The ‘Nook’ is a newly renovated cottage boasting traditional features with contemporary style décor, creating a real homely feel throughout and is located in the heart of Tideswell.

This cosy stone built mid terrace cottage is ideal for families (and your dog) which sleeps up to 6 people over 3 floors, with 2 double bedrooms (1 king size) and a bunk bedroom that sleeps 2, which are all serviced by a new bathroom housing a bath with a shower, sink and WC. All bedrooms have Tv's including the bunk room which is HD ready, so you can bring your Play Station / XBox or use the in-built DVD player (there are over 80 DVD’s to choose from).

Downstairs there’s a fully fitted kitchen including a microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, electric oven and hob, washing machine and dining table and chairs to seat 6.

The lounge is very cosy with its log burner, 2 sofas, smart digital TV, DVD player, free unlimited BT Wi-Fi, free Amazon music through "Alexa" and a selection of books, DVD's and board games making it ideal to relax in after a day spent in the Peak District.

The Horse & Jockey pub is approximately 150 steps away from our back door. The bus stop is very close to us going into Buxton/Bakewell/Castleton/ Sheffield. Cherry Tree Cafe is literally a stones throw away from us and in the village we have a CO-OP, local bakery & Post Office. We have four tea rooms all serving great food & a posh restaurant for that special occasion. Not forgetting two fish & chip shops our favourite being Mr Elliotts & all 4 pubs are within walking distance.

- "Unfortunately this property did not live up to the 10/10 Exceptional reviews. Upon arrival we were greeted by dead flowers outside and a dirty front door with a musty smelling entrance porch. Huge cobwebs in the lounge had been there months. There was mould in the corner of the dining room. The main bedroom had suffered a leak in the ceiling which had happened sometime ago and just been left. The whole property looked unloved and somewhat neglected. The only advantage of this property was that it was right in the heart of beautiful Tideswell and opposite The Star Inn which was run by Jonny and his lovely family. The steak and stilton pie was absolutely delicious. The village of Eyam is only a short drive away and a must visit if you enjoy history."

The Cottage is a beautifully renovated large home set in the heart of Tideswell, a thriving little village within the Peak District. Tideswell has a host of amenities on your doorstep, while The Cottage makes a perfect base for larger families or groups to sleep up to 8 guests across 4 bedrooms on 2 floors.

Upon entering The Cottage, to the left the reception area leads itself off to the open plan kitchen and dining area, with ample seating for all should you wish to cook up a feast from the fully equipped kitchen, however a host of cuisines are not too far away should you wish to dine in or have delivered. The marble work surfaces and centre island brings this kitchen up to a modern standard, whilst the exposed brick and features of old exudes charm and character.

A large living room and snug area on the ground floor, with TV, Log Burner and ample comfortable seating for all with games, DVD’s and books to keep most entertained, makes this a cosy base for guests to make memories.

The 4 bedrooms can be found on the 2nd floor, a Queen size room that can be made as a twin upon request, a King room, double and a twin. A 2nd family bathroom with shower over bath completes the upstairs.

Upon arrival at Warrington House, you will enter a large boot room, the perfect space with hard floorings to brush yourself down or your four-legged friend after a muddy walk in the hills; this room also has a utility section offering guests the use of the washing machine and tumble dryer. Off from the boot room are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and another with twin beds, on the ground floor there is also the family bathroom with a bath and separate cubicle shower. This property has been completely renovated in the summer/autumn of 2021 and it has been done to an excellent standard with guests’ thoughts always in mind.

On the first floor is an open plan, spacious living room with ample seating and beautifully placed pops of colour in the décor. There is a rustic wooden dining table to seat eight guests. The living and dining area is also open plan to the kitchen which is equipped with fridge, small freezer, dishwasher, microwave, and coffee machine with pods provided. There is a bedroom with a king sizebed located on the first floor also.

On the second floor you enter the main bedroom, which is converted in the attic; there are some low ceilings but ample room to walk upright, this room has a king size bed and en-suite with shower cubicle. To the rear of the property is a small, decked terrace area. Take advantage of this perfectly placed house where you can amble over the road to enjoy a nice meal at the end of your fun day exploring.

The space
Peverel house sleeps 4 in two rooms, one with a Kingsized bed and the other in twin singles, both with luxury linens. If you would like the twin turned into a king for your stay please let us know when you make your booking.

Both bedrooms contain a hair dryer, hanging space and the King Bedroom also contains a 24" Smart TV.

We like to keep the bedrooms to the human variety and invite the four legged family members to sleep on the ground and first floor.

Peverel House has two bathrooms and a separate cloakroom.

Bathroom 1 on the ground floor comprises of a large tiled walk-in shower, WC and basin.

Bathroom 2 on the 2nd floor is comprised of an enclosed shower, bath, WC and basin.

The cloakroom is located on the 3rd floor opposite the 2nd bedroom and comprises of a WC and small basin.

All towels are supplied for your stay.

Peverel House has recently upgraded to a hand built Fat Radish kitchen and is complete with all crockery and utensils.

The kitchen includes; Rangemaster fan oven, 4 ring electric hob, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, bean to cup coffee machine and slim line dishwasher. The dining table comfortably seats 4.

The large corner sofa is well suited to sinking into for an after walk nap with cushions which can be moved to the perfect position to get 40 winks.

For the evenings the lounge contains a 32” smart tv for you to log into netflix, amazon prime, iPlayer and 4OD or there is a selection of DVDs. The house has super fast broadband should you wish to bring other consoles or devices.

For more competitive evenings you’ll find a selection of board games and packs of cards.

The bookshelf contains literary classics, modern novels, and children’s books for a quiet evening and walking guides for planning days out during your stay.

The lounge has a large fireplace but we have opted for an electric fire due to the environmental impact of log burners and hazards of bioethanol. Rest assured we use Octopus Energyand all the energy is renewable. Better for the planet and still keeps you cosy.

Should the sun be shining you can make use of the small courtyard with table and chairs.

The utility contains a washer dryer, coat hooks and cleaning equipment. In light of COVID-19, we have installed a hand sanitiser station for use by guests on entry to Peverel House.

The yorkshire stone floor can handle muddy boots and paws but there is an outside tap for rinsing off the worst of it.

We welcome a maximum of two friendly & sociable adults dogs (over 12 months old) but they must not be left in the house alone unless totally trustworthy and four-legged friends are not permitted in the bedrooms. There are dog bowls at the house and we offer your hound an extra keepsake dog tag for their stay. It includes the cottage address and our number should your four legged friend decide to explore the peak district solo.

On the hooks you’ll find a tote bag to keep and we urge you to use it for your visits to the local shops to save on use of plastic bags in the peaks.

Due to the property layout being over 4 floors, the property may not be suitable for guests with accessibility needs.

We have intentionally not passed on price increases in line with the cost of gas/electric to our guests to ensure Peverel House and the Peak District remains accessible to as many people as possible. In return, we would kindly ask that guests consider their energy use and take reasonable steps to minimize this i.e ensuring lights are turned off when not at the property etc. :-)

- "Peverel House has been lovingly restored to provide a beautiful, comfortable and relaxing home from home. The interior styling, colours and little touches such as the scented diffusers, sleep-enhancing pillow spray, sleep masks and tote bag made you feel very welcome and very special. Our four-legged friend was also made to feel welcome with bowls, lead and doggy blankets to use. The boot room was fab for shoes, coats and cleaning the dog and I'm a bit jealous that I haven't got one of my own! The kitchen was really well equipped and we were given some bread, butter, milk and orange juice (in a glass bottle) for our arrival. Also loved the coffee station. All bedrooms and bathrooms were really comfortable and cozy. The location has everything you need in walking distance. There is a Co-Op, bakers, Elliott's Fish & Chips, a few pubs - we visited The Merchant's Yard, Sal's Italian Restaurant, High Nelly's Cafe and there's a great second-hand bookshop. There's loads to do further afield too with some beautiful walks and we visited Chatsworth House on our way home. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will be back, hopefully for longer."

These include Litton, 5 minutes’ drive, Eyam, 10 minutes’ drive, and Castleton, Bakewell and Buxton, all 20 minutes’ drive. The magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth Estate and Haddon Hall can also be reached in around 20 minutes, Matlock and Ashbourne in about 40 minutes, and for those thrillseekers, Alton Towers in under an hour.
