- "Beautiful hotel, right at the beach of Pont do Sol, big room, comfortable king-size bed. We had a balcony with sea view. Big plus was the garage. Pont do Sol is basically a few streets behind the hotel, but real sweet. There is a sauna and inside pool at the hotel. The roof terrace was nice, but on display for the public. Breakfast was amazing, the only thing missing was tea cups, there were only coffee cups available, also for tea. We were surprised, that there was no complementary bottle of water at room at arrival, also no coffee or tea making possibilities. The street between the hotel and the beach is actually a dead end street, but cars are driving forth and back looking for a parking space, so a bit of traffic anyway. Overall we would recommend the hotel!"

- "We stayed for a week and it was perfect for us. Traditional local community that was full of character, moments from the beach. It was like stepping back in time. Friendly local bar a few houses away that served beers, coffee and pastries. Everyone seems to congregate on the sea wall at sunset every night. Terrace was wonderful with 'Jurassic' views of the banana plantations and rockface - like another world. Plus it got the sun until late afternoon. Wifi was strong enough for us to work. Beautifully decorated, we had everything we needed for a week. The only thing that would stop us staying for longer would be the lack of washing machine - but wouldn't have expected that in a small place. Having the cot up and made and the high chair out - while great if you had kids - made space so tight. We couldn't get into the bed so had to take it down immediately. It would be good if that was optional - not assumed. We would definitely have preferred the extra space for just the two of us. Likewise with the pull out bed in the second room."

My house is situated in the lovely village of Madalena do Mar, on the beachfront. We live on the property, but give you complete privacy - private room and bathroom, and fully equiped kitchen for your own use. The second bedroom (with 2 single beds) for guests in excess of two people available if needed. (At an extra cost of 12 euros per person per night - ask about the conditions in your pre booking messages.) The bedroom doors open onto a beautiful green lawn and garden, next to the room, fouled the garden sun chairs, is a hammock.
