Our home is in New Paltz on 2.2 acres, 1 mile from town, close to numerous walking and biking trails. Rock climbing is extraordinary at the GUNKS - just 20 minutes away. NP is a friendly family town with restaurants, shops, and plenty of nearby farmers markets showcasing the produce of the valley's rich soil.
Our solarium room will keep you dry from occasional storms while you are surrounded by the sounds of nature.
The space
Our home has a lot of light! On the first floor there is a very large well equipped kitchen with a table for 6 and a separate dining room. The living room has a vaulted ceiling, 2 skylights, ceiling fan and gas insert fireplace. You will also find a newly remodeled full bathroom, a tv/den room with pullout sofa and a solarium leading onto a large deck.

On the 2nd floor are 3 bedrooms. The main bedroom has an en suite bathroom and the other 2 bedrooms are adjacent to a bathroom with a shower/tub and 2 sinks.

On the deck you will find a new Weber, table and chairs and lounging chairs.
The back lawn is excellent for kids to play outside, throw balls and run around.

Our vegetable garden will be producing greens and lettuces and PLEASE feel free to harvest and enjoy.

Set on a quiet dead end road not far from Rt 209 and 44/55, this home is convenient to Ellenville, New Paltz, Stone Ridge and Kingston. There's plenty to do in the area, but if you want to stay on the 1 acre property, we've made sure there's enough to keep you busy outdoors and in. Relax on the super sized deck or roast s'mores in the fire pit. The property is dog friendly and fully fenced in. We have two TVs for streaming or DVD, WiFi, CDs, board games and books. Sit by the propane stove and stay cozy!

The entire 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home is yours. Enter through the open living room/kitchen area. There's a bedroom and full brand new bathroom on the first floor up a couple of steps. A small den is also on this level, with a second TV and library.

There are two more large bedrooms upstairs. The King sized bed ensuite has a desk for our writer and working guests. The queen sized bedroom is probably the largest, and here you can hang out and play chess at the table. This shares a bathroom with the master bedroom.

Views of the Catskills and a long list of outdoor activities right in the backyard: climbing, fishing, hiking, swimming, skiing, snowboarding, snow shoeing, etc. And if you just want to stay at home you can relax in the hot tub, hang out on the deck or by the fireplace.

Up to 2 dogs are allowed for your stay, but we do charge a fee given additional cleaning and maintenance on the home.

Only 2 hours from NYC, Casa Minnewaska is a bright 3BR house with wraparound deck sitting on 5 acres of gorgeous green property. Our house is perfect for any weekend getaway or vacation with family and friends. You can walk through our backyard straight into Minnewaska State Park, home to hundreds of trails for hiking and some of the best climbing in the northeast. Two floors, 3 bedrooms—downstairs we have a full kitchen (and dishwasher!) and living room with Sonos speakers and a working woodstove.The bedroom downstairs has 2 full-size beds and two bedrooms upstairs—one with a queen and the other with king with ensuite bathroom and private balcony. Guests will find the home stocked with all the necessary amenities including towels, linens, and kitchen basics as well as toiletries. Forget something? Wal-Mart is 5 minutes away and you have quick access to a number of restaurants in Kerhonkson, Accord, High Falls, Stone Ridge, and Rosendale. New Paltz is just 25 minutes away.

There is excellent cell phone service throughout the entire property.

Casa Minnewaska is on the border of 22,000 acres of untouched wilderness. Climbing, fishing, hiking, swimming, and skiing are all practically on the doorstep. The house is secluded on a backroad, but not far by car from New Paltz and Kingston.

Just 2 hours from New York City. A car is highly recommended. There is a bus from NYC Port Authority Pine Hill Trailways running about once an hour, $40 per person round trip to New Paltz. From there you can take a taxi, which would be about $25 each way. This is great for friends who do not have a car.

Note: All Holiday weekends require a 3-night minimum to book. Due to higher demand and costs, we are unable to accommodate the shorter stay on these dates.

Please enter the house through the side door near the hot tub. The door needs to be all the way shut for the code to work and the deadbolt to open or lock the door. Press the lock button to lock the door. A key for the front door deadbolt will be accessible in the house. Please always return the key to its original location.

HOT TUB
Throw in 1 oz of the "Spa Shock Oxidizer" 15 minutes before use. Both the chemicals and measuring cup are on the window sill in the laundry room.
-Please do not sit on the hot tub lid.
-Please shower before using the tub
-No glass in the hot tub—there are plastic
glasses in the kitchen, please use those.
-When you are not using the hot tub,

MUSIC
Download the Sonos App to play music in the living room or on the deck through the outdoor speakers. Spotify is a little buggy with Sonos, but all other streaming works well. Please try and keep the volume down if you are playing music outdoors late at night.

TRASH
Please bring all trash down to the big WM bin at the bottom of the driveway near the main street. The trash bin stays locked - the code is 2345 to open the lock. Please be very careful handling the lock so it does not fall in to the bin. Always close the lock so that the panels of the bin don't slide open. We are allotted a limited amount of trash a week at our local transfer station, and will charge a $50 trash overage fee if additional trash is left.

COUCH
The couch in the living room pulls out into a full sized bed. Sheets are under the Chaise. Please strip the bed if you use it and leave sheets on the couch.

FIRE PIT & WOOD STOVE
Please never leave burning or smoldering logs unsupervised inside the house. Pour water on the fire pit outside after use until the fire is completely out.

BBQ GRILL
We can't guarantee there will be propane in the tank, but feel free to fill it up at the cloest gas station. Please confirm the propane valve is turned off after use.

PETS
Pets must be pre-approved before. Any damage will be the renter's full responsibility. Bringing a pet without prior approval will result in a loss of your security deposit.

SAFETY OUTSIDE
Always check for ticks at the end of each day after spending time in the woods—this is really important. Keep a lookout for poison ivy when hiking.

INFANTS
Please be advised the house is not Infant-proof. If you do bring an infant, please be very careful and always keep an eye on them.

TOWELS
Wash all the towels you use at the end of your stay. You can wash them with a little bit of detergent in the wash room under the “normal” setting.

BEDS
Strip only the beds you used and leave sheets next to the beds on the floor. This includes the pull out couch.

DISHES
Put dirty dishes in the dishwasher and run the wash.

TRASH
Leave full bins in the basement and take extra trash with you.

KEYS
If you used the keys, put them safely back in their original position. We charge $50 for re-keying all locks if keys are not returned the same day as check out.

LAST ITEMS
Please make sure the AC / heating units are off and the remote is in the original location. Please make sure fans are off, lights are off, and that you lock all doors of the house.

The two units at Cedar Nest Bungalows are a completely newly renovated, all the way to the studs, 1930's getaway just a mile from the heart of New Paltz village. The one bedroom unit features a memory foam queen bed, granite kitchen with seating for 2 indoors and a deck with outdoor accommodations. Rainshower head and radiant-heated floor add coziness to the bathroom. There is a comfortable leather couch in the living room area. Heating and AC keep the space comfortable year round. The Bungalows are a mile from the heart of New Paltz village, which is full of great dining, shopping, SUNY New Paltz, complete with its own art gallery/museum and so much more. A quick 10-15 minutes will get you to world-class hiking, rock climbing, mountain swimming in glacial lakes and scenic drives along the Shawanagunk Ridge, including Minnewaska State Park, the Mohonk Preserve, Mohonk Mountain House, Sam's Point & more. Historic Huguenot Street, the oldest street in America, is right down the road and exploring its settlements and cemetery make for a fascinating day.

We are also 10 minutes south of Rosendale and a short drive further to the hamlet of High Falls. Both have excellent historical sites, dining, walking trails and swimming. The Widow Jane Mine in Rosendale is an exciting and unique trip a few minutes away into the past when it was a major source of cement for the building of many famous NYC landmarks. Visitors today explore its remains and it holds occasional events such as concerts and art installations.

The house is also about a 10 minute walk to the Wildlife sanctuary on Huguenot Street, where herons, swans, muskrats, hawks and bluebirds abound. World-class birding can also be found in nearby Wallkill, where the Shawanagunk Grasslands NWR hosts hundreds of species, including migrating owls. Majestic hawks soar over this lovely area and deer, fox, rabbits, and even bears are prevalent in the woods.

First, I have to say that Ami is a very helpful and responsive host! Never had to wait long for a response and the responses were always friendly and detailed.
Second, the jacuzzi and the sauna and the beautiful view over the valley and to the mountain are absolutely the reason to go here. Awesome and so soothing and peaceful. Beautiful! We didn't have a chance to do any hiking unfortunately as we had to cut our trip short due to a family emergency, but hope to come again soon.

The most memorable were the views of nature, such as mountains, trees with a variety of birds (red cardinals, ducks, tree sparrows and many others) as well as the hot tub from where you can either watch the birds, the stars or just enjoy the peacefulness.
As per the description, we were greeted with fresh oranges and a homemade kombucha, which is the best one we ever had.
Another highlight is the infrared sauna. After spending 2.5 days, we were recharged and we definitely would like to be back!

My partner and I wanted to have a short getaway to enjoy some peace and the beauty of Autumn in New York. We're very happy we got to stay here. As soon as we drove up to the driveway we felt comforted by the greenery of the front yard, and the view from the back porch was spectacular. The studio itself had a warmth we felt immediately upon entering. The lighting, the furniture, the scents, and the cleanliness was all so welcoming. Ami goes above and beyond with providing delicious kombucha, fruits for fresh juice, and plenty of other snacks. There are also free day passes to Mohonk Preserve, which is just a few minutes' drive away, and we enjoyed a beautiful hike there. The town of New Paltz was also very convenient for us to get the groceries we needed for our stay. We were able to meet Ami before checking out; he was friendly and warm, and we certainly wished we could have stayed for another day or two. We highly recommend Ami's place for anyone looking to stay in the area!

It's an easy and pleasurable one mile stroll to downtown New Paltz on country road or rail trail.

If you’re traveling from NYC without a car, you can take the Adirondack Trailways bus to New Paltz from the Port Authority Terminal. Once in New Paltz you can either walk (about 1 mile) or take taxi ($5) to the house.

The Water Street Market and the rest of New Paltz cafes, shops, and organic vegetable farms are a 20-30 minute walk and even faster bike ride from this spacious and peaceful apartment on a most desirable country road frequented by walkers, joggers, and cyclists.

By car, you will be 5-15 minutes from the Mohonk Preserve, Mohonk Mountain House, and Minnewaska State Park.

But leave the car behind as you bicycle (bikes available for your use) the Walkill Valley Rail Trail north to the quaint village of Rosendale, south to the bucolic village of Gardiner, or head west to the Mohonk Preserve bicycle and walking paths.

The Sweet Suite is a private 1 bedroom with master bathroom ensuite, a lofty open living area amply equipped and handsomely appointed for your comfort. Gardiner continually amazes from season to season for outdoor enthusiasts; the Sweet Suite is near all--Skydive Ranch, Mohonk Mtn House & Preserve, Minnewaska State Park, Auberge Wild Flower Resort, New Paltz Main Street & Water Street Mkt, Tuthilltown Distillery & Farmers Mkt, & Rail Trail.

The space
Over 1500 sq ft, open floor plan includes entry, living and table top work area, kitchenette with sink and small frig/freezer, cooking appliances, and comfortable sofa and chairs. The bedroom is a master suite: spacious closet, queen size poster bed, full shower, toilet, and pedestal sink. Across open beam ceiling there are three skylights, double glass doors to the terrace, and a large window in each bedroom and bathroom, as well as the entry landing at the top of the staircase. The suite can only be accessed from the staircase, which leads outside through the green exterior door. The suite sits above a three car garage that is seldomly accessed by the owners during your stay. The terrace overlooks the main house, a Dutch story and a half farmhouse built for Benjamin Bogardus Van Keuren in 1819. Remnants of a smokehouse on this property are on the National Historic Register.

The Sweet Suite has a forced air heating and air conditioning system and is controlled by a thermostat inside. The shower was recently upgraded, 36” x 57” with a single shower head a great water pressure.

The Wi-Fi is shared with the main house and signal strength is strong and fast; video conferencing is easily done if guests are working remotely from the suite.

Guests have access to the entire suite, the garage area below and outbuildings are not permitted for guests to enter. Guests may roam our property—gardens, woodland, rock bar area, at their leisure. This is country property and some areas are not level and there is wildlife living here, as well—foxes, owls, birds, skunks, fireflies, hawks, toads, squirrels, chipmunks, cats… occasionally a roving black bear! For this reason, we ask guests to leave their garbage INSIDE at the bottom of the stairs and we will collect it. We haven’t seen the bear since 2021 FYI.

The Sweet Suite is situated in a residential area. The hamlet of Gardiner is less than three miles away, there you can access the rail trail, two cafes, wine & liquor store, and a pizzeria. Venture out approximately twelve miles to the vibrant village of New Paltz, or up to the Shawangunk “Gunks” Ridge to hike, bike, climb, swim, or cross country ski. An automobile is recommended to reach these destinations.

You will be staying in the INDIGO ROOM - which has a shared bathroom and is in the North side of the house - offering sunshine in the mornings and quiet during your stay.

As our guest, you are welcome and encouraged to relax indoors or outdoors in our gathering spaces : by the fire indoor/outdoor seasonally, relax within the yoga and meditation wellness room, and enjoy a plant based kitchen for shared meals.

As a guest here - you gifted daily morning yoga at 6 am REQUIRED + opportunity to deepen your awareness or take time to study the philosophies of Yoga and the 5 elements with workshop-style activities you can practice with Sara + Drew , or on your own.

There is plenty of time to be left to your own devices - while still keeping in mind the purpose of the Hart house - is to deepen, reflect, and grow oneself... lets come together and motivate one another to be disciplined and flexible to change and grow and be strong as well!

Sara Artist Yogi Hart has been teaching Yoga + Meditation since 2010 and has been practicing yoga and living in a plant-based lifestyle since 1997. Sara is a strict teacher and a kind host - Hatha Yoga is the main style of yoga presented from all levels of beginner to advanced. Sara also creates fine art photography and mixed media woods sculptures.

Drew is an audio professional, sound therapist and shamanic practitioner. Drew is also thankful to be certified in sound healing & reiki services.

Together we offer workshops and immersions utilizing the science of sound as a tool to balance mind, body and spirit along with body movement and breath awareness.
