The Colburn Schoolhouse is a retired 1930 brick schoolhouse located 7 miles north of Sandpoint ID. Each of the suites we have added are unique and artistically crafted to offer a 1 of a kind experience. In honoring the heritage of the building every Unit is named after an type of education. The original School building has predominately been preserved with only minor alterations to the exterior. The interior of each room will feature hand made details and custom tiled showers designed and fitted to compliment the designated theme of the room. In addition there is a large private parking lot for your vehicle. Sandpoint and Ponderay are only 7-15 minutes south with boat slips, restaurants, bars, wineries, breweries, shopping etc etc. Bonners Ferry is 25 minutes north and the Canadian border 40 minutes north. CDA is 55 minutes south.

An artist studio conversion replete with stained-glass windows from a local church, Chapel by the Pier, as its name suggests, is down the street from Third Street Pier, a South Sandpoint swimming hole and kayak launch. -Our cabin is clean, well stocked, and cozy. If you’re looking for a relaxing, low-key stay, this will be perfect! However, if you’re looking for luxury or fancy amenities, this probably isn’t the place for you.

-Accommodates up to 4 guests, but best suited for 2 people or a small family. The space and hot water tank are small.

-Owner’s home is located approximately 30 yards north of the cabin. We will always respect your privacy and take your lead on social interactions.

The space
Two private bedrooms with queen beds (memory foam mattress topper on one so you can choose your firmness). Bathroom with granite shower. Access to large private seasonal dock suitable for swimming and beach area with calm water. 10 minutes to world class golf (The Idaho Club) and 25 minutes to skiing ( Schweitzer Mountain ). Central heat and AC.

Guest access
Access to the guest house and lawn just outside with fire pit (wood available just ask). Also, access to the lakeshore and dock located just a short 450 foot (mildly steep, 50 vertical feet) walk down the winding path through the garden and hillside. The path does cross the road and as a result there is also parking 20 feet from the beach if you desire to drive there.

Parking space is limited to one vehicle. Moorage for your boat available for a small consideration.

If you are coming for skiing, please check Schweitzer Mountain website for information on ticket sales.

WIFI is StarLink satellite with speed up to 195mb depending on local usage. Cell reception is adequate to text and talk with available cell over wifi coverage. Television is via guest access on a Roku so bring or remember your login details to the streaming services you will want to use.

We have kayaks available for guest use launched from the floating kayak launch.

Lake level fluctuates. Water is up to the dock usually by late June, by late September the water will not be adequate for boating to the dock.

Parking space is limited.

Please avoid bringing trailers up the driveway. Trailer storage will be along Sunnyside road. Contact us for information.

The original homestead on a beautiful 20 acres, this sweet little blue house was recently remodeled into a comfortable and stylish 2 bedroom home. Enjoy this fabulous central location with your best friend(s). We welcome well-mannered dogs.

Only 20 minutes to Silverwood and 10 minutes to Sandpoint. Close to hiking and lots of outdoor recreation.

Please note there is a friendly dog that roams the property. His name is Sammy and he likes to announce your arrival!

The home is yours exclusively! You are also welcome to roam on the 20 acres, please respect our home and remain outside the white fence.

Other things to note
This home is very close to the highway and there are train tracks across the highway as well. It is surrounded by trees, so much of the noise is dampened. However, if you are sensitive to noise, we have provided a white noise maker and ear plugs.

Also, this home has stairs and a deep bathtub which may be challenging for some people.

We recommend that you discern whether this the right place for you! We have had many guests not bothered whatsoever!

The space
Our listing is tastefully designed with all the amenities to enjoy your stay.

Rest easy in the queen bed, pull out sofa bed or futon couch. Use the luggage racks to stay organized and tidy. The large kitchen is fully stocked for all your cooking needs and we provide coffee and tea. Freshen up in a tiled shower with a relaxing waterfall shower head. Clean your laundry with a washer/dryer and we provide detergent. Utilize the private backyard with a BBQ and seating area.

There are full time renters in the main house, please be respectful of their space.

If there is anything else you need in advance of your stay, please let us know!

The suite is situated at the end of our driveway behind the main house. There are 2 designated guest parking spots.

While we want you to enjoy your stay and feel completely at home, we do ask that you keep it down when walking to and from the unit and when in the private backyard (as a courtesy to our neighbors).

We will give you a code for the guesthouse.

The perfect get away in beautiful Sandpoint, ID. A private home located behind our main home. Only a few minutes from downtown. All new construction, appliances and furniture make this an extremely clean space for a relaxing stay. The outdoor deck features a serene view with wildlife. The back porch faces away from the main house, is very private, and comes equipped with gas grill, dining area, solo stove fire pit and camp chairs for roasting s'mores and bbq fun!

The small house ("casa pequena") is accessed through a wooden door and pathway on the right side of our main house. Casa Pequena is located directly behind our main house, but still feels private. We have ample parking near our front garage.

This cozy home is 15 minutes from the base of world class ski resort, Schweitzer; 15 minutes from downtown Sandpoint. Enjoy shopping downtown, taking breaks to enjoy the wonderful local restaurants. Head to the beautiful lake Pend Oreille for a swim, or go for a hike on one of the many local trails.

The space
When you arrive, stay to the right-hand side driveway. One covered parking spot pulls up to the front entry area; and there is plenty of room for additional parking if needed.

The blue door will have a key pad on it, which will grant access to the house. House is located upstairs; there is a shop on ground level, which is not included in the rental.

Owners live on the property, in a separate residence. For winter guests, who may want a cozy fire, owners may be available to help.

The property is used for a very small hobby farm; depending on the season, there may be animals present. Animals may include: chickens, pigs, goats, and dogs.

This cozy getaway is home to a very small hobby farm, so there may be animals present. Guests are welcome to look at the animals, however, please do not feed the animals without explicit owner permission.

The guest house is on the second level, above the shop. This is where you may call home base during your visit! Private residence has own bedroom, living room, kitchen, and bathroom. Kitchen is fully stocked with cooking utensils and cookware. Full sized refrigerator for use during your stay. Plates, glasses, all the things!

Bedroom has a king bed, bunk bed (twin on top, full on the bottom), living room has a full pull out bed from the couch.

The space
The bedroom has a queen bed with a grounded fitted sheet and linen duvet/pillowcases. The mattress is organic. The windows have blackout shades.

The upstairs sleeping loft is ladder-accessed and has a reading nook and two twin-sized convertible beds.

Both sleeping areas have views of Shadow Mountain.

The entire space is EMF-shielded and completely grounded. Guests will become reconnected to the electrons available to us on the earth's surface -- those we are designed to engage with -- and doing so has a myriad of health benefits.

The lighting is all incandescent to eliminate the dirty electricity from LED lighting and the water is purified, of course. We use no toxic chemicals to clean and there are real plants in the cottage to further improve the vibe and air quality.

There is a train track near the property, so there is intermittent train noise. It is not near a whistle stop, so the sound is generally limited to the train passing. Most guests report no issues sleeping despite this, but it's something to be aware of. Please note that trains are numerous in Sandpoint and many properties in proximity to town are impacted by some train noise.

Guests have access, via private entrance, to the entire cottage.

All technology is available for use and the host will assist as needed.

Other things to note
The location has great proximity to Schweitzer! The Red Barn, where guests can park and catch a bus up to the mountain, is two minutes away.

Guests receive one hyperbaric oxygen session for every two nights booked. Additional sessions are available for purchase. Hyperbaric oxygen is beneficial for elevation acclimation, post-work out recovery, energy enhancement, mental/spiritual health, and detoxification/inflammation reduction, among many other things.

The near-infrared sauna is designed to facilitate a truly parasympathetic experience. Your nervous system will thank you!

To ensure Safety features are included for peace of mind; fire blanket and extinguisher, smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and first aid kit.

World Class Schweitzer Mountain Ski Resort is located just a short 21miles/38 minutes to the lodge, or 14miles/25 minutes to the free shuttle parking lot (that takes you to the lodge which avoids the hassle of the crowded parking lot on top.) which runs every half hour.

With the fully equipped kitchen in your apartment allows you to fix your own meals, or if you didn't bring any, stop by one of the many local eating establishments in Sandpoint on your way back to your apartment. This eclectic little town offers many local restaurants, and gift shops as well.

As you arrive in Bayview, please make a brief stop at our office to collect the gate remote and house key. Prior to your scheduled arrival, you will receive the address to both our office and the property. Please remember to return the remote and key to the house's counter upon departure. Failure to do so will result in a $300.00 charge to cover the necessary rekeying and remote replacement, as outlined in the rental agreement you'll sign.
