Wake up in a three story lakefront home on ~2 private acres with a private beach. We have a private boat dock and swimming platform and a lakeside campfire ring. The house is located on a quiet peninsula that was once an Island, creating a unique and relaxing environment. Just a few minutes from mountain biking and skiing at Mt. Abram, and 20 minutes from skiing at Sunday River. We are fully baby equipped and dog friendly!
Our kitchen is fully prepped for cooking. We have two refrigerators, a gas range with an optional griddle top, two ovens, and a plumbed Webber gas grill for year round use. We have a popcorn maker, lobster pot, electric hand mixer, a dishwasher, and much more.
The house is setup for large groups with five bedrooms, three full baths, a living room with cathedral ceiling, a wood burning fireplace, dining room, mudroom, washer/drier, ski-tuning/utility room, game room, screened porch, three decks and three flatscreen smart HD TVs.
Two bedrooms have a California King bed and three bedrooms have two twin beds which convert to Faux California King. All five bedrooms can have a twin added (not a cot) upon request with no additional charge. The game room can be set up as a faux bedroom to accommodate up to 3 guests, a great spot for overflow guests or kids!
For baby gear we have two high chairs, a changing table, a rocking chair, three pack-n-play pens, a bouncy seat, an indoor baby swing, toys/books, outlet plugs, cabinet/door handle covers, and gates.
We provide bed linens, bath/swim towels, laundry detergent, toilet paper, tissues, liquid hand soap, and baby wipes. In the kitchen you'll find dish washing detergent, trash bags, table linens, sugar, flour, oils/vinegars, spices, herbal teas, hot cocoa, & starter supply of paper goods/plates/cups/napkins.
Pets are allowed on a pre-approved basis with extra charge of $185 per dog per stay. NO CATS ALLOWED.
Rates are subject to change based upon occupancy and desired dates.
- "The house was a wonderful space for our family to get together with 7 adults and 3 kids, there was room for a few more if we had wanted! We loved the living room for game time and the connected kitchen and dining area worked well to keep everyone together at meal time. The bedrooms were well laid out and the kitchen had everything we needed to prep. We did rent a pontoon boat from Norway Marina for 3 days during our stay to tour the lake. My only comment relative to the listing description is that there are several steps, albeit relatively shallow, to get from the house down to the water, and there are essentially 2 water areas. 1 with the dock and floating dock, and a second beachy area down a small path from the fire pit. The views from the house are somewhat limited as it is nestled in among the trees, so you can't really see the waterfront from the house but it was very quiet and really enjoyable inside the house. We'd definitely go back for other family outings. "

- "Beautiful cabin and close to so many things." - "This is our second year staying at this property, and we will surely be back again. It is perfect for a ski weekend. The house is beautiful and only 15 minutes from Sunday River. It has everything we could need. The driveway can sometimes be a bit slick, so snow tires or 4WD can be helpful, but honestly- my old 2WD mini van has successcully navigated it 2 years in a row, so I wouldn't sweat it if you are used to driving in New England winters."

Highlighted amenities of this property include the 6-person hot tub, AC, soaring stone fireplace, and game room with pool table. All are great remedies after a day of golf, skiing, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, or skiing. This property offers 2 suites, an additional queen bedroom on the main level and XL bunks in the bunk room! These are not your ordinary bunks, handcrafted and extra-large to accommodate not only the young but the young at heart! Mountain Gem is minutes from a public boat launch and beach. - "A quick 15-20 minute ride to Sunday River (leave by 7:30am on the weekends to avoid that 20 minute drive turning into a 1-hour drive!) House was nicely appointed and large enough to host our family and our friends. Beautiful views of the lake in the winter, so we can imagine how beautiful this would be in the summer. A few things weren't operable when we arrived (gas fire place and jacuzzi tub in main floor bedroom) but the owner made us aware of that. These were not big deals to us."

Kara was also an excellent host, quick to respond to any questions, even with mother nature making an unexpected appearance, she made sure we were taken care of! We will definitely be back!" - "This was a fantastic cabin for our family of five adults to get away for a 5 night August trip to Maine. Cool evenings on the deck! Close to lots of things to do. We had fun hiking, kayaking, antique-ing, and we even had time for a day in Portland. Stay here if you want to see amazing sunsets and enjoy late night star gazing. Definitely worth it" - "Easy check-in, comfortable space, well situated near Bethel with lots to do." - "We wanted affordable accommodations close to Mt. Abram. This condo was great. It accommodated our family of four (two kids 7 and 9) nicely. Both kids had their own comfortable spot to sleep in the living room area (futon and comfortable pullout love seat). There was plenty of room for gear. The wood stove was awesome. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals. There was plenty of bedding, towels, etc. We would stay here again for sure!"

- "We had 8 adults and were quite comfortable in this large rustic home on the mountain. It was very clean and well maintained. There were a lot of little extra touches that were very nice and much appreciated as well. " - "Wow, what a gem this place is! So fortunate the owners are generous enough to share their beautiful mountain home so other lucky families like ours can enjoy it too. The location to the lift at Mt. Abrams West Lodge is perfect! We planned to go to Sunday river and ski while we were here too but it was just way too convenient to keep skiing at Mt Abram so we never left the area. The images of the house on VRBO are great but the place is even better in real life. We loved everything about it and the hot tub was an awesome addition! The fireplace was perfect and the overall ambiance from the decorations to the lighting was tranquil and inviting. The lower level game room was so enjoyable too. Thanks for everything, we can’t wait to come for another stay. The BTs."

The bed rooms are a good size and the bathrooms were very clean. The kitchen was a bit small but there is an adjacent dining area for extra space if needed when preparing a large meal. The house is very private with surrounding trees and the view from the front (large) windows is lovely! The skylights provide to s of light during the day. We stayed during the summer and the window AC units in the bedrooms (along with a couple fans included in the house) kept the house comfortable even in the 90 degree heat. Overall we loved this sweet cabin and the location and would be happy to return!"
