Hiking trails are around the corner, and a lake surrounded by rolling, golden hills is 3 minutes down the road, perfect for kayaking. So come and relax, reconnect with nature, or do both! This fully remodeled, light filled, 1900 sqft home includes two working fireplaces, a large Great room, spacious living, dining, and sleeping areas, a dedicated office space, a laundry room, a patio, and a back deck. Its lay-out is convenient, with two bedrooms 2 steps up from the main floor. The bedrooms feature fresh, European style bedding. The twin beds downstairs have new green tea-infused mattresses, the sheets are manufactured by women-owned businesses, and the guest toiletries are all natural and infused with essential oils. Every bedroom has beautiful views of the park-like grounds. The fully equipped, large kitchen with spacious dining area makes it fun to cook and gather, and the private back deck and small front patio are perfect for morning breakfast and evening cocktails! There is fast WiFi and a smart TV in the living room, and, just in case you want to disconnect from it all, a great selection of board games and puzzles, books and magazines. This New England Cape sits on what was once a sheep farm. The family who owned the land 200 years ago held Dorset sheep, hence the property's name, and as you explore the area, you will see street names that reflect the history of the property. The barn of the main house still has the troughs where they would feed the animals. At one point, the guest house was a local bakery, and an oven in the basement is witness to that venture. The entire property is surrounded by a wooded Land Reserve, ensuring privacy. We have deer, wild turkeys, and hawks that regularly visit our grounds, and from time to time a red fox will cross the property.

The Center of Brookfield and neighboring towns with their restaurants are between a 5- and 15-minute drive away. Kent Falls, the towns of Kent and Litchfield, at the foot of the Berkshire mountains, are a scenic 40-50 minutes away. Other charming towns close to us (within a 15-mile radius) include Newtown, Bridgewater, Roxbury, and New Milford. There are many restaurants, shops, and art galleries around. The Elephant's Trunk, the famous flea market held on Sundays in New Milford from May to October, is a 10-minute drive away.

We live in the main house on the property, and we will leave you as much privacy as you desire. We are always happy to guide you to our favorite local eateries, the hiking trails, access to the lake, and other local activities.

- "I’m going to be honest! I was initially worried about going due to an update receive by the owner the day of check in. We showed up and what seemed like a mountain, became a molehill. He mentioned a few things needed repair, on check in day which I was not happy about, but they were so insignificant due to all the other amenities, and the location, the views, the beautiful kitchen, the comfortable bed, the privacy, the water actives, and getting to fish off the dock ect, ect, ect! Those are the things that made are stay one of the absolute BEST mini vacations ever! I will say the outdoor grill was either clogged or not working properly and needs repairing or to be replaced. That’s pretty common with grills, not surprising though. We were able to use the gas stove/oven which cooked quickly, and efficiently, and sufficed our personal needs. Overall our stay was a 5. Too many good things to worry about the small. Thank you Vico ! We spent a fantastic, fun filled weekend with friends and their 2 children doing all the lakeside activities you'd hope for - swimming, canoeing, barbecuing, s'mores around the firepit and generally relaxing. THE SPACE

Our Danbury Lake Candlewood contemporary home boasts spectacular views of the Lake. It includes four bedroom, two full baths and two half baths is on 0.92 acres right on the water. Our home has a very open floor plan, a very large kitchen with granite counter tops stainless steel appliances that opens up to the large family room with gas fireplace all open to a large deck with incredible views.

The Living Room with vaulted ceilings and opens to the dining room. The laundry and powder room all on the main level. The master bedroom has a large walk-in closet and separate bathroom. It also has its own private balcony with views of the lake. There are two other bedrooms and a full hallway bathroom that rounds out the second floor. The Lower level has a large playroom/great room, another half bath, and office/bedroom that leads out to the lower Patio with hot tub and firepit. A 55" TV is located in the master bedroom, a 65" TV on the main floor and a 75" TV is located on the lower level. Indoor/outdoor games are available

We are located at the endo of a cul-de-sac where there is plenty of parking and a 2 car garage. Electric Car (EV) or Tesla charger available in the garage. You have your own dock and a boat if needed. Available for rent all 12 months of the year!

- "This house was a great stay. The hosts were in contact with us the whole time. As they have written in their posting, there are QR codes everywhere in the house which were super helpful! They’re basically mini videos on how to use everything. It was very helpful. The house was very clean, updated and modern. The kitchen is beautiful and updated, had all of the appliances and dishes/cookware/utensils we’d need. There were Keurig cups left for us, along with other items that were very helpful. Lots of towels, toilet paper and paper towels as needed. The house itself sits on a beautiful lake property. There’s a porch with comfortable furniture overlooking the lake. A full sound system is available throughout the interior and exterior of the home. There are more than enough areas to entertain or relax inside and outside. You will often see windsurfers, fishing, and ice skaters on the lake but please note that you will not see motorboats! They are not allowed which keeps the lake very peaceful.

- Office space with pull-out queen bed, doors for privacy (half bath on main level, guests using office for sleeping will use full bath one floor up or floor down)

Lower Level:

-2 king-size bedrooms with bathrooms, workout room, and entertainment room great for movies or kids hangout with air hockey table and games. Walk out to the pool.

- Cribs in lower-level bedrooms for the convenience of those traveling with young ones. Linens are provided for cribs upon request.

- Ultimate lakefront living features an oversized deck with a fireplace and grilling area off of the main level overlooking the infinity pool and spa.

- Pool and Hot Tub are open seasonally. It is anticipated that they will be open mid-April through October but will depend on spring thaw and winter freeze. We can not guarantee pool opening/closing dates in advance. Please note that weather can change quickly and decisions to close the pool may happen last min. if requested by professionals. The pool and spa work together and one will not be available without the other.

- Pool can be heated per guest request for an additional fee. Fee is based on market rates at the time of your stay. This fee will be charged after booking.- A double staircase leads to the pool-level patio with another fireplace.

- At the water's edge are a boathouse and a large dock.

- Owner has lifejackets, beach chairs, towels, 2 Stand Up Paddle boards and a kayak for guest use. Lifejacks, paddles and fishing poles shared with the house next door.



Garage for 2 cars. NO Cars w/ Rooftop Storage are permitted in the garage. The driveway can accommodate 6 cars, depending on size. There is no street parking allowed.



ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

- Pool and hot tub expected to be available mid-April through October, dependent on Spring thaw and winter freeze.

- Pool heater does not constantly run. Per request pool can be heated for an additional fee. Fee is based on market rates at the time of your stay. This fee will be charged after booking.

- Strong Wifi perfect for remote working

- Pets will be considered. Prior approval is required. A $50/night per pet fee will be added. Unapproved pets will be charged a minimum of $250. Airbnb guests will be charged pet fee after booking is made, and pet is approved.

- Beach towels are available during pool season.

- Outdoor fireplaces are available all year long. Firewood can be purchased at local grocery and gas stations.

- The starter amenity pack includes shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, hand soap, dish soap, dishwasher pods, a roll of toilet paper in each bathroom, a roll of paper towels, and laundry detergent to get you started with your stay.

- Fresh linens and towels. There is no daily cleaning service.

- Fishing all year round on Taunton Lake... ice fishing in January and February.

This is an incredible property with a huge lake front, deck and side yards. There is a large open floor plan on the main level: Kitchen, living room and dining room. The MBR / bath is on the main level with 3 additional bedrooms on tbe ground floor. Two of the bedrooms have sliders to the pool / gardens with on-suite bathrooms. The other bedroom has a secret panel door to enter the bedroom. It is one of the coolest features in the house!!! This house is great for large and small families. House is 100% private with a long driveway and lots of parking. Beautifully landscaped gardens with more outdoor seating than you would ever need. Spectacular views during and day and as the sunsets!

A new 5 hole putting green with sand trap was recently added. Very fun!!

There is space at the dock for you to rent one boat (sorry, no jet ski rentals) and dock it at the house. The existing boats and jet skies are not part of the rental.

There is a caretaker on the property. They have completely separated room and entrance but will be around taking care of the property.

A NEW KITCHEN with Butler’s pantry. Stunning. We ask that you do not bring your own grills, trailers, etc. the driveway is large and can accommodate cars so we ask that you not park on the grass. The property is only rented for 2 weeks in the summer so don’t wait to book it!
