- "If I could give more than 5 stars I would. The house was immaculately clean (it felt new). It was so relaxing with the mountain view-exactly as pictured, and the hot-tub which only added luxury to the whole experience. We saw a mom and her newly birthed fawn hanging out in the front yard. That was awesome. Everything about this place was great. Daniel, the owner, was so gracious in promptly addressing the blind that the previous renter had messed up. He even went and got us laundry soap for the washer. One suggestion- most everything is on a remote control (I call it a smart house ) make sure you either ask Daniel how to control things-which we did. I think he's putting together instructions, so it may be a mute point. We enjoyed several sunsets from the front porch. I just cant say enough good about this place! Again, if you are wavering and like the combination of modern, clean, relaxing, and beautiful scenery -this is your place. I would definitely stay here again. Best experience ever! Whether you are into hiking, kayaking, fly-fishing, riding an ATV/side-by-side in the mountains, reading or just chillin' in the wilderness, this is the place for you. The cabin sits on a spring-fed pond loaded with trout for your viewing pleasure and next to a mountain river that runs with glacier water all year long. We are an hour west of Glacier National Park and minutes from Ten Lakes Scenic Area and Therriault Pass, where wildlife and wildflowers are bountiful. The closest town for groceries and amenities is 15 miles away. Feel like shopping and eating out? Whitefish has you covered; it' 45 miles South. This, our Friends, is a GOOD LIFE!

- "Owner was delightful to deal with." - "As soon as we opened the door, we knew we hit the jackpot when finding this place! We loved it as soon as we saw it. The whole place is clean and organized, everything we could think of was already provided to us: clean towels, soap, shampoo, dishes and cutlery, etc. We were only staying here cause we needed a place to stay during the nights, but I really wish we had the time to explore the property a bit more. I feel like I missed out a lot! We got lost the first couple of nights trying to find the place in pitch black, so if you can try checking in during the day and make note of landmarks and when to turn in. THAT SAID, I think part of the appeal is that it is so secluded from everything. Mark and Pattie were extremely friendly and welcoming and we were glad to meet them before we left for our daily adventures. We've been looking to purchase some land for the last few years and this is exactly the type of cabin I've pictured building on it, so finding this gem was an added bonus. If I were to make one small comment about it, I would say getting the hot water in the shower took a bit of figuring out, so be sure to ask Mark or Pattie if there's a trick to it if you can't get it going. Not sure if it was just us. But ultimately it was a very minor thing and had no impact on an otherwise pleasant stay. I'm definitely planning on coming back here when I come back to Eureka again. If you are going East out of Eureka from the north end of Eureka where hwy 37 junctions with hwy 93 go north towards Canada for 2.2 miles then turn right on to Burma Road. The turn off to Burma Road is right at the north end of Indian Springs Golf course. Go up Burma Road for 1.9 miles where there is a fork in the road. Stay to the left and continue up Burma Road for 2.2 miles. Turn right onto forest service road that is called Blacktail Trail. Go up a couple of switchbacks and at approximately 4/10’s of a mile you will turn right on to Gould Road. Go up Gould Road for 3/10’s of a mile to the 2nd road that turns right off of Gould Road. This is Caribou Trail, go 2/10’s of a mile to the campground. There will be a brown house on the right side built on the edge of the road continue past this to go through the gate and this is the campground.

- "We enjoyed our stay in Montana at Ray's cabin. I was a little nervous to reserve this property without a lot of reviews to go on. The cabin was very clean and everything worked well, including the air conditioner in the living room that was needed during our warm stay (temps in the 90s). Ray was extremely responsive and got back to me quickly whenever I had a question, before or during the trip. It does take a good 15 minutes on a mostly gravel road to get to and from the main road, which I'm not sure I would do again. However, if you don't mind the drive, the cabin rewards you with stunning views and a very remote feel. The neighbor was installing a well (or maybe improving it) which led to some additional traffic and noise for us, but otherwise, it would have been almost completely quiet, something you don't get here in California. I also want to note that the bed in the master bedroom is extremely firm, and I know some folks would like that, but some would not. All in all, if you are looking for a remote stay in Montana in a nice cabin, this is it!"

directions; going out of Eureka from the north end of Eureka where hwy 37 junctions with hwy 93 go north towards Canada for 2.2 miles then turn right on to Burma Road. The turn off to Burma Road is right at the north end of Indian Springs Golf course. Go up Burma Road for 1.9 miles where there is a fork in the road. Stay to the left and continue up Burma Road for 2.2 miles. Turn right onto forest service road that is called Blacktail Trail. Go up a couple of switchbacks and at approximately 4/10’s of a mile you will turn right on to Gould Road. Go up Gould Road for 3/10’s of a mile to the 2nd road that turns right off of Gould Road. This is Caribou Trail, go 2/10’s of a mile to the campground. There will be a brown house on the right side built on the edge of the road continue past this to go through the gate and this is the campground.

This cabin is an old J. Neils Lumber Company logger bunk house, which would have been used to house loggers when working in our surrounding forests. We have loving restored it, adding modern comforts, including a luxury king bed and linens - but keeping the cool vintage vibe. This is a private cabin which sleeps 2 - we can add a cot for an extra charge, or if your party is larger, we have a vintage tiny trailer, or a tent that we can park next to it for an additional fee. We're so Northwest that we're almost Canada. Eureka Montana is called "The Last Best Place" because of our unspoiled nature, abundant wildlife, solitude and brilliant night skies. You'll love watching wildlife, star gazing, and occasionally seeing the northern lights from the large deck overlooking the Tobacco River.

Our ranch comprises 450 Acres of trails, pasture, forest and river. Make yourself at home! This cabin is private, secluded and off grid. Guests have access to our community kitchen and showers/toilets. Linens and towels provided. We provide a few tubes for river use and bikes for rails to trails as well. Games, cards, books, etc also available in common areas.

Glamping = camping with the work done for you. You will experience wildlife, great vistas in a natural setting, but in the comfort of a bed with linens supplied. (And a bath towel, beach towels not supplied.)
**There is rugged terrain on the property and you will need good walking/hiking shoes.
*Bathroom and kitchen are in the Base Camp, nearby and a brand new beautiful building shared by two units.
**You can unload 100-200 feet from your cabin, but park in designated parking.

Liability Waiver:
You understand that staying on our property is at your own risk and that special risks may be involved with walking, hiking and staying in our units. You accept full responsibility for any bodily injury that may arise from walking, hiking, use of the river, and staying in our units. You understand there are potential dangers on being on this property for guests that have health issues, mobility issues or are intoxicated or using any kind of drugs or medication. You agree to be fully and solely responsible for any accidents you may incur to either yourself or other guests on the property. If you are traveling with a pet, damage caused to the property or physical damage to other guests by said pet is your responsibility. Pets must NOT chase wildlife. You understand the risks discussed above and agree that you will assume all responsibility for yourself and for the consequences of those in your party. You agree to waive any claim whatsoever against Tobacco River Ranch for accidents or claims arising from hiking, swimming, biking or staying on this property.
