Without the bridge, there is an additional 12 minutes of driving to Gardiner on a scenic road where you can see pronghorn, mule deer, and possibly even big horn sheep. Time differences in driving to Livingston or Bozeman are negligible. The base of Tom Miner Basin (where our cabin is situated) is still closer to YNP north entrance than any accommodations in Emigrant or further north.

Other things to note
Heating
The wood-burning stove is the primary heat source when the weather is cool. Montana summer evenings can be cool, and starting a real log fire can take the chill off.

We provide firewood and a propane torch to start the fire. More detailed directions are in the guest book. There are baseboard heaters in each bathroom to keep them cozy. The gas fireplace under the stairs keeps the chill off in the morning until the wood-burning stove gets going. The gas fireplace under the stairs is supplementary, NOT the primary heat source.

If you are uncomfortable using a wood-burning stove, this is not the place to rent when it can be chilly in the evenings (in Montana, that can be from September through early June).

Dogs
We are a dog-friendly property. We are delighted to welcome one dog per visit with a (pre-booking) guarantee from its human that they will support their pet in being a considerate/low-impact house guest. We ask for a $50 fee per visit, which we are happy to refund if we do not see evidence of dogs having been on the furniture or extra cleaning due to dog hair. (One of our guys sheds like crazy, so we understand this issue). We provide a vacuum cleaner, which you are welcome to use before you leave to eliminate excess dog hair.

Extra Guests
Depending on the circumstances and by special request, we may be able to accommodate a third person for an additional nightly rate. The only permanent bed in the cabin is a king bed. An extra person would need to sleep on an inflatable bed. While we can provide an inflatable bed and linens, we cannot guarantee comfort.

Quaint two-story cottage perched above the Yellowstone River. The cottage is isolated from the busy highway with a beautiful outdoor grassy area equipped with lawn chairs and a fire pit. The main floor has the kitchen/ Living room, a full bath and a master bedroom. Second floor is a separate sleeping space with one full bed and two single beds. There is an outdoor porch with BBQ and seating area. Views are exquisite and breath taking!

In the 1870s 'Yankee Jim' built a toll road leading to Yellowstone National Park. 10 years later the Northern Pacific Railroad completed a rail line along his route which forced him out of business.

Just 17 miles north of Yellowstone, it offers a taste of a bygone era and great proximity to the treasures of south west Montana. Expertly landscaped, this property allows privacy for singles or a couple who value character, history and authenticity in their choice of lodging.

The space
A studio cabin with a separate bathroom/laundry area. The space is meticulously planned and perfect for a single or couple. Four areas in each corner define the main living space.

First, a small seating area with two leather chairs, small marble side table, and a dresser with a big screen TV (DVD's only).

Second, a built in bench on the southern and eastern walls with cushions and a large wooden table on wheels, perfect for dining or creating.

Third, a small corner kitchen complete with all the necessities and beyond: stove, range, microwave, coffee maker, cutlery, glassware, plates, bowls, cooking ware, placemats, and a stainless steal refrigerator.

Lastly, the comfortable queen bed with high quality bamboo sheets, bed side tables, reading lamps, and contour pillows.

The bathroom is separated by a wooden door. The bathroom has a toilet, spacious shower framed in rail road ties, stackable washer and dryer, and a beautiful marble vanity with an artistic twig framed mirror.

We have an outdoor BBQ for outdoor grilling along with a small antique prep table.

The cabin is surrounded by a vibrant, organically treated lawn as well as rock tiers of flowers, trees, and shrubbery. The rock terraces are well kept and make sitting outside very enjoyable.

The entire studio is yours with off street parking and a beautifully manicured lawn. Please park on the small gravel lot in front of the stone step pathway.

Laundry Room: High-capacity, industrial-style washer and dryer. Detergent and supplies provided. During tight turnarounds, cleaners may leave a load running—I'll always communicate if so. Thanks for understanding! *must dry using medium heat only

Trash: As we’re in rural Montana, regular pickup isn’t available. I kindly ask guests to dispose of their trash at a local site before checkout. A map of nearby locations is provided.

Outlets: there’s two outlets with covers (dining room, living room) that can’t be used. Please don’t remove covers.

Situated on 5 acres in Montana's idyllic Paradise Valley, Yellowstone Basecamp Lodge is nestled between the Absaroka and Gallatin mountain ranges, with epic views out every window. Relax and enjoy this well-appointed, one of a kind spacious log cabin after a day of exploration and adventure. YBL is just 30 minutes from the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park, 30 mi to the charming and historic town of Livingston, and 65 mi to Bozeman Int'l Airport.

The space
Our rustic log home offers modern amenities and can accommodate up to 10 guests comfortably, with plenty of space to gather together or find a peaceful moment of solitude.

Soak in the quiet beauty of Paradise Valley with sweeping views of the Absaroka Range and Emigrant Peak from the deck. In the mornings, enjoy a cup of coffee to the tune of the meadowlarks and the rising sun. Kids can play on the swing set while parents prepare dinner on the outdoor gas grill. Take an afternoon nap on the relaxing hammock and on chilly nights, enjoy a glass of wine around the gas fire pit under the stars.

YBL has four bedrooms spread across 3 levels. The primary bedroom is located on the main level and includes a king size bed, walk in closet, and a fully updated en-suite bathroom featuring a walk in shower, heated tile floors, and dual vanities. The second floor has two bedrooms. One of these bedrooms is outfitted with a queen bed and crib and the other has a queen bed and twin bunk beds. Between these rooms is a newly renovated bathroom with a deep soaker bathtub. The fourth bedroom is located on the downstairs level and offers an en-suite bathroom with tub and queen bed. There is also a powder room located on the main level.

We love to cook and host meals while at YBL, so always ensure that the kitchen is well stocked with quality equipment to make memorable meals for family and friends. Among some of the kitchen amenities, we include an induction range, crockpot, instant pot, dutch oven, blender, immersion blender, drip coffee maker, Keurig coffee maker, ice maker, wine glasses, baking sheets, salt, pepper, cooking oil, and a variety of spices. Just off the kitchen, guests will find a laundry room with a washer and dryer.

Our basement lounge and game room is equipped for guests of all ages with toys, books, games, puzzles, a foosball table and 55" TV. The basement also includes a gear room, where guests can find a highchair and pack and play for infants, additional activities like cornhole and kites, and day hike accessories like bear spray.

Upstairs, guests can enjoy our curated collection of vinyl records while lounging on the hanging chair or watching the neighborhood deer meander through the yard. Make a selection from our library of books and guides about Yellowstone and the local area and immerse yourself in it while basking in the warmth of the wood stove. The second floor loft includes another living room with a 55" TV and an extra large sectional for lounging. There are a total of 5 televisions with Netflix and Disney+ access.

If you need to get in some work, feel free to bring your laptop and dock to the double monitor work station, complete with ergonomic desk chair, wireless mouse, wireless keyboard, webcam and high-speed wifi.

YBL is located at the end of a rural road and the property is adjacent to a 20,000 acre ranch to the north. We have friendly neighbors in other directions, but YBL maintains a quiet and peaceful environment.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire lodge and five acres of native grasses. The quiet neighborhood has well maintained dirt roads for walking, running, or biking. Ample parking is located on a gravel driveway in front of the home.

Other things to note
If you are staying with us in the winter months when snow is a possibility, a 4WD/AWD vehicle is highly recommended.

Unlike many rentals in the area, we do remove trash for our guests. Many other rentals require guests to borrow their trash tag and drive their own trash to the collection station.

We first stayed at the lodge in May 2020 as Airbnb guests of the prior owners and fell in love with the home, the local area, and the views. When we reached out to the hosts to book again, the opportunity to buy the lodge was presented and we couldn't say no. When we can't be at YBL ourselves, we love to share this experience and hope that our guests enjoy their stay in this special place.

In efforts to prevent the cause of wildfire, we have recently replaced the wood burning fire pit outside with a Big Timber Wood Pellet Stove. Starter pellets are provided and more are sold at the store nearby for approximately $8 per bag.

OCCUPANCY: The main level, the loft and the lower level bathroom and laundry area are available for guest use. There are 3 locked doors in the basement level for owner use only.

DRIVEWAY: The gravel road up to the cabin is steep -- please exercise caution when driving. A vehicle equipped with 4WD or all wheel drive is recommended, especially during the winter months.

The entire property and river front Rainbow Cabin's main level and loft are dedicated to our guests, plus the basement laundry room. The rest of the basement is private and not available to guests, however.
There is plenty of parking available for large groups in the roundabout driveway.
