- "Great spot, good friendly service and ideal location for a short stay." - "It is a lovely B&B. A little remote but beautiful views all around. Stayed two nights in the Boots room. Nice big room with large double bed, little sofa, couple of chairs and a gorgeous deep window sill, perfect for the morning cuppa and views across the fields. Bathroom was a good size as was the shower. Nothing worse than a tiny shower cubicle and this was a nice big space. They are horses and alpacas at the property. The roads to and from are a single track and rather rural. Take is easy and hope you don't meet anything other than a dog walker coming the other way. Breakfast was delicious. Fruit, yoghurt, cereal and a menu of cooked options. Plentiful tea, coffee and toast. Highly recommend a stay here, I definitely go back."

Our room was very nice and comfortable and the four poster bed was lovely as well. The food at the hotel is very nice and very well priced and the real ales are superb. Although they don’t do breakfast there are plenty of places to get breakfast, we used Ye Old Nags Head and for £10.95 it was value for money. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at The Peak Hotel and will be staying there again. If you haven’t visited Castleton I would highly recommend it it is a beautiful Village ideally placed, and also parking at The Peak Hotel is free which is an added bonus. "

The Barn is a short walk from The Cheshire Cheese Inn just along Edale Road. It has a regular folk music night on the first Thursday of the month which is a real local institution and great fun.

The Oaks is a three bedroom barn sleeping up to 5 people. It features a bedroom with a king sized bed and ensuite bathroom with bath/shower, a twin bedroom with ensuite shower, and a single bedroom on the ground floor also with an ensuite shower.

Riding House Farm is a working farm of 140 acres. If you bring your wellies you will be able to see the new-born lambs in spring, visit the calf house and even feed the hens! There is an abundance of wildlife around especially in our own secluded Bluebell wood.

Check out time is 9am so if we were to return, I think it would have to be for a minimum of two nights as 9am is pretty early so we didn’t even have time for breakfast before we had to clean up and check out. Considering the price and the small space, I think a complimentary addition of bits in the fridge would be good. Lots of places I’ve visited for the same price (and less!) on Vrbo have added in fresh bread, butter, orange juice and even Prosecco and muesli/croissants for breakfast.
