- "Church House was perfect for me and my three teen grandsons to explore Sao Miguel. There was plenty of room to spread out, inside and outside. The kitchen was well equipped, but be sure to buy ground coffee. There is no coffee grinder. The kitchen and bathrooms are modern and very clean. The beds are comfortable. The washer and dryer were great to have and laundry detergent is supplied. I did learn to empty the water reservoir in the dryer into the toilet after every load. I had never seen a dryer like that, but our host walked me through it. There are also instructions near the dryer, which I did not see—but they were in plain sight. During the day, the street is crowded with parked cars because the house is very close to the entrance of Terra Nostra. I had to park several blocks up the street many days and then move the car to the house. You will hear the church bells, but they are pretty and you get used to them. The grounds are lush and private and make a great place to eat meals or sit and read. The village of Furnas is very safe and people are friendly. I let the boys find their way to various bakeries and grocery stores on their own, which they enjoyed very much. I would gladly stay at Church House again and highly recommend it."

I helped myself to quite a few delicious fruits growing on the trees. The house was absolutely beautiful and spotlessly clean. I appreciated the thoughtful touch of a power converter and plug adapter, which is something more rentals should think to include! It really felt like our little home for our stay. The kitchen was very functional and well supplied; I could have used a pair of kitchen shears, but otherwise found everything I needed. - "Great stay. Excellent location. There is an amazing thermal pool across the street! It is easy to walk to many of the tourist sites within Furnas and to shops and restaurants. We really enjoyed staying in Furnas. As an American, the parking in the driveway is TIGHT. I had to climb over the passenger side ounce parked to exit my car when both cars were in the driveway. I recommend renting a tiny car if you will have 2 cars. But having a place to park your car is essential. The house can clearly be divided into two apartments but we rented the whole thing. There is a loft bedroom above the kitchen with 2 twin beds but no door. It was very loud when anyone walked in the loft area . We used the upstairs kitchen as it was on the same level as the bedrooms and the backyard but we needed to supplant supplies from the lower kitchen such as a frying pan with a flat bottom. Overall a great stay in a perfect location. The backyard was amazing. The kids loved the hammock and the view of the mountains was gorgeous everyday."

"The Furnas Azores House" is located in Furnas village (has aproxamilty 1400 habitants), inside a dorment volcano crater, that has hot springs, thermal baths, hiking places, botanical gardens and a lots of nature to apreciate and tanquility to relax where it is situated on the island.

1st Floor: 1 bedroom (King size bed), good sized bathroom with shower, large kitchen with big windows to a balcony where you can see a terafic view of Furnas village, pasture, hot springs and Furnas crater mountains.

Casa da Água Quente 2, located in the parish of Furnas, island of S. Miguel, is a house with a traditional façade, totally rebuilt according to a current architectural plan, where special attention was paid to social areas, in open space and to all the rules of comfort and well-being.
It has two double rooms, a single room and a baby cot (has capacity for 5 guests). The social area is in open space with kitchen, dining room and living room with Salamandra. It has 2 bathrooms equipped with shower and bath and hairdryers, a balcony on the first floor. On the ground floor there is a porch, equipped with outdoor furniture where you can dine. Within walking distance (about 500 m), there is the Terra Mostra Botanical Garden and Lagoa das Furnas (1.5 km) and close to trails, namely the Sanguinhal trail, which passes in front of the house.

The “Cozido das Caldeiras” is the most emblematic dish on the island of São Miguel and a tourist product of great value. Meats, potatoes, vegetables and raw sausages are deposited in a pan wrapped in linen bags, steamed from the interior of the holes in the soil and which gives rise to a rich and abundant broth. Or else, wrapped in cabbage leaves, which in turn are wrapped in a thick cloth deposited in the pits next to the fumaroles. Cooking takes approximately 5 to 6 hours depending on the temperature emanating from the interior of the pit.
The “Bacalhau à moda das Furnas” is also a typical dish made in this natural cuisine. Come and discover these delicious gastronomic dishes that Furnas has to offer. Originating in Furnas, the lervedos cakes are also an essential reference in local cuisine.

- "This property is EXACTLY as advertised in its photos. The view from the balcony is awesome! The parking spot in the underground garage was great (you absolutely need a car to see São Miguel!) Getting the key and the remote control to operate the door to the underground garage couldn't be easier but, I will say, the locks are 'finicky' so keep at it and they will work. The condo itself is absolutely perfect. Comfortable, secure, clean. The motorized blinds for the doors to the balcony (door from the kitchen and bedroom) ensure that the place is dark for sleeping-something that we really appreciated. The living room couch is very comfortable. The TV system is a wee bit complicated but it can be figured out. The kitchen has everything that you need. Microwave (it grills and micros!), kettle, coffee maker, utensils, cookware, stove top, oven, fridge with ice cube maker. What more can you ask for? The bedroom has ample space for your clothing and the bed and pillows are very comfortable - and we are picky when it comes to this! The bathroom is spacious, beautiful and well stocked. There are even towels that you can take with you to the thermal springs. The owners respond readily to any questions and are cordial and friendly. You cannot ask for a better place to stay while visiting São Miguel. Again, this is an absolutely amazing place to stay with plenty of restaurants and shopping within walking distance. You cannot ask for a better condo."
