You'll enjoy relaxing on the spacious deck and watching the wildlife. Our quaint cabin is ideal for a couple or a single traveler. Located 10 minutes from Bigfork, 20 minutes from Kalispell, and 45 minutes to Glacier National Park.
- "Trip to Glacier started with 3 nights at this cozy cabin 40 min from Glacier Apgar entrance. The hosts and cabin location are amazing. The studio unit was well appointed and extremely clean. Note there is no stove but the hot plate and owners grill sufficed as we ate in every night. The quiet calming views were a great way to end our exhausting days of hiking. We are particular and have visited many VRBOs and this was a 10 for sure! Thx :)"

Unplug and unwind in the mountains, just 20 minutes West of Kalispell, Montana. This sprawling forested property is only one hour from the West Gate of Glacier National Park, 3.5 miles from Wild Bill Off Road Vehicle Trailhead, less than 10 minutes from the historic Rails to Trails and Smith Lake, home to some of the best pike fishing in NW Montana.
This 750 square foot cabin is a structurally distinctive Quonset hut specifically engineered for the snow, wind and elements of the area. These structures are energy efficient and allow for an open concept living space. New construction completed December 2021.
The area is quiet and secluded, great for walks and viewing the sunrises or sunsets. The sunsets from the cabin are spectacular.
Your stay will include a complimentary "s'mores station," local Montana coffee, creamer and bread. Fire pit and barbeque on site. We keep the cabin fully stocked with chopped firewood and firestarters. We also offer use of an inflatable 2-person kayak and inflatable stand up paddleboard for a fun day on the lake, life jackets included. During the winter, we have an extensive collection of snowshoes/trekking poles for your use.
The cabin offers high speed WiFi, so you can keep connected with loved ones, tend to emails or check the weather before you head out for the day. We also have an extensive library of DVDs if you feel like relaxing with a movie at night, as well as an Amazon Fire Stick.
For those interested in hiking or mountain biking in the Spring/Summer/Fall or snowshoeing/cross country skiing in the Winter, endless access to public lands is less than 2 minutes from the cabin. Laminated maps are provided on the fridge. We are happy to point you in the right direction. This is one of the best "hidden gems" of our area!
An RV site, with full hookups, is also available if other members of your party are traveling with an RV. Please note that we will not rent the cabin and RV site out to separate parties unless it is at your request. You may message us with further inquiries on the RV site.
The closest grocery stores are in Kalispell so we recommend that you stock up before heading out for your stay. Albertsons, Super1 and Smith's are popular and located within 25 minutes from the cabin. The nearest gas station, Kelly Rae's, also offers basic amenities such as milk, butter, beer, etc.
Your stay at our mountain cabin will rejuvenate your soul and mind. A true Montana experience awaits you. Property sleeps 2 persons
- "My wife and I rented the “cabin” overnight. My only regret is not booking this for more nights. It’s perfect and the views and location are fantastic. Communication with the host was great and the story behind the build is cool as well. If you want to “unplug” this is the perfect place for you!" - "Amazing place to stay and enjoy a quiet time." - "If I could, I would take this rental home with me! A wonderful stay in a beautiful location near wildlife and local amenities. The hosts were great, and I hope to have a chance to visit again."

Chris was accommodating and friendly." - "Loved this little cabin. Perfect for us and 2 small kids, very clean, and extremely well stocked to make our stay comfortable. Host gave fantastic directions and dinner recommendations" - "A really nice little gem just outside Kalispell. Great spot for the dog and really peaceful. The only downside was limited air conditioning and the loft for sleeping was very hot during our stay. Additionally the Internet was not reliable so if you would expect to need reliable connectivity (ie to work remote) this would not be a good property. Loved all of the animals and the ability to explore with the pup. And easy access to so many activities."

- "Somehow, this property looks even better than the pictures make it look. Between the price, location, and the hosts, there’s not a better option for lodging in the state of Montana. John called me after I booked it and went over everything and what i could expect. Ian was onsite when I stayed and was super friendly, accommodating and a very gracious host. My stay at this property has by far been one of the best vacation experiences I’ve had so far and I can’t wait to come back in the future!"

Welcome to your wilderness retreat! This stand-alone cabin is a perfect retreat on 2.5 acres for a couples getaway, best friend pairs, small families, or individual adventurers. - "Perfect for two people. No problems with our stay." - "We loved the bear cabin, was the perfect private accommodation for restful nights after busy days outside. Very cozy, all the amenities you need. Tony was very responsive as well which was super helpful. Would definitely stay again!" - "Tony’s property makes a great home base for adventures! It’s about ten minutes from the airport and about 30 minutes from the west entrance to Glacier. This little cabin is perfect for two as it is not huge by any means. The bed is hard, but was very comfortable. The hot water in the shower does run out rather quickly, so you can’t take long hot showers to relax after long days hiking (not a big deal, but helpful to know before taking a shower). The grill outside was in great working condition and made for some tasty meals. A few more kitchen utensils and sharper knives would be helpful, but we made do. Tony is an excellent and quick communicator which was very much appreciated (a check-in/out folder or guide would be helpful too)! Our privacy was respected throughout our stay, which is something we value and, again, very much appreciated. All in all, a great rental that will help make your vacation fantastic! We know this property was recently acquired by Tony, so I’m certain the very minute things will only get better with time! Don’t hesitate to make this your home base for your Glacier adventures!"

Welcome to the Conners Cabin on Ashley Lake. Whether you are looking for a peaceful romantic getaway, or a quiet family vacation, this cabin provides the perfect Montana experience!
This adorable home provides seclusion, but is also easy to get to. It's so charming, you're bound to get that warm and cozy feeling that only comes from staying at a natural log cabin.
Inside - On the main level there is a futon couch that sleeps 2 in the living room. The cabin has a full kitchen, pantry, bathroom with shower and even a separate laundry room. The living room has a flatscreen TV and a DVD player, with streaming capabilities. The cabin has high speed internet for all your favorite handheld devices or laptop. Upstairs, the Master Bedroom has a comfortable queen bed, and a wonderful balcony that offers stunning lake views.
Let's go outside- The lakeside deck is the perfect place to enjoy the great outdoors. The inviting deck is located just 10 feet from the waters edge, and the water of Ashley Lake is unbelievably crystal clear. The large dock is very accommodating for boats, canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards. Enjoy your favorite hors d'oeuvres and beverages on the dock and take in the fantastic Montana sunset as the sun dips behind the mountains to the west. There is a large fire pit that's great for cooking hot dogs, roasting marshmallows for s'mores, and of course, telling your favorite campfire stories. Wildlife is abundant at the cabin, you could seedeer, turkey, rabbits, squirrels (including flying squirrels), chipmunks, ducks and even geese. Watch for Bald Eagles and Ospreys swooping down to catch fish from the lake.
Notes from the Owners - We absolutely adore Ashley Lake, the water is like the emerald/turquoise colors of the Caribbean. Our analogy is, "it's like the Caribbean with pine trees on the shore versus palm trees."
The best fishing on the lake for perch, is about 200 feet off the dock in the weed bed patch about 12 feet deep. On a calm day you can see the fish take the bait right beneath the boat. You can literally see hundreds of fish in your field of view. Polarized glasses make your view of the perch, salmon and trout even more spectacular. *Click on the Satellite function of the map below and zoom out to see how stunningly beautiful Ashley Lake truly is!

- "It’s always great!!! We love it here and have told many of our friends. We will be back soon!!" - "I started thinking about writing a review for this property before we checked out. I have stayed at a lot of VRBO's, and I enjoy the large designer homes with gourmet kitchens, but this sweet property hit a different note. It felt nostalgic and peaceful. I loved the way the screen doors creaked when you opened them, and the vintage touches in the kitchen. This is what you imagine when you think of a cabin on the lake. We spent most of our days lounging on the huge porch. We also rented the bunk house, and the screen porch was one of my favorite spots. I could sit there reading for hours while listening to the water lapping on the shore. The wildlife was abundant, the lake was a vibrant blue, and the cabin was pure serenity. I felt like I stepped back to a time before cell phones and internet. All my cares floated away, and I felt blessed to have this week to recharge. Note: the kitchen is small (but well stocked) which is fine because you will want to grill most of your meals. We stayed up late playing games at the dining room table and there is plenty of room for games and eating for four to six adults. I highly recommend this place."
Lovely large cabin just on the outskirts of Kalispell, minutes away from down town and about 15 min away from Whitefish. Both Glacier Park and Whitefish Mountain Ski resort are within 30 minutes of driving.

NOTE: as of October 20th, 2024 GOING TO THE SUN ROAD is closed until next spring….there is no way to know when this main attraction will reopen for 2025. Locals will usually recommend booking between the 4th of July and end of September to play it safe. Lucking out on an early opening (6/18/24) or visiting just before closure are truly special experiences though.
GLACIER PARK IS OPEN ALL YEAR, although between November and May the areas visitable are usually very limited. Lodges and most services in the park are roughly open April15-Sep15
BIKING going to the sun between late March and late June when the road is closed to cars is a 10/10 EXCEPTIONAL Experience every spring I am blown away even having done the ride so many times! It’s not as difficult as it sounds many companies rent bikes and even e-bikes.

Welcome to the Country Cabin! This stand-alone cabin is a perfect retreat on 2.5 acres for a couples getaway, best friend pairs, small families, or individual adventurers. The space
The cabin has a thermostat-controlled gas fireplace, a small window AC unit, and a washer/dryer inside. The property does have two other cabins, so the outside space will be shared but you have a private porch, with mountain views, to relax on. We love to support local and US-based business so inside you'll find a variety of high-quality Montana and U.S. made products that we've researched and use in our own home.
If we have a serious heat wave, the little AC unit may not keep up. We do have an additional portable unit available upon request.
Guest access
Your party will pull into the large gravel driveway and park in front of the first cabin on the right. Assorted wooden bear statues will greet you upon entering, as will the frequent deer.
Other things to note
The bed is a very comfortable queen ASLAN mattress. We hope you enjoy the personal touches we've put into this property!
A few things you should consider prior to booking to ensure you have the best experience possible:
-Some of the surrounding neighbors have partially finished homes, a car business, and other kinds of wily things going on that may or may not be your cup of tea. However, this is also part of the real MT experience so if you're open to embracing it, we’d love to host you!
-This property is on well and septic, which may be too much of an inconvenience for some guests. You may experience low water pressure during peak water usage times, but we are replacing the well pump this spring so it should remedy this situation.

After 2 years of meticulous work on every detail, this old family cabin has been transformed to a beautiful and unique retreat for your getaway to the crystal clear emerald colored water, and clear mountain air. On a quiet little island (accessed by a one lane causeway) you will enjoy the private lake front right outside your door. Campfires listening to the haunting call of the nesting loons, canoe or SUP on the often glass smooth lake, mountain bike the trails or roads. Bliss.
The space
Interior: the kitchen and dining area is spacious and fully stocked with dishes and cooking supplies (just add food!) and has a stunning view of the lake. Sleeping is in the loft with a very comfortable king size bed with two dormers also looking over the lake. This space is separated by a dividing wall from the two twin beds that can be pushed together for a couple if desired. The living space on the main floor has a comfy couch and chairs for visiting, playing games or watching TV. The bathroom has a full tub and shower and the hot water is an on demand system so you won’t ever run out! Full size W & D is discreetly hidden behind a door.
Exterior: your lake and dock is less than 10 yards from your front door. You have a “Solo” wood fire ring and Adirondack chairs between the deck and the shore. On the deck is a bar where you can enjoy your coffee in the morning and a cocktail or glass of wine in the evening. Either one while likely listening to the haunting call of the loons nearby. Or perhaps the eagles, osprey, ducks and maybe a beaver or otter if you are lucky. Your gas barbecue is waiting for your meal to be prepared.
Guest access
You will have the entire cabin, lake front, deck, dock, and fire pit area all to yourselves! We will program a unique number into the front door lock just for your access.
