I rented a car, and I mean, if you're visiting the Bay Area you should rent a car. The main issue I had was that the shower drain was clogged. Other than that, it's a studio and felt like a studio. It was also a bit annoying that there was a sign that you could only use 1 of each of the following at a time: the coffee machine, the microwave, and one other appliance. If used more than 1, it could trip up the electricity, which was weird. That needs to be fixed. The last thing was that the floor wasn't super clean, but I have really high standards and vacuum my own place multiple times per week. "

Nice cozy Home 🏡 Clean and quiet neighborhood, near by Thornton State Beach plus an official trail distance from Avalon Drive(Canyon) down to the beach, an estimate is that the walk down the twisting path is a little less than half a mile plus a bit of walking on the beach and the round trip is one mile, but a steep one mile, and five minutes' walk to the Palisades park. Only 1 block away to the Skyline Plaza where it has many restaurants, and stores. It's very close to Westlake , Serramonte, and Stonestown Mall. A bus station right in front of the house takes you to Daly City Bart station directly. Very convenient location to access the Skyline Blvd and 280 Free way. It is about 13 mins from this house to SFO, 18 mins to San Francisco, and 36 mins to Silicon Valley.

- "The house was quite easy to get to and we felt very safe in the neighborhood. The owner was typically quick to respond to my questions. The house was clean and suited our brief stay near San Francisco. The only downside was the pinned location on the VRBO map is not accurate. For us it showed that it was right up to the ocean." - "We did not realize when we booked this location that it is part of a famous song called "Little boxes" by Malvina Reynolds. So that was a nice surprise! Lovely neighborhood and close to the beach (which is on a cliffside. So we didn't actually make it down to the beach. Just walked along the cliffside). 15 minutes from the airport and 25 minutes to San Fran. The smoke alarm is a little sensitive. We were cooking dinner at 9 pm and the set the alarm off. The tenants next door were none too happy. Oops! Dinner wasn't burned, but we were cooking sausages and it got a little smoky. So I might suggest cooking spaghetti or keep the door open while cooking! We were scared to set it off again so we just ended up ordering pizza."

THE SPACE:
This home is exquisitely designed with gleaming hardwood floors throughout, granite and split level home with 2 bedrooms bath and kitchen downstairs, and 3 bedrooms 2 bath and luxury kitchen upstairs. You will have private use of the entire home, garage, driveway and back yard.

The one-car garage leads to the lower level which features 2 large bedrooms, situated on opposite sides of the home for maximum privacy. This floor also has a large living area, a well appointed kitchenette and full bath with tub and shower. The living area opens into the back garden through sliding glass doors.
The garden is completely fenced and features and outdoor seating area and small grill.

The lower floor is perfect for disabled and elderly guests since there is step free access to all areas.

The upper level is flooded with light and features dramatic bay windows in both the front and back of the home. The bright spacious living area opens directly into the chef's kitchen and into a separate dining area.

A generous master bedroom features 2 hotel quality double size beds and private attached bath. The adjacent bedroom features a king sized bed and beautiful bay windows.

The smallest bedroom has 2 beds in a bunk bed setup.

We use 100% cotton sheets on all our beds and have the entire home professionally cleaned between guests.

3 Bathrooms:
All three bathrooms are full baths. There are two bathrooms upstairs. One is in the room with the two double beds. That is the largest room upstairs. The second upstairs bathroom is in the hallway accessible to everyone. The downstairs bathroom is in the hallway in between the two bedrooms.

5 Bedrooms:
UPSTAIRS LEVEL there is one bedroom which has the bay windows, a large closet, and the king size bed. Next to it is the master bedroom with two full-size beds, a closet, and the attached full bath. A little ways down the hall, closer to the main living area is a small bedroom that has a bunk bed setup, the bottom bed is a double size and the top bed is a single size.

DOWNSTAIRS LEVEL: When you enter the lower level from the garage, to the right of the entrance there is a large bedroom with a queen size bed, a small single bed, large closet, and a comfy reading chair. The window of this bedroom faces out onto the street. To the left of the entrance is an even larger bedroom which has the two double size beds and a large closet. The window of this bedroom faces the backyard and the lemon tree.

The bathroom is situated in the hallway between the two bedrooms, and the downstairs living and kitchenette lead out to the private backyard and BBQ area.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
For your convenience, we provide towels and extra blankets. We provide enough toilet paper and amenities for the first couple of days of your stay.

The house has a no shoe policy. We wash the floors before each guest so you can expect a very clean home.

Please be very clear about the total number of guests when booking this home. Anybody that will be entering our home is considered a guest, regardless if they stay overnight.

KEEP IN MIND WE ONLY PROVIDE PARKING FOR 2 VEHICLES, THE GARAGE PARKING SPOT AND THE DRIVEWAY. IT CAN BE QUITE DIFICULT TO FIND PARKING IN THIS SMALL FAMILY ORIENTED NEIGHBORHOOD. WE LOVE OUR NEIGHBORS SO PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL AND DO NOT BLOCK THEIR DRIVEWAYS OR THE SIDEWALKS.

Leave beds messy so we can see which ones were used.
Put rinsed dishes in dishwasher with one pod of dishwashing detergent and start. Cleaning person will put dishes away.
Wipe any grease left in the stove area.
Please throw away ALL food items even those items left in the refrigerator.
Place used towels in the washer with 1 pod of laundry soap and start the washer. Only fill washer up 2/3rds. Cleaning person will dry and put towels away. Additional towels can be left in the shower.
Turn off furnace, all lights, and appliances.
Close all windows, and lock doors.
Take any large items such as suitcases with you. There will be additional charges for excessive trash disposal.
Please check carefully for your personal belongings. We charge $50 handling plus shipping to mail or return any forgotten items & we do not mail internationally.

We are centrally situated in a safe, beautiful quiet residential neighborhood yet with close access to wonderful neighborhoods and anything else you could want in SF.
Street Parking is free. Please don't block anyone's driveway.
Westlake Village is an ethnically diverse neighborhood with a broad mix of young families and working professionals. We are within a 5-minute walk of shopping, restaurants, coffee shops, and a library (and horse rides on the beach...). The 120 and 122 SamTrans bus lines provide good transit connectivity with the rest of the Bay Area -- bus stops are just minutes from my front door.
Westlake Shopping Center is a 5 minute walk from the house where you can find restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacy, and other shops.
Stonestown Galleria is a 5 min drive/15 min walk from the house, and home to the following retailers/services:

From the SFO Airport, you have a few options if you will not have a car.

Option#3, if you will not have too much luggage then take the BART North to Daly City Station($8 per person), then transfer to #110 SamTrans bus ($2 per person) and tell driver you want to get off at John Daly Blvd & Eastgate Dr. The house its 2 minute walk from the bus stop.
To Downtown San Francisco.
The 120, 110, and 122 SamTrans bus lines provide good transit connectivity with the rest of the Bay Area -- bus stops are just minutes from my front door. The Daly City BART Station is a 20 minute walk from the studio. Or you can take the 120 SamTrans to the BART station (5 minutes).From The Daly City BART to downtown is a 15 minutes ride.
***We have SamTram and BART schedules inside the Studio. We also provide 2 Clipper Cards for use during your stay. You can use charge money into the cards at a discounted fare for use on all public transportation in the Bay Area***
OTHER INFORMATION:
1) The house is for a Maximum of 2 guests. If you bring an extra guest without prior approval from Host there will be a $500 penalty and a $50/night/person charge. No parties allowed.
2)do not move/disturb furniture or cameras outside the house. Front door, garage and backyard cameras are on 24 hour for your security.
3) Please no shoes inside the house.
4) the door next to kitchenetteleads to the shared laundry area. The laundry area is shared with guests staying in main house. Washer and Dryer access available for guests staying more than 1 week.

MONTHLY RENTERS:

- "This is a very comfortable, clean and cozy stay for a single or couple. Apartment is connected to owners house but totally private with deck, kitchen and shower/bath. Fridge was full of water and fruit upon arrival which was really nice after a long trip! Linens, towels, rooms very clean and every comfort of home available. (Including space heaters for chilly nights!). Parking is free, (read street cleaning signs and curb your tires on hills or $28 fine!), and restaurants, shops, grocery, beach all walking distance. Zoo is 3 minute drive. Owner offered use of transit cards but we drove into San Fran and found parking no problem. (Late July) Quick access to SF airport and coastline too."

Guests will not have access to the main house. The washer and dryer are shared on-premises with detergent and are only available for stays longer than a week. $5.00 per load.

OUR NEIGHBORHOOD:
Daly City is centrally situated close to San Francisco International Airport (SFO and downtown San Francisco), and has easy accessibility to the Bay Area's rapid transit network and highway system. An ideal location for an overnight rest during a longer California vacation or business trip. It's a 10-15 minute drive from my home to the airport. We are centrally situated in a safe, beautiful quiet residential neighborhood yet with close access to wonderful neighborhoods and anything else you could want in SF. Street Parking is free. Please don't block anyone's driveway.
Westlake Village is an ethnically diverse neighborhood with a broad mix of young families and working professionals. We are within a 5-minute walk of shopping, restaurants, coffee shops, and a library (and horse rides on the beach...). The 120 and 122 SamTrans bus lines provide good transit connectivity with the rest of the Bay Area -- bus stops are just minutes from my front door. Westlake Shopping Center is a 5 minute walk from the house where you can find restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacy, and other shops. Stonestown Galleria is a 5 min drive/15 min walk from the house, and home to the following retailers/services: * Trader Joe's * Macy's * Nordstrom * Chase * Bank of America * Sports Authority * Sephora * Apple
DIRECTIONS:

From the SFO Airport, you have a few options if you will not have a car.
Option#1, Best is to use UBER or LYFT (Approx. $20-$25) directly to the house. It will take approx. 15 minutes with no traffic.
Option#2 take a taxi (Approx. $35+Tips) directly to the house.
Option#3, if you will not have too much luggage then take the BART North to Daly City Station($8 per person), then transfer to #110 SamTrans bus ($2 per person) and tell driver you want to get off at John Daly Blvd & Eastgate Dr. The house its 2 minute walk from the bus stop.
To Downtown San Francisco.
The 120, 110, and 122 SamTrans bus lines provide good transit connectivity with the rest of the Bay Area -- bus stops are just minutes from my front door. The Daly City BART Station is a 20 minute walk from the studio. Or you can take the 120 SamTrans to the BART station (5 minutes). From The Daly City BART to downtown is a 15 minutes ride.
***We have SamTram and BART schedules inside the House. We also provide 2 Clipper Cards for use during your stay. You can use charge money into the cards at a discounted fare for use on all public transportation in the Bay Area***

OTHER INFORMATION:
1) The house is for a Maximum of 4 guests. If you bring an extra guest without prior approval from Host there will be a $500 penalty and a $50/night/person charge. No parties allowed.
2) The locked 3rd bedroom is my private/personal space. I will not be using it while you are there. Please do not enter the space.
3) do not move/disturb furniture or cameras outside the house. Front door, garage and backyard cameras are on 24 hour for your security.
4)Please no shoes inside the house.
5) the backdoor in the kitchen leads to the shared laundry area. The laundry area is shared with guests staying in suite in the back of the house.
6) There is a 1 bedroom guest suite in back of house (completely independent from main house with their own separate entrance which is rented and you may see the guests during your stay walking in and out from backyard.
MONTHLY RENTERS:
Ask host about availability of monthly rentals and pricing. If available, for more than a month an additional 1 month security deposit is required prior to arrival/checkin.

- "just a bit noise on second floor.." - "We stayed in first level and there was noise coming from second level all throughout the day. Sounded like little a child was running & jumping around. At late night it was quiet. Wish host had a number to be reached since there was a confusion on first set of access instructions. It took us a bit to get in since we were waiting on host to answer us. Oven had food crumbs and had to rewash skillet & pots before using them since they had some food residue. Other than that, rest of home was pretty clean."

- "The pictures look great but the apartment has dirty walls, greasy cabinets, somebody’s old discarded kitchen supplies, a pealing bathtub, dirty baseboards, stains on the furniture, and a fireplace mantle that is pulling away from the wall. I arrived to a greasy pan on the stove, a cockroach in the elevator, and an entry hallway that looked like it was out of a horror movie. I’ve rented lots of homes before but never anything like this. And the contact person was absolutely no help. Now I have to fight to get my money back from a rental company that says they will “make it right” at their discretion. Wish me luck,"

Though it does not have a kitchen, this cozy space has all the essentials for a comfortable stay, including fast WiFi, a refrigerator, microwave air fryer combo oven, TV, electric kettle and pot, washing machine, dryer, and heating. With a private marble bathroom, recessed lighting, Brazilian hardwood floor, memory foam queen bed and workstation, guests can relax and enjoy their time here. It's easy to see why you can unwind at our place. You are surrounded nature and you can hear the birds singing and see them swooping and soaring in the garden. It is a peaceful quiet retreat that will refresh your soul.

A PRIVATE ROOM and SHARE BATHROOM. unfortunately that we can’t put too many wardrobe or hungers or any extra stuff in the room to make it like hotel, since there are limited space with 2 queen beds already ! Those are for people who want to save money for their trip only, please don’t expect to be a luxury hotel with a housekeeper for you! It’s a family share space bathroom and kitchen, so none can keep it stainless any minute especially in the morning with busy cleaning time. We are not supposed to waste our energy and utilities to give you free wash machines and wait for your complain about our messy garage with wash machines! Please don’t bother yourself with our laundry mat if you like to complain after took advantage of us! Please avoid for parking infront of any neighbors house, since it’s free for parking in this area, please don’t parking infront any neighbors near by, to be respectful please parking on the corner of Alder Ave or on Edgeworth Dr. Besides: We provided wash machine for nice and kind guests’ convenience without charge. However, just let you know that we have a cat in the garage temporarily for couple weeks where the wash machines located, if you allergic to cats please feel free to stay away from our laundrymat, and go wash your stuff outside laundry mats near by ! Please be advised the room is priced for one guest only .
The charge for an additional guest is $30
Undeclared guests will result in a $40 penalty!
