- "Quiet, clean room. Helpful host. Programmed key needed re-program next morning. One electrical outlet held phone phone charger too loosely to allow charge." - "Older but well kept property. Perfect for attending wedding down the road. " - "Location" - "Checking was easy most hotels don't let you check in until after 2:00 or 3:00 in the afternoon but they let us check in before then. The manager on duty was very helpful in answering any questions I had. Overall cleanliness was decent. I had a decent amount of towels and washcloths which is something I like to have. If I had to rate My overall experience between a one and a 10 I would give it a 10."

Our family homeplace will provide you a great vacation escape. Bring your boat and dock it on the beautiful, clean Satilla River. Swim in the heated pool or fish in the pond. You can even learn pickleball or play tennis on your own private court. Home sleeps ten--so it's the perfect place for a family gathering!
Woodbine is a small Southern coastal Georgia town within an easy drive to Brunswick, GA, St. Simons Island, Jekyll Island, and Amelia Island, FL to the south. There's a cafe uptown that serves lunch on weekdays, a local hangout called Captain Stan's that has pretty good food, and a grocery store to meet your needs. The big city of Jacksonville is 45 minutes away, and the airport there is even closer. The Okefenokee Swamp provides a fascinating view of raw nature (alligators!) and is only 45 minutes away in Charlton County.
This home is ideal for those who want peace and serenity with river access.
Our outdoors campfire area will prove fun on cooler evenings. Roast weenies and marshmallows, sit around the fire, and swap stories. Create memories at Cypress Point!
- "Beautiful property. Great location. Host easy to work with. Throughly enjoyed our time here and plan to visit again. House and grounds have everything you need. Outdoor spaces perfect for dinner and sunsets" - "My kids said it was the best place we've stayed yet. They were a little bummed at first that I didn't get something closer to the beach, but once they arrived and saw all the amenities, they started singing a different tune. The bikes and nearby bike trail were huge hits, and our granddaughter loved the pool, the huge yard and the rides with aunts and uncles on the cart. We're into pickleball, so it was wonderful having a court all to ourselves. Everyone loved sitting on the dock especially at sunset. It was beautiful, and we're going to try a return trip if we can all work it out again. The hosts were great and very thoughtful. They even brought by some additional things like night lights and extra power strips so we could charge our phones. It really was one of our favorite vacations. One thing we'll do next time though is to bring food with us for a couple of days. The closest stores didn't really have what we needed. It wasn't a problem to go a little further out to Publix or Walmart later on in the week, but we were a little tired that first day. We highly recommend this place, though. The amenities were right up our alley, and the beach and other activities are well within reach."

Relax on the front porch swing. Rail fans are within easy walking distance (2 blocks) of the train watching platform, as well as the Train Museum in downtown Folkston. The Okefenokee Swamp, is a short 8 mile drive where you can enjoy scenic views and see a variety of wildlife (including alligators). An informative visitor's center will educate you and your family about the swamp and its wildlife.
- "We enjoyed our stay, so close to the Okefenokee!" - "We enjoyed our stay at this property and highly recommend it. It was the perfect set up for us to use as a home base to explore the Okefenokee Swamp (east park access). The kids also enjoyed walking over to the Folkston Railfan park and exploring the town. It was super easy to walk to restaurants and train viewing platform. It is a lovely, sleepy little town. The house was very clean and comfortable. It is old but you can tell it has been well maintained and loved over the years and has updates where needed. We loved hearing the trains go by at night but expect to get woken up by them or the noise from the road the house sits on occasionally if you are a light sleeper."

The river is calling your name! Answer the call at Skip’s River Cabin on the Upper St. Marys River between Folkston and St. George, Georgia. Sits right at the river’s edge, the cabin is the perfect home away from home for outdoor enthusiasts and adventurers.
Located just 3 miles from the East entrance to the legendary Okefenokee Swamp, this retreat serves up a bounty of fishing opportunities. Bring your small boat or just enjoy swimming, kayaking, and canoeing the beautiful St Marys River.
Important note: The St Mary’s river floods every other other year or so and when it does, the road in can be impassable. There are two options: I can make arrangements to have canoes there for you to load and paddle a short distance to the cabin or you will need to cancel as the guest and get a full refund. We know several days in advance when its going to flood and I will let you know as sops as I see I will flood. It’s actually my wife and my favorite time to go during the rare flood. It’s an island paradise and an incredible adventure. (-:

The photos of the cabin don't due it justice. For anyone looking for a quiet get away this is beyond perfect. I say everyone should stay at Skips and experience the southern hospitality unmatched anywhere else and maybe youl will be lucky enough to catch the rain from a front porch rocking chair !! - "Mark is a great host. He gave us a tour of property, and checked on us to see if we had everything we needed. This is a quiet retreat. Worked very well for my family. Loved the hiking trails. We would come back for a stay." - "The range and facilities are great. Very peaceful property. Marc was polite and professional and I look forward to staying here again in the future." - "The place is amazing!" - "Hubby and I stayed at Mark's ranch for a few days over the holidays. It was exactly what we were hoping for! So peaceful......more stars than I have seen in a long time. We has so much fun riding around exploring in our golf cart with our pup. Even though the house has 2 huge covered decks (front and back) there is still tons of natural light. Beautiful views of wilderness out every window. Just a great overall vibe. Mark did a first class job getting his gun range compound set up. Very impressive. We were hoping to see some hogs, but they were crafty and stayed out of sight; saw lots of deer though.....they were in the backyard. I think it is just a matter of time and this place will be booked up!! Mark was an awesome host, he even answered my call on Christmas day!"

Sweet like honey, Tupelo Trace is a two-bedroom, two bath with room to truly relax and get comfortable after a day of combing through the beautiful Okefenokee region on horseback or on foot. When you’re ready to turn in, the front bedroom offers two twin beds, while the back bedroom has a full bed - with extra space for a roll in bed. Tupelo Trace offers 800 feet of comfortable living and dining spaces, a ready-to-cook kitchen and a broad apron of a front porch where you can kick back with something tall and cool.
- "We are telling our friends and I already had an inquiry of the website to rent. We raved about our stay. Ms Ashley was so kind. And we ate both nights at the on-site restaurant. I gained 7 lbs that weekend. The food was Michelin star worthy." - "We stayed in Tupelo Trace cabin of Newell Lodge and Resort during our trip to paddle in Okefenokee Swamp. What a hidden gem! The house was cozy, extremely well suited for the 4 of us (my brother, my parents, and me), clean, and well appointed. We loved the atmosphere and really enjoyed the hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed talking with Ashley and her family about the history of Newell Lodge. Any time we called with a question or a request, they were very prompt in responding to our requests. While we stayed in cabin 4 (Tupelo), we noted that the ground were very nicely set up for RVs and camping and heard from multiple people that the bath house was one of the nicest they'd ever used. The amount of love and labor it must have taken to transform the 60(?) acres of local scrub into the well tended, clean, maintained oak grove camp grounds and lodges it is now is more than I can imagine. We weren't aware that there is a restaurant on-site serving dinner Friday and Saturday. I'd say it's EASILY the best restaurant in the entire town of Folkston. The seafood and steaks we had were top notch and the wine selection was surprising. Oh the steak! I wish I could grill a steak that tasty, but I can't even get close. The lodge is about 2 miles down a dirt road (of course it's dirt, because literally ALL roads off the highway in that area of the state are dirt) but the road is well maintained and easy to drive (no need for a truck to get there). If I had to recommend one thing, it'd be that they include the GPS coordinates along with the address. Would hep in locating the place (though I had no problem locating it without GPS coords). To anybody not familiar with northern FL or southern GA, you might not expect the slight sulfur smell of well water, but the water in the house was softened and all of us immediately stopped noticing the smell. Our goal was to go canoeing in Okefenokee for my parents' 80th birthdays and Newell Lodge is conveniently located equidistant to two entrances into the swamp. I think it took us about 25 mins to get to the southern entrance. We'll definitely stay at the same place the next time we come back to the area. 5 stars!"

- "My son and his two best friends are seniors in high school and all of us parents are best friends too, so we decided to enjoy some time together before they all head off to college. The property is beautifully arranged, well built, and picturesque. We loved the red brick, the oversized fire pit with generous stacks of wood ready to go, the large comfortable seating areas, and the well-stocked kitchen and various grills which made it easy to make large amounts of food for our group. The karaoke machine provided some hilarious entertainment. The driveway was perfect for playing corn hole and can jam, and we hiked down to the Satilla River several times. The first bridge was crossable, but the second bridge was under water so be sure to bring water shoes so you can make it across. We used the hot tub several times which felt great on chilly nights. Perhaps the only draw back is that the cabin containing three of the bedrooms does not have a full bathroom in it, so you have to walk across the compound to the stand alone bathroom in order to shower which wasn’t a big deal for us. It’s worth noting that there is literally nothing to do close by the property, not even a decent grocery store, so bring everything you need with you. We had one issue with the master shower and a repairman was out fixing it within 45 minutes of messaging Shelby. Great communication and responsiveness! This place is truly perfect for unwinding and spending quality time together."
