We have private, quiet lodging on our 34 acre estate away from the main house. Open space all around. No highway noise out here. The vacation rental is a chalet style second story lodging on top of a large garage not used during the rental months and it has your own private entrance, driveway, and a private yard with a picnic table in the trees.

Our home is in Woods Bay, a special place located on NW Montana's pristine Flathead Lake. The views from the dock are spectacular of both the lake and the surrounding mountains. Flathead Lake is the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi. It covers over 191 square miles with depths over 380 ft. and is one of the cleanest lakes in the world.

The town of Bigfork is a picturesque and charming place. World class art galleries, fine restaurants, a 27-hole golf course, live theatre and unique shops can all be found within a quaint Western setting. Located nearby, Glacier National Park, the Bob Marshall and the Swan Wilderness areas are full of wildlife and offer endless recreational opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts. Our private rustic cabin located inside Glacier National Park and on the shores of Lake McDonald with majestic views, beautiful pebble beach and endless sunrises & sunsets. Our property is limited in amenities and does not offer a kitchen, but does offer a unique stay inside Glacier National Park on the shores of the lake. Apgar is a small walk or drive away for dining options or boat rentals for your days on the lake. You can also find additional dining options in West Glacier only a 5 minute drive.

Enjoy your own piece of paradies that only a few can enjoy with a stay inside Glacier National Park. The cabin has two bedrooms and one full size bathroom. One room offers a queen bed and one room offers two twin beds. Each room is private with a Jack in Jill style bathroom between the two rooms. Enjoy BBQing (Gas grill available) and dining outside under our covered outside picnic area with outstanding views of the Garden Wall. The cabin does not offer a full kitchen but you will find the kitchen basics such as a kuerig coffee maker, dorm size refrigerator, microwave and gas grill. Boats can be rented in Apgar for your use on the lake or bring your own boat to enjoy. Owners private boats on property are not for rental use.

Q: Do you allow pets?
A: Yes! Up to (1) house-trained, small to medium-sized dog (50 pounds or less) is permitted for a pet fee of $75 per stay. Please ensure to add your dog to your reservation. If an unapproved pet is discovered, a fee of $100 will be billed to your account. No cats are allowed.

Q: Can we check-in early or check-out late?
A: Early check-in is not guaranteed. In the event your room is ready before 4:00pm, we'll let you know. We don't offer late check-out as our team needs time to prepare for our next guests and make sure everything is perfect for them - just like they did for you.

Q: What size is the fold out couch?
A: The couch folds out into a (firm, but comfortable!) queen-sized bed. We provide extra sheets, a blanket and two pillows for the couch. They're located in the closet.

Q: Do you allow smoking on-site?
A: No. Our entire property is a non-smoking property. This includes, but is not limited to, cigarettes, vapes, marijuana, etc. This is for the courtesy of all of our guests. If you need to smoke, please take it off-site, away from our property. A fee of $250 will be billed to your account if smoking of any kind occurs.

Q: Where is this room located?
A: This room is located on the ground level. No stairs are required for access.

Q: Do you offer cleanings during our stay?

One bedroom / one bathroom loft apartment, it is an open space though , there is not a door on the bedroom and the ceiling is low in the bedroom . It has a separate entrance with great view of back yard off the deck and view of the mountains out living room window. We have lots of wild life, deer and turkeys that hang out in our yard.
We are centrally located between Whitefish, Columbia Falls and Kalispell and only 5 minutes from the airport and a easy beautiful drive to Glacier National Park.

Space is separate upstairs loft apartment that is located above our garage. It has a small separate bedroom, that is set apart but does not have a door ,with a double bed and that has a low uneven ceiling. There is a portable air conditioner in the living area but not in the bedroom. A full bath with shower with limited lighting because of low ceilings. A kitchenette with refrigerator, toaster/convection oven, hot plate, coffee pot, and microwave. There is a family dog named Howzer that will be hanging around but is separate from your living quarters. And we have added chickens to the backyard.

Easy access to everything from this perfectly located home base. Less than 5 minute drive to base lodge/ski area. Quiet!

The space
The condo is three levels. The main level consists of the living area/kitchen and one bathroom (tub/shower). The couch is a hideaway bed.

Downstairs there are two bedrooms. One bedroom is a queen bed. The other bedroom has two twin beds. There is another bathroom (shower). The shower is tiny!

The loft has a a queen bed and one twin bed.

There is a split unit heating/cooling system.
Baseboard heaters.

The condo can sleep 7 plus a pullout couch but living space is tight. If you plan on being out and about exploring then this would be great. If you plan on spending lots of time in doors, visiting with family/friends then I would say it would be tight!

There is a map of Ptarmigan Village in the listing photos to show where the outdoor pool and indoor pool/hot tub are located in relation to the condo. The outdoor pool is steps away. There is a laundromat located in the village. There is ample, unassigned parking for the unit.

Ptarmigan Village, where the condo is located, is a quiet retreat. Development was built in 70’s and our unit is cozy, clean, and is priced right but it might not give you the aesthetic vibe for your IG posts. But hopefully you’re here to take in the stunning nature 🏔️

*This is a dated condo. Also bats live and love wooded areas. This condo is in the woods. The HOA sprays for them and we use repellants but some years they love our balcony more than others.

If you’re heading to Whitefish to ski Big Mountain, first week in February is historically when they get the most snow! ❄️

In snowy conditions:
Downtown Whitefish to condo is a 10 minute drive.
Condo to base lodge is a 3 minute drive.
Condo to private lake access is a 8 minute drive

Whitefish to Kalispell is 15 miles
Whitefish to GNP is 17 miles
Whitefish to Bigfork/Flathead lake is 34 miles
Glacier Park International Airport to condo is 17 miles
Missoula Airport to condo is 137 miles

Condo is two levels plus the loft.
The lower level consists of two bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has a queen bed. Bedroom 2 has two twin beds. The loft has a queen bed and one twin bed!

Kitchen is fully stocked.

Second shower is tight.
We provide basic toiletries such as shampoo, body wash, toilet paper, paper towels. If you’re like me and have special shampoo for your highlights and fancy skin care , I suggest packing it with you 🧖‍♀️
