- "This place was so special and we were warmly welcomed by Jamie, who took care to review the hotel amenities and services with us when we arrived. Beautiful setting, our main floor king room had a gorgeous balcony overlooking a pastoral brook complete with a family of deer having an evening sip. We loved the added touch of records and a record player in the room - was nice to have when we got ready to go out for the evening. The bed was super comfortable and we slept great. Complimentary coffee first thing in the morning was cherry on the cake. This place is wonderful and lives up to the positive reviews - book it now, you will not be disappointed."

- "Had a great 5 day stay at the Chalet in Woodstock and Richard is a great host. He's in the adjacent building but checked in by text appropriately to see if we needed anything so no privacy issues. The chalet itself is very clean and well appointed and the pics don't really capture how unique and special the architecture is. Most important things for us in travel is the bed and shower. Bed was extremely comfortable and shower is clean with great pressure. The pool and pergola area is even nicer than the pics ..unfortunately weather wasn't great so didn't get to use the way we hoped ... would highly recommend to anyone looking in the area. Woodstock itself has it's charms and was a fun break."

Our stream side cottage is privately located on five park-like acres that are landscaped with beautiful gardens. Guests have access to the stream where you can swim, skip rocks, or simply sit and meditate on the nature all around you. We are less than a mile from the center of Woodstock, where you can find a wonderful assortment of restaurants, shops, art galleries and activities.
The cottage has everything you need to relax and enjoy a private getaway in the Hudson Valley. Our guests have all told us how perfectly situated this spot is.
Woodstock is an hour from the airports in Albany and Newburgh, 2.5 hours from JFK, Newark, and La Guardia airports, and a two hour drive from Manhattan. We are also in the area for popular ski areas - Belleayre - Windham and Hunter mountains.
The photos are accurate. The cottage is a separate building from the main house. The cottage building is part of a two car garage and is totally private. The main house is located on the property next door but not connected. We have a camera on our house pointing up the driveway, and none on or around the cottage.
At Green Pastures Stream side Cottage our focus is on providing a pristine and safe environment for our guests..
- "When we wanted a place to stay after a weekend in Vermont returning to NYC, we immediately thought of this place, having had an amazing experience here a few months before in the winter. We wanted to sit out by the creek under the trees but minus snow. The spaces feels so peaceful and calm. Town is a short 15-20 minute walk. And while we had complete privacy, meeting the owners and their poodle Bodhi was a lot of fun and very welcoming. Bodhi is a well-trained but rambunctious child who loves to play. We'll be back, I suspect, in the fall when leaves turn and we need to run away again from our busy lives."

Thanks R&R." - "Cleanest place we have ever rented. Really appreciated it. Had everything you could need. Very impressed with the place." - "I don't have enough great things to say about this place. The home is secluded and warm but with all the modern amenities. It sits in the middle of four wooded acres, with no other house in sight, but is only 1.8 miles from the center of the town of Woodstock. I bought it in the summer of 2013 and have enjoyed many relaxing weekends away from NYC.
The original interior is full of warm, knotty pine walls, hardwood floors, and a wood-burning fireplace. In the fall of 2013, I converted an adjoining artist studio to a Great Room. It now has cathedral pine ceilings, wood beams, and light pine floors. It also houses a down-filled Room & Board sofa and chaise, a ping-pong table, a gas woodstove, and a 55' television with cable TV.
The home has two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a washer and dryer. The Master bedroom features knotty pine cathedral ceilings, Russell Wright furnishings, a quality king mattress, and its own private second-floor deck. The second bedroom also features cathedral ceilings, painted knotty pine walls and ceiling, a Queen Bed, and a day-bed that can be converted to a king. The bed mattresses are all high-quality and very comfortable.
The kitchen has it all: gas stove, large refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and all the cooking tools, pots and pans, and dishes you could need. The kitchen leads to a serene screened-in back porch that looks onto the blue stone patio and off into the woods.
The front yard is beautifully landscaped with blue stone walkways and steps. About 100 yards to the side of the house -- still on the property -- is a mountain stream.
The home is permitted by the Town of Woodstock for short-term rentals. The registration number of the house for the Town is 21N-132.
- "We had a great stay in Woodstock. The house was comfortable enough for us to spread out, enjoy the setting, the pair of deer who greeted us on our first day, and more. We had to reach out to Dave a few times for a couple of minor issues that were fixed immediately. We wouldn't hesitate to rent this house again. We had a great vacation." - "Fantastic home to relax and enjoy nature and the wonderful town of Woodstock!" - "The perfect home for a weekend getaway. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfy and the kids loved the ping pong. We loved waking up to the view of the trees and the sounds of the birds. Very easy to get to town. Would stay here again. David was very helpful with answering all our questions."

Brook Cottage is ideally located on a shared and secluded property at the end of a private lane, yet it’s just a few blocks from the center of Woodstock and the NYC bus (no car needed). You can walk to Woodstock’s wonderful restaurants and cafes, galleries and shops, theaters and clubs, hiking trails and parks ~ or you can just stay home and relax in your own private oasis of peace and beauty.
Brook Cottage occupies the east wing of an authentic 1928 artist’s residence/studio, and features oversize north-light windows (with views of Overlook Mountain, the highest peak in the region) and a south-facing wall of glass with forest and brook views.
RELAX WITH A VIEW OF OVERLOOK MOUNTAIN
Step through the historic solid pine front door into the spacious living room featuring a 16-foot cathedral wood ceiling with skylights, dramatic 2-story north-light artist windows framing Overlook Mountain, and a gas-fueled fireplace with a double-height exposed fieldstone chimney. When the weather is chilly, you can start a cozy fire in the fireplace with the flip of a switch, and snuggle on the sofa with your honey ~ or on the overstuffed armchair with a book (perhaps selected from the collection in the wall of built-in bookcases behind you). When the weather is warmer, use the remote control to open the screened skylights and let in fresh mountain breezes as well as melodic birdsong. On hot days, you can turn on the air conditioning and run the overhead ceiling fan to create your own cool breezes!
OPEN PLAN GREAT ROOM OVERLOOKS STREAM + WOODS
Curtained hallways on either side of the stone fireplace lead to a 25’ wide light-filled open plan "great room" (kitchen/dining/lounge area) with a south-facing wall of glass that overlooks the private back lawn, conservation forest, and meandering year-round stream that flows right past your stone patio. You can relax on the slipcovered sofa or overstuffed armchair in the lounge area to admire the view and perhaps spot wildlife. Blue herons and ducks occasionally visit the stream, rabbits and chipmunks are frequent visitors, and across the stream you may spot a doe and her fawns. Or you can turn on the gas-fueled fire stove (also with the flip of a switch) and settle in by a cozy fire to watch a movie on your large flat-screen “smart" TV.
FOOD PREPARATION
Your brand new cook’s kitchen is fully-equipped to prepare simple snacks or elaborate meals. It features a Caesarstone quartz countertop, walnut cabinets, a quiet Miele dishwasher, and new stainless steel appliances, including a Bosch gas cooktop and conventional/convection wall oven, as well as all new matching sets of dishware, bakeware, All-Clad stainless pots and pans, cutlery and utensils ~ there’s even a Kitchenaid stand mixer for baking! The adjoining dining table seats 4.
Or you can grill and dine al fresco on your bluestone patio with a Weber gas grill and outdoor table (also seats 4) under the trees and next to the stream.
SLEEPING
At night, climb quiet carpeted stairs that run behind the central chimney to the second story master bedroom in the spacious sleeping loft with a railed balcony overlooking the living room below. Stretch out on the queen bed with 100% cotton luxury linens and hypoallergenic/down-alternative duvets and pillows under a large triangular-shaped window and skylights with views of the stream, woods and stars ~ or close the remote-controlled blackout shades to sleep late into the morning. With a skylight or window open, you can fall asleep to the soothing sound of the flowing brook. The bedroom also features a quiet AC, as well as a rocking chair sitting area.
On the first floor (next to the bathroom) is a second, smaller bedroom with a full bed and 100% cotton luxury linens and hypoallergenic/down-alternative duvets and pillows, east-facing windows with views of the stream and woods (and blackout shades), and a remote-controlled AC.
BATH WITH RAINSHOWER + STREAM VIEW
The bathroom (located on the first floor) has a tub with a windowed rain-shower (and stream view), as well as a unique polished tree branch shower curtain rod and curved teak countertop. Plush 100% cotton spa towels and a hairdryer are provided.
STAYING CONNECTED
Your flat-screen Samsung Frame TV is “smart” for streaming internet content as well as network programming. Likewise, high-speed WiFi service is reliable and strong, as is cell service for all major providers (Verizon, TMobile, etc.).

Over the years it has been lovingly renovated/updated and beautifully furnished/decorated by the designer-owner and a master craftsman with great care and attention to detail, as evidenced by the hand-plastered walls with softly rounded corners; natural woodwork and Douglas fir floors refinished to a silky sheen; state-of-the-art systems and appliances (including highly efficient and quiet ACs, dishwasher, and large front-load washer/dryer); 100% cotton luxury bed linens and plush bath towels, etc. In other words, Brook Cottage shares and upholds the same high standards of design, quality, comfort and luxury as Brook Cottage Too, the much-loved and highly popular 5-star rated vacation rental (#4230126) that occupies the west wing of the building and shares the driveway and parking area.
Although Brook Cottage and Brook Cottage Too are totally separate and independent semi-detached rentals (with separate entrances on different sides of the building, and private patios and outdoor spaces also on different sides of the building), and both are ideally suited for romantic getaways and personal retreats, they may also be rented together by groups of friends or extended family members who want to be together while still maintaining their own private spaces.
NO CAR NECESSARY
Brook Cottage is easy walking distance (just 5 minutes) to everything the village of Woodstock has to offer: popular restaurants/cafes, galleries, boutiques and specialty shops, live music and theater performances, hiking trails, bike rentals, etc. In other words, you don't need a car! Instead, you can take the Adirondack Trailways bus from NYC or NJ to the Woodstock village green, and walk just a few minutes to Brook Cottage, your luxury Woodstock getaway at the edge of the village!
MUSIC
Live Woodstock music can sometimes be heard at the cottage in the evening (7-10 pm) coming from the outside patio of the local favorite Station Bar & Curio, which serves craft beers, cocktails, and light meals in a small one-of-a-kind historic former train depot located about a block away.
PETS
Well-behaved, house-broken and crate-trained dogs are considered ~ please ask! Please note that dogs must be crated when left alone in the cottage, and leashed when outdoors. A $75/week pet fee per dog applies..
EASY TO CONTACT
We’re happy to answer any questions you may have, either before booking or during your stay. We look forward to hearing from you, and welcoming you to Brook Cottage for a peaceful and relaxing getaway!
RATES
Please note that our rates are based on a 2-person occupancy, and there's a $25/night surcharge for each additional guest. The reason we adopted this pricing structure is because we receive so many inquiries/bookings from couples who request discounts. We decided to reduce our rate by $50/night to accommodate them, and then add the surcharge for additional guests so that the full rate is paid only when the cottage is fully occupied by 4 people. We hope that this makes sense, and appreciate your understanding.

We had a very comfortable week." - "Enjoyed our time in the Catskills" - "My wife and I drove up to Woodstock for a last minute spa weekend. Our stay at Brook Cottage was great! I would absolutely recommend the Book Cottage to future guests."

Brook Cottage Too is ideally located on a shared and secluded property at the end of a private lane, yet it’s just a few blocks from the center of Woodstock and the NYC bus (no car needed!). You can walk to Woodstock’s local attractions (including parks and hiking trails) ~ or you can just stay home and relax in your own private oasis of peace and beauty. The cottage is immaculately clean and available for longer-term rentals, as well as short-term stays.
Brook Cottage Too occupies the west wing of an authentic 1928 artist’s residence/studio, featuring oversize north-light windows (with views of Overlook Mountain, the highest peak in the region) and south-facing skylights with forest and brook views.
Enter your private fenced patio through a double-door latched gate. Old native bluestone paves the curved walkway and outdoor dining area (framed by gardens of evergreen and flowering shrubs), while smooth river stones surround the gas-fueled fire pit. You can prepare meals using your new Weber gas grill and dine al fresco on the outdoor table shaded by a canopy of trees. At night, light the gas-fueled fire pit and snuggle by a fire under the stars.
Step from the patio through a covered doorway into your spacious and light-filled open plan “great room", which features a brand new fully-equipped country kitchen (with a Caesarstone quartz countertop, a quiet Miele dishwasher and new stainless appliances) that overlooks the living room (with an L-shaped slipcovered sofa, oversize north-light windows, a wall-mounted flat-screen “smart TV", and a cozy gas-fueled fire stove), and opens to a windowed dining area overlooking the patio gardens.
A skylit hallway leads to a spa-like bathroom with a Caesarstone counter and porcelain tub with a rain shower ~ under a cathedral ceiling with a large skylight! The skylight bathes the room with sun/moonlight, while you bathe under the treetops and clouds!
At the end of the hallway, climb quiet carpeted stairs to the full 2nd floor bedroom, which features a king bed (with a high-end mattress and luxurious 100% organic cotton fair-trade linens) under a large north-light window with mountain views (and black-out shades), a comfortable sitting area, a large remote-controlled skylight (also with black-out shades), a romantic electric fire stove, wide board wood floors with a hand-loomed artisan area rug, and a quiet remote-controlled AC.
Brook Cottage Too was architect-designed and has been lovingly renovated and beautifully decorated by the designer-owner and a master craftsman with great care and attention to detail, as evidenced by the hand-plastered walls with softly rounded corners; natural woodwork refinished to a silky sheen; brand new wood and porcelain floors; state-of-the-art systems and appliances (including highly efficient and quiet ACs, dishwasher, and washer/dryer); all new matching sets of dishware, bakeware, pots and pans, cutlery and utensils; 100% organic cotton fair-trade luxury bed linens and plush bath towels, etc. In other words, Brook Cottage Too shares and upholds the same high standards of design, quality, comfort and luxury as Brook Cottage (property #950862), the much-loved and highly popular 5-star rated vacation rental that shares the driveway and parking areas.
Although Brook Cottage and Brook Cottage Too are totally separate and independent semi-detached rentals (with entrances and private patios on different sides of the building), which are each ideally suited for romantic getaways and personal retreats, they may also be rented together by groups of friends or extended family members who want to be together while still maintaining their own private spaces.

- "The place was so peaceful yet we could easily walk downtown. Everything was impeccably clean and organized. We loved it!" - "My partner and I live in nyc so we were looking for a city escape and we found that in this space! There’s so much light. We had all the windows open and had clean fresh air flowing through the place. We rarely heard our neighbors - only sometimes when they exited via their own door entrance. The location is perfect. You walk out and you’re in the village and close walks to all the restaurants, cafes and shoppes. The grocery store is a bit further away but totally doable by foot! Hikes were all within quick driving distances. We had 1 issue with the internet and the host was able to communicate with me instantly to remedy the problem. There’s a cute bar just on the other side of the property - they do live music into the night which was nice to hear but also loud enough to sound like you’re in nyc. We turned on a noise machine and slept wonderfully on the bed! The little private courtyard with the firepit and grill was a perfect area to sit back and read for hours. We will be back!!"

Creek Cottage was built in 1939. A charming 2 bedroom, 2 bath home that has been updated with the aim of keeping the original farmhouse touches that make it very special. The photographs express it best. About .7 miles—or 14 uptown blocks— from the center of Woodstock, it’s an easy walk for city dwellers. But if you want to drive, it will take you about 3 minutes.
The cottage is truly cozy, but not because it’s tiny because it isn’t. It is just warm and welcoming, and it will bring a smile to your face as soon as you walk through the front door. The wide plank floors, beamed ceiling, and fireplace with original wood framing are striking. This is clearly a house where you can kick your shoes off and relax.
The kitchen is vintage in style but has modern appliances (no dishwasher, though). The large farm table can easily seat 6, and you’ll enjoy the views into the woods through the huge windows on two sides. On this main floor, there is a bathroom with shower, and you’ll find the washer/dryer here as well.
Both bedrooms are upstairs. One has a king-size bed, and the other has two twin-size beds. The bathroom has a tub and shower combination. In addition, there is a sitting area with a comfy couch and 43” flat-screen television, utilizing Sling TV. Of course, we have WiFi, too, so if you must engage with the 21st century on your vacation, you can!
Outside is a wooden deck with table and chairs. In summer, fresh herbs grow in the flowerpots, ready for you to pick fresh to use for your culinary endeavors. There is also a gas barbecue grill for your enjoyment, and we will supply the gas. Enjoy your meal looking right into the woods, and listen—much of the time you can hear the creek for which the cottage is named.
We supply many amenities for your stay:

A gas fireplace for the ultimate unwinding experience. Stay connected with wi-fi, digital cable, and Netflix enabled smart TV. Large, fully stocked kitchen, radiant heat, central AC. Two queen beds, and a full size sofa bed in living room. Sleeps 6.
Walking distance to NYC bus route and River Rock health spa. Great restaurants nearby. 1 and a half hours from George Washington bridge.
- "Lovely and quiet little cabin in the woods. Modern with all the conveniences. Very close to the center of town. We enjoyed our stay - especially the daily visits from a family of deer!" - "Great property for our quick long weekend getaway. Private and clean." - "Apparently, we can't keep away. The area is beautiful, lots of great walks and Woodstock is a lovely town. It's our third time at the cloud, so obviously we love it, feels like a home from home. First time with leaves on the trees which makes the place super private which we love. Hot tub clean and works great. Caught the Woodstock symphony orchestra also, which was a real treat. Would highly recommend."

- "We truly enjoyed our stay in Woodstock. The cottage is well stocked with everything you need. John and Molly are next-door and responsive to any questions you might have. It was very peaceful sitting in the backyard seeing the deer roaming in the field next-door in the woods behind the property is within walking distance of the town. We enjoyed a wonderful meal at Sylvia’s for dinner and a delicious breakfast at the Phoenicia diner. Don’t hesitate to book this cottage. It’s a wonderful place to stay."

Includes all comforts of modern living, this is the place to either get away from it all, or to celebrate an unforgettable get-together with friends and family.
Le Colibri offers arguably the most spectacular views in the Catskills. The photos give you a sense, but to really appreciate their splendor you have to come and see for yourself - you are sitting on the top of the world.
The only other sign of civilization are some sparkling lights at night, on Overlook Mountain, across the valley. Nobody can see you, and you are surrounded by nature's splendor. Le Colibri is what you hope to find after a long hike - except here you arrive via a private, majestic drive-way.
We cherish Le Colibri paradox: Even though you are fully immersed in nature, you are only a three minute drive away from enchanting Woodstock. The village is welcoming and fun in its decidedly alternative spirit. Good restaurants, cafes and boutiques abound, the pace is leisurely and the people of Woodstock are chatty. Enjoy a stroll down Tinker Street while listening to live music and relishing the town's 'Sixties' spirit, all the while spotting the occasional celebrity - back in the day Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston would summer down the road from Le Colibri. Woodstock is the home of many artists and musicians and increasingly being discovered by the hip and trendy. So whether you just want to buy the paper in the morning, dip down to town for a lunch or dinner, or knock on Valerie's door to pick-up a home-baked strawberry-rhubarb pie, the village is right there for you, and who knows who you might bump into?
Le Colibri consists of a three-story Main House and a separate two story Spa House. The two are connected by a large deck featuring a generous pool (open from mid-May through Nov. 1st). The pool is heated, but the seasons dictate the pool temperature, so before July 1st and after September 15th only the hearty souls swim. The deck is made of high-end composite - so no splinters! - and features a large grill station. The grill is connected to the house gas, so no fiddling with gas bottles or worrying about running out of gas. The deck furniture includes two mahogany pool lounges, a dining table with a large umbrella, an Adirondack seating group for four and a hammock.
The entrance to the Main House welcomes you with its cathedral ceiling. There is a comfortable bench where you can take off your boots in the winter, and store your ski equipment in the adjacent, generously proportioned closet.
Off the entrance is the entertainment room, with a working fireplace, a brand new 60' Samsung HD TV, couches, an alcoved home office (with our powerful wireless router), a wide-plank wooden floor, and a terrace to sit and enjoy the view.
Behind the entertainment room is the ground floor bedroom featuring French doors and a hand-made, solid cherry Le Grange bed with an adjunct Porcelanosa bathroom, turning this into a lovely mini-suite.
A grand staircase leads up to the second floor, opening onto the living room which has a another working fireplace, an ample leather couch and chairs, a music and library alcove and magnificent views.
The living room opens onto the generous kitchen with its modern appliances, including an induction stove-top, an oven and two refrigerators (main and beverages). The kitchen is fully equipped, and has ample cabinet space. It is framed by a counter island with high-chair seating for four, and a dining alcove with a beautiful dining table and spectacular mountain views.
Also off the living room is a wooden terrace, the perfect place to sit in the morning with a cup of coffee and watch the sun rise over the Hudson Valley. On clear days you can see as far as the Berkshires - we are in the Catskills!
Behind the living room are two lovely bedrooms. One features a charming four-post Queen-size bed (shown in the photos) and looks out over the pool area. The bedroom next to it is the same size (also with a Queen size bed) and looks onto the garden and Bocci court. The second bathroom (shown), with its modern design, is right across from the bedrooms.
A spiral staircase brings you up to the generously proportioned Master Bedroom under the roof. The MB features a new, natural-fiber King size mattress (all mattresses in the house are new and natural fiber), ample closet and storage space and a TV. En suite is the beautiful and bright Master Bathroom with a bubble-stream tub and a natural-light flooded shower.
Making your way back down and across the pool deck will take you to the Spa-House - and here you are in for a treat, the piece-de-resistance! The grand room is dominated by luxurious leather couches and walls of windows granting 180 degree views. Sink into these chairs with a good glass of wine and you know that this world is not such a bad place after all. In the summer you can open four large French doors and enjoy the breeze and the sound of silence - or listen to your favorite music on the ample stereo system. The grand room of the Spa House has its own terrace with a full range of magnificent Catskill mountains views.
Downstairs from the grand room is the large, fully tiled garage. The original owner of the property, a modern gentleman, kept his 1976 Rolls Royce convertible here. You can still use it as a garage, especially in the winter. But chances are, you will have too much fun playing pool on the perfectly kept pool table or exercising on the gym equipment to even notice that it is meant as a garage.
Outside you'll find a vast, open lawn with two beautiful birch trees, tremendous oak trees standing sentinel, and of course the stroll down to our private pond.
The pond is situated in the lower part of the property, almost tucked away, and very much in its own, unperturbed world. This is the magic garden where you expect a fairy to whisper sweet secrets into your ear at any moment. Take the kids for a row boat ride on the pond. Watch the leisurely gold fish. Have a picnic at the shaded table with your bare feet caressed by the deep, lush moss. Feel eternity and timelessness.
Back at the house, the Bocci court beckons, and the beautiful garden. But maybe your favorite thing to do will be to sit on the cushions by the outdoor fire pit, see the sparks fly into night and take in the glow of the mountains.
Winter:
Skiing: Hunter and Belleayre 30-40 minutes drive.
Magnificent cross-country trails nearby.
Please note that the drive-way is sloped. While we will have it plowed and sanded for you, please be prepared and bring snow chains for your tires.
- "We saw beautiful views and I enjoyed the fire pit." - "The space is beautiful & beyond expectations. Quiet, secluded, cozy and warm. Majestic views, Very spacious. Endless views & Beautiful stars at night. Rachel, was very caring & responsive to all our needs. We loved our stay, and will be back." - "We had a wonderful Friendsgiving! There were 8 of us who had more than enough room in this spacious house! The view was amazing especially in the fall! The owners were very responsive, and helpful!"

Guest Book: We made it here very easily last night and are thrilled. We also did the hike this morning and loved it - went to the top of Mt. Guardian as per your notes, and found that secret vantage point where you look out at Cooper Lake... Hiked overlook mountain yesterday - the views were astonishing - though we were not brave enough to go the distance to Indian Head. We also found our way to the swimming hole and absolutely loved it... As I'm sure you can tell, we love it up here and wanted to see if you'd be interested in renting the house to us Columbus Day weekend... Certainly a bit of a shock to be back in the city after our days on Mt. Guardian.
Guest Book: We really enjoyed ourselves in the Catskills and the house was lovely - exactly what we were after. I think we saw a bobcat although I confess to being ignorant of North American wildlife. We saw it reasonably close to the house. In any case, we loved staying in your charming forest getaway. Everything was fantastic and the hike from the house to the view was such a bonus. Also an activity you can include for future guests is inner tubing in Phoenica. What a blast!
- "Great stay again" - "We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the cabin. The pictures do not do this wonderful house justice. We spent every night on the screened in porch , overlooking the ponds, listening to and watching nature unfold. We saw amazing wildlife. The house is fully stocked for all your cooking needs. The hosts are quick to respond with any questions. In town we dined at Silvia, which was delicious and enjoyed drinks at early terrible/mud club (a must see ). Also worth mentioning is the monastery at the base of overlook mountain. Upstate New York has so much to offer. We can not wait to return."

We spent a long weekend in Woodstock and Carole & Ike’s studio was a great location (literally minutes from town) while still allowing us to enjoy the quiet vibes and beautiful views that Woodstock has to offer. We enjoyed some pool time on our arrival day before heading into town for dinner and a show. The studio itself was spotless and well stocked with everything we needed. There was even yummy muffins for us. Carole & Ike were both lovely hosts. They had great recommendations for restaurants and entertainment and Ike has lots of Woodstock music history. We could’ve spent hours just chatting with them. We are already talking about our next trip back! Thank you Carole & Ike!"

Two separate buildings - a 'pool house' with a pool table and its own deck and screen porch, and a fully self-contained guest house are also available for use. An infinity edge pool and hot tub with surrounding deck complete the perfect retreat in any season.
*Please note: the hot tub is open year 'round but the pool is closed from October to May.

For Summer 2024 only: This is a unique opportunity to stay within walking distance to the center of Woodstock (less than 10 min walk into the Village Green) while still being secluded and peaceful. Whether you're looking for a restful vacation place or a live/work setting, this home is an ideal location. Good for families with young children and groups or a share with different families. Special offer for month rental.
An oasis in the center of Woodstock. Listen to the waters of the Millstream while relaxing in the heated saltwater pool and still be close enough to walk into town to enjoy all Woodstock has to offer.
Please note that this is our primary home and we don’t usually rent it out. Our property is on a private lane, so you get the feel of being surrounded by nature but the convenience of being centrally in Woodstock.
The house itself is quite large (2,800 sq. ft.) and can accommodate up to 12 people in 4 bedrooms with 4 full bathrooms. There are two main entrances. From the front (through the kitchen) you have a living room and dining room with a wood burning stove, a bedroom with full size bed upstairs, a laundry room, a large bedroom with two full size beds and a large bathroom (with sauna and open walk-in shower). The bathroom has heated floors. Off the kitchen is a hallway to a cozy guest bathroom with a small shower.
The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you'd need. The refrigerator, gas range and dishwasher are all Bosch. Kitchen also has an air fryer, microwave, Rok manual espresso maker, Cuisinart stand mixer, rice cooker and Instant Pot.
You walk through a hallway from the living room (which goes slightly underground – see photo with a yellow wall for reference) to a workshop, then up a set of stairs to the second main building. There is a large room with huge windows overlooking the tree canopy at the top of the stairs with another full-size bed.
The solarium (with a Hyrdow rowing machine and desk in it) gives access to the rear of the house. Off the solarium is the third full bathroom and a full studio. The studio has a queen size bed, workspace, couch, kitchenette, refrigerator, loft with another bed (the loft space is not counted as part of the sleeping spaces because the stairs could be tricky at night for someone) and a full en suite bathroom with tub. You can exit the house from this studio to a private deck and access the pool area from the back fence door.
The property also has a teepee for use during your stay. Gather around the fire pit, relax in the hammock, or test your balancing skills on the slackline. Off the kitchen on the front deck, enjoy the Weber propane grill. Level 2 electric car charger available (Tesla with non-Tesla adaptor).
The home has a full house water filter and extra filter water tap at kitchen sink for drinking.
The Millstream is at the bottom of our driveway/lane if you want to swim around or hang out in the cool fresh waters.
You can take a Trailways bus to Woodstock and walk down the hill to the house – which can be very convenient if you need to go between NYC and Woodstock without a car.
Please note that our private saltwater pool has a ladder, but no stairs, so may not be appropriate for small kids without appropriate supervision. No dogs allowed in the pool.
Caution: Dogs should not be left unsupervised in the backyard by the pool since there are no steps out of the pool for a dog to get out if it accidentally got in.
IMPORTANT: If you book, please be aware and ok with the following:
There are deer, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, the occasional black bear, and other critters they attract, in the area and they may roam the property.
It is important to understand this is the country. As a result, animals may be out and about in the open areas outside. Also, there can be the occasional mouse or ants that will find their way in from the outside. Ants will be more common to see depending on the month (but especially in May and June). We leave ant bait out but can remove them if you have kids. It is important not to leave food out in the house. Due to the crawl space underneath the house, there are ways for a mouse to get in. We take every precaution and lay mouse traps in the crawlspaces and near the access points. These are tucked away in places you can't see. And generally we never see or hear anything but it is a possibility.
Please know this is a house where a dog lives. The dog of course will not be there.
Lastly, we will be out of the country (in Asia) while you are renting but will have a local property manager available to help with any issues. We will be available as well but the time difference may delay responses. Depending on dates, we could welcome you in person or check-in will be on your own with full details left in house book.

The quintessential Woodstock home. A uniquely crafted, artist’s colony aesthetic just a few minutes walk to main street Woodstock. The house’s antique original structure was added onto with a Great Room featuring large windows, a wood stove and a windowed loft for guest sleeping accessed via a pull-down staircase. The original living room features a stone fireplace under a vaulted ceiling. Up the stairs you will find a spacious landing which is perfect for a workspace, meditation area, or whatever you would like it to be. There is one enclosed bedroom upstairs and 3 other spaces that are easily utilized as additional bedrooms. Plenty of storage space of deep closets and large cabinets.

Originally built in 1963, the property was updated in 2022 / 2023 and furnished with classic MCM furniture and decoration. The house has 1900 square feet of living space spread over two levels and a 500 square foot attached two car Garage / Studio.
The main level of Mark Grove has an open plan Living Area with a fireplace with propane insert, Dining Area with a large picture window, and Kitchen with a wooden deck and a stairway to the back yard. Marko Grove is surrounded by gardens and bluestone paths. Perennial and annual flowers, bushes and mature trees make the property a private hideaway.
At the front of the house is a bluestone walkway lined with solar powered lights that leads from the asphalt driveway to the front door. Flanking the front door are wooden decks with Adirondack chairs and tables.
The front yard features mature trees, an oval garden with beautiful bushes, grasses and perennials, a young weeping willow on one side and a grove of Emerald Green Thuya trees on the other.
The huge back yard is bordered by woods and a ravine on the back and one side. A bluestone patio with resin wicker furniture and a propane grill is accessible via the Media Room’s sliding glass door. A charming garden shed with firewood rack is in the back yard.
Extending along the back of the house is a raised garden with bluestone walls with a magnificent weeping Norway spruce and other plantings and metal sculpture. A bluestone path leads from the Media Room patio to the cobble stone firepit at the center of a bluestone patio with Adirondack chairs and tables. The cascade with the meditative sounds of falling water running into a pond is made of river cobbles with seasonal water lilies and hyacinths and surrounded by bushes which complete the wonderful setting. There are lights that illuminate the back yard trees and plants at night and create a magical landscape.
Marko is very close to the Bearsville Theater Complex which hosts concerts, performances, conferences and special events. It has two restaurants, a lively bar with music and an artisanal ice cream shop. Just beyond and over the Sawkill River bridge is the Cub Market and a US Post Office.
