Bathroom was small but well done- could use another surface( small table) to place stuff, but quality towels, lighting, outlets. Cute little balcony with 2 chairs & pillows. Only suggestion would be for an indoor mat for entering from snowy outside and a few more hangers. Also, being an older structure the floors are a little creaky but not a big issue. Would definitely return- great value for the money too!"

Anne wrote to me to confirm my booking, then I spoke with Shannon, and then with Misty once we arrived, however, I did not have Misty's number and had to communicate through Shannon. I tried texting as I wanted to leave a tip, but was ignored once I got my bags and checked out late. This was a disappointing note to leave on. That said, everyone was so helpful and we had flexibility with check-in and check out and could store our luggage -- which was great. Overall, the property looks and feels just like the photos. The sun filled one-level, 2 bedroom, 2 full bath, house is situated on over 3 acres of open fields which provide sublime vistas of the surrounding protected farmland and forest. Enjoy the amazing sunsets as you relax on the large deck overlooking a meadow and meandering creek. In the warmer months, cook dinner on the gas BBQ grill and dine alfresco on the large deck. In the winter, sit by the fireplace in the great room and relax from a day of fun in the snow. As evening approaches, drive 8 minutes to the thriving town of Hudson, pick up your houseguests at the Amtrak station, and head out for a dinner at one of many wonderful restaurants.

The great room, with cedar walls and vaulted ceiling, has 12 large windows and a glass door that opens out to the deck. In the summer/spring with all the windows open wide, and screens in place, the room becomes an elegant screened-in porch. This room also serves as the dining area, with a large, round slate table that easily sits 6 to 8. The daybed, situated in a corner of windows, easily converts to a twin bed.

One who loves to cook created the kitchen. It contains a stainless steel refrigerator and dishwasher, a Viking gas range and range-hood, a microwave, stainless steel shelves and an antique butcher block island. A coffee maker, toaster, and all utensils and cookware necessary to cook a gourmet meal are provided. There is dishware and silverware service for 10. In the warmer months, four superb farm stands are within a 5-minute drive.

In the living room, there is a full size couch, a large coffee table, and two matching chairs. There is an antique Japanese tansu that holds board games and additional storage.

The master bedroom has a queen size bed, bedside tables and reading lights, a full hanging closet and antique Japanese tansu for clothing storage. A glass door leads out to the back deck. The contemporary en suite master bath has limestone floors and a large soaking tub.

The guest bedroom has two twin beds, a full hanging closet for clothes, and is just around the corner from the full guest bath in the hall.

The back deck has a table with six chairs and two wood chaises with cushions. The front porch has two upholstered outdoor chairs, a side table and a bench.

The house is 2 hours from NYC, 10 minutes from the Taconic Parkway.

The second floor apartment is located on Warren Street—a mile long stretch of shops and restaurants. The space is fully furnished and decorated with a modern aesthetic. The windows along the front in the living room and front bedroom bring in plenty of natural light and an airy feel with views of the park across the street.

There is a normal level activity from cars and pedestrians during the day and evening hours. At the end of the block is one of Hudson's oddities—the freight train tracks. These trains run infrequently.

Although this is a new listing on VRBO ,we are not strangers to renting and managing apartments. We have rented this and two other apartments in the building on long term leases since 2007. This apartment is very bright thanks to 3 large windows facing the street and 4 windows on the side facing the garden which is a rarity on Warren Street.
The apartment offers a complete kitchen including a large oven, dishwasher, microwave and all the necessary utensils to prepare breakfast,lunch and diner should you decide to eat in. The kitchen island offers seating for two and the dining table seats 6 adult comfortably.

It was Thomas who, with his brother Seth, set out from Nantucket in 1783 to find a safe harbor for their vessels and those of other seafaring men from New England and found and purchased Claverack Landing. Tradition has it that, in the good Quaker community that was early Hudson, Thomas Jenkins was considered to be 'somewhat aristocratic' and was roundly criticized for the ostentation of his palatial home.

In her Colonial Restoration and Old Upper Hudson Walking Tours, first published in 1984, Mrs. Granvil Hills tells us that 'the house was later divided into 2 dwellings.' It is definitely two dwellings today, but it is not entirely clear when the division happened. In 1848, more than half a century after it was built, the house became a school for young ladies. What Anna Bradbury has to say about the school in her History of the City of Hudson suggests that it had already been divided at that point.
In 1848 the Misses Peake established a 'Young Ladies Seminary,' that for more than thirty years attracted the patronage of the best people of the city and vicinity. Before he bought 400 State Street and made it his home, the building had been the Reverend J. B. Hague's Hudson Female Academy, and he moved to this house on Warren Street soon after it ceased being the Misses Peake's Young Ladies Seminary.

In 1894, all or part of 216-220 Warren Street became the Howard Hotel, and so it remained until 1944.

Some time after the Howard Hotel closed in 1944, the building where Savoia is now located was added, and a bar opened there named for Hudson's most notorious home-based industry.

The building that started out as the grandest house in Hudson went through hard times in the 1980s and 1990s, but today, at more than two hundred years of age, it survives and thrives, although clearly as two separate and distinct parts.

Thank you!" - "We were lucky enough to spend a spectacular spring week here. Every day, the view seemed just a little different. We loved sitting out on the porch enjoying the area come alive (pro-tip: if you like to blow bubbles, this is your place). This home is so well stocked—you know that feeling when you arrive late in the day to a rental and immediately head out to the store because there’s maybe 2 ketchup packets in a drawer and a quarter-roll of 1-ply? Not this home. This home is ready for you. Everything you need for cooking, stocked bathrooms, even welcome candies and water bottles in the fridge. Sheets are so soft, there are more towels than I have at home, and they even have robes hanging in the closets. You feel like a guest not a renter. The house is private and soooo quiet, other than the occasional train horn, which I loved hearing. We had deer, groundhogs, and even some sassy wild turkeys looking in the bedroom window one morning! Communication with the owner is excellent and prompt—they even send restaurant recommendations! And yeah, you want to go the restaurants—we had some wonderful meals in both Hudson and Catskill. Caution for anyone with mobility issues: there are 3-4 steps to get in, and the staircase to the downstairs area might be a challenge. All in all, this is a lovely place to feed your soul (and your belly—I’m not kidding about those restaurants!)"

The suite features a sunny bedroom, an eat-in kitchen, a walk-in closet, and a gorgeous, abundantly-spaced bathroom with a clawfoot tub and double sinks. Oversized windows flood the rooms with light and the 14-foot ceilings feature exposed original beams. A curated selection of locally sourced antique furniture and meticulously restored mid-century appliances meet modern convenciences such as central AC and heating, high-speed internet, blue-tooth speakers, a building-wide water filtration system, and access to washer/dryer. Special touches include bespoke fixtures made by reclaimed industrial materials, decorative floor tiles of our own design, and original artwork by us and our talented friends. All guests have access to our beautiful covered greenhouse courtyard, a lovely space to enjoy your morning coffee, get work done, or indulge in a glass of wine. You can also use the BBQ to grill up a family dinner.

You won't need a car, as we're a 10-minute walk away from the train station. For guests who arrive by car, free street parking is available. If you have trouble finding a spot, we offer a private parking space for $30 per night.
Guests will have sole access to their kitchen, bathroom, sleeping and living area. Our guests privacy is most important to us.

Hudson Milliner is centrally located on the 400 block of Warren Street in Hudson. You have a great selection of restaurants, incredible antique stores, coffee shops, local pubs, as well as live music venues within walking distance. A nature walk just north of Hudson in the reserve is just a bike- or car ride away. A little further away are our personal favorites Bash Bish Falls and Kaaterskill Falls. If you are interested in Skiing during the winter we are 40 minutes or less away from 3 different ski resorts!

The unit is two floors above a bar and it can get noisy on weekend nights. However, you'll be on the top floor of the building so the noise shouldn't be too disruptive. You will receive a discount at Lawrence Park, the bar downstairs (details provided when booked).

We do not advise guests with children to stay here on the weekends given the noise from the bar below.

- "The property was misrepresented as two bedroom when only one. The location of the second bed does not have a door nor a closet. A desk was listed and not in the apartment. I used the apartment for remote work and needed a desk. Many of the power outlets did not work. The lamps in the bedroom with a door did not have light bulbs.When the oven and stove did not work, the owner responded 6 hours later after I notified VRBO and Evolve. She told me the stove needed to be plugged in. This required me to move the oven away from the wall and plug in the 240 V power plug. I also move the oven back to the original location. The oven did work after I plugged it in. I feel this is unreasonable to ask a guest to do.I had safety concerns because the door to the apartment could not be secured from within the apartment as it opened out into the hallway and did not have a secondary lock on the inside."

POOL AVAILABILITY & HEATING:
The pool is open during the warmer months from mid-April to October 14th. If confirmed available, there is a $150/day fee for pool heating at this home.

Once the heating fee is settled, the pool will be set to an auto-non-adjustable 77-82°F degrees to avoid bacterial growth.

Please let us know at least 72 hours before your arrival if you want the pool heated for your stay between the months mentioned.

Note: Pool service is scheduled every Tuesday at Wander Hudson Ridge. While we aim to minimize any inconvenience, please be aware that the service team may need to access the pool area briefly during your stay.

CELL SERVICE
