- "I’m originally from the Glossop area so can confirm that Park View is in a prime location in the desirable ‘Old Glossop’ part of town, set at the foot of the Pennines. We had a wonderful stay with everything on our doorstep- the cottage is directly opposite the beautiful Manor Park, there’s a selection of charming pubs in both directions of stepping outside the door, there’s a corner convenience shop, a take away, and it’s just a 5-10 minute stroll to the town centre and a good variety of cafes, bars, more pubs and local shops. The cottage itself was immaculately clean (something I’m very particular about!), cosy, has a gorgeous fireplace and a lovely garden. Parking wasn’t a problem either and we could park directly outside the cottage. It really is a home from home and would definitely recommend. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again on a return visit. - "Would definitely recommend Coombes View Lodge. The only small thing we missed was a welcome pack with a few tea bags, coffee, milk etc that we have had in most other lodges we’ve stayed in. Otherwise excellent." - "The Lodge exceeded our expectation - we stayed in Coombes View 1 and were absolutely delighted with our accommodation. Set in picturesque countryside with breathtaking views, each lodge is situated well away from the others offering privacy and tranquility. Inside the lodge was beautiful, well equipped and immaculately clean. The hot tub was maintained daily and was up to temperature by the time we had unpacked. We had the added bonus of the company of 3 Alpacas who came to the fence at the side of our lodge daily. Another highlight was helping owner Mark herd 4 of his sheep, who had escaped their field and decided to pay us a visit. We spotted a deer from our kitchen window on our last day! This place is a hidden gem, was such a relaxing break and a complete change from the normal busy pace of every day life. If you’re looking for a ‘get away from it all’ break this is the place and we cannot recommend it highly enough. We will definitely be returning."

Town: The bustling, former mill town of Glossop sits in the north west of Derbyshire, surrounded by magnificent scenery in the Peak District. The town has plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a golf course with a pay-per-play scheme. Nearby, Manor Park was once the grounds of Glossop Hall, which belonged to the Dukes of Norfolk. Today it provides a wonderful spot for a picnic in the summer, with bowling greens, a semi-natural woodland, a children’s play area and tennis courts. The town of Glossop is also ideally situated for exploring the nearby Peak District National Park, with many attractions for walkers, cyclists and tourists. These include the peaceful village of Hayfield, less than five miles away and popular with walkers due its close proximity to Kinder Scout. A little further afield, Edale is the start of the Pennine Way and also caters well for tourists with its own collection of pubs, cafes and restaurants. As well as its magnificent scenery, the Peak District has many other attractive places to visit, including Chatsworth House, the spa town of Buxton and its majestic gardens and architecture. Visit the famous Blue John show caves at Castleton, the mining museum at Matlock and the Derwent Valley reservoirs, where The Dambusters practised low-level flying in World War II. 15 miles away, only half an hour by train, is Manchester with all its big city amenities and attractions. Here, you will find the United and City football stadiums, an abundance of high street and boutique shops, theatres, restaurants, a concert hall and a vibrant night life. With so much to see, do and visit in the surrounding area, you are sure of a fun-filled holiday!
