The home is secluded and warm but with all the modern amenities. It sits in the middle of four wooded acres, with no other house in sight, but is only 1.8 miles from the center of the town of Woodstock. I bought it in the summer of 2013 and have enjoyed many relaxing weekends away from NYC.

The original interior is full of warm, knotty pine walls, hardwood floors, and a wood-burning fireplace. In the fall of 2013, I converted an adjoining artist studio to a Great Room. It now has cathedral pine ceilings, wood beams, and light pine floors. It also houses a down-filled Room & Board sofa and chaise, a ping-pong table, a gas woodstove, and a 55' television with cable TV.

The home has two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a washer and dryer. The Master bedroom features knotty pine cathedral ceilings, Russell Wright furnishings, a quality king mattress, and its own private second-floor deck. The second bedroom also features cathedral ceilings, painted knotty pine walls and ceiling, a Queen Bed, and a day-bed that can be converted to a king. The bed mattresses are all high-quality and very comfortable.

The kitchen has it all: gas stove, large refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and all the cooking tools, pots and pans, and dishes you could need. The kitchen leads to a serene screened-in back porch that looks onto the blue stone patio and off into the woods.

The front yard is beautifully landscaped with blue stone walkways and steps. About 100 yards to the side of the house -- still on the property -- is a mountain stream.

The home is permitted by the Town of Woodstock for short-term rentals. The registration number of the house for the Town is 21N-132.

Guardian as per your notes, and found that secret vantage point where you look out at Cooper Lake... Hiked overlook mountain yesterday - the views were astonishing - though we were not brave enough to go the distance to Indian Head. We also found our way to the swimming hole and absolutely loved it... As I'm sure you can tell, we love it up here and wanted to see if you'd be interested in renting the house to us Columbus Day weekend... Certainly a bit of a shock to be back in the city after our days on Mt. Guardian.

More if the comforts of home than typical small Catskills cabins. 5 minutes to Woodstock city center with lots of great restaurants. Hot tub was a great addition. The only minor challenges were the living room couch which is not the most comfortable but it’s not a huge issue if you’re spending most of your time exploring out of the house. And the gas fireplace stove makes a loud noise when it kicks on and off and made me think the house was being broken into. Once I realized that was not the case, we got used to it and it just became background noise (pretty standard for us city folks). That being said, the stove plus the portable radiator in the bedroom kept us warm and cozy on a few 20 degree nights. Would definitely recommend this place."

Maple House was built in 1916 and is one of the original homes on Maple Lane, a quiet side street that borders Mower’s Field. One of the last surviving American maple trees that once lined the street stills stands in front of the house! On summer weekends, Maple Lane is transformed from a sleepy residential neighborhood into a hub of activity when the famous Woodstock Flea Market takes place in Mower’s Field every Saturday/Sunday from May-October. You can join in the fun and hunt for bargains/collectibles, or observe the festivities from the comfort of your covered front porch. Or you can retreat to the peace and quiet of the house interior or your spacious backyard surrounded by a tall privacy fence ~ and you’ll never know the market (or anything else) is there!

In its 100-year history, Maple House has only had 4 owners, and all have been artists or musicians. (The internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Tom Pacheco shot the cover for one of his albums in the backyard.) The current owners are artist-designers, and they have lovingly and expertly restored and upgraded the house to include modern conveniences and luxury amenities, while still retaining its original character and charm. The wood floors, woodwork, windows, staircase and fireplace have been restored to their original like-new condition, while the 2 bathrooms and the kitchen have been totally renovated and updated.

The living area features a rustic wood slab coffee table surrounded by new leather lounge seating with oversize throw pillows, where you can snuggle with a book, watch a movie on the wall-mounted flatscreen TV ~ or simply take a nap! In the wintertime, you can flip a switch to instantly light a fire in the gas-fueled fireplace and create a cozy romantic atmosphere (no wood-chopping or fire-building skills required!).

2 BATHROOMS
Maple House has two spa-like bathrooms, one on each floor. Both are newly remodeled, modern and heated. The downstairs bathroom features a frameless glass shower with a rain head. The upstairs bathroom has an extra deep soaking tub (also with a shower head and a quartz seat). Once you draw your bath, the tub will automatically heat and gently recirculate the water to maintain the temperature you set, so you don’t have to refill. Instead you can just lay back, close your eyes, and float away ~ perhaps to the sound of music playing on the bathroom bluetooth speakers (for your own personal spa-cation experience)!

2 BEDROOMS
There are also two bedrooms on the second floor, both with midnight-blue painted wide-board floors, wood ceilings with exposed beams, queen-size platform beds with brand new Serta Beautyrest mattresses and luxury linens, black out shades, plenty of wardrobe space, full-length mirrors, and rustic furniture that captures the spirit of the Catskills.

HEAT/AC
The newly expanded thermostat-controlled hydronic heating system will keep you toasty warm during the winter months, and air conditioning units in both bedrooms and the living/dining area will keep you cool and comfortable in the summer.

BACKYARD
Your fully-fenced double-lot backyard truly is a private oasis in the heart of the village. It features a sunny lawn surrounded by perennial gardens, flowering shrubs, and a variety of trees, including 2 Japanese maples (which turn fiery red in the fall) and a crabapple tree (which is adorned with delicate white blossoms in the spring). Two rustic handmade “chairs” have been carved from the trunk of a fallen 100-year-old pine tree that once stood on the property. In the summer, you can retreat to the shaded lounge area with a cushioned loveseat and two armchairs under the trees. Or you can stretch out in the sun on recliners and soak up the rays. The bluestone patio next to the kitchen has a brand new Weber gas grill, Tikki torches, and a table that seats 6 for cooking and dining al fresco.

NO CAR NEEDED
Although Maple House has private off-street parking for 2 cars, you don’t need a car to get here. You can simply ride the Adirondack Trailways bus from NYC or NJ and arrive at the Woodstock Village Green (just one block from the house) in only a few hours!

Please note that this is our primary home and we don’t usually rent it out. Our property is on a private lane, so you get the feel of being surrounded by nature but the convenience of being centrally in Woodstock.

The house itself is quite large (2,800 sq. ft.) and can accommodate up to 12 people in 4 bedrooms with 4 full bathrooms. There are two main entrances. From the front (through the kitchen) you have a living room and dining room with a wood burning stove, a bedroom with full size bed upstairs, a laundry room, a large bedroom with two full size beds and a large bathroom (with sauna and open walk-in shower). The bathroom has heated floors. Off the kitchen is a hallway to a cozy guest bathroom with a small shower.

The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you'd need. The refrigerator, gas range and dishwasher are all Bosch. Kitchen also has an air fryer, microwave, Rok manual espresso maker, Cuisinart stand mixer, rice cooker and Instant Pot.

You walk through a hallway from the living room (which goes slightly underground – see photo with a yellow wall for reference) to a workshop, then up a set of stairs to the second main building. There is a large room with huge windows overlooking the tree canopy at the top of the stairs with another full-size bed.

The solarium (with a Hyrdow rowing machine and desk in it) gives access to the rear of the house. Off the solarium is the third full bathroom and a full studio. The studio has a queen size bed, workspace, couch, kitchenette, refrigerator, loft with another bed (the loft space is not counted as part of the sleeping spaces because the stairs could be tricky at night for someone) and a full en suite bathroom with tub. You can exit the house from this studio to a private deck and access the pool area from the back fence door.

The property also has a teepee for use during your stay. Gather around the fire pit, relax in the hammock, or test your balancing skills on the slackline. Off the kitchen on the front deck, enjoy the Weber propane grill. Level 2 electric car charger available (Tesla with non-Tesla adaptor).

The home has a full house water filter and extra filter water tap at kitchen sink for drinking.

The Millstream is at the bottom of our driveway/lane if you want to swim around or hang out in the cool fresh waters.

You can take a Trailways bus to Woodstock and walk down the hill to the house – which can be very convenient if you need to go between NYC and Woodstock without a car.

Please note that our private saltwater pool has a ladder, but no stairs, so may not be appropriate for small kids without appropriate supervision. No dogs allowed in the pool.

Caution: Dogs should not be left unsupervised in the backyard by the pool since there are no steps out of the pool for a dog to get out if it accidentally got in.

IMPORTANT: If you book, please be aware and ok with the following:

There are deer, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, the occasional black bear, and other critters they attract, in the area and they may roam the property.

It is important to understand this is the country. As a result, animals may be out and about in the open areas outside. Also, there can be the occasional mouse or ants that will find their way in from the outside. Ants will be more common to see depending on the month (but especially in May and June). We leave ant bait out but can remove them if you have kids. It is important not to leave food out in the house. Due to the crawl space underneath the house, there are ways for a mouse to get in. We take every precaution and lay mouse traps in the crawlspaces and near the access points. These are tucked away in places you can't see. And generally we never see or hear anything but it is a possibility.

Please know this is a house where a dog lives. The dog of course will not be there.

Lastly, we will be out of the country (in Asia) while you are renting but will have a local property manager available to help with any issues. We will be available as well but the time difference may delay responses. Depending on dates, we could welcome you in person or check-in will be on your own with full details left in house book.

Marko Grove is a Mid-Century Modern Raised Ranch house on a large lot in Woodstock’s well-known Bearsville Flats neighborhood. The MCM houses in this area were built in the 1950s and 60s for IBM staff and their families.

Marko is one of only 6 houses on a quiet cul-de-sac. You'll see a local herd of deer, a flock of wild turkeys, and various foxes, rabbits, squirrels and beloved indoor/outdoor cats.

Originally built in 1963, the property was updated in 2022 / 2023 and furnished with classic MCM furniture and decoration. The house has 1900 square feet of living space spread over two levels and a 500 square foot attached two car Garage / Studio.

The main level of Mark Grove has an open plan Living Area with a fireplace with propane insert, Dining Area with a large picture window, and Kitchen with a wooden deck and a stairway to the back yard. There are 2 Bedrooms with large closets and a full Bathroom with tub shower and a window overlooking the garden.

The lower level has 1 Bedroom with large closet, a full Bathroom with tub shower and a window, a Media Room with boathouse style woodworking and with sliding glass doors that lead to a bluestone patio and the back yard, an Office/Bedroom with large closet and a Utility room with pantry and storage cabinets, quartz counters and a stacked washer/dryer.

The heated two car Garage/Studio has skylights, windows and separate door leading to the Utility Room and the back yard.

The house sleeps 6 people with an additional 2 temporary guests in the Media Room and1 in the Office/Bedroom. There are two queen size beds and two twin beds, plus a queen size sofa bed and a twin size couch.

Marko Grove is surrounded by gardens and bluestone paths. Perennial and annual flowers, bushes and mature trees make the property a private hideaway.

At the front of the house is a bluestone walkway lined with solar powered lights that leads from the asphalt driveway to the front door. Flanking the front door are wooden decks with Adirondack chairs and tables.

The front yard features mature trees, an oval garden with beautiful bushes, grasses and perennials, a young weeping willow on one side and a grove of Emerald Green Thuya trees on the other.

The huge back yard is bordered by woods and a ravine on the back and one side. A bluestone patio with resin wicker furniture and a propane grill is accessible via the Media Room’s sliding glass door. A charming garden shed with firewood rack is in the back yard.

Extending along the back of the house is a raised garden with bluestone walls with a magnificent weeping Norway spruce and other plantings and metal sculpture. A bluestone path leads from the Media Room patio to the cobble stone firepit at the center of a bluestone patio with Adirondack chairs and tables. The cascade with the meditative sounds of falling water running into a pond is made of river cobbles with seasonal water lilies and hyacinths and surrounded by bushes which complete the wonderful setting. There are lights that illuminate the back yard trees and plants at night and create a magical landscape.

Marko is very close to the Bearsville Theater Complex which hosts concerts, performances, conferences and special events. It has two restaurants, a lively bar with music and an artisanal ice cream shop. Just beyond and over the Sawkill River bridge is the Cub Market and a US Post Office.
Both the new Woodstock Public Library and Rick Volz field with basketball courts, baseball/softball field, pickle ball court, mini playground and public pavilion are a few blocks away.

Guests at Marko Grove can enjoy all Woodstock has to offer. Shops, restaurants, art galleries, Yoga studios; concert, theater, opera venues. The space
This is a tranquil space with easy access to Woodstock center, Saugerties and Kingston, and best of all the Levon Helm Studio. The suite provides a good degree of privacy and room to spread out.

Please note that if you don't have a car, it's less convenient getting around. Walking isn't advised as there are no sidewalks or shoulders on the roads. Uber/Lyft are available on a limited basis and it's best to book in advance.

This is a cozy, bright room for 1 or possibly 2 guests guests on the 2d floor of a historic older Woodstock home. The walls are graced with paintings, sculptures, and artwork that reflects the spirit of our famous town. People often say it's like being in an art museum! The bathroom is just outside in a short hallway and shared with 1 - 3 other people. ****We live with 2 friendly cats so can only host guests who are NOT ALLERGIC. ****

With an affordable price and the best location, we are only a 10-minute walk to the Woodstock/NYC bus stop and town center with all its galleries, restaurants, shops yoga & music events . We are a 15 min. drive to the Tibetan Monastery KTD, 10 miles from Kingston and Saugerties with its famous HITS (Horses In The Sun). A 3 minute car ride will get you to the Bearsville Theater music events and 10 minutes to Levon Helm's barn.

COOL OFF IN THE SUMMER HEAT at a special wild area with a lake 15 minutes away by car where swimming is free, and it's big enough to kayak and paddle board if you can bring those. When you come back you can top off your day at the Glo Health Spa which is a mile from our house.

You can enjoy a peaceful walking trail through the forests and a creek 2 blocks away from the house and there's also spectacular scenery at the exquisite Wilson
State Park about 15 minutes from here by car. The Bearsville theater is 3 minutes away by car an Levon Helm's studio is a 2 mile drive.

*****Our house is on the main street that runs through the town so you do hear traffic sounds though it is less at night and during the week***** Most people are not bothered by it, but if you are sensitive to sound, bring ear plugs just in case. This airbnb would not be suited to people who need complete silence and are very sensitive to sound of any sort.

We have a nice backyard where you can sit and have a drink or read a book during the warm seasons.and around the corner is a wide open field with a deer family.

Two friendly, nosy cats "Pippin" and Squeaky live here so I can only host guest who are NOT allergic. They love guests and will greet you!

Guests may use the back yard and porch in nice weather. Each has a little table with chairs where you can sit and read, eat, or have a drink. You may use the kitchen, living room, and washer/dryer. ($5.00 per load of laundry).

Free parking is available outside the house along my fence if you have a normal size car. Trucks may need to be parked across the street (free) since this is a narrow lane.

This neighborhood is very friendly, with dog walkers and a deer family. It's also on a pretty walking lane with lots of trees, flowers, and fields.

Guests may bring 1 pet if it is not aggressive with cats.

We are also about 11 minutes from Saugerties, which also has shopping, and a movie theater. Skiing is 35 minutes away at Hunter and Belleayre. The Red Onion, known as the best restaurant in Woodstock, is a mere 5-minute walk from our house!

Simply decorated and conveniently located, Grandma's Place is on a quiet road just minutes from all Woodstock has to offer. Vintage furnishings make this popular rental a fun place to stay.

The house shares a roof with Grandma's Apartment but the spaces are separated with a secure and sound proofed door. The only shared areas include the driveway and garden.

The space
Perfect for a couple or small family, Grandma’s Place is walking distance to the center of Woodstock. Furnished with a flare for the fifties, this cute rental has all the amenities of home.

Grandma's Place allows for rental of two bedrooms with queen-sized beds. One or two Single floor mattresses can be added to accommodate two children.

The kitchen and dining area has a dish washer, large fridge and an expandable table. Food in the fridge and cabinets is available for guest consumption.

On chillier days a propane fireplace in the living room will add ambience to this already cozy space. For warmer days a patio is just a few steps down from the kitchen.

Also available to guests is the beautiful backyard and fire pit for a real fireside experience. A view of majestic Overlook Mountain frames the private grassy, tree lined backyard.

While here in the summer, Grandma occupies an apartment within the house that is completely separate from the guest area. The driveway and garden behind the apartment are the only shared areas. Guests can be assured they will feel privacy while staying at Grandma's Place.

According to local sound ordinances, quiet time is between 11p and 7a the following morning.

Once a Woodstock chicken barn, your space is the lower level which has been renovated as a studio apt. that maintains its rustic charm with wide plank pine floors & ceiling beams. Only 2 blocks (a ten minute walk) to down town Woodstock & the NYC bus stop. We are 1 block from the Tinker St. Cinema and about 1.5 miles from the Bearsville theater. There are hiking trails for you to enjoy, the beautiful Wilson State Park as well as The stunning views of Cooper Lake and the Ashokan Reservoir.

The space
You have your own little hideaway in the barn studio which is one large open spaced room, the lower level of what was in times past a chicken barn. It is now renovated with a rustic feel. There is nobody living upstairs: It's just used as a storage space. The barn Studio is located on a small neighborhood lane 2 blocks from the center of town town - a ten minute walk to all the restaurants, galleries, and sops. It feels very private even though there are passerbys. The studio has a small compact bathroom with a shower and small tub. There is one queen size bed which sleeps 2. Though not set up for extensive cooking, the kitchen will enable you to put together simple meals while you are on the go. Here's what we have: a small 4.5 cc refrigerator , a microwave, toaster, coffee maker, a 2 burner hot plate, cutting board, plates,cups, basic eating and cooking utensils , pots, a fry pan, and a tea kettle.
For your comfort, there is coffee and various teas on the kitchen counter. There is a smart TV with built in roku.There is free parking space for one normal size car in a small gravel driveway outside the studio .

WHAT'S NEARBY - We are 2 blocks from a forest walking trail, bus stop, Woodstock town center, shops, flea market, galleries. KTD monastery and overlook mountain trail head is a 15 minute drive up the mountain from here and Levon Helm's studio is 2 miles away. Stunning views of Wilson State Park and the Ashokan Reservoir are about a 15 minute drive from our house and if you like skiing Hunter Mountain is a 40 minutes away by car.

The space
This space really has options! A beautiful downstairs room, large enough to be kitchen, dining room and living room -- and even a bedroom if you ask me to open up the couch and prepare the space for a third guest. Upstairs is cozy with a king-size bed and a full bathroom -- plus a door leading out to a rooftop deck overlooking a field with Guardian Mountain watching over you.

Our style is classic Woodstock, which means this is no Ramada Inn. We are always finding ways to spruce it up, and you will like it if you like cosy, pretty, comfortable, and functional, but not high tech. No TV!

Please note that the kitchen is designed for light-weight food prep only! Here is what it contains: a coffeemaker, a toaster oven, a hot plate and kettle, and a refrigerator. Plus a large sink. There are dishes. It works great for coffee, snacks and takeout. No microwave.

Additionally, please note that Mountain View Serenity is the back wing of the large house in which I live. Your entrance is separate. You share no facilities with the main house. You will have an extremely private experience.

Just two blocks from the main street and a short 0.3 miles to the "village green", in a quiet neighborhood. Open bedroom window and hear the bubbling waters of Tannery Brook. Private room and private bath. This upstairs BR/BA has a privacy wall separating it from the rest of the upper floor. The guest can control the Mitsubishi split-system for heat/AC as desired. And be sure to pack a swimsuit during warm weather for a dip in the swimming hole in Millstream a minute walk away.

The space
In the bedroom is a coffee/tea station. Regular and decaf coffee (K-cups) and a variety of teas are provided plus bottled water, half-n-half, sugar, and stevia. Breakfast foods are in the hall, just outside the bedroom, and include granola bars and chocolate. A desk is provided. A washer/dryer combo is located in the private bathroom; washing detergent is provided.

Guest access
Guests have access to the upstairs bedroom and private bath. Privacy wall separates this upstairs area from the rest of the upper floor.
Guests can use the outside deck on rear of house and entrance to Tannery Brook through the gate.
Guests can also put items in the refrigerator downstairs in the owner's kitchen.

The space
Our cabin is all newly renovated, with full kitchen and bath and large wraparound deck. My house is on the property, behind the cabin. The cabin’s deck faces away from the house into the woods, so that both places are private. We are in the woods, where it is peaceful and quiet, and home to deer, raccoons, wild turkey, birds, squirrels and chipmunks, peepers, and even the occasional bear. With all this we are only minutes away from restaurants, theaters and shopping, hiking and swimming, and Tibetan monastery. Going further afield, there are many other towns to explore in this area, including antiquing centers (Hudson); as well as historic homes (FDR's Hyde Park, for one); the early government buildings in Kingston (the first capital of NY State); the old stone houses on Huguenot Street in New Paltz, beautiful Bard College Campus with its wonderful concerts and performances; Hunter and Tannersville, with their ski slopes and chair lifts; beautiful North Lake State Park, with its two large swimming and boating lakes and spectacular vistas; and nearby dramatic
Haines Falls.

November through June: If the two days after a weekend are blocked, that does not mean that the guests staying the weekend could not extend their stay if they wanted to, or book into the days following the weekend from the get-go. The blocking is usually there so that new guests don't book before we have had time to clean.
During the summer and through October we are generally able to accommodate guests arriving right after the weekend.

The space

The space
The apt is beautifully furnished w/a fireplace, one bdrm with a very comfortable queen bed, a full bathroom with a tub and shower, a living/dining area and a separate full kitchen. There is a backyard area, dedicated for our guests with chaise lounge chairs, a table and umbrellas. The house is situated on a large stream with seating to relax and recharge. On site parking is available for up to two cars; bicycles are welcome. The apt is within a 5 minute walk into Woodstock, which offers great restaurants, entertainment, food markets, & laundry services.

The fireplace is available to use from

Use of the apt is restricted to 2 guests only; the guest who made the reservation must be registered with Airbnb and provide a photo ID. Please do not arrive with additional guests or they will be declined access.

Other things to note
48 hour advance notice is required for booking. Use of the apt is restricted to two adult guests only, who have registered with Airbnb. Please do not arrive with extra guests as they will be declined.

There is no tv available in the apt. We have WiFi for your laptop so if you have streaming services, those can be accessed.

We do not allow pets in order to accommodate people with pet allergies.

Smoking is not permitted indoors or on the grounds of the property.

There is a laundromat in town to do your laundry or drop off. They have a parking lot if you drive but we have a shopping cart if you'd like to walk.

We cannot provide a dishwasher in the kitchen. The only thing we ask of our guests at the end of their stay is that they clean all dishes, pots and pans etc. prior to check out. Everything can be left to dry in the dish drainer.

Our house has a full water filtration system plus we provide a Britta filter pitcher, so no need to buy bottled water.

For long term stays over two weeks, we do not provide additional supplies or cleaning services, with the exception that we will provide extra towels and linens.

There are 2 comfy pillows per person on the bed but we suggest you bring your own if you have any special neck or back issues. Additional pillows, blankets, sheets and towels are available.

The house is situated next to a stream with prohibited access, however, we have chairs to relax in with a view of the water from the top of the bank. We can recommend some local places for swimming.

The cleaning fee will be $150 for long term stays of one month or more.

Down an private drive off a country road the Red Apple Cottage is bordered by a grassy field, tall pines and a small babbling brook. From the parking area there is a bluestone lighted path that leads into the screened porch entry. The front door opens into the main Living/Dinning room with a freestanding gas fireplace, cathedral ceiling, skylights, wood beams and wood floors and wall mounted TV. Large LR picture window overlooks the wood deck and expansive flat lawn beyond with a hedgerow of forsythia for visual privacy. Seperate Eat in Kitchen with lots of cabinets, gas stove and breakfast bar. Both bedrooms are on the main level with built in cottage closets, dressers and lots of light in both bedrooms. The Bathroom is bright and cheerful with a antique claw foot soaking tub with shower and tile floor. Up a narrow staircase is a private space with a TV and comfy couch (which can be a single bed).The 2nd floor also has an loft area with a reading nook and work space with built in shelves.. The exterior wood deck has outdoor furniture, umbrella , gas grill and a hammock. Built in the early 1900's we have kept the cottage ambiance in tack and renovated with country modern and a little bit of antique for flavor. Local artist paintings pottery and touches throughout.

This is country living, there are animals and bugs although most are not harmful please report to us if you see any hives or nuisance animals (like skunks). Black Bears will smell your garbage so the main thing to note is NEVER leave garbage outside around the house or on the porch. You can only bring your garbage to the designated garbage pails by the end of the driveway the same day of pick up, not the night before. Secure the lid as best as you can. Clean your bottles and cans and double wrap your garbage before disposing it. If you are hiking or walking through the grass check your body thoroughly for deer ticks.

The space
Marko Grove is a Mid Century Modern Raised Ranch house on an oversized lot on a cul-de-sac in Woodstock’s Bearsville Flats neighborhood. Marko is one of only 6 houses on the quiet street. Originally built in 1963, the property was updated in 2022 / 2023 and furnished with classic MCM furniture and decoration. The house has 1900 square feet of living space and a 500 square foot two car Garage / Studio.

The main level of Mark Grove has an open plan Living Room with a fireplace with propane insert, Dining Area with a large picture window, and Kitchen with a small wooden deck and a stairway to the back yard. There are 2 Bedrooms with large closets and a full Bathroom with tub shower and a window overlooking the garden.

The lower level has 1 Bedroom with large closet, a full Bathroom with tub shower and a window, a Media Room with boathouse style woodworking and with sliding glass doors leading to a bluestone patio and the backyard, an Office/Bedroom with large closet and a Utility room with pantry and storage cabinets and stacked washer/dryer.

The heated two car Garage/Studio has skylights, windows and access to the Utility Room and the back yard by separate doors.
The house easily sleeps 6 people with an additional 2 temporary guests in the Media Room and 1 in the Office/Bedroom. There are two queen size beds and two twin beds, plus a queen size sofa bed and a twin couch.

Marko Grove is surrounded by gardens and bluestone paths. Perennial and annual flowers, bushes and mature trees make the property a private hideaway. The neighborhood is home to a herd of deer and a flock of wild turkeys, as well as various rabbits, squirrels, and local indoor / outdoor cats.

At the front of the house is a bluestone walkway lined with solar powered lights that leads from the asphalt driveway to the front door. Flanking the front door are wooden decks with Adirondack chairs and tables.
The front yard features mature trees, an oval garden with beautiful bushes, grasses and perennials, a young weeping willow on one side and a grove of Emerald Green Thuya trees on the other.

The huge back yard is bordered by woods and a ravine on the back and one side. A bluestone patio with resin wicker furniture and a propane grill is accessible via the Media Room’s sliding glass door. A charming garden shed with firewood rack is in the back yard.

Running along the back of the house is a raised garden with bluestone walls with a magnificent weeping Norway spruce and other plantings and sculpture. A bluestone path leads from the Media Room patio to the stone firepit at the center of a bluestone patio with Adirondack chairs and tables. A cascade with the meditative sounds of falling water and a pond made of river cobbles with seasonal water lilies and hyacinths and surrounded by bushes complete the wonderful setting. There are lights that illuminate the back yard trees and plants at night and create a magical landscape.

The space
We love to entertain - our kitchen is newly remodeled and well equipped.
Out the sliding doors from the kitchen, there's a large deck, with a charcoal grill and a dining table and chairs for 6 under a large shade. You can also relax in the hammock or on easy chairs around the property.

On a Sunday afternoon you may hear the sounds of the drum circle in the village but other than that, just the birds, frogs and cicadas. We've seen owls, eagles, woodpeckers and all kinds of warblers from our kitchen window, also deer, foxes, gangs of roving turkeys and an occasional bear, so don't leave food unattended outside!

There are trees to climb, corn hole, speedminton, croquet and other games to play and a big thinking rock. A short drive away will take you to fabulous spots to swim, hike and explore.

Our home is relaxed and easy going, lots of books, games, a TV and a DVD player with movies, Hulu, Max , Apple TV and a large record collection and turntable - the perfect escape from a busy week. Simple and cozy.

The space
This spacious home is well loved and well kept, and like most older homes, a tad rustic. Many of our furnishings are salvaged from film sets, thrift stores and local garage sales. We even have the complete kitchen set from The Americans as well as furnishings from a bunch of HBO shows and some Scorsese movies!

Please note the listing shows 5 Bedrooms however one of the bedrooms is primarily used as the sun room. But there is a full size bed and many friends have spent the night comfortably.

There is plenty of wildlife right outside the door, including a family of bunnies and often deer, bears, and coyote.

Environmental concerns are important to us and we have a strong recycling program, compost for food waste and a brand new efficient electric hot water heater.

The downstairs stays cool throughout the summer, and there are fans and and air conditioners in the upstairs bedrooms for those extra hot days and a newly added AC in the downstairs bedroom.

The house has a furnace for central heat and smart thermostats. There is also an electric space heater with remote control and thermostat just in case.

Please note that there is no central AC.

There is an outdoor propane bbq grill and a lovely patio area with a fire pit and fairy lights in the backyard as well as 2 wood burning stoves inside!

The house has excellent WiFi and cell reception. The upstairs bedroom has a TV with Roku (Netflix, HBO, Amazon, and Hulu). There are Sonos speakers in the living room and sunroom, a high end record player, and a karaoke machine for your impromptu dance parties!

The kitchen is well stocked with loads of utensils and basic cooking staples. Having stayed at a lot of Airbnb's myself, I understand the frustration of having to buy the basics, so I've got that covered. You'll find a French press and complimentary coffee and teas for your morning brew. The kitchen has a gorgeous and practical old farm sink, but please note that there is no dishwasher.

Woodstock's most famous swimming hole Little Deep is just 2 miles away, and Big Deep is 2.5 miles away. They're both pretty popular swimming holes, so please be respectful of the grounds if visiting and remember to carry out what you carry in.

For guests visiting during winter months, the house is located just 30 minutes from the slopes at Hunter Mountain and 45 minutes from Belleayre or Windham.

The house is dog-friendly to responsible pet owners. Pet friendly amenities including a dog bed, special furniture throw blankets, tick protection items, etc are available to you. If you have a dog, please inquire in advance of booking. Unfortunately I cannot host cats due to allergies but if you have exotic pets just ask :)

The town of Woodstock has most everything you'll need. Sunflower, the organic grocer, is right on the main road, and Bread Alone, for coffee, breakfast/lunch, and all kinds of treats, is a few blocks up.

If you're looking for a quiet country setting with easy access to Woodstock, Kingston, or Saugerties, this rental may be ideal for you.

The entire 1,200 square foot home is made available to you (see photos).. There is plenty of room to relax, cook your own meals or work in a peaceful setting, and we're close to hiking trails, theaters and over 30 restaurants. (see regional guidebook under info for guests)..

The space
We're located 4.5 miles from Woodstock, 8.5 miles from Uptown Kingston and 9 miles from Saugerties.

The 1,200sq ft home includes private entrance, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, full kitchen, laundry room, a large open-spaced dining/living room, and a common area with table/desk space. There's a wrap around deck with outdoor table and chairs. (see photos).

Guest access
The entire house is made available for the guests.

As the director of the Hudson Valley Film Commission, I am usually pretty busy and often away. You'll probably never see me, but I'm always happy to make referrals about local places.

The cabin in back of property is occupied by the host. My aim to give you privacy.

Other things to note
AIRBNB mentions that there is a shared space. They are referring to the common room on the 2nd floor which is part of the home. That space is NOT SHARED with anyone other than the guests.

We restrict rentals to two guests. Other general rules include no smoking, no parties, no pets, no kids, no additional guests, and no sublets.

THE GATE:
The entire property is fenced with a gate at the entry. Please close the gate to keep deer, bears and other large wildlife out. Parking spaces are on the left, under trees.

FRONT DOOR:
The front door to the house has a Schlage KEYPAD on the front door that gives you access. The code will be sent privately. Simply enter the combination and turn the knob counterclockwise. When out and about, please keep the front door and porch doors locked. To lock the door, push the Schlage button on top and turn the knob clockwise. A security camera is on the porch. If you hear a chime, it's the motion activated security camera.

When entering, you will find light switches by the front door. The light switch closest to the door is for the porch and is on a motion sensor. I will have that on if you are arriving late. The kitchen lights are on the kitchen island half wall.

If you can, please use slippers in the house. Shoes tend to drag in grass, mud, salt and snow, depending on the season. This can damage the oak and cherry hardwood floors.

KITCHEN:
The kitchen includes Calphalon pans, a KitchenAid Standup Mixer (for those who like baking), an electric stovetop/oven, a microwave, Cuisinart drip coffee machine, toaster, and more. We try to stock basic sundries including olive oil, coffee, mint from the garden, and a few other staples. The coffee machine has a brass filter that can be cleaned and re-used. There’s no need for other coffee filters.

FOOD
For food, there are several markets within 5 miles including Sunflower Natural Foods (4.3 miles away) - 75 Mill Hill Rd, Woodstock; Woodstock Meats (4.4 miles away) - 57 Mill Hill Rd, Woodstock; Hannaford Supermarket (4.2 miles away) - 295 State Route 375, West Hurley; and there are over 30 restaurants in the region.

GARBAGE & RECYCLING:
There is a garbage container under the sink and one in the washer/dryer hall closet area. If bags get full, there’s a big GREEN garbage container next to the shed. We make every effort to recycle plastic bottles & containers, glass, cardboard, paper and tin. In addition to the bin in the house, there's a gray can for recycling near the shed.

INTERNET, WIFI & TV
The username & password will be provided. Internet is generally very strong and stable.

The television is hooked up to AMAZON FIRE which will give you access to Netflix, Amazon Prime and other streaming services. You will need to enter your username and password to access specific options. We also have a Blue ray player and some movies and TV shows as an entertainment option. There are also some books and games in the living room cabinet (Monopoly, Backgammon, Battleship…)

Last time I checked, the speed for the Internet was 342 mbps download and 9.38 mbps upload. I rely on the Internet to work. Internet and power outages are a rare nuisance, which we regretfully cannot control. Storms and other climate issues have been on the rise. In 2022, we lost electricity, heat, and the Internet for a total of 64 hours due to an ice storm. If WIFI is critical to you, we recommend you bring a MIFI Hotspot.

STAIRS
If you using the upstairs, please watch out for the wide step on second landing. It sometimes surprises people because it is wider, so be safe. To turn the overhead light off from upstairs, please use the remote at top of stairs.

BEDDING & TOWELS:
The beds are prepared with freshly washed linens, and clean towels are laid out for your use. There are additional sheets and blankets if needed. Please leave bedding and towels in place when leaving. Do not leave bedding or towels on the floor.

THE SHOWER
In order to get cold water in the shower, move the shower control further to the left.

HEAT & COOLING
The heat in the house is propane and electric. The propane unit is in the corner of the living area. The thermostat for the living room is at the base of the stairs. To set the temperature, push the hold button and use the arrows on the right to lower or increase temps. The downstairs bedroom has its own thermostat with a dial that can be turned to desired temperature. The upstairs bedroom also has a dial thermostat. There are also thermostats in the kitchen under the sink cabinet and in the bathroom. If you go out for the day, please lower the temperature. In the corner of the living room, there is a propane heating unit, which works nicely.

SUMMER NOTES
FANS & A/C
There's a ceiling fan in master bedroom downstairs and in the main living area. There are additional fans if needed and a portable air conditioner in the upstairs bedroom. It's rarely needed but there in case of heat waves to make sleeping more comfortable.

FIREPLACE:
I worry when people use the fireplace, but understand the attraction. PLEASE make sure the flue is open and never leave the house with a fire going. I try to make sure the flue is open, but you can check by taking a photo up the chimney. There’s a fire extinguisher on the kitchen counter, in case of emergencies. There’s also a Nest fire alarm upstairs that will go off if smoke is detected. Firewood is available at many gas stations and stores. If you want to use wood from premises, please consider leaving a few dollars to help cover costs. A chord of wood (200 pieces) costs around $300.

POOL:
The above ground pool in the backyard is unheated and treated with salt. It has seen better days, and is not luxurious, but it can provide a nice opportunity to cool off during summertime. The host does his best to open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. I make every effort to maintain the pool and use the pool for a daily swim. To access the pool, use the ladder. It is a bit flimsy, so watch your step. Also, please do not carry anything sharp around the vinyl liner, as it can easily be punctured.

BBQ:
There’s a small charcoal barbecue on the grass next to the porch, which is available for guests. To light charcoal, we also have a BBQ chimney on the front porch. We don't provide charcoal. Flip the chimney over and push some scrunched up newspaper into the bottom. Remove the top rack from your charcoal grill and set the chimney right side up on the lower rack. Light the paper by sticking matches through the vents in several spots, and let the fire burn until the coals are covered with white ash. Turn charcoal over, replace the top rack and cook. Please keep BBQ on grass away from wood deck.

OTHER NOTES:
For extended stays of five days or more, we do not restock toilet paper, or other sundries, and we do not provide additional cleaning services. There is a vacuum in the bedroom closet, a Swiffer for dust, mop, broom and other cleaning supplies.

Please do not leave food lying around as that may attract ants and critters. Ant traps are set out and there are peppermint sachets left around the house to deter critters. There are spiders, snakes, visiting chickens, mosquitos, critters and more. Please always check yourself for ticks when out for walks.

There's a kitchenette with a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker & tea kettle which is stocked for DIY morning coffee & tea. A private bluestone patio is right outside your door with charcoal grill, lounge chairs and fire pit. Have a cookout or just relax by the fire with a glass of wine. The kitchenette is stocked with all the basics for self catering; plates, bowls, glasses, mugs, utensils, napkins, cutting board, knives, etc.

The clean, modern bathroom has a full tub, soap, shampoo, conditioner, towels, hair dryer and clothes iron. We aim to make it easy for you to just pack a bag and get away!

The space

The space
The studio is located in a quiet residential area. Perfect for peaceful solo retreats or a getaway with a friend or loved one. Upon arrival, guests have their own paved pathway which leads to their private entrance. The bedroom/living room includes a queen bed, sitting area with pull out sofa, wall mounted smart tv and bluetooth sound system. The bathroom has a tile stall shower with toiletries provided. The "kitchen" area is equipped with a sink, refrigerator, toaster, kettle, Keurig coffee maker and microwave. Dishes, flatware & glasses and tea & coffee are provided as well. Guests have full access to the washer/dryer. All bed linens and towels are provided. The studio also has its own thermostat for heat and a window a/c unit in the summer.

Guest access
Guests have access to the backyard, which in the warm weather is situated with a small outdoor table and chairs.

Other things to note
Although the studio suite is part of the house, it is quite private. Guests may come and go as they please and if so desired, will be left completely to themselves.

Breathe in the mountain air and instantly relax in this 4 bed, 2.5 bath, 2000 sq ft modern cabin located 1400 ft above Woodstock, NY. Enjoy morning coffee or sunset cocktails on the wrap-around deck or in front of the wood burning fireplace. The 3-story, renovated house is airy, bright and filled with sunlight and views of Woodstock and the valley below. Nestled in the woods, you can observe the local birds and wildlife or roast marshmallows at the fire pit in the deer-fenced garden.

The space
You enter onto the main floor (2nd floor)which has deck access, living room, kitchen, dining room and the half bath and washer and dryer. There is a touch down desk in the den/dining room.

Upstairs on the top floor (3rd floor) you will find the three bedrooms (king, queen, queen) and a full bath. This floor also has a landing that has a desk for work from home.

The bottom floor (1st floor) has a room with a queen sized sofa bed as well as an attached full bathroom. There is a sliding glass door for this room. There is a storage room and the boiler room on this floor as well. There is a ground level entrance to the storage room too.

The deck is attached to the 2nd floor and has the grill, dining and sofa and chairs. The cushions are stored on the deck near the bbq. There is a gate that can be shut to keep children and dogs on the deck. We also have a magnetic screen that a dog can use to exit onto the deck if the sliding glass door is open.

The deer fenced yard is nearby, accessible from the parking area. There are stairs down to the fire pit.

Other things to note
We live on a mountain and access to our house is via a private road with a steep hill. My husband plows, but even with plowing, you will need 4 wheel drive and/or snow tires if it snows. Our hill is steep.

There is a washer and dryer in the basement. CAVEAT: The basement ceiling is low (this is an older home) so doing laundry must be done with careful steps to ensure your safety and the safety of other guests.

There is a fenced in backyard right behind the home that includes a brand new grill, fire pit, and patio for your enjoyment. Exclusive parking is available right behind the fence with a convenient walkway through the backyard leading you to the back door. Beyond the fence and the parking spot, there is a peaceful creek where you will find adult size and kids size picnic tables for you to enjoy an outdoor meal or just relax.

The property sits on the historic Woodstock Golf Club grounds, overlooking the iconic 9-hole private golf course, clubhouse, and (onsite) restaurant & bar, Millstream Tavern. The space
The rental sits on the iconic Woodstock Golf Club property, in a historic building that also houses the men’s lounge. The men’s lounge includes additional facilities such as toilets and laundry, but can only be accessed after hours.
Parking is available onsite, up to 2 cars. Additional parking is available within the course’s parking lot, which is an easy walk to the rental.
The rental serves up to 6 people comfortably. Parties larger than 6 are not allowed.
Advise, the rental sits on an active golf course where members are onsite during the day and maintenance employees servicing the course may use equipment, such as mowers, in the morning which can be faintly heard in the unit.
Please note, there are stairs upon entry leading to the rental on the second floor. Advise if have young children or guests unable to handle stairs well.
There is a washer and dryer in the building (located downstairs in the men’s lounge) which is only available to week+ long term renters.

It is one large room with vaulted ceilings and a wonderful large north facing window, plush king size bed, hardwood floors, and a kitchenette space. The apartment has plenty of room for a couple looking for a quiet getaway, walkable to all that Woodstock has to offer.

The space
Woodstock is a great town as there's always something to do all year long. On weekends in the summer, the Woodstock Flea Market is located right across the alley from the apartment. On Wednesdays, the farmer's market is around the corner. All the good restaurants are within a short walk.

We will provide Wifi and there is a work desk if you need. The dining table seats 4.

No basic cable TV. There is Apple TV connected to a 42 inch flat screen. Watch Netflix, HBO, Showtime, etc. from your own account. Very Good Free WiFi connection.
