OVERVEIW
Guests arrive to a reserved parking space close to entrance to building and visible from the rented unit. The main entrance to building is passcode protected for privacy and security. The one bedroom, one bathroom apartment offers an open floor plan spread over 660 sf and boasts a private covered porch spanning its length. Upon entering The Nest, you’re welcomed with warm tasteful décor, a comfortable lounging area, and inviting bedroom that beckons you from the moment you walk through front door. Wi-Fi is included as well as Roku for TV entertainment. Kitchen is supplied with more than ample cookware and tools and appliances. The bathroom is clean and supplied with soft terry cloth towels, large mirror, hair dryer, as well as complimentary self care items. The nostalgic freight train passes by the building from time to time.

LIVINGROOM
The living room welcomes you with comfortable seating surrounding a beautiful live edge coffee table crafted by a local artist. A 40” Smart TV (Roku) is wall mounted with an arm for optimal viewing angles. Bring your passwords for your streaming subscription for best selections. A ceiling fan is above for added comfort.

OUTDOOR ENVIRONMENT / PRIVATE COVERED PORCH
The Nest features a private covered porch that spans the length of the apartment, accessible through either French doors in living room or from master bedroom. Take it easy in the comfortable seating provided. There are only two private porches in the building, and lucky you gets to enjoy one of them! We set our guest up right in the kitchen department! Whether you’re here for a short stay or extended stay, we’ve got your back! Kitchen is fully equipped with glass top electric range, microwave, side by side fridge and dishwasher all in stainless steel. And if you happen to feel like cooking, you won’t be disappointed. You will find just about everything you need to make almost any meal! With the exception of the ingredients! To make mornings a bit easier, a coffee maker, toaster are provided.

BEDROOM
Through the cathedral like bay windows, the master bedrooms comfy queen sized bed dressed in crisp white bed linens bathes in sunlight. There is a large closet for your hanging stuff as well as a dresser for other items. And I almost forgot to mention the cozy white terry cloth robes! Yup! It’s chill time. Now, I’m not sure how many people actually iron while on vacation, but we’ve got your back if your one of those. There's an Ironing board, iron and starch!

BATHROOM
Our bathroom is clean, clean, clean and has just about everything our guests may need to get themselves cleaned up! A tub for a soak, or a shower with handheld shower wand for quicker cleanup. Oh! And did I mention the water pressure?! It’s pretty great! Then dry off with our soft white towels. Also included is hair dryer, complimentary toiletries. A first aid box resides here under the sink if you get a paper cut or something.

Electric heat pump provides forced air heating and cooling.

BUILDING HISTORY
Back in the 1850s, George T. Soule and his brothers built what we call today The Granary. Back in the day, the brothers were local builders and had a hand in supplying materials and building many of the local structures from that era. They also sold grains and feed out of the building, but building supplies, and actually building local structures was their mainstay. Long after the Soule brothers were gone, the building slowly fell into disrepair with various businesses occupying its space. But back in 2002, Cass came across this decrepit building and somehow after about 18 months convinced his architect father get involved. Then in 2003 the father and son team purchased the building. Nearly 3 years later in 2006 the building was reborn as The Granary. Cass has since lovingly cared for the building and its surroundings.

Upon Entering the secure building, you will be given a personal passcode. This unit also has a back door entrance that leads to a beautifully landscaped backyard with a tiny patio and bistro table. The backyard has a charcoal grill and picnic table for outside gatherings.

Our stylishly furnished 2-bed, 1 bath retreat is thoughtfully designed to provide you with all the comforts you desire. Relax in the spacious living room, or sink into the plush beds for a peaceful night's sleep.

The living / dining area
has beautiful French doors overlooking the backyard garden, a sofa, swing chair and a swivel side chair and ottoman that opens up to an additional lounge/seating area. The 42” Flat screen TV has Netflix and Amazon Prime installed (just bring your passwords) and Alexa View to answer all your curious questions!
There is a 4 seated dining table just off the kitchen.

The Kitchen
While you're welcome to explore the local dining scene, your kitchen comes fully stocked with all you will need to prepare meals. (Just bring your ingredients !) There is an electric range, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, toaster and coffee maker to get your morning off to a good start, and coffee, creamer and sugar is provided as well. The master bedroom has a double thick memory foam queen bed, a dresser, a closet , full length mirror and sliding doors that overlook the beautiful backyard gardens.

The second bedroom can be used as a bedroom or an office. The bed is a twin sized double thick memory foam daybed and there is a desk for doing work or homework as well. The bed has drawers for storage and a closet for hanging clothes as well.

The bathroom comes complete with all you need! Towels, Soap, Shampoo, Conditioner, Lotion, Toilet paper, a Hair dryer and please use the Makeup Wipes to remove makeup so our plush white towels stay clean!

Spacious one-bedroom apartment (approximately 800 square feet) featuring a comfortable living room, a separate TV room, and an updated kitchen. Every window offers stunning views of the lake, and a small private patio provides the perfect spot to relax outdoors.

The property spans over 3 acres of beautiful land, featuring a garden and a peaceful stream, all of which are available for your enjoyment.

The lake is especially inviting, with a firm sandy entrance—no muddy footing here! It can be a bit rocky in places, water shoes are recommended for the best experience.

For water fun, guests have access to two kayaks, a paddleboard, and boogie boards.

A Note on Accessibility: the house itself does not require any stairs. The walk to the lake is short but the driveway is steep, may not be accessible for all.

Guests are welcome to enjoy over 3 acres of mostly wooded land on the property. The apartment is located on the lower level of my home, with every window offering a beautiful view of the lake. The shoreline is about 140 steps from the apartment.

You’re free to use the available water gear, including two kayaks, a paddleboard, boogie boards, and pool noodles. Water shoes are recommended, as the initial steps into the lake can be a bit rocky.

Please note there are no lifeguards on duty, so swimming is at your own risk. The water becomes deep quickly, so extra caution is advised for children and non-swimmers. If you’d like life jackets for the kayaks or paddleboard, just let me know in advance.
Other things to note
There are hiking trails throughout town, including one that follows the lake for about half a mile. From there, additional trails lead up to a 90-acre property that locals are welcome to explore.

This is a casual, rustic, well-lived-in spacious and comfy space with partial kitchen, griddle, hot plate, microwave and more; 42” inch TV with Roku, basic vented heat plus space heaters, and A/C.

We perform 5-stage COVID recommended cleaning and we sanitize with an ozone generator between every guest (what hospitals and other professionals use. Non chemical).

My goal is to share even the most minor defects and potential issues with you, so that I have only guests who LOVE our space:

-Note that there are personal family items in storage spaces or behind furniture. (None are out or visible in the space you use.) We are also pet and kid friendly, so there are some cosmetic defects.

-This is a first floor apartment with three entry doors, in the woods, so organic materials can flutter through with you or quickly settle on surfaces, even with rigorous and frequent cleaning. Most guests tell us it feels fresh, breezy, and squeaky clean, but we want you to consider the setting and the possibilities that come with that.

You may also see or hear our friendly but animated pets on the property. Besides them, we are in the woods, and woodsy critters surround us. Most guests describe us as tranquil and serene, but you may hear our dogs, our cat, or a howling fox in heat. You could see a spider.

We are right next to a pond, so we offer both AC and a dehumidifier (your choice to use either or none; you won’t need both). There is also a small standing fan and a ceiling fan.

We have been told by one guest that the bed feels too small for a plus-size couple, and want to share that tip for your consideration.

Two other guests felt that the bed was squeaky. We have decided to replace the box spring, but if you are sensitive to this, you may want to postpone a stay with us until we have the replacement. One guest felt the bed was way too soft and another felt it was too hard. I’m looking at ways to adjust it for either preference.

Three times in 10 years, we have lost power. Twice for a few hours, once longer. If this happens, we will accept cancellation without penalty, but we also keep a generator in the bedroom for a quick move right outside should you need it for power. Gasoline and propane for the generator are kept outside. If the presence of a generator bothers you, this may not be your dream spot, but we have so much to offer and so many delighted guests, we do hope you’ll be one of them! 🤗💞☮️🌲

The property spans over 3 acres of beautiful land, featuring a garden and a peaceful stream, all of which are available for your enjoyment.

The lake is especially inviting, with a firm sandy entrance—no muddy footing here! It can be a bit rocky in places, water shoes are recommended for the best experience.

A Note on Accessibility: the house itself does not require any stairs. The walk to the lake is short but the driveway is steep, may not be accessible for all.

Guests are welcome to enjoy over 3 acres of mostly wooded land on the property. The apartment is located on the lower level of my home, with every window offering a beautiful view of the lake. The shoreline is about 140 steps from the apartment.

You’re free to use the available water gear, including two kayaks, a paddleboard, boogie boards, and pool noodles. Water shoes are recommended, as the initial steps into the lake can be a bit rocky.

Please note there are no lifeguards on duty, so swimming is at your own risk. The water becomes deep quickly, so extra caution is advised for children and non-swimmers. If you’d like life jackets for the kayaks or paddleboard, just let me know in advance.

Other things to note
There are hiking trails throughout town, including one that follows the lake for about half a mile. From there, additional trails lead up to a 90-acre property that locals are welcome to explore.

This studio comes with a designated parking space, located about less 1 minute walk to the studio. From Spring to Fall the charming Deerfield Terrace is open for guests to use. (May15-November 15; sometimes mid April if there is no snow fall in the forecast). It has a fire pit and space heaters are available to keep you warm on cooler spring and autumn nights. Very peaceful and cozy space to sip on your morning coffee, do some reading, or simply listen to the sound of nature.

The lawn outside your private entrance is yours to use, relax, watch Main Street activity... There are lawn chairs; add'l chairs upon request. Baby pool upon request.

The house is on the corner of Main & Market Streets. Turn onto Market Street then onto the parking area. There is a small white gait w/ a sign "Private. 304 Main St".

Walk on the path that is parallel to Market Street to the private entryway. It is well-lit. There are stairs outside along the path and to enter the house.
