Welcome to "The Cabin on Placid Lake." We are offering our nearly 100-year old cabin, restored and rebuilt to a year-round four season getaway, for a handful of weeks out of each year..
Sitting on just over two acres of flat, private, forested land, relax and de-stress in this quintessential, quiet spot on Placid Lake, approximately 5 miles deep in the mountains, yet just 10 minutes to the town of Seeley Lake, MT.
Enjoy lounging on the covered porch with a fresh cup of cabin coffee within a stone's toss to the water. Bring your boat or boats and secure them to a new 2022 Daka dock extending well into comfortable depths for both boats and daily dives into the cool, fresh Placid Lake waters. Launch your boats just 5 minutes down the road at the Placid Lake State Park. (dock is put in on May 1 and pulled out on October 1 each year)
Not bringing a boat but still want to get out on the water? No worries. We have three 2022 Pelican brand kayaks, plus a canoe for you to use. :)
Sit back and appreciate the 150 year old + larch pine logs within, logged from the land nearly 100 years ago by the original loggers of the area.. The main bedroom features eight large windows with amazing views of the lake. The sunsets from this room are truly hard to beat. In the fall and winter, add the extra nice touch of turning on the gas vintage style wood stove sitting in the corner of the room. Four underbed storage containers provide a simple solution to folded and tucked away clothing for all.
The kids' corner features a convenient trundle bed style with two twin beds. Perfect for the kiddos, or... two good size grownups! Three drawers to boot for all the kids clothes.
Need to get away from it all while the kids play Nintendo on those rainy or blustery blizzards that may roll in? No problem, retreat about 25 steps to the Office Study that comes complete with bathroom, fireplace, piano, desk and a pull out queen size couch for extra sleeping, as needed! The views from this study are also hard to beat!
Want to invite a few extra friends over for dinner? No problem. We have a Transformer Table that can convert from a small computer desk, all the way up to seating eight comfortably. Just pull it open, place the additional "leaves" and you are now able to host the entire group! Just the six of you, you say? Even better! Keep it simple by using the kitchen breakfast nook. A cozy, intimate and easy-going way to enjoy your breakfast, lunch or dinner for up to six people.
So you're a water person but the lake is too cold? We've got you covered with a new Hot Springs Spas Hot Tub that can be enjoyed throughout the winter. Enjoy your favorite hot or cold beverage while sitting in the soothing 104 degree water in perfect solitude! In the winter, you may not have the water skiing, but what you do have is nearly the entire lake to yourself. You might find a few ice fisherman if you need someone to talk to, but other than that, expect to hear only the calls of the wild, and not much else.
- "We absolutely loved this property. My husband and I stayed with our two daughters and it was perfect. Highly recommend a cup of coffee on the porch at sunrise and a glass of wine on the dock at sunset." - "What an easy escape. Our family had an awesome stay in a beautiful place. We hope to be back" - "Beautiful spot. Calm quiet lake. Loved everything about this " - "Amazing views and lake front excellent vacation spot" - "This was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the lake after being in Yosemite the previous 3 days. Our next 3 days here we enjoyed the sounds of the birds and lake, did the Morrell trail hike ( hard but worth it!), and had a nice night at the firepit. We love Seeley Lake area."

- "We had an awesome stay! Wonderful location just a short walk from the water, which includes a boat ramp for the folks staying there and a good spot to swim and relax. The late hours stayed quiet because of the size of the property. Overall it was a blast and we will continue to come back next year!" - "Our family stayed here for my Mother's 80th birthday. Another guest was 84 years old. This property was easy for both of them to manage and we enjoyed proximity to the lake, canoe access, evening campfires, DVD time, and many home-cooked meals. When a repair issue did come up, the onsite team responded within minutes to make sure it did not impact our full enjoyment of the property. Well done. Full recommendation. We plan to come back!"

The beds were very comfortable. Perfect amount of space for a family vacation. I was very surprised that although there are ponds around the home the misquitos were very minimal. We enjoyed the deer and their babies spending time on the lawn and even saw a beautiful fox. The location was so close to the store and town. Loved that it has both a front and back porch so in the afternoon when it was hot we could move to the other porch. The air conditioning was a plus as the temperatures were very high and having Wi-Fi and Netflicks was a plus and when the internet goes out, having the DVD player was great as we broght movies to watch. - "This cabin is part of a resort. There's a cluster of cabins, all within ~30 yards of the lake. It was small but worked out fine. I was happy with everything except hot water. Facet in the sink and bathroom both would run hot, but the shower water was room temperature at best."
