Hiking trails are around the corner, and a lake surrounded by rolling, golden hills is 3 minutes down the road, perfect for kayaking. So come and relax, reconnect with nature, or do both! A complimentary, chilled bottle of Prosecco will be waiting for you!

This fully remodeled, light filled, 1900 sqft home includes two working fireplaces, a large Great room, spacious living, dining, and sleeping areas, a dedicated office space, a laundry room, a patio, and a back deck. Its lay-out is convenient, with two bedrooms 2 steps up from the main floor. The bedrooms feature fresh, European style bedding. The twin beds downstairs have new green tea-infused mattresses, the sheets are manufactured by women-owned businesses, and the guest toiletries are all natural and infused with essential oils. Every bedroom has beautiful views of the park-like grounds. The fully equipped, large kitchen with spacious dining area makes it fun to cook and gather, and the private back deck and small front patio are perfect for morning breakfast and evening cocktails! There is fast WiFi and a smart TV in the living room, and, just in case you want to disconnect from it all, a great selection of board games and puzzles, books and magazines. This New England Cape sits on what was once a sheep farm. The family who owned the land 200 years ago held Dorset sheep, hence the property's name, and as you explore the area, you will see street names that reflect the history of the property. The barn of the main house still has the troughs where they would feed the animals. At one point, the guest house was a local bakery, and an oven in the basement is witness to that venture. The entire property is surrounded by a wooded Land Reserve, ensuring privacy. We have deer, wild turkeys, and hawks that regularly visit our grounds, and from time to time a red fox will cross the property.

The Center of Brookfield and neighboring towns with their restaurants are between a 5- and 15-minute drive away. Kent Falls, the towns of Kent and Litchfield, at the foot of the Berkshire mountains, are a scenic 40-50 minutes away. Other charming towns close to us (within a 15-mile radius) include Newtown, Bridgewater, Roxbury, and New Milford. There are many restaurants, shops, and art galleries around. The Elephant's Trunk, the famous flea market held on Sundays in New Milford from May to October, is a 10-minute drive away.

We live in the main house on the property, and we will leave you as much privacy as you desire. We are always happy to guide you to our favorite local eateries, the hiking trails, access to the lake, and other local activities.

- "I’m going to be honest! I was initially worried about going due to an update receive by the owner the day of check in. We showed up and what seemed like a mountain, became a molehill. He mentioned a few things needed repair, on check in day which I was not happy about, but they were so insignificant due to all the other amenities, and the location, the views, the beautiful kitchen, the comfortable bed, the privacy, the water actives, and getting to fish off the dock ect, ect, ect! Those are the things that made are stay one of the absolute BEST mini vacations ever! I will say the outdoor grill was either clogged or not working properly and needs repairing or to be replaced. That’s pretty common with grills, not surprising though. We were able to use the gas stove/oven which cooked quickly, and efficiently, and sufficed our personal needs. Overall our stay was a 5. Too many good things to worry about the small. Thank you Vico ! We spent a fantastic, fun filled weekend with friends and their 2 children doing all the lakeside activities you'd hope for - swimming, canoeing, barbecuing, s'mores around the firepit and generally relaxing. THE SPACE

Our Danbury Lake Candlewood contemporary home boasts spectacular views of the Lake. It includes four bedroom, two full baths and two half baths is on 0.92 acres right on the water. Our home has a very open floor plan, a very large kitchen with granite counter tops stainless steel appliances that opens up to the large family room with gas fireplace all open to a large deck with incredible views.

The Living Room with vaulted ceilings and opens to the dining room. The laundry and powder room all on the main level. The master bedroom has a large walk-in closet and separate bathroom. It also has its own private balcony with views of the lake. There are two other bedrooms and a full hallway bathroom that rounds out the second floor. The Lower level has a large playroom/great room, another half bath, and office/bedroom that leads out to the lower Patio with hot tub and firepit. A 55" TV is located in the master bedroom, a 65" TV on the main floor and a 75" TV is located on the lower level. Indoor/outdoor games are available

We are located at the endo of a cul-de-sac where there is plenty of parking and a 2 car garage. Electric Car (EV) or Tesla charger available in the garage. You have your own dock and a boat if needed. Available for rent all 12 months of the year!

- "This house was a great stay. The hosts were in contact with us the whole time. As they have written in their posting, there are QR codes everywhere in the house which were super helpful! They’re basically mini videos on how to use everything. It was very helpful. The house was very clean, updated and modern. The kitchen is beautiful and updated, had all of the appliances and dishes/cookware/utensils we’d need. There were Keurig cups left for us, along with other items that were very helpful. Lots of towels, toilet paper and paper towels as needed. The house itself sits on a beautiful lake property. There’s a porch with comfortable furniture overlooking the lake. We can not guarantee pool opening/closing dates in advance. Please note that weather can change quickly and decisions to close the pool may happen last min. if requested by professionals. The pool and spa work together and one will not be available without the other.

- Pool can be heated per guest request for an additional fee. Fee is based on market rates at the time of your stay. This fee will be charged after booking.- A double staircase leads to the pool-level patio with another fireplace.

- At the water's edge are a boathouse and a large dock.

- Owner has lifejackets, beach chairs, towels, 2 Stand Up Paddle boards and a kayak for guest use. Lifejacks, paddles and fishing poles shared with the house next door.



Garage for 2 cars. NO Cars w/ Rooftop Storage are permitted in the garage. The driveway can accommodate 6 cars, depending on size. There is no street parking allowed.

This is an incredible property with a huge lake front, deck and side yards. There is a large open floor plan on the main level: Kitchen, living room and dining room. The MBR / bath is on the main level with 3 additional bedrooms on tbe ground floor. Two of the bedrooms have sliders to the pool / gardens with on-suite bathrooms. The other bedroom has a secret panel door to enter the bedroom. It is one of the coolest features in the house!!! This house is great for large and small families. House is 100% private with a long driveway and lots of parking. Beautifully landscaped gardens with more outdoor seating than you would ever need. -Kitchen/Dining area:
The outdoor kitchen situated on the lower-level deck of the treehouse comes with a 2-burner stove, a sink with running water, sponge and soap for washing/cooking. The outdoor kitchen has electricity. We also provide a cooler for your convenience. There is a French press and an electric percolator available to make your coffee.

The basics for grilling, utensils, salt, pepper, cups and plates are all provided. There is a gas BBQ grill available. A head lamp or solar powered light is recommended to aid cooking at night , but the kitchen does have lighting.

It is very important that you do not leave food out unattended. Birds, mice, squirrels, raccoons etc. will very likely get into it. Even food that is in a plastic bag is at risk, so your best bet is to keep everything in the cooler.

There are three grocery stores nearby within 1- 2.5 miles radius (Caraluzzi’s, Stop & Shop, Trader Joe’s).

-Trash and Recycling are available:
We ask that when you check out, you ensure that your trash is in the can and the lid is fitted. If you’ve made more than the cans can fit, please use the spare bags provided and leave them in the cabin. If they are left outside animals may rip the bags open and strew trash around. We really appreciate you keep your recycling clean and separate from your trash.

-Lighting:
Dom’s Treehouse has electricity both in the cabin and in the kitchen. If you require more lighting, so we recommend that you bring additional solar or battery-operated lanterns. We ask you to be mindful not to overload the electrical power supply. Manage your electricity usage to prevent circuit overload by turning off cabin and bathroom lights, fan, air conditioning when not being used, and refrain from plugging additional devices that draw more electricity than the circuit can safely handle. But please keep in mind that we DO NOT ALLOW CANDLES OR OTHER FLAMED SOURCE LIGHTING inside cabin and bathroom.

-Parking:
There is a designated space to park your vehicle upon arrival. From there, the units are about a hundred feet away.

-Bathroom and Shower:
The bathroom for the treehouse is equipped with an on-demand propane heater for hot water. We provide towels and washcloths, soap, shampoo, cleaning supplies, to our guests. We exhort you to be water conscious as it comes from our well and therefore is from a limited source.

-Fires:
There is a bonfire pit located on the premises. If you bring wood, it MUST be purchased in Connecticut per state law. However, there is enough firewood on the site for you to use.

In the unlikely event that we are having a particularly dry summer and there is a statewide fire ban, we will be enforcing it. We also ask that if it is extremely windy, that you abstain from having fires.

Fires can ONLY be made in designated fire pit and must be extinguished properly with either water or sand. Please this is very crucial because although a fire looks like it is out, sparks can still fly out if it gets windy and cause new fires to ignite.

-Cell Service and Wi-Fi:
Cell phone signal is pretty good.
We offer complimentary Wi-Fi.

Please inform us in advance of your expected arrival time.

Guests are required to show a photo identification upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.

Checkout instructions are noted down in the manual in the treehouse cabin and the greenhouse, but here is a preamble:

We charge a cleaning fee of $100. Fee will increase for longer stay of 7 nights or more. However, we ask everyone to strip their beds of linens and place them, along with towels, in the laundry bags provided. This is a covid safety practice for us. Additionally, we also ask you not to leave dirty dishes.

There is a form for you to leave feedback as well as letting us know if anything was damaged during your stay.

Please make sure Treehouse cabin and Greenhouse doors are closed and leave the keys in the box provided.

Please ensure that the grill propane tank is tightened off and the cover placed on the grill. If you had a morning fire, please make sure it is properly extinguished.

Please leave everything in the space you found them initially. That will make it easier for the cleaning crew to retrieve and prepare in a timely fashion for the next guest.

Check out time is 11:00 am, please text or email to let us know that you vacated the premises.

The cabin is positioned on 3 acres of forest, and all is available for you to explore. Please do not go beyond trespassing lines.

-Wild Life:
There are no dangerous animals living in the woods. If you ever come across a black bear, they are quite timid creatures and are rarely aggressive. However, it is useful to know how to behave when encountering bears, to help keep you safe and provide peace of mind. Sometimes at night you can hear foxes, but they will not bother you.

Entrance: Upon entering guests are welcome to utilize the front closet and please leave your shoes in the shoes caddy. The rooms are numbered for easy location.

Common space: On the main floor is the shared bathroom (for use only of the guest) and sitting area. In these areas guest are welcome to join other visitors as desired.

The room comes with a king-sized bed, desk with chair, TV with Chromecast, and huge ensuite bathroom with a stand-up shower.

The room is accessed via a back door on the second floor, so you can come and go as you please, without having to pass through the family spaces below.
