- "We had such a wonderful time at Southwoods. The property was incredibly beautiful, the view, grounds, animals, and especially the pool were just perfect for us to have a relaxing week. The host and groundskeeper Alex were VERY attentive, and any issue we had they would respond right away. (There happened to be a LOT of rain several nights we were there and they proactively came and brought a generator just in case the power went out!) Alex even came to help the kids feed the goats and was always making sure the pool was clean. We had a wonderful time and hope to come back soon."

This lovely art-filled southern Columbia county home combines rustic charm (“log cabin”) with modern style and a spacious 2300 SF interior with a large deck and great mountain view (partially obscured by trees in summer). Located on a quiet (except for the birds, frogs and crickets) dead end road on 3.5 acres of nature, yet near Rhinebeck, Tívoli, Bard College and Hudson with so much to explore.
And it’s only 2 hours from Manhattan!
The house is on a dead end street with only two other houses, fairly spread out. It's a couple of miles east of the Hudson river.
Germantown has just a few businesses - a good restaurant and a casual outdoor dining place, a country market with regular and specialty food items and a deli, a wine/liquor store, a farm store, a flower shop and a couple of gas stations. We now have a yoga studio with Jai who taught many years at Jiva Mukti in NYC. There are also a couple of antique shops. There are more restaurant choices 10 minutes away in Tivoli.
Bard music festival and other performing arts events nearby in the summer. Apple picking in the fall. Berry picking in spring and summer. Historic Kingston. Mansion tours. Dutchess fair grounds. Hiking and biking. Many restaurants, tasting at breweries and distilleries. 40 min to Tanglewood.
This is my weekend house, but I am not always there so I am renting it out to help make ends meet. It is much nicer in terms of furnishings, decor and kitchen and bath amenities than most full-time rentals. You will find it very comfortable!
Dog friendly property - please do not rent if you are allergic. PLEASE NOTE: We have outdoor cameras for security and to monitor numbers of guests. While a few visitors is not a problem, parties and unregistered overnight guests are not allowed.
- "Julie’s home is comfortable, well stocked, and very private. The house has a large backyard that abuts a small marsh and the forest beyond. It was beautiful, even during a thunderstorm. The deck has a covered and screened dining area, which is perfect for a warm summer night. This the perfect place to stay for access to the surrounding areas, including Bard, Hudson, and Great Barrington. We made several day trips. Thanks, Julie, for being communicative and kind!"

The Farmette is a working flower farm owned by event producers and caterers. We love rustic modern spaces and enjoy decorating with unique items we find in our travels.
During your stay, guests are invited to enjoy 4 acres of the farmette and seasonally blooming flower corrals with various seasonal plantings, and exclusive use of the farmhouse, pool (End of May through End of September weather depending), and hot tub (year round - when outdoor temps are above 30 degrees). We will be on the Farmette tending to plantings and maintaining the grounds as needed - occasionally staying in the Airstream as needed (no access to house needed).
The house is 200+ years old, and full of quirks and charms. Everything has been painted a fresh white, and redecorating is under way (a life long process!)
Farmette is a wonderful place to relax with your family while being surrounded by trees and nature. Since we allow pets, if you have severe allergies to pet hair this may not be the right rental for you. Even though we clean thoroughly, there may be a remaining dog hair.
Please understand that the more guests that book in one group, the more wear and tear and upkeep there is on our home. Discounts are not available due to these factors. Early check in or late check out may not always be available due to scheduling. Thanks for your understanding and we hope you’ll book with us.
- "This house was perfect for our week vacation escape with our kids. We had friends come to visit and the pool was perfect for all to enjoy. We had everything we needed, the house was clean, huge, well decorated, and so comfortable. Leisah provided a special touch with fresh cut flowers which was so nice. Thank you for providing this space for our family to add new memories to...... this old house, amazing!" - "My sons and I had a great time. The house is really cozy and tastefully decorated. Our dog loved running around in the fields. We were there during a heat wave so the pool was a treat. Close to Rhinebeck, Hudson, Kingston and Red Hook."

"COUNTRY HOUSE IN GERMANTOWN"
Judith S. 5/5 stars
We had a wonderful month in Clermont at Lyn's beautiful home. What standouts for me now that I'm back in NYC? The property is gorgeous with exquisite farmland views on all sides. The house is well equipped for a delightful stay in a beautiful area. Another positive is how well the air conditioning works throughout all the rooms.
I was also impressed with how responsive Lyn was throughout the time we rented. One night an intense storm knocked a tree branch on a power line. She helped us through what to do about it within minutes. I would definitely stay at Lyn's house again.
- "This property was the exact home we were looking for. Comfortable, quiet, and very cozy. The amenities were plentiful and the rental process was easy-peasy. Thank you for a wonderful experience." - "LYN's home was truly in the country--away from the noise and busy life. The screened in porch on the back of the house has a beautiful view of horses, trees and a lovely garden. Each day we had our meals and hung out on the porch taking in the atmosphere. The bedrooms upstairs and living room were very comfortable. The kitchen was modern and had everything you would need to cook. Our group needed high speed internet to work and play video games and it performed well. We had a great time and would stay in this house again."

Brand-new, and overlooking a stream that runs to the Hudson river, our Cabin has been kitted out with all modern amenities – air conditioning, internet, flat-screen TV with basic cable, microwave, ceramic cooktop, comfortable beds, and a covered porch just for kicking back. The pine-panelled interior will take you back to the heyday of mid-20th-century modern.
Designed for a family or a group of friends wanting to hang out of the weekend. There are 4 twin beds on the dormitory second level ( 2 can be pushed together and made up as a king just let us know ahead of time) and a queen-sized pull-out couch in the living room. It is also perfect for a groom's party.
Enjoy nature while being just on the edge of civilization: the city of Hudson is a 15-minute drive north and Rhinebeck is a 20- minute drive south. The villages of Germantown and Tivoli are each 5 minutes away- perfect for a scenic bike ride. The Cheviot town dock is just down the road for you to bbq or picnic alongside the Hudson or launch a kayak for a paddle. Attending a Performance at Bard College's Fisher Center? We are just 10 minutes away. Bard College offers Mon-Friday camps in soccer, tennis and basketball for your kids. You can even use their gym and indoor pool for a low daily price. GOING TO OMEGA? we are 25 minutes north. This cabin is fully furnished; just bring your toothbrush and a change of clothing. Two night minimum, plus cleaning fee. Not available Jan 2- April 1.
- "Easy, relaxing" - "I stayed here for several months in the summer of 2019 and had a fantastic time. House has everything needed for a relaxing stint. Hearing the birds on the porch every morning was a highlight, as was watching the fireflies in the yard every night. It's just down the road from Germantown proper, where you can get a delicious breakfast burrito and your groceries at Otto's or have dinner at the amazing Gaskins. In the other direction, you'll quickly hit Tivoli which has cute restaurants and shops. And about 20-minutes away is Hudson, with tons of restaurants and stores to keep you busy. A lovely place and Ripley and Jack couldn't be nicer."

Cape Farmhouse with modern touches, on nearly 3 acres backing up to a stream and an expansive backyard with far reaching country views . The house is bright, sun-filled and unique.
You enter the house on the first floor with living, dining, kitchen, a bedroom and full bath. There are two additional bedrooms on the 2nd floor. The lower floor has the master bedroom, full bath and a spacious 2 story family room flooded with natural light and a brand new 65” TV for those rainy or snowy days.
- "Loved most everything about the house. Even though it's right on 9G (and it's easy to miss when you're driving to it), it wasn't noisy. The master bedroom is quite spacious and comfortable, and the kitchen is roomy. The main living room area is downstairs, equipped with a large television. The adjoining deck is perfect for outdoor dining (though you have to bring the food downstairs to eat al fresco) and overlooks a large, sloped yard. The house is very convenient to the small downtown of Germantown and is 15 minutes from vibrant Hudson. The house could use a more detailed instructions handbook."

- "A few friends and I rented this amazing home for a 30th birthday weekend. The house was absolutely incredible!" - "Our experience with this trip was that it was amazing! The house was outstanding, everything we needed or wanted was available, the home was spotless, and the owners were wonderfully communicative ... I will certainly be back!" - "I normally do not write reviews but wanted to because this house was great. We stayed during the winter and house was plenty warm with radiant heating and fireplace. Some friends were supposed to join us but they cancelled and wound up being just our family of five. This house has tons of room and would of been more than enough room for all 10 of us. Nice quite location and close enough to skiing for us, we went twice to Catamount, only 30 mins away. Would definitely stay here again and would love to experience the summer with the pool. All around great experience and hassle free."

The house is located 7 miles from Bard College and is perfect accommodation for families attending Bard College Graduations.

Kitchen with gas range, and views of the Hudson River; pantry with dishwasher, washer/dryer. Large, 800 square foot drawing room with period furniture and portraits plus a fireplace, and formal dining room with seating for 10.
Porch with marble table and outdoor shaded seating for 10, plus incomparable views of ocean-going and smaller watercraft on the ever-changing tidal currents of the Hudson River. In-ground, fenced pool with views of the Hudson and Catskills. Expansive lawns for croquet, frisbee, wiffle ball, and other outdoor pursuits. Professionally landscaped gardens throughout the property, walking paths to explore, including the mile-long driveway.
- "The property and house are absolutely gorgeous, and the history in the house is amazing. The owner and groundskeeper were also extremely generous and pleasant; went out of their way to make us comfortable with our infant daughter!" - "Our family stayed for three weeks in the summer—me, my husband, and our three children (7,4,2)—and had such a lovely time. The house is beautiful, and with so much history! The home’s library includes many books on historic homes on the Hudson, so you can read more about Holcroft while you are there! It is a special experience. The grounds are incredible. Deer and turkeys in the fields every morning, the pool sparkling and clean each day, plenty of space to spread out and enjoy. The sunsets on the Hudson were my favorite part. Less than 10 minutes to Germantown or Tivoli, 15 to Red Hook and Hudson, 20 (maybe 25?) to Rhinebeck, so perfect location. The home has everything you need. Linens, towels (even pool towels), and a stock of items that makes it feel distinctly like a home and not a rental home. The caretaker for the property is second to none. He takes such great care of everything and provided us with some excellent recommendations. If only every VRBO had a caretaker like him! We are excited to come back to Holcroft and experience it in all of its seasons."
