- "This cute and cozy apartment was in an excellent location. We were the first guest to stay here and we had a few concerns: the chairs in the kitchen were broken as was a door frame. The command hooks fell off the several times. There was no place to hang clothes and shelves which held the dishes were dirty and dusty as well as appliances. Some coffee and Kleenex would have a nice. The place has the potential to be amazing with a little more attention to details. We have stayed in many, many VRBO and were surprised this was rated as a premium host/ place. Having said all that, we would stay again b/c of the location and it was really cute, not cluttered. "

Bright and airy, cathedral ceiling, Post & Beam home situated in the heart of the Berkshires, minutes from Lenox, Tanglewood, Stockbridge, Jacob’s Pillow, Mount Greylock, Rail to Trails, October Mountain, the Appalachian Trail, 5 different ski mountains, Great Barrington, antiquing and shopping, and the world’s best sweets at Peace, Love & Chocolate. Three minutes to Lee town center, 6 minutes to the Lee outlets, and 7 minutes to both Stockbridge and Lenox. With 4 bedrooms and a Bunk Room, the house can sleep 12 people in beds, and 14 including a pullout sofa bed.

Description
From the moment you walk in to a wall of westerly facing windows full of afternoon sun and a Great Room with a 32ft ceiling, it is relax time. Comfortably furnished and well appointed with all the touches of home, you have multiple ways to relax indoors or out. You can flop down on either of the overstuffed club chairs or couch and put your feet up on an ottoman, go upstairs to the balcony and curl up with a book, retreat to your bedroom and take a nap on a firm but plush mattress, sit on the deck and watch as the sun dips into the trees, or bird watch at one of the feeders.

First floor:
The entire 1st floor is an open floor plan designed for family living and friend getaways, entertaining and free flow of movement. There is streaming natural light with a West-facing Great Room and dining area, hardwood floors in all the common areas and hallways, a floor-to-ceiling fireplace, and a walk thru kitchen with stainless steel Bosch and Frigidaire appliances, gas range and granite countertops. The dining area has a large farm table that seats 10 very comfortably (with 12 total spindle-back chairs, for extra guests) and a breakfast bar that has three swivel stools. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor: a bunk room with 2 solid-wood, sturdy, twin bunk beds that sleep 4 (kids much more comfortably but absolutely can fit adults); and a queen room with a sleigh bed and a dressing table (made by Chip’s grandfather). These bedrooms share a large full bathroom and there is a powder room down the hall. All of the bedrooms are carpeted.
Second floor:
When you climb the extra-wide staircase to the 2nd floor, you are treated to a view overlooking the first floor, the soaring timber ceilings and a loft-style common area. You can relax on the sofa or in an overstuffed beanbag, challenge your housemate to a game of foosball on our full size table, listen to music via Alexa on Harmon Kardon speakers, or choose from any variety of puzzles and boardgames. On the north side of the house are two spacious bedrooms with a full bath between them. One bedroom has a queen sleigh bed with a west facing view over the large deck and backyard, and a true old-fashioned wicker rocking chair. The second bedroom has two twin beds with an easterly exposure looking out over the wildflower garden. On the entire South side of the house on the second floor is the master suite. This is a breathtaking room with a cathedral ceiling, a cozy sitting area furnished with club chairs and settee, an ensuite bathroom with double sinks and a gorgeous claw foot tub, and a walk in closet with plenty of space.

Amenities and Decor:
The house is well appointed throughout, with a mixture of mid- and late-19th century antiques and contemporary furniture. Behind the closed panels next to the fireplace you will find a 55” 4K SmartTV, fully equipped with cable, 4K Apple TV, Netflix, Hulu, Max and AmazonPrime video. The kitchen and pantry have everything you need to make a dinner for 2 or 12, from spices and baking needs to blenders and serving platters. Additional amenities include: Pillow-top mattresses, down-alternative comforters, pillows, 100% cotton sheets and duvets (flannel for winter!), hair dryers, towels, washer/dryer, dishwasher, Braun coffee brewer, coffee press, Keurig coffee maker, toaster oven, food processor, pots, pans, slow cooker, blender, baking and serving dishes, knives and utensils. The basement also has a Peloton, a rower and space for the kids to watch TV and play games. Basic spices and baking ingredients are available, as well as condiments (tho many prefer to buy their own). Iron/Ironing board; mudroom; 400mbs wi-fi for multiple workers to stream simultaneously, smart TV, Alexa and speakers; apple TV, foosball; board games.

Property: 2+ acres, well set back from the road, huge yard and back deck to play, grill, or sit around a fire pit. 12 Adirondack chairs, 4 loungers for sunbathing, organic vegetable garden for use of fresh produce — we trade free veggies for weeding and watering. :-)

For Spring, Summer and Fall: 5 mins to laurel lake, 15 mins to the Appalachian Trail access, Hiking, fishing, biking, water sports, golfing and other outdoor activities abound! 10 minutes to Tanglewood and Berkshire Theater Company, less than 10 minutes to Lee, Lenox and Stockbridge for antiquing, fabulous dining, and more New England charm.

For the diehard skier, we are a 15 minutes from Butternut and Bosquet, 20 minutes to Otis Ridge (nighttime skiing!), 30 minutes from Catamount and 40mins from Jiminy Peak. In one 3-night stay, you could ski 5 mountains! There is also plenty of wide open space nearby to cross country ski and snowshoe, for those intrepid explorers.

A 1/4 mile driveway takes you to a private vacation home on its own (2.5 acre) lake. A sophisticated aeration system runs 24/7, and keeps this one of the healthiest swimming holes in the Berkshires! The loudest sound is the water running out of the lake into the stream that empties into the Housatonic.

The setting is gorgeous with a 5 person hot tub built into a large deck overlooking the water.

The space:

A large great room with a stacked stone fireplace is the center of activity. The house is 2500 sq ft, featuring 3 bedrooms, 3 full baths, and a large sun-room with a (brand new!) sofa bed with memory foam mattress for extra company.

Totally open floor plan downstairs, you have a kitchen and dining area open to the Great Room, with a cathedral ceiling all overlooking the water.

Outside is a large wrap around deck with a hot tub built into the deck. At night, you can take a wonderful soak while studying a sky that is filled with stars.

There is also a fire pit to make s'mores, and plenty of open area behind and in front of the house for activities. There is a ping pong table in the back as well.

The house sits on 36 private acres, with hiking, swimming and fishing as some possible activities. Across the road is a park that has additional hiking trails. And all this is in the heart of the Berkshires, less than 5 minutes from downtown Stockbridge and Lee and less than 10 to Lenox, and just over 10 minutes from Great Barrington. But TOTAL privacy!

The Massachusetts Turnpike is 5 minutes away. Driving time to Boston is 2 hours, and New York City is 2.5 hours.

Summer:
We are 10 min to tanglewood, Shakespeare and Co, the Norman Rockwell Museum and 15 min to Jacobs pillow. A short drive (per above) to all the other wonders of the Lee/Lenox/Stockbridge/Great Barrington area!

Winter:
In the winter there is a huge sledding hill on our property right behind the house. We are 15 min drive to the awesome Butternut and Bousquet Ski Areas and 30 min to Catamount.

My home is a sweet, cozy, private, and very clean farmhouse style Cape in the safe, and quiet neighborhood of Abbey Court in the foothills of October Mountain in the beautiful Berkshire Town of Lee closely bordering Lenox. Actually just a stone’s throw from Stockbridge and Lenox! Conveniently close to the highway, but off the beaten path. A great place to work from home and getaway simultaneously in a peaceful setting. A bird watcher’s delight, because a lot of them congregate in my yard. Enjoy the view from the kitchen window.

Fig and Goat Salad!, or the hottest Buffalo Chicken pizza on the planet!), Morgan House (my choice is the Salmonnnnnn....), Timothy's (known for their pizzas, but my favorite dish is their shrimp salad!), Salmon Run (I’m all about the salmon), the famous Joe’s Diner (casual dining), Agave's Mexican Grill, Burmese Bowl offering Asian cuisine and sushi, and more, like Rose's Restaurant (new owners offering a swanky new breakfast/lunch menu), ice cream at Lucky’s (summertime treat)! Just two streets away from fabulous antique and apparel shopping - Main Street and/or the Lee Premium Outlets. Also noteworthy, Berkshire Mountain Bakery is a little bit of a drive in the sleepy little town of Housatonic, but worth the trip for takeout and take home to bake pizzas (I can give you directions for what is one of my favorite scenic routes to get there). Just a short 15-20 minute drive to Hilltop Orchard and Furnace Brook Winery in Richmond for cider donuts (for the kids!) and wine (for the adults!). I also highly recommend the very popular Fratelli’s in Otis for a delicious meal on Main Street in Otis (takeout might only be offered at this time), a short drive from my home, but worth it. Exciting news. If you’re looking for iconic and eclectic, the Dream Away Lodge is open again and very close by in Becket. It’s a big deal and really fun.

The Town of Lee is an easy and manageable size town to navigate. It’s unique and has so much to offer, with sweet downtown shopping and dining, as well outlet shopping close to the Mass Pike.

My home is nestled in the foothills of October Mountain where there’s hiking and rumors over the years of being haunted or at least inhabited by ghosts. The legendary resident ghosts include the mysterious 10 year old Anna Pease, Secretary of Navy under President Grover Cleveland William Whitney and uniformed soldiers from the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. You’ll need to google it, because that’s as much as I want to know and research on that subject! My favorite part of hiking October Mountain is bringing a picnic lunch to Felton Pond.

The Lee Farmer’s Market is a great way to start your Saturdays here in the summer and fall. There’s a lot going on there in a small space on the town green with locally handcrafted items. Live music is in the background to entertain you as you nibble on tasty treats and shop for perfect plants, soap, jewelry, and more

For a splash of color, there is artwork is on display at Good Purpose Gallery on 40 Main Street in Lee. Local artists are featured in exhibits daily from 10-4, closed Tuesdays. You can check out current artist’s featured lists and exhibits online for more details. The garden grounds at nearby Berkshire Botanical Garden are open seasonally and often there's a sweet exhibit in Leonhardt Galleries and weekend classes.

More about my home: Small and yet spacious. Continually updating accommodations for a pleasant and calming home away from home rental experience. Cozy kitchen with a wall hung electric heater and manual dial to make the living room and kitchen instantly toasty on those chilly Berkshire mornings and nights. Three bedrooms (one is very bright and sunny with a skylight; one can be made to be very dark and; one with a combination of lightness/darkness - each bedroom can suit any sleeping and ambiance preference!) and they all have windows to let in natural light. A bright, sunny, and quiet office space if you need to get some work done away from the hustle and bustle, but also, just the right size to spread out your mat to meditate or practice yoga if you want a quiet space with a large, comfortable area rug to stretch on! Large screen TV (4 feet wide, 3 feet high) with fabulous picture quality and a Netflix app in the living room. Relaxing back stone patio with a outdoor gas grill for comfortable outdoor dining along with a portable outdoor fire pit for making s’mores. Peaceful backyard in the morning with active, chirping birds and even more peaceful in the early evening when the birds are going to bed and they’re a little quieter. The birds are busy flitting around in the backyard, especially cardinals, and can be seen investigating the little compost bin behind the garage camouflaged within the ever-expanding pollinator garden looking for fruit scraps and eggshells. The comfortable and cushioned dining table and chair set is still on the patio for some relaxing breakfast, lunch or dinners because it’s warming up out there. It's just what you need to relax while you visit the Berkshires, whether you want to get out for an adventure or prefer to spend a quiet night in the privacy of your home away from home.

Note: Since the start of the covid-19 pandemic, I have closely followed and adhered to any limitations on short term rentals such as mine as outlined by the Town of Lee Board of Health and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. I appreciate your understanding as we all work together to be safe. I make every effort to not only thoroughly clean, but I also offer contactless check-in to every guest. You’ll receive a personal door code and notes about the home with all the important details prior to your arrival, such as the WiFi password and the best ways to reach me during your stay.

I am thoroughly dedicated and focused on providing a clean home for your stay with extra time blocked off between guests who stay at or enter my home (including me) to air it out before you arrive. In addition, the local supermarkets have shopping open to Seniors one hour before the general public to avoid crowds and potential exposure.

I would like to add that my neighborhood is very safe for walking and bicycling, but I would also be happy to provide you with a customized list of very lovely areas for walking and cycling during your stay.

This is a completely renovated 5 bedrooms and 3 baths house that is situated on a private street, 5 min drive to either Lee center or Lenox center.
The main floor has an open layout that is full of light. The gourmet kitchen is fitted with top appliances and a Blue Star gas range. The main floor also has four bedrooms and two full bathrooms.
The lower level has a a family room with a pool table, another bedroom, a full bathroom and the laundry/mudroom.

Our house is situated on a private street where all the houses are beautifully maintained. Family friendly and incredibly quiet.
The house is also very close to Lee and Lenox, 2 very quaint and charming towns that are full of nice restaurants, coffee shops, diners, antique shops, fashion boutiques and art galleries.
Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, Shakespeare and company,
Kripalu Yoga Center and Spa are all just 10 min away.
During winter time, Bousquet Ski Area is just 15 min away and Ski Butternut is 20 min away.

This is our newest and most exciting unit. Before, it was a one bedroom with two small business offices on the same floor with a shared bathroom. There is NO LONGER a SHARED BATHROOM. We now offer a PRIVATE BATHROOM.
Under property amenities a "shared bathroom" pops up but we have been unable to remove it from the website. We have been getting messages from guests asking us is it shared or private....??? it says both. Answer: it is PRIVATE and we are working with VRBO to remove "shared bathroom" from the amenities to make the listing accurate.
We now offer the entire top floor of the building. We have added a bedroom as well as a family room with a TV, small library, games, succulents, and a couch which folds out and sleeps another. There is another TV in the dining room.
One TV is cable and the other is on streaming services.
Both bedrooms have queen beds. The larger bedroom is at the front of the house and the smaller is at the back of the house. The family room is at the front of the house. The front rooms look onto Main Street.
There is a dining room with a kitchenette. There is a PRIVATE full bathroom.
It's an awesome spot on the north end of Main Street. An easy walk to restaurants, shops, yoga, church, local attractions and nature.

We added art to the space. Much of it is by local artists. One well known artist whose water colors of Lee are on the walls, lived with us in the big Garfield House for years. There are old show posters from local theaters, handmade furniture and sculptures.

The parking lot is behind the building ( named the Annex) with a short rock pathway which brings you to the entrance which is on the side of the house. The light will turn on automatically.
There's a key pad at the entrance. Once inside climb the steps and you have arrived.
It's a comfortable space for everyone including pets.

Downstairs is Jen Goss's studio. For over 10 years have been lucky to have Jen, licensed in massage and hypnosis, be on site. She has a welcoming and peaceful space and offers personalized attention, a listening ear, and gives a 5star massage. And you don't have to leave the building. Just walk downstairs.

Also on the first floor is our smallest vacation unit: The Studio. This is at the front of the building with the porch.

Behind the Annex we have a robust vegetable garden for our guests. This year we had a bunker crop. Visit during the summer or fall and enjoy the harvest. There is hike by foot from the Annex, up the hill into the woods and ledges.

There is a green grassy great lawn with Adirondack Chairs - enjoy the passersby, the sunset, the night sky, hot air balloons. Or read a book, zone out, stargaze, throw a frisbee, kick a soccer ball, do yoga, make snow angels.

We do self check in with a minimum of a two night stay. Wifi is provided.
The location on Main Street is ideal for walking to the farmers market, church, the village green, local taverns, restaurants, diners and all sorts of local shops. Short driving distances bring you to well known attractions such as Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, Kripalu, Norman Rockwell museum, The Clarke, theaters, hiking trails, gardens, fishing, ski mountains, lakes, rivers.
Lee is a walking down and all you have to do is step out the door. Our block
hosts a a popular sports bar and a high end French Bistro and Bar.

The studio is in the front room of an historic house (circa 1830) on Main St, in Lee. convenient to all of the town's amenities and a part of the Garfield House complex of properties (furnished and unfurnished). This is a small space, but has a queen mattress (Murphy bed - folds out from the wall), couch, arm chair, kitchen, small table, TV, bathroom, private porch, entrance and parking.
Guests have full access to Garfield House amenities, ie grilling, patio, laundry room etc. Walking distance to quality restaurants. The Garfield property and units are only a short distance to entertainment sites like Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow and some great museums like the Clark and Norman Rockwell. The Appalachian Trail goes right through Berkshire County and Garfield Properties is an excellent jumping off point.

Garfield House Vacation living for short or longer stays in a newly renovated townhouse is in close proximity to all Berkshire and town amenities. It has 2 levels, 1 and1/2 baths, 2 bedrooms, full kitchen, dinning room and family room with HD TV and wifi. There is a private patio off the family room. The unit is air conditioned for the summer hot days. Parking is right in front of unit. There is ample storage space and convenience to a common laundry area. We also provide an infant portable crib and extra air mattress when needed.

This lovely lakefront cottage has been a favorite family gathering place of ours for 30 years. It sits on picturesque Lower Goose Pond in the heart of the Berkshires.

The property is situated on a dead end street of a private lake community. The house is just over 1,000sf with a deck overlooking a large yard and the lake. The lakefront yard is big enough for a family game of whiffle ball or to throw a frisbee around. The first floor has the kitchen, living room (with a couch to sleep 5), a full bathroom, and a bedroom with a full size bed. Ascend a wooden spiral staircase to access the spacious master bedroom and bath. Outdoor furniture and a gas grill off the kitchen make outdoor dining easy. The kitchen is stocked with pots and pans, as well as dishes and other essentials. We provide bed linens and bath towels, and there is a washing machine and dryer in the basement.

There is a dock on the property, and two kayaks and a canoe are available for your use. There is a public boat launch nearby if you want to bring your own powerboat, sailboat or jet ski. Clear water makes for great swimming. The main lake is connected to Upper Goose by a small estuary. Approximately 30-45 minutes by kayak or canoe, Upper Goose is environmentally protected and free from development – just the lake, surrounding mountains, and unspoiled nature.

Please note that the cottage is not winterized, so it is available in spring, summer, and fall.

The cottage is walking distance to the Appalachian Trail, and a short drive to Lee (close enough to bike to), the Outlets, Tanglewood, and all that the Berkshires has to offer.
