- "We stayed for two nights and really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and very helpful. Our room was very nice and comfortable and the four poster bed was lovely as well. The food at the hotel is very nice and very well priced and the real ales are superb. Although they don’t do breakfast there are plenty of places to get breakfast, we used Ye Old Nags Head and for £10.95 it was value for money. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at The Peak Hotel and will be staying there again. If you haven’t visited Castleton I would highly recommend it it is a beautiful Village ideally placed, and also parking at The Peak Hotel is free which is an added bonus. "

I would highly recommended " - "Location was excellent for walks, Castleton centre, pubs & restaurants. The cottage is very small but fine for two people & a dog. The log burner is great but no wood or matches are provided. The little kitchen area has everything you need although there isn’t any space for prepping food. The stairs are very steep. The bed is extremely comfortable & we slept really well. Both the bedroom & bathroom are great, although there is a step up to the shower which is quite precarious. The cottage was extremely clean. There is an area to sit outside but it is on the general thoroughfare so not private. You can park outside for unloading & then get a free parking pass for the car park, which isn’t far away Overall we had a great stay but we felt it needed a few little extras to give it full marks"

It was perfect for our needs. Great location with lovely views over the Hope Valley. The weather was cold but the heating in the cottage was fine and the log burner very cosy. On road parking wasn't a problem and there was very little noise from the road. Beds were comfortable and plenty of room for the four of us. Plenty of places to eat and drink a short walk away. Local shop was very accommodating and had all we needed for the short stay. Did make much use of the outside spaces due to the weather but there would have been lovely in the summer. The village is popular for its show caves, history, shops, Christmas lights, garland ceremony, Winnats Pass, Cave Dale and for those wishing to walk on the numerous footpaths in the area .
- "Super cottage in a delightful location. Parking a plus." - "Overall the property was as expected. However, I learnt 4 days before my stay that the Aga cooker was not working so a table top oven with 2 burners was used as a replacement. Fortunately I had booked Christmas lunch at a nearby hotel as it would not of been possible to cook a Christmas meal on the limited appliance. My husband and I are both over 65 and we found the stairs extremely steep to climb up and down. We also had a couple of issues with the heating but Helen came round within 10 minutes to sort it out. Perfect location for the village and the wonderful walks!"

- "Small but very nicely kitted out. Excellent location close to pubs and shops but also trails. Owner very welcoming and helpful. VRBO app would not download to my phone." - "PRO'sGreat bed, off road parking spot (if car not too long otherwise on street parking available). Good kitchen area with plenty of utensils. Quiet location.CON's2 big TV's but neither are connected to an aerial so there's no live TV. Smart tv's so you can use the apps (if you have your own account) but WiFi isn't great so disconnected quite a lot, therefore no reliable TV viewing. The bit that let it down the most was the large black mould on the wall by the top left of the bed area. Not great at all especially if you have health/respiratory issues as your face is literally inches from the mould. Hopefully the owner will fix this quickly as the cold weather is only going to make it worse!"

- "The house is adorable and the location could not be better. You can walk anywhere you want to go and the Visitor Centre and a nice cafe are literally on the doorstep. We had some confusion about the parking but the owner explained there is no longer a pass provided, which needs to be updated in the description on VRBO. The back patio is sunny and beautiful. We had a lovely time and would come back or recommend it to friends without hesitation."

- "The Property is in a great location and an ideal base for hiking in this part of the Peak District and enjoying the hospitality of Castleton. Ben was available by email if we had any queries. Self check-in instructions were crystal clear. Circumstances meant that we checked in in the dark (and the pouring rain) which was no fault of anyone but ourselves, but did make the short trek up from the car park and locating the exact property a little more problematic than might have been the case - you can't park at the property itself. Loved the set up of the house - perfect for our needs. Very cosy living room area (especially when the wood-burning stove is lit) and access to Netflix on the TV allowed for some family binge watching in the dark November evenings. If it's important for you, the WiFi is excellent (which compensates for the weak mobile/cell signal in the vicinity)."
