- "Kelly was a great host. Very cute lodge style inn on the bay on the main strip of town. Beautifully decorated with lots of antiques and cool stuff throughout the house. Continental breakfast is left out for you on main floor in the kitchen. Bagels, muffins , pastries etc. there is a fridge on each floor that’s kinda family style. Take what you want, leave what you have extra of. One of the strange things was our private bath was across the hall of the game room/ lounge are so we had to be careful when streaking but it worked out fine. There are only about a half dozen rooms and people go out exploring most of the day so you pretty much have the whole place to yourself. Look forward to staying there again soon. Thanks again. "

Guest Reviews:

- "GREAT lake view from the porch! Well furnished. Convenient. Gracious host." - "A friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our week in this Flathead Lake vrbo. We loved the rustic vibe and the basement apartment was exactly as described. The beds were super comfortable and the heater in the bathroom was a plus as mornings were quite cool. The kitchen was small but had everything we needed and the full sized refrigerator had more than enough room to hold a week's worth of provisions. Rockers and Adirondack chairs on the porch were perfect for sitting and watching glorious sunsets over the lake and there were two glider chairs the hosts graciously encouraged us to use for sunset viewing from a different angle. The large propane grill came in handy several times when we decided to eat in instead of going to town. Host Peggy was a joy to visit with and loaned us bear spray to carry for when we went hiking. She possesses a wealth of knowledge about the various places in Bigfork to shop and eat. In addition, she tends the landscaping and flowers around the property, which are beautiful and attract hummingbirds and butterflies. The week passed too quickly but was restful in this serene setting. We'd love to spend more time here."

Guest Reviews:

- "Enjoyed my stay." - "The property owners have made their cabin an incredibly comfortable and enjoyable place to stay. One bed on main, and two in the loft. A nimble adult could definitely occupy a bed in the loft, too. Fully stocked with anything you might need, including games, utensils, coffee maker, BBQ, fire pit and firewood, and a crystal-clear stream just a few feet from the covered porch. We spent six days, making trips to Glacier NP (1.5 hrs), Whitefish (1.25), Polebridge (drove ATVs from Whitefish and back, four+ hrs), Hungry Horse Reservoir (1.25) and Kalispell (one hour). But, we also explored closer to the cabin, and fished the local rivers, found a stunning lake (Van Lake), and discovered (sadly) that several locally advertised lakes were walk in only, and we were not prepared to hike. (I bet they were beautiful). Our evenings were spent on the porch or by the creek making s'mores. So quiet, private and serene, that time just slipped away. We didn't get to bed until midnight every night. Would highly recommend!"

Guest Reviews:

- "This place was in the perfect location and had the perfect amount of space for a big group of friends. The pictures online don’t do this place justice. The space is perfect, the kitchen is fully stocked, the views are breathtaking. The owners were also amazing and very easy to contact and help us with anything we need." - "We were met by the owners and given a tour. The pictures aren't enough to experience the amazing qualities of this property. We were met with more linens and supplies than we could ever need, and were even loaned a closet full of warm clothing (for layers, although we didn't need them.) Our stay was relaxing and wonderful. If you're thinking about staying at this property, stop thinking about it and do it. You'll be glad you did."

- "Such a cute place!!! We really enjoyed our stay. Our dome was a perfect little place for us. We could adventure and go back to a space that was so peaceful. Our AC was being a bit tricky for us and the response was quick and management was easy to talk too. The listing is pretty accurate, although the domes and cabin were a little closer together then I thought they would be. That didn’t cause us to hear any of the other guests. We had a wonderful stay! Thank you for hosting us."

Guest Reviews:

- "My family loved staying at this cabin while on vacation. The hosts were so welcoming and accommodating to our needs. Stepping into the door felt like walking into your relatives house with the atmosphere feeling warm, welcoming, and slower paced compared to the business of the normal day to day. The house was clean and had everything one would need on vacation away from home. In the evenings we'd go on short walks and watch the ground squires play around us. Even though you were a short ways from the main road, the surrounding trees made it quiet so you didn't hear it. It was a little ways away from the activities we visited, but the drive was beautiful driving by the lake, trees, and breathtaking beauty around us. We'd love to stay here again if we are in the area again."

Guest Reviews:

- "The three of us loved our 2-night stay at this charming cabin in the woods. Initial concerns about remoteness and lack of reviews dissipated immediately upon arrival. The newly built cabin is in a forest clearing opposite two geodesic glamping domes, a companionable arrangement that maintains individual privacy. Rustic yet stylish, with solid log walls and high ceilings, the cabin’s interiors are spacious, clean and thoughtfully furnished. The porch door opens into a contemporary and well-equipped kitchen with broad steps up to the main living area - a studio arrangement with a dining table and wood stove on one side, comfortable queen bed and sofa on the other. A spiral steel staircase in the center of the room leads to the lovely loft with its two single beds - perfect for kids (or in our case, a nimble adult). We enjoyed breakfast and nightcaps outside on the roomy porch, spellbound by the rustle of wind in the towering pines and by the evening glow of the solar “owl” lantern. FYI: Google Maps got us there without a hitch; Apple Maps got us close but not close enough. There are also subtle Red Owl Retreat signs along the gravel road after the turn. Bright overhead lights would benefit from dimmers to soften their glare and we had to wear sleep masks to mitigate early morning light (there are curtains on some but not all the windows). The bathroom (accessed from the far end of the kitchen) sports a powerful rain showerhead but lacks towel hooks and a window blind."

Guest Reviews:

- "The cabin was excellent as were the hosts. The location and property was what I hoped for in order to escape my high stress life style. Especially when you combine a great home cooked meal followed by relaxing in the hot tube durning a snow shower. The area and local people where very nice and a shout out to papa’s and the people."

The Lodge has separate men's and women's bathrooms/showers, a rec room with ping pong, air hockey and a great room upstairs with a piano. Two docks extend into the lake for swimming and watercraft. The space
The Darren E Fenner Loon Lake 4-H Camp was founded in 1979 and consists of 13 unique cabins and a Lodge. All proceeds from cabin rentals are reinvested to benefit the Flathead 4-H Foundation and are used to provide scholarships for 4-H kids to attend camp as well as to improve and maintain the property for future 4-H camps. The entire Flathead 4-H community offers you our deepest gratitude for supporting our youth by choosing to stay with us at Loon Lake!

Cabins are approximately 200 sq ft and each have four sets of wooden platform bunk beds with camp style mattresses. Guests are expected to bring their own bedding. The land is raw (undeveloped). You are paying for a cozy, safe place to rest, relax, a porta-John (no shower) and PRIVATE LAKE ACCESS. :) If you need air conditioner or real bathrooms, please consider staying in one of Flathead Lake Resort's cabins (across the street) that has these amenities.

Flathead Lake access is very hard to find, unless visiting a state park. Please take this into consideration when booking with us as we are thrilled to offer our shared private beach with our guests!

We LOVE our neighborhood!! We are located in a quaint and quirky community that dates back to the 1940s. We love our neighbors and we love the vibe of our 70 year old neighborhood. We're not fancy, but we're fun! You will see vintage cars, boats and tractors along the gravel road and that's what makes Woods Bay so cool in our book - it's a little slice of authentic Montana at its finest. Neighborhood animals may be out. The area is very safe.

We are located just off Highway 35, which runs along the BEAUTIFUL, scenic drive on the east shore of Flathead Lake. There will be road noise during the day, but that's the best time of day to hike and swim, so you may not notice the noise anyways. :) Please be aware of this.

#13 Cabins for a Cause on Tranquil Loon Lake
Cabin
Hungry Horse Reservoir

Best lakeside "glamping" in NW Montana! Our rustic cabins offer a place to relax and enjoy Loon Lake and our 14 acre campground. It is the perfect basecamp for experiencing all the adventures the Flathead Valley offers. Cabins have bunks with mattresses for up to 8. The Lodge has separate men's and women's bathrooms/showers, a rec room with ping pong, air hockey and a great room upstairs with a piano. Two docks extend into the lake for swimming and watercraft. All profits support Flathead 4-H.

Cabins do not have air conditioning or heating but do have a box fan and a small plug-in heater. Keyless coded access allows for secure storage of your personal items in the cabin. The lodge, grounds and other amenities are shared with other campers.

The upstairs of the lodge has a wrap around balcony, a great room with tables and benches that can be set up as needed or the room can be cleared for other activities such as dancing or yoga. Downstairs you will find couches, ping pong, pool table, air hockey, foosball tables, a small game closet and the shared bathrooms. Separate men's and women's bathrooms each have four shower stalls, one of which allows for handicapped access. We do not have a guest Wi-Fi, but cell service is decent and most guests have success using their phone as a hotspot.

Wildlife are abundant and we recommend all our guests to be "bear aware" which includes being extremely diligent about food/litter/trash security and removal. Guests may feel more comfortable carrying bear spray or an air horn, especially after dark.

Guest access
Guests are welcome to use the refrigerator/freezer and microwave in the bottom level of the lodge. Gas grills are available and propane is provided. Outside on the backside of the lodge there is a small closet with outdoor game equipment such as frisbees, croquet, and various sports balls. There are two tetherball sites, two horseshoe pits, a gaga ball pit, and a small basketball "court". Our large fire pit and charcoal grills are available for use, unless county fire restrictions are in place (typically Mid-July through Mid-September). We do not have a guest Wi-Fi, but cell service is decent and most guests have success using their phone as a hotspot.

Other things to note
Loon Lake is a prized local fishing destination. There is an abundance of wildlife such as beaver, bald eagles, osprey and of course the Loons! The lake is stocked with rainbow trout at the start of each season. (Guests are required to follow all state licensing regulations)

There are two docks on the property to access Loon Lake. There is no lifeguard on duty and all water activities are at your own risk. Children under 18 shall not enter the water without adult supervision. Life jackets are available upon request.

One dock is designated for swimming and the other is for watercraft access. Guests are welcome to bring their own small boats, canoes, kayaks, inflatables etc or may choose to rent from local outfitters. Smaller craft can be carried to our dock on the far side of the campground. Guests with larger craft may choose to utilize the public lake access and boat launch at the entrance to the campground (conservation permit required). Gas powered craft are not allowed on the lake.

This is a shared/group campground experience. The camp reserves the right to rent unoccupied cabins to other individuals or groups and/or hold events on the camp property at any time. Exclusive of the specifically rented cabin in this listing, all camp amenities are communal and will be shared by those in residence at camp.
