Welcome to 421 S. Second Avenue! This beautiful, historic home in South Sandpoint has recently undergone an extensive remodel to the kitchen, bathrooms, and flooring, along with all new furnishings. These thoughtful upgrades were each made with intent, and to keep with the home's original design and 110-year old architecture. This 2-story home offers only the top floor as a vacation rental right now, while the bottom story will remain a long term rental with tenants. The upstairs consists of 2 bedrooms, each with a Queen bed. There is a full bathroom that is shared between both bedrooms.

On those hot summer days, the home is mostly shaded by the mature trees surrounding the property. Located in right in town, this home is ideal for a quick getaway, extended stays of a couple weeks, or longer! We are five blocks from downtown Sandpoint and just a half a block from a wonderful bike/walking path that can take you to explore downtown Sandpoint or Dover.

Our location is great as its a short walk to the City Beach, Sandpoint Marina, great local restaurants, live music, wine bars, and shopping including Coldwater Creek. You may also be interested in outdoor gear shops, and lots of gift and antiques shops. Rental shops for bikes, jet skies and boats are also available within walking distance.

In the summer months beginning in May, enjoy Sandpoint's farmer's market at Farmin Park next to the Jeff Jones Town Square. There you can enjoy live music, local produce and crafts. And lets not forget other summertime favorites in Sandpoint, including Lost in the 50's car show (3rd weekend of May), a hometown 4th of July celebration including parades and variety show at the city beach. The Pend Oreille Arts council hosts the annual Arts and Craft Show in August. You'll also want to check out the music line-up for the Festival at Sandpoint that takes place on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille in August.

Even though most everything in Sandpoint is in within walking distance, Sandpoint has a local bus. There's a stop only about a block away from our apartment, and you can ride the SPOT (Selkirks-Pend Oreille Transit)bus to the Schweitzer base for a ride to the village, stores in Ponderay, and anywhere else you'd want to go around the Sandpoint area.

The location, on a quiet street at the edge of town, is perfect for sight-seeing, biking, water sports, shopping, dining, or just sitting around watching the brand-new wide-screen TV. The door-side parking, private entrance, and lush green grass and colorful flowers make it seem more like a house than an apartment. We felt very much at home! In the winter, Enjoy the snow sports at North Idaho’s destination ski resort Schweitzer Mountain! The Schweitzer Mountain Village/Ski Resort is a short 30 minute drive from the loft. There are ample areas for snow shoeing and cross-country skiing all around. Bring your snow mobiles and other snow toys and take advantage of the endless opportunities. Our location is a faster and easier drive to town for the fantastic restaurants and nightlife without braving the steep and winding road up and down Schweitzer Mountain.

- "Great location and cabin! The surroundings and views are outstanding. The neighborhood is very quiet except the trains. The train rolling by isn’t bad, but the horns at night impact rest time. We really enjoyed the upstairs living space, views from the decks and the hot tub. Directions for check-in and navigation up the driveway need to be updated - they leave off two hairpin turns at the top past the previous shared parking spot. That shared spot is not big enough for two full size vehicles. Thankfully the private parking at the top was great. Need to update the online listing to delete air conditioning - there is none. Summertime the cross-breeze and fans work out well during the day. The place stays warm (high 70s) at night if you close the windows against train noise. Overall loved it and we would go back."

Welcome to Pinewood nest! This spacious studio is located on 5 forested tranquil acres just minutes away from the hiking, cross country skiing, and sledding at Pine Street Woods. Situated in a historic Sandpoint home, the lodge is 10 min from downtown Sandpoint and 20 min to Schweitzer. It features vaulted ceilings with windows and patio doors that look out on trees, fields and mountains. A queen bed sleeps two and the sofa converts to a full bed making this ideal for a couple or small family.

The space
Pinewood nest is spacious and light filled. There is a queen bed and a sofa which converts to a full bed. A smart TV allows you to log into your own streaming accounts. There's a dining area with a small table and chairs as well as a refrigerator, microwave, kettle, coffee maker and coffee and tea for your use. The bathroom features a large walk-in shower and two sinks.

The suite is part of a larger home which has historic details. The large beams came from an old trestle bridge in Bonner's Ferry. You'll also find wood from the first Schweitzer lodge which was built in 1963 and torn down in 1978. You'll even find a pair of original ski lockers from the lodge in the closet!

The property is 3 miles from downtown Sandpoint and is on 5 wild and beautiful acres. We often see deer, turkey and sometimes even moose.

The owner has an 11.5 year old doberman/lab mix who spends his time off-leash so it's important to be comfortable with an off leash dog to stay here please.

Parking is in the lower driveway in the spring/summer/fall when there is no snow. You can walk directly to the apartment that is accessed through two french doors that have a code. Parking is in the upper driveway in the winter and access to the apartment is down the flagstone steps and a small set of stairs.

Other things to note
Please note that the owner's dog will be off leash when she is home. It is normal and expected for a dog to bark when people first arrive on their land. This dog is friendly but just doing it's job of letting it's owner know that someone is here.

As you enter the space you are greeted with 20 foot tall vaulted ceilings in the living room. Toward the back of the unit is the kitchen and the bathroom. Up the open steel and wood stairway is the loft bedroom, large barn doors to enter the walk in closet with stackable washer and dryer, and a seating area with side table and work desk with chair.

Enter: You will enter through the black door. It is most likely open for you, there is a pass code for the door (which we will provide you prior to your stay). There is a common foyer from our garage into your private foyer (this door has a Bear Paws plaque on it). Most likely both are open however, both doors hold the same pass code to enter. You will pull into the space in front of the garage door. *We are here in the main home in front if you need anything at all!

It is nestled in the charming city of Sandpoint, directly on the shores of Idaho’s largest lake, 43-mile-long Lake Pend Oreille. The city is also surrounded by three major mountain ranges, the Selkirk, Cabinet and Bitterroot ranges providing spectacular views all year round.

There is a centrally located clubhouse, also known as The Retreat, where our staff will warmly welcome you to the property and show you to your condo or townhome. They are also more than happy to recommend local activities to make your stay unforgettable such as hiking, skiing, golfing, horseback riding, art exhibits, music performances, dining, antiquing, shopping, etc. There are also plenty of amenities to enjoy directly on the property including the Wildflower Spa at Seasons, heated outdoor pool, hot tub, private beach, fire pits, al fresco dining areas, fitness center, and a marina with boat slips available for rent.


THE MARINA

The property is situated directly on the shore line of the massive 86,000-acre Lake Pend Oreille. We have a private 80-slip marina complete with a dockmaster to assist you in preparing for a beautiful day on the lake. You can moor your own boat during your stay with us or simply rent from a local company. We can certainly recommend businesses that rent all types of watercrafts including kayaks, paddleboards, ski boats, wave runners and pontoon boats. Boat slip rentals are limited in the summer months, so please be sure to reserve yours when reserving a condo or townhome.



THE POOL & HOT TUB

The lakeside heated outdoor pool and hot tub are in the center of the community, directly in front of the clubhouse. They are open all year round, so you can cool off during the summer months or warm up after a fun filled winter day of skiing at Schweitzer Mountain.


PRIVATE BEACH

Our private beach allows you to swim in the lake and play in the sand without having to leave the property. Our staff can also assist you with building a lakeside beach fire in the evenings, allowing you to unwind and enjoy all of nature’s beauty at the end of your day.


AL FRESCO DINING AREAS

We have al fresco dining areas complete with grills and seating so you can enjoy a lovely meal with family and friends while taking in the amazing views. You can reserve 2-hour increments with our staff prior to your arrival or upon check-in.


THE RESIDENCES

We have a variety of different sized-residences available for rent, including 1, 2 and 3-bedroom condos as well as 5-bedroom townhomes. Each residence has an open floorplan and private balconies overlooking the lake. They are fully furnished with linens, terry, cookware, dining ware, and a washer/dryer.

This 1-bedroom condo can accommodate up to 4 guests with a king-sized bed in the master bedroom. This residence also features Twin bunk Beds and a Full Size Murphy Bed. There are two full bathrooms, with the master bathroom being private.


RENTAL AGREEMENT

A formal Rental Agreement will be sent for e-signature within 24 hours of booking. This must be completed within 48 hours of receiving to confirm and hold a reservation.

Penthouse 105 is the 3,000 sq ft Second Floor of the Historic Fidelity Trust Building that was build in 1906. It has been fully remodeled and updated yet still has the unique charm and character of a historic building. You will enter through a private front entrance on First Avenue and ascend the stairs to this spacious elegant apartment. Outside at the rear of the Penthouse you will find lovely patios and gardens leading down to the marina. The Bank and Barrel 33 both utilize the outside areas to serve during the summer months serving lunch, dinner and cocktails. From the Marina you can take the boardwalk across Sand Creek one block to access City Beach and the bike path.

Out the front door, you will have direct access to First Ave ( the Main Street of downtown) filled with shops and restaurants.

A 20 minute drive to Schweitzer Mountain for skiing. You have the best of both worlds!

We are a legacy timeshare resort with a fixed ownership schedule. That schedule runs with a Friday check in and check out day each week. Guests who book with us with a stay that overlaps the Friday-to-Friday schedule may be subject to relocating to a different condo of the same size during their stay. If applicable to your reservation we will contact you directly to make arrangements.

• Check-in time: 4:00 p.m. - Check-out time: 10:00 a.m.
• After-hours check-in is available. Please call to make arrangements for the lockbox code.
• All guests shall abide by POSR’s quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.

We are a smoke free property. Smoking is only allowed in designated areas.
Parking note: There is free onsite parking available for 2 vehicles. Additional vehicles are welcome but must park in our overflow parking lot across the road.
