Welcome to 421 S. Second Avenue! This beautiful, historic home in South Sandpoint has recently undergone an extensive remodel to the kitchen, bathrooms, and flooring, along with all new furnishings. These thoughtful upgrades were each made with intent, and to keep with the home's original design and 110-year old architecture. This 2-story home offers only the top floor as a vacation rental right now, while the bottom story will remain a long term rental with tenants. The upstairs consists of 2 bedrooms, each with a Queen bed. There is a full bathroom that is shared between both bedrooms.

On those hot summer days, the home is mostly shaded by the mature trees surrounding the property. We are five blocks from downtown Sandpoint and just a half a block from a wonderful bike/walking path that can take you to explore downtown Sandpoint or Dover.

Our location is great as its a short walk to the City Beach, Sandpoint Marina, great local restaurants, live music, wine bars, and shopping including Coldwater Creek. You may also be interested in outdoor gear shops, and lots of gift and antiques shops. Rental shops for bikes, jet skies and boats are also available within walking distance.

In the summer months beginning in May, enjoy Sandpoint's farmer's market at Farmin Park next to the Jeff Jones Town Square. There you can enjoy live music, local produce and crafts. And lets not forget other summertime favorites in Sandpoint, including Lost in the 50's car show (3rd weekend of May), a hometown 4th of July celebration including parades and variety show at the city beach. The Pend Oreille Arts council hosts the annual Arts and Craft Show in August. You'll also want to check out the music line-up for the Festival at Sandpoint that takes place on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille in August.

Even though most everything in Sandpoint is in within walking distance, Sandpoint has a local bus. There's a stop only about a block away from our apartment, and you can ride the SPOT (Selkirks-Pend Oreille Transit)bus to the Schweitzer base for a ride to the village, stores in Ponderay, and anywhere else you'd want to go around the Sandpoint area.

The location, on a quiet street at the edge of town, is perfect for sight-seeing, biking, water sports, shopping, dining, or just sitting around watching the brand-new wide-screen TV. The door-side parking, private entrance, and lush green grass and colorful flowers make it seem more like a house than an apartment. We felt very much at home! There are ample areas for snow shoeing and cross-country skiing all around. Bring your snow mobiles and other snow toys and take advantage of the endless opportunities. Our location is a faster and easier drive to town for the fantastic restaurants and nightlife without braving the steep and winding road up and down Schweitzer Mountain.

- "Great location and cabin! The surroundings and views are outstanding. The neighborhood is very quiet except the trains. The train rolling by isn’t bad, but the horns at night impact rest time. We really enjoyed the upstairs living space, views from the decks and the hot tub. Directions for check-in and navigation up the driveway need to be updated - they leave off two hairpin turns at the top past the previous shared parking spot. That shared spot is not big enough for two full size vehicles. Thankfully the private parking at the top was great. Need to update the online listing to delete air conditioning - there is none. Summertime the cross-breeze and fans work out well during the day. The place stays warm (high 70s) at night if you close the windows against train noise. Overall loved it and we would go back."
