- "This property was just as quiet and close to nature as we had hoped. Even with a music festival running for three days 2 km up the road, we heard nothing, the tiny house being in a deep dip. We had a beautiful deer and small black bear visit over the course of our stay. There is a viewing platform level with the tops of the fir trees up the steep hillside. We enjoyed a couple of the books provided by Phil in the cabin. As the amenities are intended to be basic, we would recommend taking any camping comforts you enjoy. We were glad we had the screen tent, for example, so we could comfortably sit outside at any time, and a collapsible sink for personal hygiene. There is no bathroom in the house, but you can ask Phil for a hot shower somewhere nearer to his house. We didn't. We used our collapsible sink, wet wipes, and the showers at the hot springs in Ainsworth. The kitchen outdoors is a double ring run off propane, and there is a propane barbecue. About propane, you can operate a propane fire pit, even during a fire ban, if you take one along with you to enjoy after dark. One last thing. There is no cell reception at the property, ever. But you can choose to go into Salmo (about twenty minutes away), or some other town, to use your data to connect with others and the internet. Or you can take the opportunity to enjoy a total break from these things. We badly needed to relax and pretty much do nothing but be, so this little break was perfect for us."

- "We really enjoyed the property. There are short hikes around the property, that you can link up to longer hikes if you choose. About 20 minutes from Nelson. There are a few cabins on the property, but very private and not all too close to each other. It was very quiet and easy to get to more urban areas if you choose. We stayed here with two adults and our 5 year old and all had a great time. We will definitely come back and highly recommend. It's not for everyone, but if you like being a bit disconnected and enjoy being away from the crowds this place is great. Wifi works well but no TV which is what we wanted."

Sleeping Arrangements: Our spacious house offers a cozy night's sleep for four guests. You'll find the primary room you can sink into the plush queen-sized bed, adorned with fresh linens, and drift off to dreamland after a day of outdoor exploration. The second bedroom has two twin beds with cozy mattresses and new linens. Both rooms have separate heat controls for your desired comfort.

Guests have access to the whole house, parking, and yard. With the exception of a locked door to the crawl space where we keep all our extra items for turnovers and an inaccessible attic door.

Residential neighborhood

Erie Creek house is just off BC 3/ Crowsnest Highway and 1 street over from Erie Creek. It is a nice casual, flat 15-minute walk into downtown Salmo using 9th Street that goes under the highway.

Outdoor Adventure Awaits: Nature enthusiasts will be in their element here. Step outside, and you'll find yourself in a world of outdoor possibilities. Summer has hiking, biking, golfing, fishing, and wildlife watching it is all just a stone's throw away. Winter boasts a local ski hill and a 30/40 minute drive to 2 world-class resorts Red Mountain and Whitewater, Nordic skiing is almost right out the back door on the local Great Trail Network or a multitude of cross-country ski clubs to choose from, go snowmobiling in the Selkirk Mountains as it transforms into beautiful sledding terrain. We're located near some of the region's most scenic trails and parks, making it easy to explore the great outdoors.

Elise Cabin lies right next to and is named after our own pristine Elise creek. All cabins feature a rich variety of decorations from the owners' private collection of world artifacts. Elise cabin's interior finishing & decoration is themed: "Vintage Canadian". We keep Elise Cabin pet-free for guests with possible allergies (all our other cabins do welcome pets). Kindly note that there is no direct vehicle access to the cabin - we will always be there to assist you with your luggage to your cabin when you check-in and check-out. The walking distance from the cabin to the common parking area is app. 150 meters.Centrally located in the BC Kootenays and only 20 km from Nelson, our boutique mountain lodge offers four very private and luxury cabins set on 42 acres of private forest land to enjoy all mother nature has to offer - and do so in great comfort.

Each cabin comes with its own unique lay-out, design and furnishings, blending the truly rustic - think: large timbers, hardwood flooring, antiques, a woodstove - with the truly luxurious.

Your cabin comes with a fully equipped kitchen to prepare your own meals. In addition we offer catering services incl. breakfast, lunch and dinner, all delivered straight to your cabin. Please notify us for our menu and availability. The lodge also offers in-cabin massage services as well. The in-cabin massage services can be requested directly through us.

We maintain a few snowshoe trails on our property and adjacent crown land, all directly accessible from your cabin. Snowshoes are available for daily rental.

30 mins to Whitewater Ski Resort, 45 mins to Red Mountain or explore incredible backcountry terrain on the Kootenay Pass. This home is your perfect home base for your outdoor adventure vacation. This spacious home has 3 comfortable bedrooms. The living boasts an enormous, comfy sectional, and ten foot window. Enjoy your evening in the kitchen, with large island and bar seating. Take a soak in the deep tub after a day on the slopes or walk 5 min to explore alongside the river.
The space
Enjoy the 2 acres of forest this property has to offer. Walk the 0.4 km forest path, gather around the fire pit or hang out in our seasonal hammock grove with outdoor eating area. Walk 3 mins to walk along the river bank, enjoy the views and keep your eye out for wildlife. We have spotted deer, wild turkeys and even a mama moose and her calf!

This home has large windows with forest views on every side. The living room boasts an enormous sectional couch and projector set up with various streaming services. The kitchen and dining room are set up for socializing. The kitchen is stocked with all the essentials and kitchen island with comfortable bar seating. Enjoy dinner or a board game at the dining room table.

Each bedroom is unique and designed using natural elements from around the property. The master bedroom (Cedar Room) has a comfortable king bed and unique live edge night tables. The Larch Room has rustic charm with a queen bed and photo-worthy headboard made from trees on our property. The Hemlock Room is cozy and comfortable with a double bed. Each room has closet space, hangers and separate thermostat.
Guest access
Guests are welcome to explore the property. Enjoy the walking paths, hammock grove and forest fire pit! Your hosts are on the property and here to answer any questions or provide information on local adventures. We ask that guests stay out of the outbuildings - but feel free to pop by the chicken coop to say hello to Jeff, Margaret and the Ethels.
