In winter, glide across miles of groomed cross-country trails at Black Jack Ski Club just steps away, or take a short kilometer drive across the highway to RED Resort for downhill skiing. In summer, explore vibrant wildflowers, abundant wildlife, and scenic hiking and biking trails—including the new terrain park at RED. Golf, relax, or simply soak in the sweeping valley views, with eastern sunrises over Trail and stunning Granite Mountain vistas right from your bed.

This cabin was built in 2006 and features high quality finishing and craftsmanship inside and out. It's situated on rural 5 acres and shares driveway, ski wax room and bike tuning room with the Owners, Aladar and Nattana.

The bright two bedroom cabin sleeps 4 people with a queen bed and single bunk beds. Prepare meals on the deluxe gas grill, cook top, dutch-oven and microwave (no stove but there is a full size fridge). There's front load full sized washer and dryer, heated towel rack and 4pc bathroom with bathtub and shower.

This is a rustic cabin, where you want to get away from it all and leave the devices at home. There is no cable or satellite offered. There is WIFI but it is slow and is often spotty.

Sorry, no pets allowed.

Come to our area of British Columbia for the Redstone Golf Course and the Upper Louie Joe Trail (both nearby); stay at this one-of-a-kind house within walking distance of downtown Rossland. Pets welcome!
The Space
I purchased this architectural beauty—which was completely unfinished inside and heated only by space heaters and the oven—with a plan to bring it back to life. Now it's ready to be shared with guests to Rossland, reborn with curved arches, charming doorways, vibrant furnishings, original art collected from around the world, and rich wood floors.
The quirky lines and interior design highlight angled ceilings, with glass and chrome accents and unique lighting fixtures. My goal was to create a playful, modern-art-gallery house where you'll feel comfortable spending lots of time, not just bedtime.
But when you do want to sleep, your group will have plenty of space. The house has two full master suites, each with queen beds and their own attached bathrooms with funky features. There are also two more bedrooms—one with a queen bed and another with a double and a single bed (these two share a bathroom with double sinks and a gas fireplace).
Up to 8 can sleep here comfortably, but if your group is larger than that, we can add the basement suite to your booking. Message me for more details.
Guest Interaction
I (Phil) live in the basement suite and know both the house and the area inside and out. I'm nearby if you need help with something, or just want a recommendation for dinner. Generally, though, I'm a quiet, hands-off host who leaves guests to enjoy their stay.
Guest Access
Guests have access to the entire top four floors, which is about 3800 square feet of living space. Perfectly sized for a group of friends, couples' getaways, reunions, or multi-family trips, the house typically sleeps 8 people. With prior arrangement, the basement suite can also be added to your booking.
A full kitchen is all yours to use, including an island with chairs so you can sip wine with friends while creating your culinary masterpiece. We have two small decks on two different floors of the house and there's even a BBQ area off of the kitchen.
Your well-behaved pet is welcome!
The Neighborhood
This is easily the most unique and interesting house in our small, residential area. It's situated at the head of upper end of the Loui Joe Trail and is quite close (walking distance) to town. Because this is a small and intimate community, we do ask that you be respectful of our neighbors.
Rossland itself has the feel of an old mining town, and its surrounding area is renowned for its access to natural beauty, especially mountain biking/trail running on the iconic Seven Summits (Rossland is called the "Mountain Bike Capital of Canada"). The ski hill and surrounding area are famous for tree skiing and easy side country access, and we have a world class cross country ski and biathlon facility, too.
In the summer, we are close to lakes and rivers. The house is just a short walk from Redstone Golf Course, with even more world-class golf courses within a 1-2 hour drive.

This modern and spacious two bedroom suite is located at the edge of ski mountains, meadows and trees. 1000 metres from Red Mountain Resort, drive or walk to the lifts at Red Mountain Resort. For cross country skiing, take advantage of Black Jack ski club groomed trails just a few glides away, it couldn't be easier to access the miles of track. You have down hill and cross country skiing at your door step!

In the warmer months head out your front door to access some of the best mountain biking trails in the West Kootenays. Enjoy a nature walk or head to go for a stroll or hike. In the summer enjoy wildflowers, birds and wildlife viewing.

Black Jack Flats is situated on rural acreage and shares a driveway with the Owners. Holly and David are your hosts and will be available to attend to you during your stay. No guest pets permitted but be advised that there are pets are living upstairs with owners, their German Shepard, Bailey, is a wonderful friendly dog and will be on this property in her fenced yard.

The space
The house was built in 2020 with energy efficiency in mind. It's quiet, is centrally located in Rossland, has free parking, and is the perfect spot for exploring the West Kootenay Region. There are 2 bedrooms (Queen & Twin, Queen), a full bath, and an open design kitchen/dining/living room with a vaulted ceiling to 14 feet. The views of the Rossland Range are superb out the floor-to-ceiling windows. Guests comment on the comfortable mattresses, high quality linens, the unique granite countertops, and the functional design of the open concept.

A mere block from the center of town, with amazing access to all of the local retail shops, restaurants, grocery store, bakeries/coffee shops. Off-street parking, secure ski & bike storage, bike wash, and all the amenities you`ll need to have a blast. Full kitchen, full bath, in-unit laundry, A/C, high-speed WiFi, flat-screen TV (w Roku), queen-sized bed, twin-sized pull-out sofa. An outdoor shaded lawn space available for your three-season use, including a hammock, comfortable chairs, firewood, and a great fire pit! The outdoor firepit area is sometimes available in winter too when we decide to dig it out for special occasions. Two public electric vehicle charging stations are located mere 75 meters down the street.

We reside on the property in a separate, but attached apartment, and are often available to assist as needed, answer questions, or provide helpful local advice if you like. That said, we know many people want to unwind on holiday and don`t need us. We`re around only as much as you desire us to be! We like people though, and are happy to socialize, so don`t hesitate! :-)

Full kitchen, bathroom, laundry, A/C, high-speed wifi, large flat-screen TV, king-sized bed plus queen-sized pullout, BBQ, secure bike & ski storage, and a firepit for you to enjoy!

We are located in the IDEAL walkable, central location a mere block from downtown (no need to drive anywhere). Our local shops, restaurants, grocery store, bakeries/cafes, gym (also climbing gym), skate park, live music are all right at your doorstep! Not to mention direct access to the amazing trail networks and we're on the free ski shuttle bus route too! The Flying Steamshovel Gastropub is basically across the street, and the Rossland Beer Company (local craft brewery) is just down the street, for example. The fabulous Ferraro's grocery store is just a block away. These are just a few of the excellent quick-access amenities.

We are in a super central location, on the free ski shuttle bus route, easily walkable to everything! We are directly on the main bicycle path to the trailhead as well. One accessible (flat) off-street signed parking spot, in addition to free street-parking available. Public electric vehicle (EV) charging stations are available just down the street, about 75 meters away in an off-street parking lot.
Bears do wander through our property every now and again, particularly in spring and fall in the late evening, early morning or overnight hours. They are normally just passing through, so just be calm, give them a wide berth, let them go on their way, and they will normally do so. Also keep your food waste and scraps bagged and do not place that anywhere outside of the apartment. If you are staying more than a few continuous days with us, ask us how best to handle your food waste, and we'll inform you and often lend a hand. It is also recommended to keep food scent out of your vehicle and lock your doors. Our local bears are smart and have learned to open car doors!

From the airport, follow signs for eastbound Interstate 90. Exit the I-90 at exit #281 (US 395N – Division Street). Drive north along Division Street through Spokane. Continue to follow Hwy. 395 N through Chewelah and Colville. At Kettle Falls, turn right onto Hwy. 25 N. Continue along Hwy 25 through Northport to the Patterson BC customs office. In Canada, Hwy 25 becomes Hwy 22. Follow Hwy 22 until you reach Rossland on your right,

From Kelowna, British Columbia - 3.5 hours:

From the airport, turn left on Airport Way and follow signs for Highway 97. Turn left onto Highway 97, then, from there, you can turn left onto Highway 33. Highway 33 continues for 130km, then you can turn left on the Crowsnest Highway, or Highway 3. 140 km later, you can turn right on Highway 3b for 24 km, and you will see Rossland on the left.

From Vancouver, British Columbia - 7 hours:

Take TRANSCANADA 1 eastbound to Hope. At Hope, follow Hwy 3 through Princeton, Osoyoos, and Grand Forks. At Nancy Greene Lake, approximately 45 minutes past Grand Forks, turn right onto Hwy 3B. Follow Hwy 3B until you reach Rossland.

From Calgary, Alberta - 7.5 hours:

Go West on TRANS CANADA 1 through Banff to provincial Hwy 93. Go South on Hwy 93 through Cranbrook to provincial Hwy 3. Go Southwest on Hwy 3 through Creston to Hwy 3A. At Trail, turn left onto Hwy 22 to Rossland.

There is one fairly large off-street parking spot available for your convenience. Free street parking is also immediately available, and EV charging stations are a mere 75 meters down the street.

Other things to note
Just to let you know, bears do wander through our property every now and again, particularly in spring and fall in the late evening, early morning, or overnight hours. They are normally just passing through, so just be calm, give them a wide berth and let them go on their way, and they will normally do so. Also keep your food waste and scraps bagged and do not place that anywhere outside of the unit. If you are staying more than a few continuous days with us, ask us how best to handle your food waste, and we'll inform you and often lend a hand. It is also recommended to keep food scent out of your vehicles and lock your doors. Unlike the city, this warning is not at all because of any threat of theft from humans in Rossland...rather it is because our local bears are smart and have learned to open vehicle doors!

This home has everything required for your winter ski trip or summer vacation including a fully updated bath and kitchen that offer a modern feel while maintaining the rustic charm of its early 1900's heritage. Wether its champaign powder or a chain slapping good time you seek, our little mountain shack makes the perfect cozy retreat at the end of your adventures.

The space
Our recently renovated mountain home in upper Rossland is within walking distance to the town's many cafes, restaurants and boutique shops and is only 4 km's from RED Mountain Resort. Enjoyed a few brews at Rafters? No worries! Hop on the Rossland Ski bus or just point your tips downhill and land at the front door! (Some advanced glade riding abilities may be required... but a fun challenge for sure.)
Currently, the cottage has one queen bed and a double pull-out upstairs as well as a queen bed in the downstairs bedroom. The upstairs "bedroom" is more of a loft space however, so it does not have a door or separate rooms for the queen and double beds. There is also a futon available upstairs but with the single bathroom situation we find the place can only hold up to six guests comfortably.

We have two Malamutes of our own that regularly accompany us on life adventures including many stays at the mountain shack. Despite having two large dogs we strive to keep a clean, odor free home and ask fellow pet owners staying at the house to have the same respect.
Our town logo is a bear due to the fact that they regularly roam through town. Please be bear-aware for your own sake, your families and your pet's!!!
If your pets are young or unfamiliar with bears, coyotes and wolves they may get themselves into potentially life threatening situations especially if left unattended outside. The cottage has a fully fenced back yard you are welcome to utilize but access is from the alley only or down a set of steep stairs from the house. Our plum tree and our neighbor's fruit trees regularly attract bears. This is not meant to scare you, but simply make you aware of the beautiful environment we live in and give you the knowledge to make sound decisions.

A perfect spot to relax and unwind after a great day. The Park Street Suite is nestled in a quiet area and surrounded by nature. Some of the highlights of the suite include bountiful gardens, patios with stunning views, a sauna for optimizing on relaxation and rejuvenation, and we are close proximity to downtown Rossland.

The space is a beautiful bright spacious 1000 sq. ft. garden level suite. Guests have a private entrance, living area, fridge/freezer, partial kitchen (toaster oven, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, blender, air fryer, electric frying pan and induction burner) BBQ, private bathroom, laundry room and sauna. Please note that there are outdoor stairs (30) that access this suite.
Durning the winter the stairs and walkway could be slippery. While we make sure that they remain clear of snow please take extra caution as they may still be slippery.

We are a local, friendly outdoorsy family living upstairs who love to travel and enjoy the many things this area has to offer.
We enjoy meeting new people and love to socialize. At the same time will respect the privacy and peace and quiet of our guests.

Snowboarding, skiing, cross country skiing, golfing, gardening and relaxing are just some of the many things we enjoy. The recreation possibilities around Rossland are endless! We would be happy to help you plan some adventures while in the area or share any knowledge about the area. You could also visit Tourism Rossland or Kootenay Lake Tourism (Nelson) for regional ideas for your trip.

-Please note that in the winter, there’s a lot of snow, so watch your step going down to the suite. While we do all the snow plowing, the steps can sometimes be slippery.

In the spring, summer, and fall, Rossland sees a lot of bear activity as they often come into town searching for food. Please ensure there is no food or drinks left in your car, as bears are known to break in if they smell anything appealing. Unfortunately, several families in our town have had their cars written off due to bear damage, and I would hate for that to happen to one of our guests. Thank you for helping to keep the bears (and your car) safe!

The space
The modern cabin is nestled towards the back of the property in a low impact setting, perched high on a metal pile foundation which provides lush valley views and sunrises, as well as views of the old orchard and farm animals that live inside the fenced pasture.

There is a small trail network for guests to explore from the back of the house with a small peaceful creek nearby. The trails also connect to the Rossland bike network. Remnants of the historic farm can still be seen throughout.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire unfenced area of the property during their stay including the trails in the forest behind the house.
Guests may see someone coming to the barn to check on the animals during the daytime periodically, but it is quite far away from the house.

*Cell service is limited inside the cabin, but works once you step outside onto either deck.

*The bedroom does not have blinds, but privacy is guaranteed—floor-to-ceiling windows face directly into the forest

*There are animals in the pasture nearby. Please do not open any gates or feed them, but feel free to say hi from the other side of the fence—they’re friendly and love visitors!

We also ask you to not let the dogs sleep on the bed or lounges please bring bedding for them.

The space
Suite features a spacious one-bedroom layout with a king-sized bed, a queen sized pull-out couch and all amenities. 10’ ceilings throughout and south facing exposure. Massive patio with fireplace and private barrel sauna. Concrete driveway parking and secure, in-door storage room for all your outdoor gear equipped with boot dryer, shelving, bike rack, ski rack and bicycle repair stand.

Guest access
Self-contained, one-bedroom private suite. Designated gear storage room. Sauna is shared with owner but guest's use is always prioritized and guests will always have private, uninterrupted use. The sauna is exclusively for registered paying guests. Please refrain from inviting outside individuals to use the sauna.

Other things to note
****The suite is walk-out basement level. There are two large staircases that you must be able to navigate to access the storage room and suite.****

****There is active construction of houses at the street below the property. You may be subject to construction noise.****

****If you suffer from pet allergies, please note that we share our home with two dogs and a cat. While they never enter the suite, we cannot guarantee a pet allergy free environment.****

The space
Located in the newly opened Crescent Development at Red Mountain Resort. This home is a space-efficient alpine gem and thoughtfully designed to maximize comfort and utility. The sizable studio offers a cozy queen sized pull-out and a queen-sized Murphy bed, seamlessly transforming from a relaxing lounge during the day to a restful retreat at night. Beautiful custom built-ins provide plenty of storage, keeping the space open and clutter-free. Enjoy the sizable and stocked kitchen to prepare your favorite foods.

A personal gear locker just outside your front door is perfect for storing your skis, snowboards, as well you have the space to dry your wet gear with out clutter the living space after a day of adventure.
