Situated on Reese Lake on the western end of Lake Bloomington in Central, IL, this home has 3 Br, 2 baths, covered patio, 2nd floor balcony, fenced in yard, fire pit, lake side views and the unique charm of a quiet lake neighborhood. It is minutes from Rivian, ISU, IWU & Uptown Normal. For the business traveler, a home away from home located 20 min to Rivian, 25 min to the Bloomington, IL airport, State Farm Insurance and Country Financial. A cyclist's delight, the area is frequented by cyclists riding popular routes around Lake Bloomington and Comlara Park/Evergreen Lake.

The Space
This little neighborhood is located near the start of a scenic loop road on the southwestern tail of Lake Bloomington, and the house is on the north shore of Reese Lake. The fenced in yard has a gas grill, covered outdoor dining area, and a fire pit. The attached garage has been transformed into a game room. The game room has air hockey, foosball, ping pong table, electronic keyboard, puzzles, board and table games, and a smart TV.

The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you’ll need to cook, like pots, pans, bakeware, cutting boards, etc, as well as salt, pepper, oil, flour and sugar. We also provide coffee and tea!

House rules must be followed.

Guest access:
Guests will have access to all spaces on the property except the shed, where we keep yard care equipment.

Other things to note:
This is a no smoking/vaping house, and small pets are allowed.
The property is not wheel chair accessible and toddlers must be supervised.
There are steps from the garage to the main living space and back yard, and staircase to the 1st bedroom.

Keep in mind, we are on a lake and by woods - there will be wildlife and bugs! It is likely you will see deer, geese, racoons, turtles and other wildlife. Please use caution when driving, especially at night, and don’t scare the animals away if/when they come into the yard.

The space
The Schoolhouse Cabin is a perfect mesh of rustic and luxury. Located at the start of the scenic loop road on the south side of the lake, the water is a 2 minute walk in multiple directions! The cabin is a historic schoolhouse with multiple charming features including a spiral staircase, wood burning stove, original brick entry way floor, sunken dining room, and loft style upstairs! The yard has multiple gathering spaces including a brick deck with grill, dining area, conversation/lounge area, fire pit and an outdoor daybed to relax under the trees.
The oversized two car garage has been made into a game room! Game room has ping pong, air hockey, foosball, double basketball, tons of board and table games games, crochet, bocce ball, ladder ball, bags, ring toss, lawn darts, spike ball, a small kiddie area with little toys, and a sprinkler for your use! Hot tub seats 8 people and is available year round. Guests must follow hot tub rules.

Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you’ll need to cook like pots, pans, bakeware, cutting boards, etc, as well as salt, pepper, oil, flour and sugar. We will also provide coffee and tea!

Other things to note
The property is not wheel chair accessible and not recommended for toddlers or anyone that has trouble with a few steps.
There are steps to the main door, a small step up to the living room, and steps down to the dining and main floor bedroom.
Additionally, the spiral stair case is not suitable for very small children as the hand rails are wide enough to fit through! Please be aware that by booking, you waive any liability on the owners for tripping on steps.
Keep in mind, we are by a lake and woods! There will be wildlife and bugs! We try our best to keep all bugs outside the home, but given our location, some do creep in! Also, you will see deer more than likely. Please be careful driving, especially at night, and don’t scare them away if/when they come into our yard!

We didn’t rent a boat, but could have. We have a boat with a larger horsepower than we couldn’t use because boat motors are limited to 40 horsepower. Shaded by trees, high on a hill sits this picturesque home with a huge porch, an upper and lower deck and hot tub. Peaceful, quiet, secure neighborhood.
