Sleepy Creek is made from the logs of two authentic 1800's log cabins (from Kentucky and West Virginia) that were re-assembled and joined to make a very unique and comfortable vacation get away. This cabin is constructed of beautiful antique hand hewn poplar and oak logs, wonderful stonework, and metal roof. It is located on over 4 acres of wooded land with a beautiful stream running past the cabin through the entire acreage.

The interior features large rooms with (2) bedrooms and (2) bathrooms. The master is located on main floor (queen) and has a small private bathroom. Black walnut plank flooring, antique knotty pine paneling and soap stone block fireplace blend with newer components to set the stage for this cozy retreat. The second bedroom encompasses the entire upstairs (one double and two single beds) with vaulted ceiling and ceiling fans.

The rustic farm house style kitchen is fully equipped, but maintains it's country charm with period pieces, including an authentic turn of the century Hoosier Cabinet. There is also a separate laundry room. A 2nd bathroom is located downstairs. But the best part is the covered front porch. Relax to the view of the very noisy creek, rain on porch roof, and the many hummingbirds that frequent the cabin in the summer. Don't forget to enjoy a picnic or nap by the creek - benches, picnic table and hammock provided. A new fire pit for chilly evening outside enjoyment. In the fall come for the changing of the leaves. The towns of West Jefferson, Boone, Blowing Rock and Banner Elk are all fifteen minutes to forty minutes away, depending on your destination.
Asheville and Charlotte are 2 hours away.

- "Can’t say enough about how relaxing our 6 night stay was. From the cozy indoors with unique decor to the kitchen stocked with everything one would need to the wonderful bath items provided to the outdoor deck with amazing views, especially the beautiful sunrises and relaxing hot tub this cabin has it all. Total privacy was provided and in the evenings it was such a joy to grill dinner on the very nice grill, enjoy a glass of wine and to relax in the hot tub after steep hikes during the day. We didn’t use the fire pit however it looked like a wonderful place to sit at night and enjoy a fire. Even though I had my kindle with me for reading I chose to read two books provided in the bookshelf while there. Location is convenient to grocery and restaurants in West Jefferson and not that far from Boone. Courage Cabin gets my highest recommendation."

“Worth's Place" is located in the breathtaking Appalachian Mountains of Ashe County, North Carolina. This charming 1930's farmhouse sits in the locale of a "retired" 180+ acre dairy farm and is roughly 15-20 minutes away from Boone/Jefferson and 25 minutes from Blowing Rock. If you enjoy mountain scenery, hiking trails, or any outdoor activities, Ashe County is the place to visit!

Special Considerations: The farmhouse only has ONE bathroom and it is located INSIDE bedroom #1. We also only have ONE small television and it’s located in the living room! :)

Mostly private, country setting. This is the perfect location to catch up on some much needed R&R! Listen closely and you’ll hear the cows mooing, roosters crowing and the soothing sounds of the creek drifting by while relaxing on the hammock outdoors. You may even get serenaded with the sweet songs of the many whip-poor-wills.

During the Summer, you’ll most likely see hay cutting, raking and baling in full swing. In early Fall, you’ll be amazed by all the stunning foliage—late October is typically peak leaf season! If you prefer to visit during the Winter months, you may find yourself gazing at a blanket of freshly fallen snow. Pick your season and come enjoy all that Ashe County, NC has to offer!

The Blue Ridge Parkway is located only 5-10 minutes away from the farmhouse and offers incredible mountain views! It's also home to one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the area, Cascade Falls ("The Cascades"). This 1.2 mile long hiking trail is a must see!

Our neighboring counties, Watauga and Avery, have a few attractions worth mentioning. Tweetsie Railroad is open April-October and is a local favorite.
