The KC Loft is a 500 sq ft retreat constructed in 2015 in Rossland. The Loft is an open concept design for two adults that is fully furnished with a queen bed, full kitchen, laundry, and a full bathroom. Garage parking is available for secure storage for skis and bikes. The Loft is separate from the main house and has a private entry accessed from a set of stairs. Three large windows provide natural light and outstanding views of the valley. We are well situated in Rossland: The ski hill is a 5 minute drive away, a walk into downtown is 10 minutes, and mountain bike and hiking trails trails are right outside the door. Please note that we are strictly a short term rental and do not offer seasonal or long term rentals. (As per Rossland bylaws the Loft is licensed for two adults, has off street parking for 2 vehicles. 2023 Business licence 4755).

This bright one bedroom suite sleeps 4 people with a queen bed in the main bedroom and a comfortable pull out sofa. Prepare your own meals in the deluxe kitchen, you will find everything you need here. Lots of windows make this lower level suite nice and bright. There is a full bathroom with shower. You can curl up after a day on the slopes or out hiking to your lovely real wood stove, firewood included!

This modern and spacious two bedroom suite is located at the edge of ski mountains, meadows and trees. 1000 metres from Red Mountain Resort, drive or walk to the lifts at Red Mountain Resort. For cross country skiing, take advantage of Black Jack ski club groomed trails just a few glides away, it couldn't be easier to access the miles of track. You have down hill and cross country skiing at your door step!
In the warmer months head out your front door to access some of the best mountain biking trails in the West Kootenays. Enjoy a nature walk or head to go for a stroll or hike. In the summer enjoy wildflowers, birds and wildlife viewing.
Black Jack Flats is situated on rural acreage and shares a driveway with the Owners. Holly and David are your hosts and will be available to attend to you during your stay. No guest pets permitted but be advised that there are pets are living upstairs with owners, their German Shepard, Bailey, is a wonderful friendly dog and will be on this property in her fenced yard.

As part of the booking process, we will require that you agree to and sign a copy of our Terms and Conditions.
Approximately 3 to 7 days prior to your arrival we will email you, via DocuSign, our Terms and Conditions to be signed electronically. You are also required to provide your credit card details for the purpose of pre-authorizing a hold of $1000. CAD as a Damage Deposit. The pre-authorization will commence on your day of arrival and automatically expire after check out and property inspection.
Provided that you have completed and signed the Terms and Conditions, you will receive an email approximately 3 days prior to your arrival with self check-In instructions to the property.
FOR LONGER TERM BOOKINGS OF 27 NIGHTS OR MORE
This requires an Occupancy Agreement to be signed along with a non-refundable deposit equal to one month's rent and a Property Condition Guarantee (50% of monthly rental rate) required to be paid.
Cleaning fees charged for longer term stays go towards the departure clean at the end of your stay, additional cleaning charges may apply depending on the state of the property upon check out.
Please note that toiletries and laundry detergent are not supplied for long term bookings. Starter supplies including toilet paper, dishwasher tabs and garbage bags are provided.

During ski season, a complimentary guest shuttle runs regularly between the main day lodge and downtown Rossland for your convenience. Outside of ski season, we recommend having access to a vehicle or bike, as public transportation is not available during the shoulder seasons.

ROOM 1:
Our King Suite is spacious and bright. With a large, comfortable king sized bed, you'll have plenty of room for a good night's sleep. This room's maximum occupancy is 3 people with a king bed and a sofa sleeper. There’s a keyless, coded entry which will be emailed to you prior to your arrival. Inside the room, there is free high-speed wireless internet. The room has both air-conditioning and heat. There is a coffee station, small refrigerator, and a smart flat screen TV. Of course, being upstairs from the Flying Steamshovel Pub has it's advantages too - go down and have a drink or order a meal at the Pub. Also included is our locked bike storage room (code provided with check-in info).

Freshly renovated, completely separate, cozy and bright 450 square foot studio apartment in the ideal central location! A mere block from the center of town, with amazing access to all of the local retail shops, restaurants, grocery store, bakeries/coffee shops. Off-street parking, secure ski & bike storage, bike wash, and all the amenities you`ll need to have a blast. Full kitchen, full bath, in-unit laundry, A/C, high-speed WiFi, flat-screen TV (w Roku), queen-sized bed, twin-sized pull-out sofa. An outdoor shaded lawn space available for your three-season use, including a hammock, comfortable chairs, firewood, and a great fire pit! The outdoor firepit area is sometimes available in winter too when we decide to dig it out for special occasions. Two public electric vehicle charging stations are located mere 75 meters down the street.
We reside on the property in a separate, but attached apartment, and are often available to assist as needed, answer questions, or provide helpful local advice if you like. That said, we know many people want to unwind on holiday and don`t need us. We`re around only as much as you desire us to be! We like people though, and are happy to socialize, so don`t hesitate! :-)

A sparkling new addition to midtown completed in January 2025! This newly constructed, self-contained 500 square foot bachelor studio located a mere block from downtown! The grocery store, bakery/coffee shops, brewery, restaurants, gym, retail shops, and the FREE ski shuttle bus are all at your doorstep! Full kitchen, bathroom, laundry, A/C, high-speed wifi, large flat-screen TV, king-sized bed plus queen-sized pullout, BBQ, secure bike & ski storage, and a firepit for you to enjoy!
We are located in the IDEAL walkable, central location a mere block from downtown (no need to drive anywhere). Our local shops, restaurants, grocery store, bakeries/cafes, gym (also climbing gym), skate park, live music are all right at your doorstep! Not to mention direct access to the amazing trail networks and we're on the free ski shuttle bus route too! The Flying Steamshovel Gastropub is basically across the street, and the Rossland Beer Company (local craft brewery) is just down the street, for example. The fabulous Ferraro's grocery store is just a block away. These are just a few of the excellent quick-access amenities.
We are in a super central location, on the free ski shuttle bus route, easily walkable to everything! We are directly on the main bicycle path to the trailhead as well. One accessible (flat) off-street signed parking spot, in addition to free street-parking available. Public electric vehicle (EV) charging stations are available just down the street, about 75 meters away in an off-street parking lot.
Bears do wander through our property every now and again, particularly in spring and fall in the late evening, early morning or overnight hours. They are normally just passing through, so just be calm, give them a wide berth, let them go on their way, and they will normally do so. Also keep your food waste and scraps bagged and do not place that anywhere outside of the apartment. If you are staying more than a few continuous days with us, ask us how best to handle your food waste, and we'll inform you and often lend a hand. It is also recommended to keep food scent out of your vehicle and lock your doors. Our local bears are smart and have learned to open car doors!

A beautiful ~500 square foot basement studio apartment, with high ceilings, plenty of natural light from south facing windows, and lots of warm interior lighting as well. Separate entrance with keypad access. Fully equipped kitchen, full bath with your own in-unit laundry, comfy queen-sized bed with sparkling clean bedding. High-speed wifi, TV (w/Roku), lockable ski/bike storage, bike wash station/repair stand, off-street parking. Located on a central, but private and nicely landscaped property. An outdoor lawn/patio space available for your use in the summer with a fire pit as well (sometimes available in winter too when we decide to dig it out). Well-insulated interior space that is cozy and warm in the winter, and cool and comfortable in the summer. Two public electric vehicle charging stations are located mere 75 meters down the street.
Guest access
Immediate access to all the amenities of town right at your doorstep! No need to drive to the grocery store, pubs, restaurants, bakeries, coffee shop, pharmacy etc. We are located right on the bike path to the main trailhead for walking, hiking and biking, and a block away from the ski shuttle! There is one fairly large off-street parking spot available for your convenience. Free street parking is also immediately available, and EV charging stations are a mere 75 meters down the street.
Other things to note
Just to let you know, bears do wander through our property every now and again, particularly in spring and fall in the late evening, early morning, or overnight hours. They are normally just passing through, so just be calm, give them a wide berth and let them go on their way, and they will normally do so. Also keep your food waste and scraps bagged and do not place that anywhere outside of the unit. If you are staying more than a few continuous days with us, ask us how best to handle your food waste, and we'll inform you and often lend a hand. It is also recommended to keep food scent out of your vehicles and lock your doors. Unlike the city, this warning is not at all because of any threat of theft from humans in Rossland...rather it is because our local bears are smart and have learned to open vehicle doors!

Getting around the base area is all within walking distance and the town of Rossland is a short 10 minute drive from Nowhere Special. During the ski season there is a guest shuttle that transports guests to and from the main day lodge of the resort to the heart of Rossland on a regular basis. Outside of ski season, we do recommend having a vehicle/bike/etc as there is no public transportation in the shoulder seasons.

The space
Nothing is skimpy in the captains quarters. Floors are heated throughout. The galley is fully equipped with quality gear and ample cooking utensils. One bedroom is queen-size, and one is king with a Tempur-pedic fully adjustable bed and a large desk if you feel the need to work. The master bath includes a shower with multiple options and bidet.
The unit has a shared 12 person hot tub, a prime inside heated garage space, and grants ideal access to the slopes. High quality linens, sheets, and everything else you need for an excellent stay are ready for your arrival. Two La-Z-Boy chairs (one electric) are in the living room, as well as a 72 inch smart TV.
