This place is epic beautiful, and I am picky and have stayed at some of the most beautiful places you can imagine. Our rental car had a power steering issue and we could not drive it and the home owner was outside offering help faster than ride side service and a ride back to the rental place. The views are beyond beautiful and the location is central to Glacier and Whitefish and Flathead Lake. The coffee bar is amazing… refrigerator full of every coffee creamer and etc you could want… we asked for champagne, and up it came, ice bucket and all. Oh, and the hot tub…. Overlooking the fire pit and the lake is just epic! Even the wildlife- wow!!! This is a 5 star- everyone should see this place kind of visit and we feel blessed to have experienced it! Take what you want, leave what you have extra of. One of the strange things was our private bath was across the hall of the game room/ lounge are so we had to be careful when streaking but it worked out fine. This unique waterfront property is the last surviving boathouse with living quarters above it. From the road you will walk down a wooded path to a private incline tram system that will carry you a hundred feet down to a world of lake shore living. When you get to the covered open-air deck, it is complete with a Weber gas BBQ, patio heater, table, chairs and a swing for two. In 2015 we added a new deck to the front of the Boathouse. Stepping through the sliding glass door you will see that the living level is decorated with fishing motif. In the corner is a wood stove which can be enjoyed from the overstuffed sofa-bed. The kitchen is well-furnished with cooking utensils and all appliances except for a dishwasher. There is an adorable bath with shower only. Up the winder staircase is a loft bedroom with queen bed and step-in closet plus a dormer niche with a bench.

The boathouse level is totally private. The lower level with the dock and lake area of the property is shared with the property owners and their guests occasionally. You have your own boat slip and have full access to the dock, beaches, swim area and swim ladders. Guests may enjoy having a bonfire in the fire pit when there are no fire restrictions, though you will have to provide your own wood. The lakefront also has a romantic footbridge, patio area with picnic table. You are welcome to use the canoe, paddle boat and (2)kayaks which are easily launched from the beach area.

Somers Bay Boathouse is conveniently located: 12 miles west of Bigfork which has live theater and dining; an hour from Glacier Park; 10 miles from historic downtown Kalispel; 5 miles from Lakeside which has a grocery store and dining; great restaurants are within 5 minutes driving toward downtown Somers. The street above the boathouse is part of a biking/walking path which takes you to historic Somers.

- "Enjoyed my stay." - "The property owners have made their cabin an incredibly comfortable and enjoyable place to stay. One bed on main, and two in the loft. A nimble adult could definitely occupy a bed in the loft, too. Fully stocked with anything you might need, including games, utensils, coffee maker, BBQ, fire pit and firewood, and a crystal-clear stream just a few feet from the covered porch. We spent six days, making trips to Glacier NP (1.5 hrs), Whitefish (1.25), Polebridge (drove ATVs from Whitefish and back, four+ hrs), Hungry Horse Reservoir (1.25) and Kalispell (one hour). But, we also explored closer to the cabin, and fished the local rivers, found a stunning lake (Van Lake), and discovered (sadly) that several locally advertised lakes were walk in only, and we were not prepared to hike. (I bet they were beautiful). Our evenings were spent on the porch or by the creek making s'mores. So quiet, private and serene, that time just slipped away. We didn't get to bed until midnight every night. Would highly recommend!"

If you are staying with us for the first time we look forward to showing you our little neck of the woods located centrally on 21 acres in the charming town of Bigfork MT.

The space
Cabin 3 offers 460 sqft of living space. Upon Arrival you will find a generous size front porch with outdoor seating and BBQ to enjoy meals, drink a cup of coffee or just take in the beautiful scenery around you.
Once inside the cabin you will find a well stocked kitchenette equipped with mini fridge, stovetop, microwave and coffee maker, along with everything you need to enjoy home cooked meals during your stay. In this space there is also a dining table with seating for 4 and a gas burning fireplace.

On the other side of the room is our cozy living room complete with a sleeper pullout sofa, coffee table and TV.

The bedroom is located through the door and features a queen size bed and armoire.

Lastly the spacious bathroom offers a stand up shower complete with toiletries.

Winter season is gorgeous! 4wd needed anywhere in Whitefish.
