Our lakefront townhome is in pristine condition and is ideal for two families to stay at the same time. Our home sleeps 7 plus a sofa bed ideal for 2 children! This townhouse has it all, enjoy 1600 Sq. Ft. of luxury family living on two floors! Our townhome features an open floor plan, tons of warm southern exposure and light, 9ft ceilings, a high end, fully equipped kitchen with granite counters and a wine fridge, a heavy duty laundry set, a water softener, and tasteful furniture throughout!

On the upper floor you will find 3 large bedrooms, the laundry room and two full bathrooms. The master bedroom has a king size bed, a 40 inch TV, and an ensuite bathroom with two sinks, a bathtub and shower. The room faces south with an unobstructed view of the sparkling lake from your own private balcony! The second bedroom has a brand new king size bed and lots of room for a playpen or children's cot (not included). This room gazes over the pool area and has a desert mountain view. The third bedroom has a single over double bunk bed (with a brand new mattress) with built-in stair case. The second bathroom up stairs is spacious and has a step-in shower.

On the main floor there is a powder room, a gourmet kitchen with high end appliances and a wine fridge, an open concept dining and living room with sit down dining for up to 10 people, comfortable genuine leather furniture including a sofa bed ( with a brand new mattress) and two new leather recliners. There is also a cozy fireplace, and a brand new 55 inch TV. After you spend the morning at our private sandy beach flanked by 300 feet of cool green lawns, why not head for the pool or hot tub? It’s less than 15 meters away from the unit and open from May to October. The fall is fantastic in Osoyoos with warm days and cool evenings. Many golfing activities and winery events happen in and around Osoyoos in the fall! Spring is beautiful in Osoyoos and quieter than the busy times in summer. Make it a family tradition to spend Easter in Osoyoos and enjoy the amazing cherry blossoms in full bloom.

Take a walk to the award winning N’knip winery for a tasting and pick up a lovely bottle of wine for an evening toast to the day, or try one of countless other wineries in the area. A convenient Hop on-Hop off bus services is available. There are many companies providing winery tours in the area.

One of our favorite outings is less than a km away at the N’knip horse back riding stables. The early morning ride with the family on well trained horses through a spectacular piece of Canada’s only dessert is a must do. The view on the trail is breath taking looking all the way south to Oroville in Washington State to Oliver in the North.

Besides swimming in the warmest lake in Canada, try boating, sailing, boarding, cycling, golfing, fruit picking or visit our pioneer museum packed with all the local artifacts and historical information. How about a 2 block walk with the family for your choice of 48 flavors of ice cream and a ride on a go cart or mini golf at another favorite attraction called ”Rattlesnake Canyon” Your kids or grand-kids will beg to come back every summer!

The 12 minute drive to town is close to the local amenities yet far enough away for privacy and tranquillity. Lake Osoyoos is Canada's warmest freshwater lake with an average summertime temperature of 24 degrees Celsius (75 degrees Fahrenheit). The crowds can get hectic in the summer tourist season and this suite allows you to pick and choose when and how you want to engage in the activities and when you want to rest in stillness.

The Space:

Our large home is almost 5000 square feet and resides on 12 acres of desert landscape and is the natural habitat to wildlife. Big Horn Sheep are regularly sighted on our property as well as yellow-bellied marmots, and birds such as Bald-headed and Golden Eagles, owls (Pygmy and Great Horned), woodpeckers (including the 'sensitive and vulnerable species Lewis woodpecker' according to BC Bird Species List) , quail, hummingbirds and songbirds. We are approved Wildlife Habitat Stewards.

Guest Access:

Guests have access to the 12 acres and there are several benches situated around the property at the higher levels.

The suite is ideal for 2-4 people; we have 2 bedrooms with queen beds. This tastefully furnished second bedroom is quiet and private and built on mountain bedrock so is raised up. The main comment from guests in that bedroom is "it is fit for royalty".

There is a living room between the 2 rooms and a smaller one near your private deck. There is a TV in the larger Master Bedroom and in the larger living room.

There are several seating areas around the acreage that is also available to our guests.

Interaction with Guests:

We often work from home and we leave it up to our guests as to how much contact they want. If you would like to be greeted upon your arrival to be shown around or help with your luggage, we can do that (especially if given notice so that we can book clients accordingly).

The Sahaja Suite (and Sadhana Room) are quite separate from the living quarters of the hosts so enjoy your stay in privacy but we are a text or call away should you need any questions answered or need supplies.

The Neighbourhood:

All neighbours own 10 acre lots or more on the sunny south slope of Anarchist Mountain and enjoy their privacy. It is secluded, quiet and restful. As such, the location is very peaceful and private.

Getting Around:

We are not on a bus route so you will need your own vehicle.

We are an eco-friendly establishment and provide biodegradable shampoo bottles (not just recyclable but completely biodegradable) and earth-friendly supplies. We also have comprehensive recycling bins that we encourage our guests to use (but is not mandatory).

About Your Hosts Karen and Herman (Joined VRBO in 2017):

My partner Herman and I have always hosted guests whether it's friends over for home-cooked dinners, big outdoor parties, or longer visits from friends and relatives near and far.

Both of us have lots to share and we have a wide range of interests (as in very wide) that put people at ease no matter what their walk of life they are from. We are comfortable in the art world, spiritual or consciousness-raising realms, and in nature/the outdoors (ok maybe not politics so much).

Herman loves reading, personal growth, outdoor living skills, exploring and a good cup of coffee while Karen loves music, decorating, painting and a perfect cup of tea. We have recently added grand-parenting to our growing list of interests! Karen's studio is the workshop building on the premises and you can often spot her at work getting ready for a show. She currently has art hanging in the vacation rental suite and at Nk' Mip Cellars/Spirit Ridge just down the hill (has been there since about 2008). Any art of hers in the suite is available for sale.
Endangered Ecosystem

We are in an “antelope-brush ecosystem” of the Okanagan which is one of the four most endangered ecosystems in Canada. It is a pocket of dry grassland dominated by bunchgrasses, the wind (atavatic and katavatic), and the scraggly dark branches of antelope-brush.

They weren’t extensive when European settlement began in the 1800’s, and over the past century more than 60 percent of them have been destroyed and converted to vineyards, orchards, croplands, or urban residential and industrial areas. Much of the remainder has been disturbed and invaded by foreign plants such as knapweed and cheat-grass. Only 9 percent now remains relatively undisturbed.

The antelope-brush ecosystem is poorly known, without the high public profile of an old-growth forest. In addition, grassland habitats are subtle in character, and changes may go unnoticed for a long time.

What is their history? These small ecosystems are remnants of communities with ancient origins, probably dating back 10,000 years. After the glaciers of the Pleistocene melted, plant migration and vegetation changes were widespread. In particular, Great Basin species (those from arid areas west of the Rockies) responded to a substantial warming about 8,000 years ago by moving northward into the hot, dry valley bottoms of what is now southern British Columbia.

Because of its small extent and the formidable threats to its integrity, the antelope-brush community on the lowland benches of the south Okanagan is considered one of Canada’s four most endangered ecosystems. Although antelope-brush grows in small pockets as far north as Kelowna, ecosystems dominated by this species occur mainly south of Penticton, where they cover sandy or gravelly soils at lower elevations. Less than 5,000 hectares remain, and over 60 percent of these areas lie within the Osoyoos Indian Reserve. Very little of the antelope-brush steppe is preserved within protected areas – two small ecological reserves north of Osoyoos protect token tracts, and one of these was almost entirely burned in 1993.

This gorgeous townhome has been recently renovated, tastefully decorated and stocked with everything you will need to sit back and relax.

You are literally steps from one of Osoyoos' most popular sandy beaches and also steps from a beautiful public park.

The townhome is walking distance to restaurants, coffee houses, pubs, the bakery and a liquor store. This location cannot be beat. Welcome to paradise. You won't want to leave.

Please be advised that the maximum overnight house guests is 6. Violation of this rule can result in cancellation of your stay with no refund. Also please be advised that the person booking is responsible for any damage that occurs to the home during your stay and the repair/replacement cost will be deducted off the damage deposit. We understand that accidents happen- if you accidentally break or ruin an item please let us know so we can replace it for the next guests. Please don't attempt to hide damages. Overtly stained towels (including those bleached from the use of facial creams/cleansers) will have the replacement cost per towel deducted from the damage deposit. We kindly ask you use disposable face wipes if you are using acne/medicated face cleansers.

We are a strictly no pet home- violation of this rule will result in immediate cancellation of your stay with no provided refund.

Lastly, as we are located so close to the water and have a large green space with numerous flowers/scrubs on site so you may encounter bugs/animals endemic to the area during your stay including ants, spiders, beetles, wasps, bees, and mice. While we do our best to ensure these are always just outdoors (and never indoors) we cannot control what may enter the home if doors are left open etc. Should you encounter any of these in the property and would like assistance, please reach out immediately to us.

We strongly encourage all of our guests to purchase trip cancellation insurance. While we will do our best to work with you in any situation, we do have a clear cancellation policy listed. In the event you cannot travel (ie. covid exposure/symptoms or lung pathology which makes traveling in smokey conditions challenging), our refund structure will be as listed in the cancellation policy at the time of booking.
